Hello,
I mailed my 2012 tax return on the 3 year due date past the original due date. So, it was post marked and sent out on that date. I was under the impression that as long as a return was postmarked on a deadline the IRS would accept it. I received a letter declining the return amount because they did not receive the return until mid may. I want to appeal and am meeting with a lawyer next week but want a general idea if I have any chance of getting that money back.
Thanks,
Evan
