21 Day Hold is so the IRS can be lazy. Agree?

I agree with this. Mine has been stuck on processing for over two weeks, no error, no letter, and they won’t tell me why until it hits 21 days on February 19. IRS reform is absolutely necessary.

By the way, if the IRS worked hard, there wouldn’t be tax payer advocates.

The people getting mad make me laugh. How is it wrong to believe that not telling people they were selected for ID verification, or audits, etc is lazy when they can do it well before 21 days. I’m not talking about refunding in less, I’m saying it’s laziness not to tell people the issues with their refund when they already know there’s an issue.

It’s laziness, plain and simple. Nothing to do with America, a lot to do with the IRS. I don’t see why people made this political. The IRS is lazy.

Well, I don’t think it’s about them being lazy or not, I think a couple of issues come into play. Outdated software/hardware/procedures and updates to the tax code. Things like that. Reform would be nice for better transparency. I don’t mind waiting so much as I do mind waiting and then finding out almost past 21 days that I won’t be receiving it or there is an issue that I could have resolved 10 days ago, but have to wait another 10 days to get resolved.

They are drilled not to give out information before 21 days, but I think that’s because the information could be wrong if you check too early, or they could end up researching an issue that isn’t actually there. Just like how people receive error codes that actually mean nothing and still receive refunds.

@Aprile just because they collect our taxes over the course of a year doesnt mean they can refund 140mil people in under 21 days. please tell me you are more educated than this.

I don’t get it. If I don’t like what I’m reading. I go read something else. It’s simple. Let ppl do what they want. Freedom of speech period. It’s not like these ppl are living with u. Chill. Ppl are gonna do what they want regardless. Everyone has their own personal lives mostly in different states and cities. Who cares how who feels about whatever. Give ur info on the topic. We might get it if we had less democrats and republicans and more independents who listened to their constituencies in Congress. Most people don’t even know what the word incumbent means, though, when they vote they just see D and R… so we have a solution to the IRS and many other issues. We’re just not taking advantage of our power.

I am not saying we don’t want our money nor am I saying they should hold but really folks they have had it a year already and more than half the amount your getting (us PATHers) we didn’t even put in… the govt put that portion in so technically no that’s not ours. Be grateful and if it takes 30 so be it. Y’all wait on those Jordan’s to drop for 30 days y’all can wait on these dollars for a bit too be sensible y’all seriously

Well it is our money so why should we wait ya know? It should be less than 21 days but I’m sure they have it in place for a reason.

Can u imagine if it wasnt a 21 day rule? They would be swamped 10 minutes after folks file “just because” but there are def areas for improvement Americans are the most impatient and self centered folks. It’s sad really.. we have such a cushioned life (even at the worst it’s still better than ALOT of places out there folks) we think us us us and now now now.
