According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.

This shows up on the website and my refund amount is gone. There is the year the taxes were for there instead. It says to check mid February. Does anyone has this?

Julie, this is a common message anyone claiming EITC or ACTC will see this year. It’s just to inform you of the reason your information is delayed. Keep checking! You should see something new around February 17th or later.
