Thought I’d make a new injured spouse group since they live discussion didn’t give us much information that helps us.

Getting frustrated l
We filed IS with our regular tax form and it was accepted 2/4. Got an as of date 2/28 and it’s been stuck there since early February. No update, no additional action. This actually seems slower than last year. I keep checking for an update but there is none.
Accepted 2/19, as of date 3/8 NO UPDATE. AS OF DATE IS STILL THE SAME AND STILL SAYS PROCESSING
Sorry as of date 4/4
Transcript finally updated 4/2!!! Everything looks good just need the 846 code to release funds. Fingers crossed that happens soon. Going back previous years I see the 846 a couple weeks before my as of date, we’ll see
ArreyisCrossing my fingers that we all get an update tonight or tomorrow. I’d literally give a toe for an ‘as of’ date change just so I know they’re working on it.
ArreyisI really was hoping that this year would be slightly better with me filing my IS when I filed my original return. No such luck. I’m pretty aggravated. This morning I read an article that said that of those of us who make $25k or less up to 13 in 1000 will be audited, and for those who make 2.5Mil or more it’s 3 in 1000, and we’re supposed to sit here and trust the IRS. Right.
hon.
Still nothing !
Filed IS 2/3 and Code 570 had date of 2/28, then 3/14 and now has been back to 2/28. Extremely frustrating that there’s been no update for 4 weeks now. WMR had said return received and now just says processing. I feel like we are in the processing black hole.
ArreyisUgh, @jessi2217 I feel for you hon. That has to be so damned frustrating. I’m still 3/14 with nothing updated. Hopefully we get ours soon!!
Arreyis@judah hopefully that means those of us who filed shortly after you are next!! I filed the first week of Feb and was accepted the same day. Could really use that refund right about now.
As of date still 3/7 NO UPDATE 😡
Filed with injured spouse on January 28 accepted same day updated overnight to DDD for 3 16
Hello guys..
Just wanted to drop in and say that if you file injured spouse due to student loans that this year you won’t need to because the offsets are on hold until May or Nov I believe. I filed with TT (without form) and was accepted 2/28 and rcvd my DD today! That’s the fastest I have EVER rcvd my refund. So you don’t have to wait for that form. Good luck and speedy refunds to all.ArreyisSame, still 3/14 as of and I’m sure that’s gonna be changed to a later date tomorrow. Ugh. I understand they have to make sure they follow the rules, but even a partial “we know you get at least this much” refund you be nice.
Still no update for me, no codes, no nothing. As of date stayed at 12/2021.
So no update again this week. A few weeks ago my as of changed from 3/7 to 3/14 and then back to 3/7. Processing date shows 2/21. I filed and accepted through TaxSlayer with is form on 1/28. Ugh I hate the waiting game.
According to my calculations my 11 weeks will be up April 15th. I am so hoping it will be done before that.
Mines the same and I’m getting really mad. I’ve never waited this long, I usually always have it before the 14th.

ArreyisAnybody see an update or a DDD with this Friday’s update? I’m really hoping to see something tomorrow morning after they finish updating tonight, my as of is still 3/14 but nothing has changed. Still sitting on a 570. I generally see my updates on either Thursday or Saturday morning, even though most everyone else sees them on Wednesday or Friday.
ArreyisOh that’s annoying, looks like I posted my original comment after all and it just didn’t go through til after I had left the forum.
ArreyisKatiya, are you sure you filed the IS form? I tried to file it through HR block for a week or so at the end of Jan/ beginning of Feb and they didn’t even have the form ready. If it was available, there could have been an issue in HR blocks system. Download your return from their website and make sure it’s there. If they took the offset already, unless it’s a tax debt, then they didn’t receive your IS cause you’d still be waiting like the rest of us.
ArreyisIf the IS form isn’t in your return, you’ll need to either send it separate or file amended. I’d call the Tax Advocate number (there’s a link at the very bottom of this page that takes you to that info) and see what they say.
ArreyisKatiya, have you checked your return to be sure that your IS form was filed? Lots of us had issues filing with HR block and TT because they didn’t have the IS form ready. If you did fill it out, maybe there was an issue through their website and it didn’t get sent. If they got your IS form you’d still be waiting for your return to process like the rest of us.
KatiyaWe filed through HR inline on February 22 and received a letter today that they offset the entire refund. The debt is mine, the entire income is his. It’s like they skipped over our IS form as this didn’t happen the 3 years prior. Has this happened to anyone else? We can’t get ahold of anyone. The letter states theu already applied the entire refund to my account. No clue what happened or what to do.
My as of date is still 3/7 and I have no update..
ArreyisI think it really just depends on how fast they work them. Last year from the time they started making updates to my transcript to the time they sent me my refund was about four weeks. This year they started making changes to my transcript about a week after I filed, so maybe it will be faster.
I know it says it takes 11 weeks for an e-filed return with an injured spouse form, but has anyone gotten their refund sooner than that?
I ended up using Tax Act. Free for federal and state forms and I e-filed the injured spouse form the same day. Thanks so much!
ArreyisMy as of is still 3/14. I was hoping for an update today, but nothing has changed. I think I’m looking at next week before anything else changes, which sucks because we really could use the money.
@ Arreyis did you as of date stay 3/14 or did it go back to 12/2021?
ArreyisI filed and was accepted the same day as you Leeda, with the same processed/as of date of 3/14. Hopefully we see some movement soon. I could really use the money for bills and getting caught up.
I filed abs got accepted 2/7, last week it updates to 3/14 then went back to 12/2021. So far no update this week
ArreyisLast year I filed IS form separate from my Original and I waited until September to get just the UI portion back. Too much of a pain now to go back and amend it or try to get the rest, but that’s probably what I should have done in the first place with all the changes they made.
Klaa_purdy@arreyis I’ve been checking everyday, however no movement. I’m hoping & praying that my as of date doesn’t get pushed back again. Last year they did that to me & it took forever to get my return. I read an article stating that the irs had to move people around to help with processing returns. It just sucks because it seems like the people who file as an injured spouse gets put on the back burner all the time. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
ArreyisKlaa_Purdy have you have any further movement? You as of date is just a few days away! @Susasn I used TaxAct to file, as even H&R block was telling me that the IS form wasn’t available. I refuse to use TT after how dirty they did me last year.
Klaa_purdy@susan I used a different tax software this year because of turbo tax constantly pushing back the availability of the injured spouse form being available.
So far upon checking my transcript I have an as of date of 03/07/22; I filed on 02/11/22
Hope this helps!!I used Turbo Tax this year and it has gone back and forth on when I can file the injured spouse form. Currently its now on 3/10, up from 3/17. But i be noticed some of you said you used other tax preparation software and didn’t have to wait?
There’s gotta be more injured spouses than this
ArreyisWoops, sorry meant beginning of Feb. Like the 2nd or 3rd is when I filed. :)
ArreyisSo far they seem to be processing faster than last year. I filed at the end of Feb and already have an as of date showing Mar 14 and processing date of Mar 14, and there are lines where it shows them divvying up our refund between CTC and EIC. Hoping for a refund date soon. Would be nice to get it before rent is due but I think that’s a pipe dream.
My as off date changed back to 12-2021 🤦🏽♀️
My transcript FINALLY updated accepted 2/7 as of date 3/17.
Ugh!!!
I filed and was accepted on Jan 28. I have a processing date for Feb 21. My as of date has changed from 2/21 to 3/7 and now to 3/14. Ugh I wish they would just get it done already. This is making my husband want a divorce so I don’t have to go through all of this for his cs arrears.
Hopefully next week. But my 8 weeks don’t end until March 25th so I guess I will just have to wait and see.Levi89Took a gamble this year I didn’t files IS. File date 02/17. No update yet on my end.
What is TT paid fees? Sorry, I just cant figure that term out. I filed last year without IS and I got ours back with in 2 weeks.
I filed last Thursday the 17th and nothing yet………. Thanks in advace.@leigh17 I filed on 2/10 with TT paid fees in advance. Couldn’t believe it was the fastest I’ve ever gotten a refund. Wishing you good luck and speedy refund. I always file injured spouse for my wife’s student loan debt, this year I took a gamble without IS since they suspended offsets for them. I was in shock, I’m always waiting until march.
Congrats @soundclutch. How long was the process? I filed the 17th and nothing other than received. But, there was a holiday monday.
Received my refund today. If you or your spouse have student loan debt, no need to file IS this year. Couldn’t believe it but my risk was actually rewarded. Good luck to everyone. See you next year
I’m still waiting for an additional due to the unemployment refunds from last year. It’s literally rent money! This is ridiculous. TT has return updated when I look at it but for some reason the IRS still hasn’t done anything to update it on their end.
Well this morning my as of date changed from 2/21 to 3/7. Processing date still 2/21. Checked offset line they still haven’t processed it that far yet. Ugh I hate the waiting game. But path message gone and just have the message” your return is being processed” no bars. So that’s something I guess.
Anyone else out there that has student loan debt not file IS this year? Filed jointly with all the credits, taking a chance this year due to “suspension of offsets” for student loans.
Klaa_purdyThank you everyone for sharing that your using an alternative tax software. I’ve always used turbotax & for some reason they keep pushing back the availability to file an injured spouse. I was so devastated. Bad enough we all have to wait so long for our tax refunds. Thanks to everyone advice I used a different tax software. I filed with Taxact. Fingers crossed everything goes well, so far so good. Good luck everyone!!
for the first time I am not going to file IS form. With the protections in place until May 2022 I’m going to take a chance. I’ll keep everyone posted as to whether or not I end up being offset (wifes student loans, filing jointly)
I filed Saturday with freetaxusa accepted this Tuesday. I initially started with TT but i couldn’t sign it to finalize because they stated irs was not accepting IS form until 2/10 which later changed to 3/17. Which is weird because I did not have that issue with freetaxusa.
PTBCan someone tell me what day they filed I did mines on 1/31 and my tax preparer said it was rejected the reason was because of the system having a glitch in it gave her that reason for it being rejected but I want to know if anyone in this group filed later then the 31st and got a approved code? I have no reason to doubt my tax preparer she has been doing my taxes with no problem for 15 years I just want to know if anybody else injured spouse form has been rejected on that day or later..
Thylwrh04I noticed the same thing!
I went ahead and filed through freetaxusa and was accepted the following day. Transcripts have not updated yet but I’m hoping Friday it will show something
KatUpdate
I updated to path message yesterday. So things are going smoothly… I guess. Just gotta hang in there.
If anyone is having issues filing with IS, check out TaxSlayer. I was able to send it through and filed for free.@Leeda
What is “Weekly” or “Daily”?
Your IRS Account is identified as either being updated weekly or daily. Cycle codes ending in 01, 02, 03, 04 are daily accounts. Cycle codes ending in 05 are weekly accounts, but in some cases, they may be daily.Ugh, how do you know whether your a weekly or daily?
I filed 1/28 with IS form. I used TaxSlayer which was free. I am also a pather. My transcript updated yesterday as I am a weekly with an as of date of 2/21. WMR still shows 1 bar and no path message yet. I think some of the IS things have to do with the software. But idk I just know that I was able to send it with my IS form.
I filed last week of January through TT and it stated it would complete the filing once IRS accepts the IS form which should be 2/10, I logged in TT and now it stated 3/17. Idk what’s going on
