So long story/question. My son is 18, turned 18 in July of last year. This is his first year filing income tax return and it is a doosie. So i have 2 daughters that chose to do other things with their lives and we had to take 3 of the kiddos. I already had 4 so my son being the sweet boy he is got a full time job and basically supported the 3, he even got electricity on and paying bill for one of them so she has heat. So he is claiming them on his taxes with the parents permission since he took care of them. My only concern is are they going to question because he was still a minor last year? Everything is legit, not being fraudulant at all, just his taxes are not even getting the path message when everyone that filed after him is, any input would be great Please no bashing just need some input

As long as no one puts those kids info on another tax return he should be okay. He might get reviewed depending on if there are any flags with the IRS system but only they would know if there would be any.

He may have to prove why he’s claiming the dependents, who they lived with, support, etc.
