I filed with taxact on 1/20. Was accepted within minutes but have been stuck on one bar ever since. At first it was no big deal but now I’m starting to get worried, it has never taken this long in the past.
Any other 1/20 filers still waiting on a DDD?

I am also a 1/20 and 1/20. Used Turbotax. Been stuck at 1 bar since. Turbo taxes tracker says 26% of the people that filed the same day I did have received their money.

Still on first bar, why are others with a later acceptance date getting their DDD. Last year I had mine in a week and a half. ? -

To ease some minds:
Taxact filled on 01/19
Received on 01/20As of 02/03 still one bar and no DDD. Called to order transcripts and couldn’t even find me in the system. Called the IRS this morning and she stated there were NO issues with my return and they it is currently processing. She stated to allow the full 21 days to receive refund.

Everyone has had budget cuts and layoffs at their jobs. But we still have to get shit done in a timely manner.

OMG people, it’s been 13 days. Chill the fuck out, as they have made it clear to allow 21 days.
There were massive budget cuts this year, resulting in a LOT less people processing our returns.
Calling the IRS 11 times a day and checking the website just as much is fruitless on day 13, regardless of how long it took in the past.

1/20er here. Still 1 bar. Great post April, made a lot of sense. Much like her, my estimation is we’re at the 1 yard line here, and probably tomorrow for a DDD, so get those new shoes in the cart!

I’m a 20th too!
I have one bar, one transcript (account), and a topic of 152…I called the irs, spoke to a person (sweet girl, too) and she said that I should basically just chill out. There is nothing wrong with my return, my EIC and CTC are fine. No updates on wmr is apparently a good thing, as it just means the IRS is overloaded – if there was a problem, you would know what is and how to correct it by now. As a database administrator and Systems analyst with a masters in computer science, I believe this. If over 2 million ppl filed on the 19th & 20th and the ibm mainframes can only process 65k records per batch and each batch takes a different amount of time as no two records are the same length then, yes, the machine is gonna grind and grind and grind until it hits an overflow error, thus stopping the batch until a human goes in and resets the processing job, causing delays until the IT people go in and tell it to re-run the batch job from where it crashed. I’m simplifying for laypeople, any AS/400 or Tivoli admins want to chime in with details of batch accounting nightmares, feel free…
At any rate, I digress — Although there are multiple batches per update, the master file and the wmr tool are only synced once per day after the 3:30-6am reset/recycle window (which is at a slightly different time from day to day and person to person due to the individual’s return updating their master file record in realtime)
The software they are using (MeF v.4) is shitty and still full of massive holes, security and otherwise (but mainly in the garbage cleanup and batch automation code). I’m certain it’s based on NSA’s open source Read the Bart topics in the other forum here to learn more, see also https://www.irs.gov/uac/Modernized-e-File-Application-Excise-Tax-E-File
Search google for ‘2016 production issues call log’ to see more about the delays. There are lots of problems this week they’re still trying to solve.
I guess my point is that no movement is a good thing, believe it or not. It means your train is still on its tracks, albeit stalled in line. Based on all of the data and all of the variables I can gather up, I think that all of us 20th filers (and any stragglers from the earlier groups) are looking at an update tonight for DDD’s of Feb 3rd or 5th. I was told that “there’s no way it would be as far away out as the 12th” so… Hope Springs Eternal!
Have faith and don’t give up hope! As for me, I’ll be enjoying one of the oldest and most hallowed tax time traditions of the women in my family: drinking box wine and window shopping on the Internet while we wait! =P <3 <3

I filed 1/19 but wasn’t accepted until 1/21 with H&R Block. Still 1 bar, attempted to order transcripts for the first time ever and was only able to order account. Still at 1 bar, I’m really hoping I’ll see “Refund Approved” soon. I could really use my money by next week.

I filed with H&R Block on 1/20, was accepted 1/22. I did have a change of address this year. Still on one bar. Hopeful for some movement tonight.

Im starting to think that there is a system down somewhere… or something, cant recall ever having this sort of a delay in processing my taxes before. Has to be an explanation, even if the IRS doesn’t want to tell us.

I’m in the same boat. And like you, I wasn’t concerned at all, but now it’s been 12 days with no progress at all. And others that filed on 1/25-1/27 already are getting DDD’s. I’m trying not to worry, but starting to.

Filed 1-16 accepted 1-20 one bar WMR have never waited this long. Ppl who were accepted after 20th already getting DDD. I don’t understand what is going on .

Filed with TT 1/20
Accepted:1/20
Still no DDD.I know there are several processing centers across the country I think it all depends on which one got yours and where they are in their processing. That’s why some who filed later than is have one and some who filed before us still don’t either. It’s basically just luck of the draw.
