So I’ve been told the last 3 weeks that they’ve mailed a 12c letter. Each week it’s a different date. Haven’t received anything. Can I fax these papers without a letter? And is it really another 6 weeks just to prove I had insurance, not Obama Care all year.

12c letter received 2/10
Priority Mailed with delivery confirmation the forms back on 2/12. Was told by an idiot when I called on 2/10 that I needed to include a 1040x as well and indicate the changes because their system had information on me that was wrong. And they only accept amends by mail so mailing it was my option.
Called about 1000 times until someone finally did their job and told me that I needed to fax the forms using the supplied control number from the 12c on 3/1.
Calling after 5 pm gave me less than 10 minute waiting times and the nicest people repeatedly, so I always called at around 5pm after noticing the pattern. being close to the end of their work day, it made sense that they were nicer.
Faxed forms 3/2@5:32pm EST and wmr rebate changed from still processing no topic to the normal processing message with tax topic 152 as soon as I got back from faxing it. Wow that’s fast I thought…its about time shit was moving along. Hope it keeps going smooth…
Woke up this morning and checked wmr for the heli of it and bamm… Wmr says DDD by 3/8 .

I filed on 1/18 got accepted on 1/20
Recived letter 0012C on 2/6
Mailed the forms back that same day Checked today and Got a DDD of 3/1 -

Option 1 they would request the documents to be submitted after 14 days.
Option 2 they would make a final decision with the information provided.
I would recommend to complete the form and supply it ASAP.

I had the same letter, I faxed my info in on the 17th and have a ddd of 3/1…it holds it up about 2 weeks. Just fax your 8962 and 1095 a

I’m in the same predicament. I received the letter and Fax the required information. I also faxed additional forms for other individuals who did not received the letter but I predict they will be faced with the same situation. Although the letter specifically addresses what they are seeking for that tax prepare the other individuals have called to confirm if the delay was the medical/insurance documents. This tax refund year has been one confusing journey after another.
