I got a 570 TC on my transcript, so I decided to call the IRS. The nice lady on the line let me know that it was a hold for wages due to ACTC. They say they have no w2s for my wife. We know that her w2 is submitted electronically by her employer. Does anyone have experience with this? Should the payroll people send it again or would that cause the IRS to think she got paid twice? This really sucks and I’d just like to make it quick as possible.

**Sense (excuse my typo)
Thank you Ashley and RogerRabbit!Yes, I do have a TA, and it is technically processed when it shows up on your sign in page with your new AGI and refund amount..
The only thing I haven’t had has been the 846 code.

@DeeDeeLTL
How does one find out if they are completely processed? How did you find out that you were processed? Tax Advocate can find that out? -
March 13, 2020 at 2:27 pm #4393217Ashley
I’m sorry! Do you have a TA
-
March 13, 2020 at 12:13 pm #4393156DeeDeeLTL
Hey Ashley,
I saw one person who had updated..
But I have not.. so I’m a little bit sad.. it makes no sense. I was completely processed already, but I was still told between 2-3 weeks.
What since does that make?
-
March 13, 2020 at 11:15 am #4393115Ashley
Has anyone got the w2 verified and received a ddd date?
-
March 11, 2020 at 2:56 pm #4392237T2471
The entire tax advocate service needs to be reformed to work for tax payers. All this stuff about waiting 5 to 10 business days and not being able to talk to a live person is total bs. I’m telling people the only thing that will ever fix problems with the IRS and TAS in the future is if you complain to Congress. They make new laws all the time.
-
March 10, 2020 at 5:06 pm #4391709
Called my local TA and had to leave a message plus have to wait 7-10 days for them to call back. My local ssa will accept my w2 but then they have to do their own investigation. I really hope that maybe I just filed before my employer turned stuff over and I got resequenced. This whole thing is just blah
-

Hey everyone! Has anyone updated yet? I got my TA today was told to fax my last three check.stubs and wait until.4/1 to hear back from her…. anyone else?

Another option is to call a local number in a nearby state. I initially did that, and just requested advice. I did have someone answer my questions. Took a few calls to get through though.
-
March 4, 2020 at 3:56 pm #4388755jcn83
My local phone literally just hangs up on you, that’s why I did the fax. I hate waiting but I’m gonna have faith someone will contact me soon.
-

Yep i got hung up on i called my local ta office and left a message. Hopefully thay will help.
-
March 4, 2020 at 2:05 pm #4388700jcn83
Word of Warning. I held for 3 hours and then it hung up on me. I haven’t heard from the faxed form yet but def the only way to really go unless you get really lucky on phone (call as soon as they open up the lines)
-
March 4, 2020 at 1:20 pm #4388688DeeDeeLTL
It is better to contact your local tax payer advocate By faxing in the 911 form or by calling and leaving a message. What state are you in?
-
March 4, 2020 at 12:59 pm #4388683Ashley
Im trying to get my TA i have been on hold for over 2hrs omg… anyone else have a ta yet?
-
March 3, 2020 at 9:54 am #4387906DeeDeeLTL
Yes, you are spot on. If someone is really in need of those funds, I would definitely recommend that they get a TA.. they are more apt to see faster results then.
But the wages could be updated any day, and If not in immediate need, 4/1 is a month away so I guess it is all about need and preference..
-
March 3, 2020 at 9:49 am #4387903DeeDeeLTL
@GoFigure
I am sorry to hear that. I can understand why your employer might have taken slight offense.. I’m sure they just didn’t understand that it was a sincere inquiry out of concern and not questioning their competence..
-
March 3, 2020 at 9:47 am #4387897Ashley
I agree. From what i understand ssa won’t accept employees w2’s until 4/1 to give employers time. But what’s the difference is the question. Get a TA and see if they can push it through or wait till 4/1 and do it.ourselves looks like our options.
-
March 3, 2020 at 9:44 am #4387892Gofigure
@DeeDee
My employer wasn’t very keen on my second guessing his submitting of his paperwork timely. He said he sent it in January as he does every year for many years. -
March 3, 2020 at 9:41 am #4387890DeeDeeLTL
@GoFigure
most of us have filed our state returns, and already been processed, and some of us have sent W2’s to our state systems, and they should be able to look there and see them.. or use them as a secondary point of reference for those of us whose employers can’t, won’t, or haven’t submitted W2’s.. or for those who have gotten caught up in this backed up system. -

@DeeDee
Nope, still only showing my selfemployment on mysocialsecurity SSA.gov site 🙄 -
March 3, 2020 at 9:22 am #4387881DeeDeeLTL
Has anyone had an update on the SSA website since Sunday/Yesterday?
-
March 3, 2020 at 9:21 am #4387879DeeDeeLTL
@GoFigure
Aww, thank you so much. I truly appreciate your kindness. God Bless you.
I am sure that you are correct, but I’m sure that they extended the date moreso for themselves than they did the employers. The truth is that both the SSA and IRS systems are backed up (for a number of reasons), and they implement all of these new methods to input things more quickly, but it has yet to actually materialize.. Next year I pray will be better for most.
-
March 2, 2020 at 6:01 pm #4387548
Its just another one of their lying stall tactics. Employers do NOT forget to send your W2s to the irs lol. Cmon people.
-
March 2, 2020 at 5:14 pm #4387544Jeremy
But I’m seeing alot of ppl who are under review get a ddd once thier employers info comes in and can be verified. So I thinks that all it is.
-
March 2, 2020 at 5:10 pm #4387540
I thought the same thing….. They pick randoms for review like the cops pick and choose who their going to pull over to meet quota lol
-
March 2, 2020 at 4:58 pm #4387534Jeremy
From what everyone is telling me its going to be awhile before they get to the ones missing employer info. They put it under a 45 to 60 day review and it has to be manually done by a person. Seems like it would be a easy fix and they would just keep trying to process the returns missing that info. Because employers sending in thier info late has to be a common problem.
-
March 2, 2020 at 4:41 pm #4387518
Mine still aren’t showing. But my old employers accountant told me she dropped the paperwork to the dr and his wife to mail out either the 30th or the 31st of January. If they ended up mailing them later then thats the reason for my hold up. I have no clue if it was received and if so when to the IRS or SS
-
March 2, 2020 at 4:25 pm #4387506Jeremy
My wages finally showed up on ssa saturday. I’m hoping things move along quickly now. Hopefully they check every so often to try and match up returns that have been missing the employers info. But i have a feeling that it probally gets pushed to the side for later.
-
March 2, 2020 at 4:09 pm #4387495
When I asked for the fax number, she wouldn’t give it to me either. When I got home I called the hotline number and asked them for the fax number and they’ll kindly gave it to me.
Can the ones who faxed theirs in…. what did you put on your cover letter?I’m just gonna wing it and fax it anyways. -
March 2, 2020 at 4:08 pm #4387494
So i went to the Social Security office today, and what an unpleasant experience. The woman told me the IRS updates their system and that it could take up to a year. When I stated things that others have done/ had happen, she rudely snaps at me and asked me if i worked for Social Security.
-
March 2, 2020 at 11:14 am #4387298Zee
Filed 1/31 with TT, but after a few days 3 W2 came in the mail so I know what the issue. I was told to amend my taxes if something is missing but why do that if Employers sent in W2?
I was told by a IRS rep that transcripts show nothing, but you guys are saying otherwise…Guess I’ll amend it and be patient.
-
February 29, 2020 at 7:56 am #4386158Sara
@deedee yea, don’t understand why they didn’t release it earlier, but I’ll take it. I guarantee that is what most of us are having issue with due to them extending the w3 due date this year to the 15th. We are just gonna wait next year.

Got a tax advocate today and found out that Walmart turned in my husband’s w2 on February 3 which is what caused the hold, because I filed the 28th and when they went to process, it was missing. She said she couldn’t see why they hadn’t released the hold yet since it had been there this long and my return is perfect. She said they are going to get it released ASAP. 💜

I had the direct number to my local SSA office. I called and told them my earnings we’re not all showing on “my social security” SSA website. I told her I could come in and give them my W2 and she said okay and I said of course unless I can fax it, she said sure let me give you the fax number. -
February 28, 2020 at 9:12 pm #4385869DeeDeeLTL
Some people do and some do not, for reasons we are unsure of. I suppose it just depends.
@JCN83 praying for a speedy, but pleasant experience for you!
@Gofigure .. you are the only one who was able to do this successfully.. was there something special you said? Or did you fax Washington directly? I am glad you were able to get through!
-
February 28, 2020 at 8:39 pm #4385857Gofigure
SSA local office accepted my faxed copy of w2…not showing on SSA site but it’s in the system on their end and they said it’s out it in. I’m thinking I filed in January before they received my employer info from their end
-
February 28, 2020 at 3:04 pm #4385619jcn83
Spoke too soon. After 6 attempts fax went through. I hope I get a call early next week saying fax the w2 and this can be over lol

Ssa hasn’t updayed my earnings yet but hopefully they habe and just doesn’t reflect it yet online. I have to wait until Wednesday to get a TA. has anyone had to prive a hardship to get a TA?
-
February 28, 2020 at 12:46 pm #4385517Jamie
@jcn83
I too recommend filling out the 911 form and faxing it to your local office; it is MUCH easier and allows your TA time to research your case before they call you back. My TA was super helpful!! You do have to be 4 weeks from your filing date though before they will start a case with the IRS since most issues work themselves out before the 4 weeks is up.
-
February 28, 2020 at 12:45 pm #4385514Jamie
My 4 weeks is up today; but my TA was super nice and looked at my records to find that they had verified my wages and would be lifting the hold yesterday.
-
February 28, 2020 at 12:39 pm #4385508jcn83
Still no change with IRS or SSA. I am currently holding on the line for TA intake. This should be a fun wait. I was really hoping it would resolve with today’s update. I’m still blown away that no one at the SSA can help us. I’ve had more help from the stinking IRS and that is nuts.
-
February 28, 2020 at 12:27 pm #4385501DeeDeeLTL
@GoFigure
That’s crazy! I was told that the wages uploaded were supposed to reflect on the account within 48 hours.. So I am sorry to hear that. They will get there though!
The TA won’t even touch mine until 3/4 (4weeks), so I will be waiting I suppose.. there isn’t much I can do about it. The IRS reached out to the employer, but they are dragging their feet on responding, which is crazy. Pretty upsetting. Congratulations on your update though!
-
February 28, 2020 at 10:58 am #4385410Twinkle33
For the ones needing a TA, theres this 911 Form that you can fill out and fax back requesting a TA. If they are able to take your case they will contact you in 5 business days. She called me in less than 5 days and told me that she couldnt take my case because mine was listed as fraudulent due to the income being off. Yeah now that part was funny
-
February 28, 2020 at 10:14 am #4385371Jamie
@DeeDeeLTL
My 2019 wages are still not recorded on MySSA! I found out that they processed my W2 through my TA yesterday; he was able to see where the IRS was able to verify my wages through SSA. If it wasn’t for him, I would’ve never known that my W2 had not been processed.
-
February 28, 2020 at 9:32 am #4385315Gofigure
@deedee
They (employer) efiled everyone’s in January. Also they faxed to local office proof the other day and I faxed SSA my w2 as well. Can’t look at transcripts online because of phone, SSA website still doesn’t reflect my w2 this morning. Gonna call the ssa office at 9 and see what the scoop is -
February 28, 2020 at 8:54 am #4385284DeeDeeLTL
@GoFigure
do you know if your employer mailed yours in or uploaded them online? and when?
I hope you receive resolution as well. We are all hoping for the best here.
-
February 28, 2020 at 7:56 am #4385225Gofigure
SSA still hasn’t updated wages online for me on website…hoping it’ll resolve soon. I can’t view transcripts because of phone… Have to mail order
-
February 28, 2020 at 7:39 am #4385205DeeDeeLTL
Well thank God! So you’ll likely have updated with a DDD tomorrow. I can see that the SSA still has not received mine.. hoping that I stand corrected very soon on that. But perhaps we will all be able to get somewhere soon.
My transcripts now have a 570..This will change for the better soon.
What about everyone else?
-
February 27, 2020 at 8:43 pm #4384950Jamie
I have a 570 hold. I’ve talked to a CSR at the IRS as well as a TA. Both have said most 570 holds are wage verifications because the SSA is so far behind in processing paper W2’s! I personally mailed our company’s W2’s to the SSA on 1/15 and they just processed mine on Monday! My TA told me they are not opening any wage verification cases until it has been 4 weeks because of the backlog & most are working themselves out. It’s so frustrating!!
Get a TA ASAP
-
February 27, 2020 at 8:16 pm #4384941DeeDeeLTL
I agree with you wholeheartedly Ashley! You really can’t just let it go. We are our own best advocates! We have to advocate for ourselves if we expect to make any progress.
-
February 27, 2020 at 8:04 pm #4384933Ashley
The only thing i do know is don’t sleep on it. You have to be doing something or it will carry on. I honestly think the only thing that is going to make a difference is a TA and i have heard horror stories abiut TA’s but the one i used last yr got my refund in like 3weeks after i sent over my w2 i just took forever to get a TA bc i have never even heard of them until i started researching what to do.

Exactly. Sucks ALOT
-
February 27, 2020 at 7:42 pm #4384921DeeDeeLTL
We don’t know how long it will actually take to complete this process because of all of the potential variables .
-
February 27, 2020 at 7:42 pm #4384920DeeDeeLTL
2. You will get a bunch of conflicting answers from the reps from either agency because they are not all well versed in the procedure.
-
February 27, 2020 at 7:41 pm #4384919DeeDeeLTL
I have been reading everyone’s comments, and I would like to reiterate a couple of things:
1. There are four ways our wages can be verified: A. Employer via their submission of W2/W3 to SSA. B. The IRS can request the information directly from the employer, but this can be time consuming depending on who you have dealing with this. C. Via a fax through a TA if you are able to take that route. D. From you to the SSA on 4/2 and from them to the IRS if the above methods don’t work.
-
February 27, 2020 at 4:18 pm #4384793
I just spoke to my old employers Accountant. I guess I ended up filing before they submitted it to social security. I filed 1/26 acc 1/27 and they sent out the paperwork to social security either the 30th or the 31st. Long story short… it could be in now… it may not. But ssa.gov doesn’t show as having them so I’ll be going to the office tomorrow
-
February 27, 2020 at 2:22 pm #4384706Ashley
Wow so not even the employer can fix this issue?
-
February 27, 2020 at 1:42 pm #4384668jcn83
Also from “Helpful Efile Hints” on the SSA website
12. When I file W-3/W-2s with the Social Security Administration, do I need to send
anything to the IRS?
Employers and third parties submit W-3/W-2 information to SSA and we forward that
information to the IRS.These people….pfft
-
February 27, 2020 at 1:34 pm #4384664jcn83
https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc752 < lol the first sentence “Employers must complete, file electronically or by mail with the Social Security Administration (SSA), and furnish to their employees Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement (PDF) showing the wages paid and taxes withheld for the year for each employee.” These people are clueless.
-
February 27, 2020 at 1:31 pm #4384660
I spoke to the local social security office here in west palm beach and they stated they get their info and numbers from the IRS. She said being I didn’t have SSI or SSD I didn’t have an acct they could input into. She said it doesn’t give them an option to put that in. She said the IRS transmits the wages to them. I plan to go tomorrow to bring it anyways and I called and left a message for a TA to get in touch with me. I’m soo lost 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
-
February 27, 2020 at 1:05 pm #4384645jcn83
So my wife’s boss has called the IRS and visited the SSA office as two other employees now have the same problem. Shut down both times. The SSA lady he talked to once again didn’t even realize how the system works. We are basically begging to prove the income and no one will listen or let us. I understand they have a lot of these and we aren’t special but it seems to me if a CSR could just see the proof and lift the hold it would save them the grief at the IRS of having to deal with it.
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:31 pm #4383649
So the letter I received today was about me not filing a 2015 tax return. And that I have until Mat 5th to file or they will do it for me. Also, they are holding my entire refund until. So I just did my 2015 taxes and owe $90, and will be mailing out tomorrow. So this is the reason for my 570 & 971 codes.
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:16 pm #4383631PinkPather
Note: I have self employment and IRS reported that to SSA…it’s on my earnings on their website, but my w2 earnings are missing. W2 wages are sent to SSA from employers and then matched up with IRS
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:11 pm #4383624PinkPather
No TA, they never returned my call so I took the bull by it’s horns and moving forward. I’m not going to sit and wait like a sitting duck.
-

@DeeDee
Hi. Yes, my local SSA office said I could fax it (w2). My employer did the same this morning. I’m calling tomorrow to make sure all has been submitted. I typed more info but this website or admin wouldn’t let me post. -

Jenn6701,
The fact that Some people are waiting until nearly the next tax season for their returns to be processed is very disheartening.
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:26 pm #4382824DeeDeeLTL
I’m sorry, Ashley. If that’s the case, she should have told you that instead of letting you think you would be updated in two days.. but there seems to be a lot of confusions, so who knows..
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:25 pm #4382822
She didn’t say she did. She said they just called weekly but they told her the same things over and over. Maybe I could copy/paste her message
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:24 pm #4382817Ashley
It happened to me last yr too. I got mine in May but i also waited longer to get a ta and help. But i was hoping doing it.myself would be faster.

A woman on Facebook told me she had the same issue. She said she had to fax things in, the employer had to send things in and she said she didn’t get her refund til June.

I literally said that last week when I called the SSA, and the rep I was speaking to attempted to tell me that they were waiting for the IRS to transmit my updated wages to them … it is clearly stated/written on federal websites in the procedures!!
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:19 pm #4382806Ashley
Im probably 4/1 as well she just didn’t do it infront of me. Definitely getting a tax advocate next week. I was told to wait till this week passed then i can get one. So thats what im doing. Maybe send our w2’s to the irs? lol ugh this SUCKS and ssa doesnt know what their doing either
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:13 pm #4382798jcn83
I’m at a loss at how the SSA people don’t even know how their system works when the IRS website and the SSA site outlines how it works and in the case of the SSA how employers are to submit the forms to them. Apparently they know as much as their IRS counterparts which is scary and frustrating.
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:06 pm #4382783DeeDeeLTL
This is a mess.. there has to be a better way. Some of us truly do have a need for our refunds. I wish that mattered a bit more.
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:02 pm #4382769
I called and spoke to the SSA hotline I guess…. and the lady there thought they got the wages from the IRS. She then proceeded to check their guidelines. She said if it was a lazy year and it’s from years prior, you could bring it in.
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:02 pm #4382766jcn83
Employers are fined if they don’t send them in. Apparently at some point you can send in your w2 via an advocate to move things forward. Without the SSA reporting we are at the mercy of the IRS’s timing
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:01 pm #4382760jcn83
I’m also not sure why they can’t help. I mean I know the IRS is separate and just uses their reporting, but shouldn’t they know how to handle this situation because it seems like it happens a whole lot.
-
February 26, 2020 at 4:00 pm #4382759
So then what does the IRS go off of if someone’s wages weren’t sent in til Sept?! We’re penalized for the employer taking their sweet a** time?! Something just doesn’t add up.

@Jcn83
I had hoped that you all what have better outcomes when you went into your local office(s).. It was quite disappointing. I don’t understand why they can’t override the system..

February 26, 2020 at 3:53 pm #4382745jcn83
our local office gave us the 4/1 date as well. Seems like I can kiss that refund goodbye for a long while.

@Jen6701
I hope that you have a far more pleasant and expedient outcome than I had with them today.

February 26, 2020 at 3:38 pm #4382699DeeDeeLTL
I’m in CA by the way (not sure if that makes any difference).
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:37 pm #4382692DeeDeeLTL
I asked her if we could escalate it because I sincerely am facing a hardship and she said not before that date of 4/1 for the 2019 tax year. It would be considered an escalation since the employers have until June for the IRS and September for the SSA. But why?! What’s the purpose of the 1/31 date then?

I wasn’t able to get there today but I plan on going tomorrow. I’m in Florida. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

February 26, 2020 at 3:30 pm #4382668DeeDeeLTL
I kid you not you guys. I saw where it ended up being redlined, and that message did truly say 4/1.. maybe there is a difference between being able to upload them and having to manually enter them. Please keep us updated Ashley!
The TA May be the best option if needed..

-
February 26, 2020 at 3:17 pm #4382626Ashley
She didnt do it infront of me i just gave her my w2s and she said it will be updated in abiut 2 business days i really hope we dont have to wait until 4/1 i am going to be so mad ugh
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:10 pm #4382601jcn83
If this can’t be fixed until 4/1 I’m gonna be pissed. The employer offered to send their copy again but I’m afraid that will end up in double income being reported or something.
-
February 26, 2020 at 2:55 pm #4382569DeeDeeLTL
Does anyone have a fax number for the SSA office they were able to send docs to? When I went in today, I was notified that they couldn’t enter it manually until the 1st of April 2nd because that was the system deadline for The employers. She tried it in front of me, and it redlined it with a statement that said we cannot complete the action until After 4/1 to give the employers time..

February 26, 2020 at 11:18 am #4381857jcn83
I hope we have the same response at our SSA office. I wonder if we should we call IRS and let them know the information has been updated or still get an advocate to see if we can goose the review a little.

-
February 25, 2020 at 7:29 pm #4378527DeeDeeLTL
Any updates for anyone who has taken their docs to the SSA?
-
February 25, 2020 at 4:38 pm #4377882jcn83
Employer sends them to the SSA and the IRS accesses their system to match income.
-
February 25, 2020 at 4:37 pm #4377877
But, what does SSA have to do with the IRS? The employer is supposed to directly upload the W-2 to the IRS. What good is bringing our W-2 to SSA going to do?
-
February 25, 2020 at 4:16 pm #4377822Ashley
Exactly, i was told the 9th but we will see
-
February 25, 2020 at 4:14 pm #4377808jcn83
Def. keep us updated. There is a SSA office 3 blocks from my wife workplace and that would be a very easy solution. Trick is to get it done before they review/attempt to process again.
-
February 25, 2020 at 3:59 pm #4377755
I just signed up for an account at SSA.gov too and see that one of my employers’ wages isn’t on there either. Just as I suspected, it’s this very small private company I worked at for two months over the summer. I’ve had nothing but problems with them reporting wages in a timely manner. They screwed up my unemployment too because of not reporting the wages.
So, what do we do about this? Fax over our w-2 or just wait until we get a letter? This SUCKS.
-
February 25, 2020 at 3:47 pm #4377711Ashley
No problem let me know how it goes and ill do the same! Hopefully we get our money within next cpl weeks after its fixed!
-
February 25, 2020 at 3:42 pm #4377689
That’s awesome news!!! I’m going to go down to the local office tomorrow as well. Hopefully I don’t need an appt. Thank you for posting that!!!
-
February 25, 2020 at 3:36 pm #4377657Ashley
Great kinda news lol called ssa AGAIN hour wait lol and you can take ur w2 to the local office they will fix it there.. then hopefully call irs and get things moving faster! I plan to go tmw.
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:54 pm #4377488
Yeah….. super lost!
Is the IRS system on extreme overload and is it their software not updating wages? -
February 25, 2020 at 2:36 pm #4377408Ashley
I just left a voicemail for a tax advocate. I have two w2s from a previous and current job and neither have sent in my earnings to ssa? That makes absolutely no sense. Ssa didn’t even ask for my information.
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:30 pm #4377380Ashley
OMG i talked to ssa and they said it takes upto a year to put in earnings for the previous year? Im LOST
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:26 pm #4377362foxtrot
I have the same ting going on
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:12 pm #4377292Ashley
So the irs rep said im on hold for a review wait until the 9th never said it was my w2 but said they will let me know then what they need. Ugh
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:06 pm #4377272
@jcn83
😂🤣 I said the same thing…. it’s scripted. Is the wait time that the rep puts you on hold for so they can get a drink, maybe use the bathroom or to talk about whomever is on the other line with a coworker?!?! -
February 25, 2020 at 2:04 pm #4377264Ashley
I totally agree im on the phone with irs now and waiting from a call back from ssa I’m going to figure this out. Im not waiting again like last year. This is ridiculous
-
February 25, 2020 at 2:03 pm #4377260
The way their leaving people so lost and left with many unanswered questions is just wrong. They’ve had time to see what’s up and know what’s going on to be able to fix a few things
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:59 pm #4377246jcn83
Lol I’m starting to think they don’t look at our info at all and just pick from a list of things to say.
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:58 pm #4377242
Unless they report as there doing the returns? The man from the IRS said that my wages from a job haven’t uploaded. Almost as if they weren’t sent. He even said the name of the system it needed to update to but kinda muttered it. He stated there was nothing I could do and that I just had to wait. He said it’s reviewed again on 3/9 and a letter will be issued.
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:54 pm #4377223Ashley
Irs told me no issues with my return but obviously there is… and my wages aren’t on ssa website.
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:53 pm #4377220Ashley
I called ssa yesterday and they said they are waiting for the IRS im soo lost right now.
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:50 pm #4377213
Filed 1/26
Accepted 1/27
Had bar and topic til 2/15, got path and then 2/16 the your return is being processed. SSN, HOH and expected refund all to left. Had been like that since. -
February 25, 2020 at 1:45 pm #4377198Ashley
When did you file?
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:44 pm #4377193jcn83
They get the w2 first and it shows up on the account. At least mine has posted. I could be wrong. I do know my income is in there right now for this return though.
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:43 pm #4377188
@Ashley
I honestly have no idea…. going off what others have stated. I saw the one job I had was there but the other jobs wages were not.
The man at IRS yesterday said that wages of mine weren’t updated into their system yet. Then told me I was getting a letter as if 3/9. I’m preparing with having the last 2 months of paystubs from the job and the w-2 ready -
February 25, 2020 at 1:37 pm #4377157Ashley
I thought ssa updates when ur taxes are done?
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:20 pm #4377072jcn83
I am handling most of this for my wife while I’m off but I of course can’t talk to SSA for her. The online account is not showing reported wages. She is gonna call and see if her job should send it again or fax a copy to them to see if that pushes this along. I apparently can’t get an advocate until 2/28. Worst case I hope I can see this refund before I’m in to much of a hardship.
-
February 25, 2020 at 12:58 pm #4376993
I called yesterday and was told the same thing…. that one of my w-2’s hasn’t made it into their system yet. I made an acct on ssa.gov and looked at my 2019 wages. Sure enough… the job with more wages and the one I was at for the longest isn’t showing up. I no longer work there and don’t know what I should do
-
February 25, 2020 at 12:30 pm #4376869Ashley
I agree I think the IRS is doing whatever it wants and saying whatever they want. Honestly, if its past 21 days they give an excuse as to why its held up either review or w2s ect. But i thought ta’s weren’t available until march 10th. Read it on a thread here but i could be wrong. Keep trying u can also call irs and ask if they can fax in w2 ? Either way keep calling both of them.
-
February 25, 2020 at 12:19 pm #4376828jcn83
So just having the w2 faxed directly to IRS now won’t help I guess without he TA? I tried to call to get a TA and the automated system hung up on me and the local number doesn’t even work! I don’t believe that one w2 out of hundreds didn’t make it in. Doesn’t make sense.
-
February 25, 2020 at 12:14 pm #4376810Ashley
@jcn83
I had the same issue last year. Everyone else at my company got their taxes but somehow my w2 never made it. I had to get a tax advocate and got my return middle of May 2019. I am again still processing unable to see my transcripts but was told there is no issue. Also told them same thing last year for about 4 weeks until i got a ta. Good luck but now you know the issue definitely get on it now. I had to have my emoloyer fax in the w2 but it was faxed to my tax advocate last year…
-
February 25, 2020 at 12:13 pm #4376806jcn83
Ok further update. Employer claims sent all w2s in and that others had got their refunds no problem. I am at a loss here.
-
February 25, 2020 at 11:32 am #4376676jcn83
Oh and to make matter a little worse: The person who does all this at her work…yeah her father died last night. This is a fine mess.
