The IRS is beyond full of shit. When you call and they tell you youve been flagged for review, Don’t Believe it! All of these issues are known problems with the IRS. I read this article and just as I suspected, the systems the IRS uses to “flag” fraudulent returns actually harm more legititimate people than they help, and this year with all the additional shit-storms that occurred just prior to and in the beginning of the tax season, its created the perfect storm. The call-center reps don’t know anything, and really can’t look in to much, they can just follow the script and tell you what they’ve been told to say. I am so freaking frustrated with this shit I could spit!

I’m told I am under review, too. Really? I don’t even claim any credit I have one source of income I literally OVERPAID. My refund is literally ALL MY MONEY I want to punch the IRS in their dick.

I filed on Feb 1 was accepted on Feb 2. I had one bar and then a week ago it changed to the still processing message with no codes other than the generic 152. I am in the same boat. The first time I called the guy asked me if I had received any letters and I said no should I have? ( I would think he would at least know that much) so he says well sometimes they send a letter and sometimes they just lift it themselves but you are on a 45 day hold. I called back a few hours later and spoke with a woman who said “well have you had any problems with identity theft” I’m like no does it say that!? I’m just so confused as to why they are asking ME the questions I called them about.

@Tara – me either. I’ve read so much these past few days I’m all sorts of backwards. I just want to see money in my bank account. This has been the most stressful tax season I’ve ever been a part of.Hate it all.Sigh.

@Edgar, Im not even sure myself. I’ve heard some say the tax advocate can slow it more, and some say it speeds it up. Either way, we are at the mercy of the IRS…

What do you recommend, Tara b/c I’m in the same boat. Called and got the review, 45 day schtick. Just wait it out and hope it comes or should we be getting a tax advocate now? I’m now on day 24 since I was accepted.

I called a tax advocate, whom looked up my “case” and said since I had EITC and dependents, that it will be a definite 45-60 waiting period and no sooner. She recommended I fill out a 911 form claiming that the delay is causing me hardship. I am hoping that it speeds things up but I highly doubt it. So beyond irritating
