Anyone’s gone from accepted to approved yet? How long does it usually take?

My best guess, the first big deposit waves will be Feb 22nd and 24th. I’m a weekly and and hopeful for the 24th.

@StimulateMeinAZ hypothetically. But the IRS is projecting DD the first week of March for most. Most of the people accepted into the test batch (prior to February 12th), will receive their deposits (whether subject to PATH or not) about a week earlier. Obviously if there is something holding up a return, whether it got flagged for a human review or something, it will delay it.

*specify, question doesn’t specify PATHers :)

The question doesn’t specifically PATHers but even when PATH filers file way early (like myself at 1/18) its still about 3 weeks from RECEIVED and that is entirely dependent on the date IRS is receiving returns.

Well the PATH lifts the 15th correct? So basically it doesn’t apply this year?

                    @T

Exactly, everyone is different. The majority of people do see their $ within the 21days. Similar accts filed on the same days can have drastically different wait times for reasons out of the filer’s control, but most similar accts do show a pattern. To make it clear though, most of us will not see turn around times less than 7 days. So, congrats to those lucky duckies, but don’t expect that to be you.

The standard answer to amount of time from accepted to approved is 21 days. But it could be 5 days. 9 days, 11 days…or 21 days. And could even be weeks to months depending on the situation. Last year some random review hit slot of people and they had to wait 60 days and longer. I was one of them, they kept telling me my employer didnt turn in w2 info to IRS and SSA but my employer did. They said I filed before my employer sent info which was a lie.

If you’re not a PATHer and went from accepted to approved THIS week. Its possible to see $ Mon and Wed as long as IRS is running on time.

Before Path Act I usually got my DD 3-5 days from Accepted. It’s totally possible for non PATHers to receive your $ very quickly. WMR major updates are usually Wed for daily accts and Saturdays Overnight for weekly accts.

It is also possible for accts to update other days but they only update once per day, so you wont go from Approved to DDD if your account status changed after that day’s update.

Nobody actually answered the OP’s question… how long does it usually take to go from accepted to approved? I’m curious too!

I got accepted as well yesterday. But did u actually get approved via WMR site that your refund will be DD on #$/#$/#$ date?

DLT stated below that he actually received his tax refund on 2/12.

If you had no credits affected by PATH act then it’s definitely possible people are getting theirs this early.

I TT my taxes on 2/1. At 5:30pm 2/12 showed IRS had received them.

Test batch was accepted by the IRS before today. Mine got accepted 2 days ago.

@DLT you don’t have credits correct? Like EIC or CTC? I know it sounds like a dumb question since the IRS doesn’t disburse those refunds until February 15th…but just wondering if maybe that means the actual DD and your credit union just made it available today. But it’s probably the date the IRS starts disbursement…i.e. hits “send.”

I got my Federal tax return today @ 1:11pm PST! I filed 1/7 with TurboTax. It was accepted 2/9. I have not gotten another email saying it had been APPROVED, let alone SENT. My SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union obviously got the electronic file today and immediately released the funds to my account. IRS still shows my return as “Received”…not “Approved” or “Sent”!!

Usually take 3-4 weeks. I have no clue how it’s going to go this year though.
