I filed E-File with a friend of mine who works for a small tax preparer’s office on 1/21. Did a schedule C just as I have done 6 of the past 7 years (except last year). Accepted on 1/22. Had one bar consistently that it was received until last Friday 2/6 my WMR bars disappeared and a message “Your tax return is still being processed.” “A refund date will be provided when available.” No tax topics or letters are noted or have been sent to me or my preparer. My full amount is still listed as well. Is my return just taking abnormally longer than usual or am I being audited of some sort?

Mine did the same thing.now 21+ days has gone by and I’ve called everyday the last few days and they said im being reviewed and I will get a letter in the next few days dated for 2/23 and it will be 60 days after that to be done. They said it’s dated in advance because their computers were built in the 60’s and that’s how they stay up to date. I told the lady I have an eviction letter (I really do) and she filed for me to get contacted by a tax advocate within the next 7 days. I’ve heard the advocates can work wonders. I called back yesterday because i saws lot of people with identity theft and it got me thinking and that target breach in 2014 we were part of, but she said now that it’s on the way to the advocate they can’t answer anything.

There’s really no way to know until something shows up in the transcripts. If nothing changes by Tuesday you could call them and they should be able to tell you something. Live person line is (800) 829-0582 Ext. 652

Some will tell you that missing bars means you are under review, but from what I’ve read here and elsewhere that is not always the case.

If you talk to them Tuesday (should be under 45 minute wait for an operator) and you still have any questions the best place to go is “Bart’s Thoughts”. He answers questions several times a day on that thread and seems to know these things inside out.

Crystal – I checked my transcripts this morning also. It just says N/A?

Mine is also like that on WMR but I checked my transcripts and it’s been updated to refund issued as of today. I’d suggest checking that since it’s more up to date than WMR.
