2/27 DDD, Post here! – Chime card

If there is an offset, will the money always be delayed by a week or so (the remaining amount)? Mine is for $78, not for DOE.

mines says applied to offset but i hve no debts when i called the number

I was going to say maybe it’s Chime but I have a friend with a GreenDot account and it’s saying the same thing about sent but she haven’t received it. I have an student loan but it was way less than my refund it says my refund is now 0$ because of the offset and when I check credit karma it’s saying my student loan is paid off

I’m so confused it said sent 2/27 and now it says my refund went to an offset. I’ve never owed back taxes and I have no student loans… I’m so lost lol

For the ones who refund said the DDD 2/27 and the status says sent, did any of u have past student loans that were not paid off ?

Hi so IRS website said refund was sent to my bank 2/27 and now it’s saying that my refund has been applied to an offset but when I call the offset number it says I don’t owe anything and I have no offsets.

Irs sent to bank on 2/27 and still my refund has not posted smh Also I called to see if I have any offsets and I don’t. This is ridiculous. Of course Chime only has the same old automatic responses.

According to chime our refunds are sent to the Federal Reserve Bank first. That takes 2 to 3 business days and then monies should hit our accounts

You may want to try calling the IRS Offset line. Especially if your WMR status says sent with a 203 code. Half the people who haven’t received theirs are coming back to find their refund was intercepted by an old debt. Then others are still working to figure out where there’s was sent to. Happening to people with traditional banks as well.

I will never use Chime again for my refunds…this is the first year where they have been held by the bank. The IRS sent 27th and they still haven’t received this is bullshit. This will be the last time they get my refund again!

I filed my taxes in 1/31. And have been checking updates like it said. It was accepted and says it was sent 2/27. It’s now 3/1 and I still don’t have it. This is not helpful for early deposit.

Got my refund at 5pm with chime

I had few taken out through HR Block, I’m on the east coast and my DD hit @7:01pm.. Then their system went down smh.. Maybe that we’re having issues and that why people’s refunds were delayed or maybe the release them in waves.. the west coast seemed hit first the central and mid west the. Finally easy coast after 6:30pm this is just a Theory based on what I saw people post earlier don’t quote me lol

Alright so I just had a SCAREEEE!!!!

Requested a new card from chime 2 weeks ago. Received it and activated it yesterday. My intuition said, check your routing information. I did and I had a different routing number (same account number though). I instantly called Chime. Not only do I have a refund being DD but I also get paid from my job tomorrow. Chime tells me that everything is fine, they have two routing numbers either way it’ll still be deposited into my account. I’ve never heard of this but, I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I hope chime doesn’t have any mess with them. Especially with the new cards (chips) etc

Called 1-877-908-7228 (a number if sbtpg received your refund) put in all the information they asked me, they told me my refund is pending 2/26 and will be in my account in 1 or 2 days.

I’m in Florida also (Miami) I filed 1/28 was accepted 1/29. Path message 2/15 updated on 2/23 with a DDD 2/27. Files with same tax preparer for the last 13 years , fees taken out no update on stpg. I need it to deposit today!

I filed 1/26 …Accepted 1/28….. my state taxes were issued on the 12th but recieved on the 10th…..My fed has updated 2/27 i used turbo tax and chime…..the bank turbo tax says they sent my refund after take fees 2/26 hopefully that means today I get my taxee. Ill let you know by 8pm.

So I’ve been lurking here never posted but I feel obligated to give you guys some info since you all have helped me so much these last couple weeks.

My deposit hit my chime account this morning around 8:30 AM. I was accepted 2/4 and had a 2/27 DDD. I had EITC but other than that my return was simple. No fees taken out either so that’s probably why mine hit before you all. I’m assuming you guys will get it over night/tomorrow morning. Wish you all luck!

Fees are taken out before we get a DDD, speaking off of previous years experience, upon DDD deposits have normally been deposited two days before DDD with the remaining balances after associated fees from preparer already taken out 🤷🏽‍♀️

Taxes accepted on 1/14. Filed through hr block. Only message received is “taxes have been delayed. Called last week and was told everything is fine, nothing wrong. Called today, was told taxes are under review and now I have to wait 45 days from today. No answers as to why there is a review or details at all for that matter. Claimed EITC. Nobody can give me any answers:(

Honestly it depends on both. When you got your DDD, it said you had up until March 4 to receive it. Granted if you had fees taken out, it could take longer. When the IRS deposits into bank of preparers, then when they deposit into your bank.

So basically the Treasury or whoever sends the batches of refunds out started sending them last night. So it’s out of their hands and the preparers and/or banks has the money. We are waiting on the banks or cards to post. Did I get that right?

I’ve filed with hrblock for the past 3 years. Always had fees taken out. I’ve also always received my refund before the dd. They deposit ANY time during the day. It just depends on when they receive it. I’ve noticed deposits around after 6pm and before 1am with my refunds. Hold tight! They are coming!

My Tax refund DD date is also 2/27. I’m in Philadelphia (Patiently Waiting) still nothing at 6:46pm. I guess this means it’ll be in there tonight between 10pm and 11pm. That’s usually how my Wednesday paycheck comes in on Monday night. I was hoping for earlier because I have a lot to do. Literally as soon as I get it, I have to pay bills. Yes I had fees. It’s weird this year. My little sister also used chime her DDD was 2/27 she also had fees taken out, she received her refund early this morning and also lives in the same area as me.

Last year I got mine via SBBT to Chime at 530, the day of. I’m in Vegas (from Florida) & that’s my stash. Fingers crossed… for sooner!

Yea this pretty much sucks especially when other Chime users with fees or no fees still received their refunds 2 days earlier today. I, myself didn’t have any. Since I received my state refund 2 days earlier last week, my best hope is I’ll receive it this evening. 😏

@wes I’m just saying I’ve never experienced this with netspend, but I do understand getting the date this past Saturday it was a possibility that it wouldn’t post today because the check was just sent out over the weekend and it’s really no time for a deposit to hit on Monday but at the same time don’t advertisements as such is what draw customers in hopes of that happening

@Unique i understand wanting it two days early, but at the same time, its a luxury. Plus if you check Chime’s tax return FAQ they clearly state that they cannot guarantee you will get your return 2 days early

I use chime and for the first 2 or 3 payrolls I’ve I had I got my payroll 1 day early, and this most recent payroll came 2 days early in the evening I was pleasantly surprised. I’m hoping that’s the case with the deposit. I’m sure we will all know something by this evening. Everyone has been providing such helpful tips

So glad I’m not alone waiting . I am in Ohio and i got half my refund on NetSpend at 10:55 pm but the half I had deposited to chime. Nothing yet. 2/27 DDD . No fees and I double checked account and routing . At this point triple checked lol

Hey has anybody filed with chime before do , do they usually release your refunds 2 days early ?

I hope we get ours tomorrow night, I’m using chime as well and usually get paid 2 days early if not definitely a day early….

I use chime as my direct deposit at work. Wanted to use it for my return but slipped my mind until too late. Have an emerald card

I had Chime last year too. No middle initial on account but there is on tax return. There was no issue. Unless they changed protocols, I think the middle initial is a moot point.

My hubby got his deposited last Tuesday at 6 PM which was the day after president’s day… I’m thinking we will see ours sometime tomorrow-evening.

@aleshia I just messaged them the same question and they told me that at least one name on the refund from the IRS has to be on the chime card. That’s what saved us. Husband doesn’t have Chime and I do, but he is the primary on our refund. Were safe cause my name is also on the refund.

So we got a DD of 2/27 I’m using the Chime card and found out today the name has to match the account for it to be deposited I have reached out because my fiance and I have sent his refund to my paycards before with no problem but I have a problem we won’t see his for a while.

Thanks for the reply. I honestly always though it was a post dated type of situation, where funds were sent, but not to be deposited until specified. Which I guess is similar to what you are saying I guess

The reason you get paid 2 days early is because your institution is notified of an incoming amount to be deposited from your employer. The same would happen if the irs starts the process early. If your institution is notified of an incoming deposit from the irs with a specific amount, you will most likely get a deposit into your account before actual funds are sent.

I also have a card that I usually receive payroll 2 days early. WMR says the funds will be “sent” to the bank on the 27th. If they aren’t sent until the 27th, how would we get them 2 days early? . Are they sent on early and post dated for the 27th?

So we won’t receive funds until between Monday 9pm eastern -6:30 pm Tuesday. That sucks! What if u have fees coming out…????

Opening of Fedwire Funds Service 9:00 p.m. ET on the preceding calendar day
Cut-off (Foreign Payment Orders) 5:00 p.m. ET
Cut-off (Other than Settlement Payment Orders) 6:00 p.m. ET
Cut-off (Settlement Payment Orders) 6:30 p.m. ET
Please note: The Federal Reserve Banks funds transfer business day begins at 9:00 p.m. ET on the preceding calendar day and ends at 6:30 p.m. ET regardless of the Reserve Bank’s geographic location or time zone. For example, on a Sunday, the Fedwire Funds Service will open at 9:00 p.m. ET with a cycle date of Monday, although transfers sent from 9:00 p.m. to midnight ET on Sunday will settle in real time on Sunday.

Going by this those of us with a 2/27 ddd that have Chime cards can expect to see a deposit anytime between 9 p.m. ET Monday (the preceding day for a Tuesday cycle) and 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.
