what happens when the account you used for a refund has closed? Abd how long would it take to get a refund ?

I totally believe that. But you know some of the companies will lie to you especially the irs lol

@Skittlez We didn’t expect to get it back fast because it was the IRS. I worked in banking and mortgage industry as a manager most of my career until I became disable. When we had to research discrepancies it didn’t take that long from my experience.

@angeleys67 your daughter is the luckiest person I have ever heard of and that’s not just from irs. It takes many companies longer than a week to even find out it bounced back. That’s awesome.

this happened to me two years ago. I was due to get my refund on 2/12 that year and my bank bounced it back because of my social not being associated with the account. I know the situation is a tad different but the same thing happens. It bounced back to the treasury that took about two weeks to happen and then the IRS was notified by the treasury, I then got a letter two weeks after that said it could take 3 months. I got my refund that year via check in mid April. It added about 2 additional months wait time.

@Nya bug last year my daughter tried to deposit her tax refund on her reloadable card and it was rejected. The irs mail her a check out within a week. Also, they update WMR when her deposit rejected given her date to expect a paper check.

Note… if you have a new account with the same bank because someone compromised your account then your bank will send it to your new account. If your bank is nice, thwy will look out for the dd for u and write you a check if you tell them you wanna pay your balance with it.
IRS takes 4 to 6 weeks to mail that check so try to reconcile with your bank. That’s exactly why I used my Chase liquid card cause I’m always over drawing my damn account.

Syraz is correct. It will take a pretty long time. Around a month or so. Happened to a friend of mine.

When the refund gets kicked back to the IRS they will mail you a paper check…donno time frame on that though
