      Just got an email saying due to delays with the Path act anyone with EIC etc shouldn’t plan on getting refund before the 27th. Anyone have any info regarding this?

          @Michael

          The 13th is Abraham Lincoln’s birthday
          The 20th is George Washington’s birthday

          might not be too big for the irs to consider a major holiday but I do know that if you go on the irs website and read why they say don’t expect refunds until the week of the 27th is because of the 20th is a holiday and some banks take time to process deposits. This does not apply to everyone because not all banks are the same and don’t take forever to deposit money but they wanted to make sure they mentioned this just in case this specific situ applies to you.a lot of people are receiving refunds on a prepaid card such as netspend and h&r block emerald cards so they would receive refunds as soon as the banks for those prepaid cards receives them. I honestly believe if your process date is for the 13th you will receive your refund on the 15th and if you processing date is the 20th you will receive your refund on the 22nd. Has anyone noticed wmr updates on Wednesdays and Fridays and deposits are being made on Wednesdays and Fridays so that would make since for our refunds to be released on Wednesday the 15th for those with a processing date of 2/13/2017and Friday the 22nd for those with a processing date of 2/20/2017 but I could be wrong just my opinion.

              I believe this is a generic message designed to keep people from flooding the IRS phone lines on 2/15. The thing is, they have to release the funds in batches. Some will get the early release date, which starts the week of 2/13. The reality is, those people have already processed and are just in a holding pattern.

              Some of us (like me) are not completely done processing and should probably expect (and hope) that we will be in the next batch (starting the week beginning with 2/20 for weeklies).

              As amomslife stated, there are some holidays to be aware of, but typically, only 2/20 is a bankers holiday. Those hoping for a release date of 2/13 should be good to go. If your bank releases early, look for a DD on/about 2/13. If they release exactly on-time, look for a DD on 2/15. If they are punks and hold your funds for up to 5 days, I recommend another bank. LOL. just kidding, but you may have a longer wait.

              Apparently discussing the IRS to death helps me pass this tax-time wait. LOL.

                      Never got this email but its well known that the irs isnt sending money out until the 15th due to PATH. my processing date is for the 13th though so ill get my money on the 15th i think since the law doesnt say they have to hold it till the15th but only you cant get the money until then
