Hello,
I am currently confused on how to proceed with my 2019 and 2020 federal tax returns.
Here is the current situation:
My 2019 Federal Taxes were sent in paper form, and I am still waiting for them to be processed. The last I checked on the status of paper returns it showed that they have 6.9 million backlogged. I feel I am left in limbo with my only option is to keep waiting until they work through the backlog of paper tax returns.
My 2020 Federal Taxes keep getting rejected. Here is the message I keep getting from Turbo Tax “The primary taxpayer’s AGI or Self-select PIN from last year does not match IRS records.” The problem is that the AGI from 2019 is correct, but has not yet been processed. So the options I have is to keep waiting until my 2019 gets processed or I mail in my tax return. I am anxious to mail in my tax returns because of how the mail-in tax returns were handled this past year.
I am looking for some insight and advice on the best course of action. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
