I came home to a 4464c letter for my fathers taxes yesterday. I guess they have to review his stuff even though he has one of the simplest tax returns I’ve ever seen.

Anyway reading up on past years it looks like I may need to get a tax advocate, never heard of this before.

Anyway, anyone else get one of these or been through this?

Did you happen to file with TurboTax? It seems there are a lot of us early filers that used TT and received the 4464c letter and then nothing. I almost feel like refiling.

I received the letter as well. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t heard anything. My letter says I do not need to do anything but it has me wondering if at this point I’m even getting my return, I know I owed 500$ from last year and they would take it out this year but I’m starting to wonder why this happened, I thought I may have done something incorrectly. Every time I try to call there’s a long wait on the phone and I never get through to an actual person

I received the 4464c letter yesterday dated March 15. Interestingly, I had just called the day before (3rd time) and was told a letter had not been sent. Filed and accepted 2/9/18 with TT. WMR has been in “still being processed” w/ 570 code / 3/19/2018 processing date since later part of Feb. However, the last rep did imply that, most likely, they just need to verify income. So strange, I work for the state in IL, and my husband works for a large hospital in the area, and gen w-2s were uploaded with the filed return.

First year we filed joint return. We own a home and a rental property, so we have deductions. I was thinking that possibly this was the reason. Anyway, anxiously awaiting an update soon. It seems most people haven’t had to wait the full 45 days from the processing date given (3-19-18).

yes I have been having the same issue, there are many others just like this, and it seems like more people are getting audited and are getting there information looks at thoroughly. It is very unusual this year and I am unsure why this year is any different than the last.

I got that letter last year a week after I filed. I had to send in all documents to prove my self employment income. It took about a total of 2 months start to finish for me to finally get my refund and I had to get a tax advocate. Without the help from them I would’ve been waiting for longer and longer.

I got that letter last year a week after I filed. I had to send in documents showing my self employment income and then after getting the advocate to help it still took close to 2 months to get my refund.
