Just sharing my story in the hopes it might help someone…
So I filed 1/20 HOH EIC ed credit 8862 refund 9xxx I was issued a 4464c on 1/27. I knew I was getting the letter cause I called on the 27th and they told me they were sending it. My refund stayed on bars still processing until Sunday 2/8 when it went to generic message with amount still there and topic 152 as well. I was able to see my transcripts for the first few days my refund was processing it was weird cause they had the as of Feb 16th, no return filed, and a 971 notice issued with a 2-16-05 date beside it. I dont know if I ever had a 570, cause a few days after I filed an id theft indicator was put on my acct(which didn’t surprise me cause I reported ID theft after trying to figure out why the hell I had to file and 8862 when I’d never claimed children before and only small amounts of EIC, apparently someone tried to file as me claiming children in 2010). But I called today cause I knew that generic message was either very good, or waaaay bad. The rep told me my refund was out of the review dept and back into processing and I should receive it in the next two weeks. I will update when I get a date, as I cant see my transcripts right now. S/N: I dialed the 829-1040 number and accidentally followed a prompt to hear acct details make payments etc…but anyways I got through on the IRS acct payment line and my wait time was only 15 minutes! Employee shortage my @SS! The payments dept is fully staffed lol!

So, ijs, a 4464c does not always mean a long wait. And I think that they are sometimes auto-generated by computers. I mean mine was sent out without there being any information on my transcript at all, not even a record of a return! Hope this helps someone

Last year (2013) I received the IVO letter 2 weeks AFTER I received my full refund. The IRS did not send anymore letters last year nor did they contact me.

This year I filed on 2/3, It was accepted 2/4, I received my full state refund 2/8, On 2/18 I received an IVO letter (the same Exact one I received Last year) the letter was dated 2/13. On my WMR as of 02/23 The bar disappeared and Still says ‘processing’. I am confused on why I received the SAME letter last year (after I got my DD) & this year (Before I get a DD-I’m still waiting). I will post any updated info as I get it.

It’s me again I didn’t sign in. I guess the lady I spoke to the first time didn’t know what she was talking about cause I called back again only to be told that I was indeed in review. Confused, I hung up and called back again to get a self-proclaimed IRS vet who said that there was no way that they were going to release my refund before April(IDK what happened to contacting my school and my employer as the letter stated. I’m too pissed to be sad right now. I just know its coming….A few long weeks from now

Hi there, I also got one of the 4464c letters today but my zeroed out transcripts don’t say anything at all about a notice sent. It says I don’t need to do anything unless they ask me to do something. Which sounds silly in my opinion. “You don’t need to do anything unless you do.”

I’m curious what sort of resolution you’ve had, if any, on this. All my info is the same as last year, I don’t get it other than my refund was just a little larger this year. Just over 6k. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
