I filed 1/25, Accepted 1/28
2/10 WMR Bars Disappeared
WMR Status changed to “Still” being processed” and given a phone number, Ext number, and Reference code number
2/22 WMR changed to “Being processed” Still no bars, Phone #, Ext and Code removedTranscript code 971 (Issued noticed)
As many of you have had the same issue, I had one bar from 1/28 all the way to around 2/10 when my bars completely disappeared and I was given a phone number to call with an extension 362 and reference code 9001.
I looked at my account transcript and seen there was a code 971 Issue Noticed and an amount of $0.00 next to it with a date of 3/4.
I decided to call the IRS and managed to get through around 7:01am on Feb 21st and spoke with a lady, She put me on hold for roughly 15 minutes and came back and told me that I should be receiving a letter via mail. I should also note that as of yesterday, She could not see that any letter was mailed out to me, Or give me a definitive answer as to what the letter would be. So there may not even be one. However, While she was looking over my return she noticed that I recertified for the EIC but not the CTC (Missed checking a box). She made the assumption the form would probably be a form 8862. She could not give me a mailing address or a fax number to send the form too, So I could not get a jump start on this.
To give a little back ground on that i was audited last year for claiming my Girlfriends son as my step son (I consider him my son) and they issued me a EIC and CTC for him. But because we were not married and he was not a “Qualifying” child I was audited and the credits were removed. So I had to recertify for the credits because I was “Disallowed” them last year.
Well, Fast foward to today, I logged on WMR and noticed that my status was changed back to “Being processed”, Topic 152. The number, Extension and reference code number are all gone. Im looking through these forums and Im seeing a lot of inconsistencies between what everyone is being told through out the whole process with Code 9001, 971 transcript code, Etc.
With all that said, Im at a point where Im completely confused. The IRS agents are giving conflicting information so Im turning to the people. Have any of you had a similar situation? How did yours turn out, Etc?
