I first was with IRS refund line, than I got transferred, to Identification verification, now back with IRS who said that it had nothing todo with my address… That in 2012 someone stole my identity and tried to submit a return… So now from 2012-2018 they’ll be “manually” reviewing my return to ensure my protection… Now I’m being told it can take up to 12 weeks due to the “glitch” in PC having to have my returned processes again. What pisses me off is the level of inaccuracy as well the lack of knowledge these reps have.. Took me having to speak to four people before finding out what’s going on. I’m going to find a way to this rectified. I asked the guy if this happened in 2012 why was I NEVER made aware, as a customer hell human being I should’ve been informed that my identification was tampered with smh… I refuse to wait 12 weeks!!

No.. you can’t speed it up.. Amending would take longer! Now it is just waiting.. Nothing we can do.. If you have anything that’s considered a hardship you can obtain a tax advocate…
You can only do this after the 21 days are up.. I had to get one last year.. Filed 1/29, Didn’t reach IRS until 2/2, 2/24 called told ID Verify, Obtained Tax Advocate who called me 3/2 .. Had DDD 3/23
I’m not sure if the advocate helped or if it would have taken just as long without her… Either way I’ll see if I can get one again, if refund doesn’t show by 21..

I found out about this pin before filing.. I called to see if I had one, so this wouldn’t happen..

I did not have one..These pins are suppose to mailed out in December…
I’m going to see what I can do to request a pin for next year…

          IT JUST SUCKS!

I literally wasn’t told anything!!! Im just hearing about this… I was able to obtain it online though. Should I amend my return or call the IRS and reference this pin I now know? Will either of these speed the process up?

              I’m in the same boat

Same year.. I didn’t know about it either.. No one notified us!

              What really pisses me off…
They made a resolution for this..
              Called an IP PIN
it’s not the same as your electronic pin

This is for people like us who are going through this… They snail mail a pin and you don’t get flagged.. I ask about this and they flat out said NO.. I figured I wasn’t on the list anymore!

              HA!
Not the case.. This is the first time I’ve heard I’ll be flagged for 2 more years..

I saw another person who was flagged 7 times in 10 years…
