This is for 2024 tax year obviously, however I’m not seeing or hearing much about Missouri State Refund.
I received $21 of a $2k+ refund. The site tracker hasn’t updated at all. When I called Missouri Department of Revenue 2 weeks ago they told me nothing was wrong, and my refund was on its way. That was 2 weeks ago though. Then I got a random deposit of $21 from them and nothing has updated, and no emails or snail mail.
Anyone else?

Been waiting on validation for for over 10 days
-
BluDream
Missouri seems to be moving pretty quickly for now. Filed 2/10, had movement on the MO return tracker by 2/14, and fully processed by the end of the day on 2/16. I am waiting now to see when payment will hit the bank.
-
Twinbaby
Is the Missouri Refund Status Tracker down for everyone or is it just me?
-
Michelle
Anything yet? I’m new to Mo. How does things move here? Any help is appreciated.
-
Anyone receive their 2021 refund yet? I’m stuck on the validation tab.
I got mine for 2022 season today, my fiance is stuck on validating still. We both filed and were accepted 1/26

My guess is we’ll never see the refunds.

-
Lupe
Thanks for the information. Same here.
-
Spoke to a representative at the DOR this afternoon and she told me that our deposits “might” be here on Friday, but also that they might be here 5 business days from Friday.
-_-
-
Hannah
I just called the Missouri department of revenue. We should all be receiving our deposits Friday. It’s a system error. They are having trouble with depositing money with everyone. It’s a system issue.
-
Leah00
Mine also says 3/02 but I have nothing. Good to know that I’m not the only one at least.
-
Twinbaby
Same here. No deposit today and the online system said it was deposited yesterday.
-
Jasmine
Mine was also supposed to be deposited yesterday. I wonder what’s going on
-
Bri
Mine was also supposed to be deposited yesterday and we received nothing.
-
Frank
Seems like a common occurrence. Mine states 02Mar as well and nothing. Hmmmm
-
Sharon
Same here! Was supposed to be deposited on 03/02 and nothing!
-
Sha
Was supposed to be paid out yesterday, figured may be delayed until the next day.. nope.. wonder what the hold up is.. my return was accepted on Feb 12..
-
Lisa
Hey Jane,
I’m wondering what’s the hold up -
Jane
My refund was released on 3/2 as well but there’s no deposit as of this morning
-
Lisa
My refund was expected to be deposited on 3/2/21 but no deposit has been made. Does anyone knows why?
-
David
My release date for my refund was March 2nd I called this morning it said the same thing March 2nd. I checked my bank and nothing has been deposited into my bank. I call Doug where’s my Missouri refund line and they tell me they have not received anything from me at this time. What gives where’s my money
-
I got that my Refund issue date is 3/2/2021. But when I just checked my bank account there is no deposit from the state at this point. Think that is because it will happen late tonight and be visible tomorrow or just will happen later in the day today?
-
Twinbaby
I can’t believe it! I just can’t believe it! My refund is due out TODAY. It has been only 18 days since it was accepted. Thanks, MODOR!
-
Kayakgal
Missouri is really fast for state this year
-
Twinbaby
Wow! I’m on the processing stage already! What a difference this year’s processing of my return as compared to the last few years. Before I waited MONTHS for my refund. Now it has barely been 2 weeks since it was accepted. Again, kudos, MODOR! Keep up the good work!
-
JustE
My return was accepted on 2/12 and it finally got to validation a couple of days ago but now the system is not giving any information. Idk… I usually get my state refund way quicker.
-
Twinbaby
Is this site working correctly for everyone? The validation box was checked two days ago and now the system is saying they have no records of my return.
-
Leah00
I’m on the validation box today. The past few years I’ve gotten my state before fed and less than a week after being accepted. It’s slower this year but I’m not in any big hurry.
-
Twinbaby
Congrats, Jade!
I am so surprised to be in the validation phase already. (I just got there today.) Good job, MODOR!
-
Jade
Got my refund Today
-
Twinbaby
@js05622, I got the same message when I looked up my return just a few minutes ago. But my return was accepted on 12 Feb. I guess they are running a few weeks behind.
-
js05622
They must be moving slow because my state was accepted on 2/12 and it’s still on the “Return Received”. Anyone get a state refund yet for 2020 or progress to the next step?
-
Elisa lam
It’s up and running . Checked it this morning
-
Twinbaby
Yeah I just called and it said, “Due to technical difficulties, the return inquiry system is down at this time.” Then it hung up.
So yeah… it’s down. Lol
-
Leah00
@Jwac1070 Thanks. Mine is doing the same thing. I got the text saying it was accepted on 2/13 but the tracker still says that they don’t have anything. Last year it did the same thing and I ended up actually receiving my refund before it ever updated.
-
Jwac1070
It has to be down not showing anything and was excepted last Friday
-
Jwac1070
Looks like it is down I have checked for the last week and no info showing
-
Leah00
Is the Missouri return tracker down for anyone else? It keeps giving me error messages.
-
Jay
Does anyone know when Missouri starts accepting 2020 state tax returns in 2021
-
Twinbaby
I finally got it! Check your accounts!
-
Twinbaby
Good news, everyone! (Or at least I hope it is real and true.) I was connected to a representative at DOR during series of transfers I talked about in my last post. She not only found the bug that was affecting me, but also found it was holding up other people too!
So for all those still waiting, check your accounts this week. The rep told me if I didn’t get my refund, she would contact me after getting more solutions.
FINALLY! Someone who knows how to manage expectations!
-
Twinbaby
I called the MO state Auditor to no avail. They won’t help.
I then called Office of the Governor who transferred me multiple times to someone who would follow up with someone high ranking in DOR.
I appreciate that but I think she is going to get the same run around. So I contacted Contact2 at Fox News.
-
Cocobean
Mine ha been in Q for over 3 weeks this is ridiculous. How hard is it to put these checks in the mail?
-
Twinbaby
Yes so I spoke with a representative two days ago. Apparently there is no big wig available to confirm the refunds before they are sent to the banks. This is due to COVID-19.
Today I just called and the representatives are now working remotely. No telling when we are getting our refunds. I just don’t understand why our refunds can’t be confirmed remotely. Maybe it is not secure enough. Who knows? But please make sure you let the state Auditor know.
-
taxdd
Any update on this? I continue to wait for my refund despite the fact that their portal says “it is in queque to be sent” to me. Anyone know who I could possibly contact over this??
-
SAR
I am right there with you Twinbaby. I filed mine on 01/30/2020 and keep getting excuses as well, and got the same answer from the auditor. The Department of Revenue for Missouri is a total joke. I understand the delays as well with Covid-19, I work in the medical filed and see it every day, but they had my information way before all the isolations happened. I am making adjustments to my MO withholdings tomorrow to make sure they never owe me money again.
-
Connor
I too have still failed to receive mine. They said “it was in the final stages of processing and should have a issue date soon” STILL NOTHING! Tried calling the state auditor and they said they are not currently getting involved. This is ridiculous!
-
Twinbaby
Now there’s a “glitch”, which is preventing their computer system from actually sending the direct deposit.
At this point, I will get my stimulus check before my state refund.
They owe me over 15 days interest. And I will put in another complaint to the State Auditor if I do not receive it.
-
twinbaby
FINALLY! Getting my deposit by Monday! So 8 weeks is the norm now. At least next year I know when to expect it and what to send when I do file.
-
Twinbaby
Still waiting on my refund… It has now been 8 weeks. I am STILL in processing. I under COVID-19 has slow things down but the only thing that needs to happen now is for the DOR to issue the check. Everything else is done according to two DOR representatives.
I bet I get my stimulus money BEFORE my refund.
THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS!
-
Twinbaby
@sreck, make sure you call the 573-751-3505 number. Then press the option for questions about your refund. If it says you are being directed to the automated system, you’ve pressed the wrong option.
When you get connected, tell them you haven’t received your refund. Ask them how they sent it. Then go from there
-
sreck
I filed my taxes on Feb 17th. I received my federal return (which i thought was weird because state usually comes first) but i have yet to receive my state return. When i use their tracker, it said the issue date was 02/25/2020 and it was completed. Now, we are at the end of march and i have received nothing. I don’t know who to contact. I’ve tried contacted DOR but I’ve gotten no answer or the connection has not gone through. Any advice?
-
Twinbaby
Good news! Someone from DOR emailed me yesterday and stated they are working on my refund! I am so happy!
-
Twinbaby
I called DOR again was hung up on. That’s the Still don’t have the rest of my refund even though I submitted the paperwork and I have not lived in Missouri for over 13 years and am active duty military! This was the last straw. I contacted the State Auditor’s office again and told them I am willing to go through with my complaint. Enough is enough.
-
Connor
I have yet to receive mine.
-
Twinbaby
Still waiting. Almost 6 weeks of waiting. In about 5 more days the rest of my refund will begin accruing interest.
I have contacted the Auditor’s office and was immediately answered back. I was hoping to have things worked out before I answered them. Now I have no choice but to report this.
-
Twinbaby
I called 573-751-3505. And I recieved my refund today. EXCEPT it was minus 90% of it. I am military and I don’t live in Missouri. Therefore I should have all my taxes refunded to me. I don’t understand why it is hard for them to understand that this year. Just refer to the other 12 years. Ugh! Now I have to stalk them again.
-
Connor
What number did you call?
-
Twinbaby
But I’m still showing validating. Please talk to a live person to get true updates.
-
Twinbaby
I just called in today and was told the money will be deposited tomorrow! So happy! Just 5 weeks of waiting. Much shorter than waiting over 12 weeks like last year
-
Twinbaby
@Connor, I’m still stuck as well. Almost 5 weeks
-
Connor
Has anyone else moved from validated and received their return? I’m still stuck on validated
-
Twinbaby
Yes, I’ve been validating for almost 4 weeks now. In another two weeks, they will be paying me interest on my money. At the 6 week mark, I will go to the State Auditor and the news channels, just like I did last year.
-
Connor
Been stuck on validating for 2 weeks, last year I got my state in early February: anyone else still stuck on validating?
-
Jana
Tracker said mine should be in my bank on the 21st of February but it’s the 25th at 5:30pm and still my bank has no record of it. Worried! Help?
-
I received on the tax information system a message that stated that my return was completed and a message saying refund issue date 2/14/2020. Does this mean they issued the refund or am I line to be issued my direct deposit. any information would be helpful
-
Twinbaby
@Ellierain37, I’m sorry to hear that because it makes me think your money was deposited in someone else’s account through fraud. I hope it gets cleared up right away.
I am going on 4 weeks still validating.
-
EllieRain37
Ours all the sudden has an “issued date of 2/6/20 and it hasnt been deposited into the bank. I dont know what’s going on.
-
Msmith
My tax refund finally moved to the completed stage when I checked it Saturday morning but there still hasn’t been a deposit in my account. How long does it take for them to do the deposit once they have completed the return?
-
Colin89
So, anyone else having issues with getting their missouri refund? It said validating until the 16th, then changed to say the issue date was february 11th, and it still hasnt posted to my account…but it didnt give me the issue date until 5 days after the issue dats…like, what the heck is going on this year..?
-
Twinbaby
Still nothing yet. It has been almost 3 weeks since acceptance on 30 Jan
-
Chad
So is it safe to assume that the is it safe to assume that the state of Missouri refund tracker is bunk because I think I recall one year as well we’re said it was OK I don’t know three phone was even approved yet and it it hit my account so
-
Justin
Ive been stuck in validating for a long time as well. Checked account and nothing yet so im in the same boat as alot if u.
-
Twinbaby
Still validating myself. I hope to receive it soon.
-
Moni
@tati
Will do!! Thanks
-
Tati
I would keep an eye on your account. I’m still on validating and received my refund days ago
-
Moni
@Msmith
I have been validating since last Monday the 3rd of February
-
Moni
@twinbaby
Thank you! I have never validated this long so I’m a tad bit frustrated😂
-
Twinbaby
@Moni, it’s because you are pressing 1 for individual tax refund information. Press 4 instead for all other calls. It will then prompt you for all the info the automated one does except it will ask for a zip code before your refund amount. It will then quote you automated stuff about your refund. Just listen to it. Then it will ask you to verify your address and phone number. After you do so, THEN you will be qued for an agent. But be prepared. Today at lunch I was called 59 and I waited an hour and 15 minutes before an agent came on.
-
^active^
Mine has had a Refund Issue date of 2/11/2020 and still hasn’t posted to my acct yet
-
Moni
I have been stuck on Validating since last Monday. When I try to call MO dept of Revenue they always direct me to the automated tax line? Anyone else with this problem?
-
Sam
Hello Everyone,
I finally got my refund on Friday – Feb 7. My friend got his on Feb. 10. We sent our returns on the 1st day you could file. So it looks like the wait time is hopefully 2 weeks for most. But there were people that filed after us and got their refunds before us – so who knows with this state.
Good luck to everyone!
-
Msmith
Mine has been stuck on validating for 2 weeks now. Anyone else been stuck for that long?
-
Sweetpea
I just checked again it’s working I have a deposit date for 2/14/2020
-
Don’t know what’s going on with mo. Refund was stuck on received now for 2 was online it says system down when I call the number it says no refund was filed.
-
Msmith
I field my taxes on January 30. They were accepted on the 31. It did show my status as being validated but now the online system isn’t working at all and the telephone inquiry says they haven’t received my refund yet. Anyone else experiencing this?
-
Sweetpea
Anyone know if the Missouri refund tracker is down?
-
Sweetpea
Cindy
From what I have seen some see within 2 days after it has said in queue to be sent so hopefully by Friday 😊 -
Cindy
Sweetpea, I’m wondering as well. In the past my state refunds had been deposited on Tuesday, I’m hoping this year comes before next week!
-
Sweetpea
Cindy:
Same here just curious when it will hit bank account -
Cindy
I checked my refund status this afternoon and it says “Your refund is in queue to be sent to you.” I filed on 02/03 was accepted that evening. Anyone else have this?
-
BrittNy
I’m still on validating. However, my refund was in my account this morning.
-
Tati
FINALLY!!! Woke up this morning to my state pending in my account. Checked the website and I’m still stuck on validating. Don’t depend on the website to update.
Filed: 2/1 Accepted: 2/1
-
Waitingpatiently
@twinbaby no, I just moved to missouri the end of last year so I’m new to the Missouri returns. I was accepted within minutes but have had no change in status at all.
-
Vickie
Filed 1/31 accepted in a few minutes been on valadating since 2/1 what’s the deal. My sister filed 1/28 accepted 1/29 kid you not she never updated to anything on 1/31 checked her bank account and it’ was in her account. Since then we have checked just to see snd it says received that’s it so don’t know but just maybe the site isn’t updating
-
Tati
Everyone I personally know have received their state except me.
-
BrittNy
It can take days, weeks, months. I know some who got it quickly from validating and some who didn’t get theirs from last year until December. It’s absolutely ridiculous! Makes me angry almost. I have filed in MO for 15+yrs. same address, income, dependents, etc. Now I’m stuck on validating. Who knows if or when I’ll ever see it.
-
Jennifer Smith
How long does this validating step take and why does it say may take 12 weeks!!! What!!!???
-
Twinbaby
I just called and forgot that I had to send my les in again to prove that I am military! So active duty, send that to the [email protected] email so your refund isn’t held up
-
BrittNy
Still validating 🙄
Filed and accepted 1/31. -
Tati
I filed on the 1st and accepted on the 1st. I’ve been on validating since the 4th. I’ve never waited this long for a state refund.
-
Martina
Updated sat 2/8 to complete, had an offset of 20%, when will remaining refund be deposited? It doesn’t have a ddd or say refund sent, be t it’s at step 4 complete
-
Twinbaby
If I remember, @waitingpatiently, you are active duty, correct?
-
Waitingpatiently
Anyone else in a similar situation? I filed on the 28th, accepted the same day, and no change on the website. Still just says it’s been recieved. I haven’t seen anyone else post similar situations
-
Lynn
Updated with a DDD of 2/11/2020
-
Twinbaby
I’m so happy for you, @Lynn! Hopefully my status will change soon.
-
Lynn
I updated to step 3 this morning -Processing your return. “ The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.”
-
Lynn
@TwinBaby no I haven’t received my refund. It’s still stuck in validation. I filed on 31st and accepted the same day
-
Twinbaby
@Lynn thank you. Have you received your refund yet? I have a suspicion that they are holding on to the out of state military’s refunds longer.
-
Lynn
@Twinbaby
I’m an Air Force vet -
Twinbaby
Anyone military here?
-
Twinbaby
Filed 1/30. Still stuck on validating.
-
Mike
Just checked mine. DDD 2/10
Hope everyone updates soon -
AT
Checked the site just now, and I’ve been updated to a DDD of 2/10!
-
Tati
I am still stuck on validating. Hoping for a DDD tomorrow. I’ve always gotten my state back quick
-
Btaylor
I have a been validating since 1/30 I know when I filed it asked for driver license number which I put in nothing has changed at all. I am still waiting on my 2018 return and fighting with the state for that . They keep telling me that they cant give me a date when it will be sent but it’s being worked on and there are alot of others still waiting.
I really hope I do not have to wait for my 2019 like that.
Does anyone have any good insite on the validating process -
Stephanie
At least now we know for sure that “Validating” doesn’t necessarily mean anything negative. Hope you all get a DDD soon!
-
BrittNy
Still stuck at validating.
-
Mike
Still stuck on validating
-
Jada
Accepted on 1/30
Updated this morning with DD of 2/10 -
Stephanie
Ok everybody, mine updated overnight with 2/10 deposit date.
-
Sheri
Still haven’t received my refund yet Did my return last month. Still on validating it been over a wk now.
-
Lindsay
We filed our taxes 1/26/20 via TurboTax online. State was accepted 1/28/20. It took a couple days but was finally listed as accepted on the website. Shortly after it was listed as validating and has been there since 1/30/20. We had to wait to file our MO taxes because a form was not even ready yet. In 16 years our taxes have listed the same info aside from address changes which has been the same for the last 6 years and we have always gotten our return in a matter of days. I’m assuming this is a sign of a repeat of last years problems with MO refunds.
-
JoJo
I’ve been stuck on “The state has received your refund” status for over a week now! Anyone else stuck here?!?!
-
Stephanie
@Valeire
Same here. Dependents, income, address, phone number.. everything is the same as the past couple of years but I am now stuck in Validating. I have always gotten my Missouri return quickly (even last year when many others had issues) and definitely before federal.
-
Jennifer
From everyone’s posts it looks like deposits from Missouri are in Tuesday’s.
-
Valeire
I am in the validation state and well and I have always got my refund before federal. Never had issues and nothing changed this year. This tax season is all over the place.
-
Stephanie
The Validating step does not appear for everybody. Most of the time, it means your refund will take longer for some reason. Last year, many people were stuck on Validating for months.. into June, July, August, and some later than that. The state of Missouri ended up having to pay a lot of people interest on their returns because they took so long to pay. If you Google it, you will find a lot of news stories about it.
-
SAR
Is the “Validating” stage just one of the normal stages on the filing that everyone goes through now, with some getting completely validated and some just having account verified? Or, do some people file and don’t ever see the “Validating” stage on the electronic check?
-
AT
I was in Validation last year and received my refund March 12. Not sure it’s anything serious.
-
BrittNy
@Stephanie
That’s what I have read as well. My mom has had this happen the past 2 years and she gets hers by the end of Summer. I’m seeing a lot of people who are in validating. -
Chelsea
Filed 1/27 and got direct deposit on 2/4
-
Stephanie
From the information that I’ve gathered.. if you get put in the “Validating” step.. it’s going to be a long time before seeing your return.
-
Leah
I filed late in the day on 1/28.
-
AT
I filed 1/30. Still Validating.
-
BrittNy
Mine was accepted the 31st through TT. Still validating.
-
Jennifer
@Leah when did you file? @AT when did you file?
-
Leah
@Jennifer Snyder
Mine never moved past accepted. In fact, today it still just says accepted…and I got the deposit yesterday morning.
-
Jennifer Snyder
For those of you that received Missouri refund when was it issued after tracker showed it was being validated? Fixed with TurboTax ours was accepted morning of Jan 31 at 2:43am we received email from TT. Missouri tracker shows its being validated. Just curious how long after others saw being validated that they received refund. Thanks for any info!
-
Keisha Bromley
i filed the 27th. Payment was in account at 615am this morning.
-
Stephanie
Yeah, I’ve never seen the Validating step either.. not in previous years. Usually I get my state return before federal. I know that Missouri had a lot of issues last year with refunds and that the state ended up paying interest to a lot of taxpayers who didn’t see their refunds until well into the summer (July/August.) I’m wondering if there are even more problems this year!?
-
BrittNy
@sam
573-526-8299 -
Sam
What is the phone number you call to check on your refund status?
-
BrittNy
It’s so crazy.
I’ve never seen the “validating” before. When I put my husbands info in, it shows “validating”. When I put my info in, it shows “return received”. We filed jointly.
Who knows what’s going on. I’ve read from a lot of people who were in validation last tax season and a lot of them didn’t received their refund well into the Summer. I’m really hoping this is a glitch and we see our money SOON! -
Lynn
Mine is showing validating also
-
Mike
Mine says “validating” also.
-
AT
I filed and was accepted on January 30, I am currently on Validating (2nd bar).
-
BrittNy
@Stephanie
Mine says the same thing. -
Stephanie
Has anybody else seen the “validating your return” message?!
-
Lynn
Any updates for anyone that filed on 1/30 and accepted 1/30?
-
Margaret L Malone
What time usually does your missouri refund get deposited into your bank account?
-
Stephanie
What the heck!! Mine finally updated and now there is a bar number 2 that says “Validating Your Return. The information reported on your return, such as income, deductions, and payments, is being verified for accuracy. This validation process generally requires 12 weeks from the date your return was received. The Department refreshes the data on this application daily, usually overnight. However, during heavy processing periods, the status of your return may not change from day to day.“
-
Leah
Phone line says “no record”. Online tracker says “received”.
Refund is in bank account this morning. Missouri is weird.
-
Leah
You guys are lucky. I’m still stuck on “received” with the online tracker and “no record” on the phone.
-
Keisha Bromley
Today online is still showing error when I enter in the information. I called the Missouri line and it says refund coming tomorrow. Hopefully all is well. Filed and accepted January 27th. With turbotax.
-
BrittNy
My Missouri tracker updated to “in validation”. I’ve never seen this before. From what I have read, this seems to be a long process when you are being validated 😞
-
Looks like the Missouri tracker has been fixed. I am supposed to receive my refund tomorrow.
-
Twinbaby
I filed on 30 January and was accepted the same day. It is only 4 days later and I am in validation. Looks like this process is going much faster than last year’s!
-
Leah
I was really hoping I’d wake up this morning to lots of people saying they got their refunds.
-
It is broke. People have recieved their refunds and the tracker was still just showing received. If you call and get the automated response it will say “can not be found”. All you can do is call and get a real life person tomorrow or just wait.
-

Mine just says received too. I’m pretty sure the same thing happened last year too and it didn’t change until either right before or right after I got the deposit.
-
Jj
Is the Missouri refund tracker system not working mine always says received every time?
-
Jj
Is anybody else having trouble with the Missouri refund tracker system staying on the received line?
-
Aminah J
Filed 21 accepted 11pm on the 27th..website still shows received..fund hit chime this morning..MO website is wonky ..i received the email saying received but didn’t show up until about 29th on the refund tracker.
-
Leah
I filed on the 28th and got the email from TT at around midnight saying that my state was accepted. But when I tried the refund tracker, it said that nothing was found…and then I got locked out.
So I tried the automated phone tracker and it still said no return found. But then I tried the online tracker today with my social (instead of my husband’s who should be first) and it says return accepted…but when I use my social on the phone tracker, it says nothing found. Lol.
So things are definitely screwy. -
Twinbaby
Well, let’s see what happens this year. Last year, my return was accepted on 04 Feb. I think I received my refund in April. I filed this year’s return on 30 Jan. It would be wonderful to have the refund in before March 2020.
-
Missouri Man
Sat on the phone with DOR. 43 IN LINE! website shows received, phone automated says cant find your data. Lots of people are going to give them hell when things are that jacked up. Give a proper status and dont say 4-6 weeks
-
JoJo
Filed 29th, Accepted 30th. Website showing unavailable….
-
Keisha Bromley
When I call the automated state hotline, it says taxes not received. i also filed via turbotax and I have the email that says it was accepted.
-
Summer
I filed Monday the 27th. Missouri was accepted about 8:30 p.m. that same evening according to Turbo Tax. I checked on Wednesday and it showed my state had been received. I checked today and it was still showing received. Went to pay a bill using my bank account and noticed a deposit. It was my state refund.
-
Sam
So…my MO return was finally accepted. Let’s see how long it takes to get a refund. Keep us posted if any of you gets yours right away!
-
Jefe Dahlmer
Got refund this morning, website never updsted past the recived bar, woke up to a deposit. Was surprised since 18000 people are still waiting from last year. Idk!!
-
there isn’t one. If you want to call them, heaven help you if you do as it is almost pointless, it has to be between 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday.
-
Leah
@Missouri Man
What phone number can you call after hours? The phone number I have disconnects if they are closed even though it’s an automated line.
-
The Missouri status information both phone and online only updates 1 time a day. The time it updates is after the close of business at the Missouri DOR. Best time to check is after 6pm central standard time. What ever you see at that time will be the status for atleast the next 24 hours until the close of business the next day.
-
Leah
@Jefe Dahlmer
Unfortunately I’ve tried it several times and still get that message.
-
Jefe Dahlmer
Filed jan 16 the day forms were ready, accepted jan 27th got a recived bar the afternoon of jan 28th still same status. Those of you that gets the locked out msg, go back and try again, its an error. Done this to me but i tried again and it went thru.
-
Leah
@Sam
I filed through TurboTax and they sent me an email saying that it was accepted but the Missouri tracking site and phone number both say nothing found. Which is freaking me out a little bit but I’m trying to stay calm. I think this might have happened last year too but I got my refund in less than a week.
-
Sam
Leah – I got the same stupid message yesterday that my acct was blocked for 3 days because I checked too much. I just don’t understand why the state hasn’t even accepted my return yet. I actually filed on Jan 23 and H & R Block transmitted them on the 27th. Got the notice from Federal the next day and have never heard back from MO. This is frustrating. It used to be that you would hear back the same day or the next day and get your state refund within 2-3 days.
-
Leah
My Missouri state was approved on the 29th at around midnight but when I checked the refund tracker yesterday morning it said it wasn’t found. I thought maybe I had put the social or amount in wrong and tried it a few more times…and then got the dreaded message that due to excessive attempts the social was now blocked for 3 days. Ugh. So that sucks.
-
Missouri site is working. Over the next 7 days we will get a good idea how the early filers will be and basicly how things will take off for Missouri returns. My guess is hell on earth
-
filed…
I use Turbo Tax every year, and yes I have filed. My concern is that normally I get 1 email that says accepted and then another email later in the day saying it has been approved. This is the first year that I have not received an approved letter yet; and also the Missouri Where is my refund website is not working. I hope it does not take a while for Missouri to get things moving.
-
Leah
@Sam
I used TurboTax last night and it was accepted a little after midnight.
-
Sam
To those of you who have filed and Missouri has already accepted your return – did you use H & R Block, Turbotax or something else? Just wondering why they have not accepted my return yet…
-
Leah
@Waitingpatiently
I really don’t want to jinx myself but the past couple of years I got my Missouri refund very quickly. In 2019 it was accepted on 1/25 (Friday) and I got the deposit on 1/30 (Wednesday).
I filed last night and it was accepted as of this morning.
-
Sam
To waitingpatiently,
There were so many issues last tax season due to their new system – I foresee lots of problems this year as well. There are still thousands of Missourians that still have not received their refund from 2018. It’s curious though that they already accepted your return. I filed on Monday and they have not accepted my return yet. Federal did…
-
Waitingpatiently
Hi, I just filed today in Missouri for the first time. (I moved here in Jan 2019). I am worried that so many had issues last year. Does anyone have any insight about this year? I filed a few hours ago and already accepted. Thanks
-
Nicole
Filled and accepted January 30th. Still waiting. It’s almost time to file again.
-
Aaron P Detwiler
Please let me know. Still have not gotten my money. Government issues? Thanks trump… Eff you man!

Filed back in May. Still nothing. All I’m claiming is my property tax credit. Why the hell is it still processing? I’ve qualified for this the last 10+ years of my life. This is ridiculous!
-
dreynolds23
Status finally changed this morning for a 10/7 date.
-
dreynolds23
October. I filed 1/29. This is just flat out nuts.
-
I Will Wait
Good luck getting that 5% interest. They finally deposited my refund. 1.6% interest. Still a few hundred dollars on the over 14k they owed me, but nowhere near the 5% mark. Good luck to all those still waiting. What a year is has been. :(
-
Jessica Brown
I have been dealing with them for over a year to no avail. I saw a lien on my account and they stated they did not receive my 2012 refund. A lady at DOR stated she would re-file it for me I just would not receive a refund due to the age ($17 dollars anyways) but it would remove the lien of over $1k. She failed to do as she said, the DOR even admitted she was at fault and dropped the ball. So come tax time they offset my whole Federal return. I have emailed 20+ times.. Called 10 times.. same story.. system upgrades, wait 4-8 weeks and call back. I was told in June it would be a week. Here we are Sept and nothing. I filed a complaint with auditor. She had someone directly contact me who stated sorry we cannot process prior year returns at the moment due to system upgrades. This contradicts the fact I was told 3 times by 3 different people on the phone now it was already processed and at the check processing center. Totally unacceptable.
-
dreynolds23
I have had 2 different reps with the Missouri DOR tell me that interest is accrued daily at 5% a day after 45 days. If that is the case I’m at day 185 days past the 45 day mark and that’s $23 a day for me. I asked him to confirm that with a supervisor. He came back on the line and said that they told them they couldn’t give him that info and they can only say it’s 5% interest after 45 days and I would know the refund amount once I get my refund. That I should I be thankful to get one seeing as pays in. Called the auditors office for details on how interest works and was told they couldn’t discuss that. Only the DOR. Any one have insight on how that will work. Will be the 5% in addition to the refund, in my case $23, or is that $23 (5%) each day? Because if so I can see why the news is reportIng over a million dollars in interest will be paid for this year to tax payers by tax payers.
-
I Will Wait
No signs of life at the DOR, so I called the auditor’s office. The guy said I had the biggest refund he had heard of so far this year and was going to work on my behalf. Fingers crossed, but I haven’t heard back from anyone yet. Also, I’m willing to bet that the state taxes us on the interest we earn on next year’s return. Assuming we get our money back before the next tax season arrives.
-
Me
It’s been 32 weeks since we filed. Still nothing. No help from anyone. I just get the “be patient, it takes 6 to 12 weeks.” So what happens if we don’t get it by next text season? Because I’m losing hope.
-
dreynolds23
JoJo, don’t hold your breathe. They told me that back in May about a small offset I have with an old fine. I’m still waiting as well.
-
JoJo
I called and finally talked to someone helpful!! I was told it was being processed and I told her that I’ve been told that for the last 9 months, she put me on hold for about 10-15 mins came back on and said she had put in a request from the College to verify the amount of the offset and they could release the funds once that is in. So MAYBE this month!!!!
-
John seko
My dad is still waiting on his refund as well! We called over a week ago and they said we are starting to process the refunds again. ((Wth does she mean by starting to process again)) I guess they do what they want right?? Rude rude!!! Someone is dropping the ball there!
-
dreynolds23
September and still waiting. This is beyond nuts!
-
I Will Wait
I finally called, they said 4 more weeks, so maybe sometime in September…
-
Maria
My husband and I filed our taxes on 3/30 by paper. One month went by before I decided to check the status of the return, the system said that no tax returns has been received so, I called just to make sure they received it which they did received on the 4/25. I ask the person on the phone, why the system showed not received and she said not to pay attention to the system cause it wasn’t reliable and the we should get our refound between 10 to 12 weeks.
Is been more then 20 weeks and the system insists that they haven’t received our tax return. My guess is we’ll end up getting it until Christmas lol. -
dreynolds23
Officially been 6 months. Lol.
-
Christine
25 weeks and still no refund from misery…🙄🙄 this is stupid..
-
dreynolds23
I’m glad you got it Ck77. I contacted the auditor a month ago and still waiting. Tuesday will make 25 weeks for me.
-
ck77
24 weeks almost to the day and I finally have my refund plus a whopping $4 interest. Conveniently just 2 weeks after contacting the state auditors office and giving them permission to discuss on my behalf.
-
dreynolds23
I’m at week 24 and still nothing. Being told it can be another 3-4 weeks wait. 😭
-
JoJo
Well, its going on 24 weeks this is getting ridiculous! Now their system is unavailable maybe just maybe thats a good sign…..
-
Barbara Meyers
Now I’ve been told the refunds that don’t have any additions are being done first. Going on 11 weeks since I faxed that 1099.
-
dreynolds23
I called and was told it could possible be up to 20 weeks from 06/01 to process a non-obligated spouse form for $100 of an almost $500 refund. I said no, ma’am. I need a supervisor because tomorrow makes 22 weeks for me and I’ll be damned if I wait another week longer. Damn sure not 20. She put me on hold while she “contacted a supervisor” to set up a call. Came back 10 minutes later and said her supervisor emailed the appropriate parties so it can be manually processed. Same thing another rep told me about 6 weeks ago. I’m just about over it.
-
dreynolds23
Still nothing. :(
-
Barbara Meyers
The automated system has never shown that my property tax forms were even received. Faxed February 15. Told they couldn’t find it, call back. told me April 25 they needed more info. Faxed on April 25. Started calling. Too they couldn’t find it, call back. Now it’s being processed but they have no clue when I’ll get the check. What a mess this year. I have to say customer service tried to be helpful.!
-
dreynolds23
Still waiting. 5 months of this. Filed 1/29.
-
angry as hell
My refund showed up in my account today. The site still says it is validating.
From January 28th to today I received $1.96 in interest. What a ripoff.
Btw-they say this won’t happen next year but experts are thinking this will be the norm in the future. Some think in the next few year sc that the first round of refunds won’t go out until 45 days after the filing deadline, April 15.
If this makes you angry call your state Rep and senator, look into their votes and consider possibly voting them out. This wasn’t just a computer error. This was purposely done by the state legislature by reducing the funding and limiting how much could be paid out on a daily basis.
-
I Will Wait
5% interest, nice! State will owe me over $700 in interest alone. Assuming they ever pay up.
-
Elizabeth Mayer
Filed in March finally got the release date of 6/24 on 6/22. It is now 6/24 and still not in my account. Now I’m being told it could still be 5+ days before it hits the bank. I have usaa it never takes this long. There better be interest on this return. My husband is military and I’m a sahm so we are entirely exempt from Missouri taxes due to being stationed outside of Missouri. There is absolutely no reason this is taking so long. I had him change his tax status on his pay for this year to exempt so they won’t see a dime from us all year. We won’t get anything back but we won’t be waiting an ungodly amount of time next year.
-
Katie B.
This is ridiculous! If we don’t have our money by July 1st, interest will go up to 5%.
-
Reese
i filed my taxes back in January and still have not received a refund what do i need to do here its been months.

Finally heard back from the Auditor’s office they asked for permission to speak to the DOR on my behalf and also filed a complaint. Hope this gets me somewhere…..

Week 20. Nothing.
-
JoJo
Today marks 20 weeks and still no sign of intelligent life…. Called DOR, Auditor, and Governor and still nothing. Keep getting the same response: there is nothing more needed for your refund and we see no problems with it just give it 4 more weeks…
-

Finally got my refund on the 12th. 18 weeks and 2 days it took. Yesterday got a call from the auditors office. This is after the refund and after 2-3 calls a week to the auditors office. Good luck everyone.

Called for the 12th time today. Was told they needed a copy of my 1099’s and that I would be placed at the back of the queue and require at least another 12 weeks. Talked to supervisors, state auditors office, governors office, and my district representatives. No help from anyone. They did however change their call system to where you can easily talk to a person, not that it helps at all.
Filed Feb 2nd
Estimated refund time- October -

Monday will be 18 weeks. Absolute BS. The reps know nothing. And most of them are a-holes who have no business being in customer service.

I finally received my refund. 16.5 weeks later, multiple calls, emails to the DOR and I received a whopping 4.06 more in interest. Ha. This was a comical tax season. Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

I originally filed my return Jan 28, 2019 and it was accepted the same day. I called this number three times a week with no success. The yesterday I called 5737512578 and explained my situation and asked to speak with a supervisor. I never spoke with a supervisor but the agent I spoke with had a supervisor correct an error on my account. She even called me back after it was corrected and told me I should have a refund date tomorrow. I woke up and checked my due date is tomorrow. I just wanted to share my experience and hope it helps.
-
angry as hell
The PATH thing is just another excuse. There are plenty who were under it that received their refunds months ago.
-
Dambyrds
PS the MoR stated yesterday that anyone under PATH, a hold due to offset or is filing from earlier than 2018 or missing a tax year filed your refunds are all being held until everyone else is processed.
-

Whew. After 4 months of waiting, multiple emails and calls, my return has finally been processed with a DDD date of 6/7/19. Stay persistent to those of you still waiting.

I called the MO state auditor’s office two days ago and also sent two emails to the Department of Revenue. The email responses were both automated and directed me to the Missouri Return Inquiry System, which I have been using for the past 15 weeks. I don’t know if either action prompted this, but I received noticed today that my tax refund was processed and completed. I am waiting for the refund to hit my bank account so I can verify the amount.
-

I can’t even get through to DOR. The calls keep disconnecting and now it says all circuits ate busy.

Week 16 here. Has anyone heard any official news on when refunds will be issued? I’ve attempted to email and get the same 10 week response however we are all well past 10 weeks. When I got an agent they just say that they are behind and i am in the final stages of processing (been in this stage for over a month). And well, the tracker has never changed. Any ideas?

Has anyone checked into class action law suit? Or just a law suit? This is beyond crazy and the excuse is never the same always a different one or always extending the time. It’s been 16 weeks already.
-
Diane
I just thought I would share this I filed in April and received a portion of the return at around 3 weeks into it. I have been checking daily for my son who is in the same boat as most here. Out of curiosity I decided to check mine through the automated system — i still says my return is processing and will take up to 12 weeks. The system is a mess.
-
angry as hell
I’m at 18 weeks. I’ve requested a supervisor contact me every week since week 12. No response. I’ve been informed that I’ll get it when I get it,it isn’t my money so don’t worry about it, that 14,000 others are waiting and I have no business thinking I’m special. I’ve been hung up on, told I have no right to that information and that they don’t have to tell me anything. When I mentioned the auditor report I was told it was “fake news” and that they didn’t need to listen to conspiracy theories.
I’m a state employee. If I spoke to someone like that I’d be fired.
-
Colton J Kenney
I filed on feb. 12. I have emailed twice and heard no reply. I tried to call but it just says its still validating. Ot has now been 15 weeks since i filed and still no word.
-
Lori
@Linda I have called the useless Governors office at least 5 times. Get told that someone will call me back. Has not happened yet. The auditors office now has a recording to leave a message. The DOR just told me it will be another 4-6 weeks. That is the middle of July. It is completely unacceptable for the state to be doing this.
-
IhaveAcat
Maybe there is some hope. MAYBE…..🙄? 17 weeks and still no progress, HUMMM!.
(word for word from the MO. D.O.R. refund status page.)⤵️
➡️The information reported on your return, such as income, deductions, and payments, is being verified for accuracy. This validation process generally requires 12 weeks from the date your return was received. The Department refreshes the data on this application daily, usually overnight. However, during heavy processing periods, the status of your return may not change from day to day. -
angry as hell
Called again. Josh, the person on the other end, informed me that the auditor report wasn’t “real” and called me a conspiracy theorist.
He said there are 14,000 others waiting and that I’m not special.
-
dreynolds23
Linda, I took your suggestion after DOR told me to wait one more week. I’m at week 17. Just called Gov Parsons office & they said they are gonna place an inquiry for me.
-
Linda
I suggest everyone call the governor’s office. That’s what I did. A woman answered, took my info, said she would give it to MO Dept of Rev and someone would call me. I was skeptical, but they did call me…said they would expedite my return…and I had my refund that week.
They did short me, originally, and I was actually able to get the rep that I talked to the first time back on the phone. She said when it was pulled to be expedited, someone pushed an incorrect button, which changed my numbers. She made the correction and I had the additional funds the same week, too.
Yes, they are paying interest…I think it’s like 1% or something like that.
I can’t say it will work for everyone, but calling the governor did the trick for me. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I hope we’re not all back on here chatting again next year.
-
dreynolds23
Now at 17 weeks. I bet everything I got the tornado that hit Jefferson City will be a new excuse to delays these further.
-
Angie
I filed Feb 13 and still no refund and mine is a measly 384…
-
I Will Wait
Anyone know how the interest is figured? MO owes me over $14k, so I may be getting a better deal than most money market accounts in terms on interest. That is assuming they do eventually pay out. I would guess they are doing a manual review do the amount, but you would think they would want to get it out of the way to save themselves from paying so much.
-
Concerned Citizen
Filed Feb 2 still have not received my return. Call this number to make a complaint to MO State Auditor at 1-800-347-8597.
When I called MO refund customer service number, they said “I’ll get my return when I get it”.
This is completely unacceptable. We can look at high fines and jail time for not paying our taxes but the MO government can just do whatever the hell they feel like doing and they don’t pay for it we end up paying for the interest build up.
It’s costing us tax payers more money because MO wants to take their sweet time giving peoples hard earned money back.
MO get your sh** together.

Week number 14 for me. I called to check the status and received a nice representative who said they are swamped and doing their best to push out people who filed in Jan and February. He said that I am in the last step of processing but other than that, no updates. The tracker hasn’t updated since I filed. The representative said that the tracker is down too. Come on Missouri. This is really pathetic.
-
cheryl Dillon
not to mention that we can no longer track it as the site is having issues. Get iti together people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-

filed in January 21 stated received February 4. They can not explain why it is taking so long. I think you all should have to pay a high interest rate for holding my money. You would sure be the first to charge me one if I was late paying you;.This has gone past the point of ridiculous. Maybe we should hold your pay until we receive our money.

Just called DOR. She stated (and I quote) “You’ll get it when we’re ready. You’re not the most important person here today.”

Money deposited on 5/16…but $415.49 less than my refund. They deposited X,XXX.51. Cents??? All numbers are rounded…how can they deposit “cents”???? I am livid. I called number that originally called me to say my refund would be expedited (because I had called the governor with my info) and of course, when I call back, it goes to voicemail. I said I wanted a call back today.
If not, I’ll call the governor again tomorrow and they will have MO Dept of Revenue call me back, like last week.
I was hoping for some interest to be paid, not a deduction. Beyond frustrated.
-
dreynolds23
Now at week 16. We will see if the tracker updates tomorrow. If not I’ll be calling once more.
-
Lori
Still nothing but attitude from call center reps. Probably from me calling every single day for 4 weeks now. Lolol. But I don’t care. I have been calling the DOR, Auditor’s office and the useless Governor s office every single day. Was told 3 weeks ago I would have my refund in 2 weeks. Well it’s been over 2 weeks. Maybe some day they might get their s**t together. Until then I will keep calling them all bright and early every morning!!!!
-
Over it
Wow, that article stated he file Feb 11th and won’t be getting his return until mid-July because he found out that the 12 weeks showing didn’t actually start until mid-April. That is crazy. I used my federal to pay off most of my school balance but need my state refund to pay off the summer session or I will have to drop my summer classes. File Feb 7th and it’s still showing validated. I hope it won’t take that long and it comes in the next week or two before summer classes begin.

Missouri is the only state that could not figure out the new federal tax law. It’s been 45 days now, they say it could take until winter to start putting a dent on the waiting time.
At least they are paying 1.9% interest after 45 days of holding your refund up.
Image the state will have to file for bankruptcy paying all the people filing for refunds.
They should ask the IRS or other states for help -

I filed my refund for Missouri the first of February and it has been accepted and validated 2 days later. I have done nothing, but wait since then. Nothing changes, phone calls, emails etc. no luck. It just sits there waiting, meanwhile they charged me late payments anytime I was behind on payments. Now they owe me and no response. Missouri should be ashamed.

Hi,
I just checked the status of my filed returns. It is completed and was issued yesterday, I didn’t get my taxes though. What does completed mean? Will I receive it by mail within few days or it will be an electronic transfer?
Thanks

Called Gov. Parson’s office. A woman took my name, info and a call back number. Said she would send it over to Dept of Rev and they should call me back. I won’t hold my breath, but I appreciated someone actually answering the phone.
Give it a shot. 573-751-3222

Going on almost 14 weeks. They are holding our money against our will. Who wants to get a lawyer and file a class action lawsuit?

Still waiting. Going into week 14.
There should be a class action against them.

Was told 3 weeks ago rebate was ready to send out but no money to pay refunds. Waiting on money about 2 weeks i was told?

Week 12 is Monday. Still nothing. Can’t get anyone on the phone and website still says “validating” like it has since I filed 2/13.
If it was EVERYONE would be one thing, but why do some get their refunds in 10 days or so and others wait forever?
If they would at least acknowledge the situation or make some response, but just ignoring us is infuriating.
I e-mailed Elliot Davis (You Paid 4 It – Fox 2 – St. Louis), sent it to 5 on Your Side (KSDK – St. Louis) and emailed the governor. Not even a response from anyone.
I guess I’ll try wasting an hour tomorrow to see if I can talk to someone.

Filed Feb. 7th and still waiting. Says it’s still validating. I have no offsets or anything that would stall it and I’m not in military(which sucks that you all had to do extra to get your refund. You shouldn’t have to as much as all of you have done enough for our country in service). I had one W-2 and 1098-E. That’s it and still nothing. Was told nothing is wrong with return and to be patient today(person was rude but i know they get a lot of calls with probably not much info to give). I hope it’s not much longer though, could really use it.

It’s been 12 weeks since I filed my taxes for 2019. I filed on February 14 and I was accepted the next and now it’s been 12 weeks and still no sign of it coming any time soon. This is frustrating. They better be paying interest to me on my money!!!

For my 2018 Missouri State taxes… ITS has been 13 plus weeks. And nothing… No return and no status update beyond received. SO frustrating… We don’t even live in Missouri and with this … Not sure we want toooo ever move across the river.

We have waiting since mid Feb for our tax refund and still stuck on validating. Tried calling dept of revenue and the line for taxes just disconnects. I am a mom of 6 kids. I need my refund. This is crazy how long it takes. I always seem to get mine before my federal.

Just read @Lori’s message. Disregard my post, Waiting. You will get it anyway soon.

@Waiting, Thank you! If you want, you could try sending your LES as proof of refund. A representative just emailed me from the email with which I sent the LES. In it, the representative told me when I was to expect my refund and how much it would be. I will get my money tomorrow it seems.
Oh and the interest? A whopping $7.00. Lol! Better than nothing, I suppose…..

Finally! Received this message today:
The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.
May 6th will be 12 weeks to the day they received my return, which was on Feb 6th. I will keep you posted as to when I receive the money and if any interest was added to it.
-
Jennifer J Kincaid
Taxes accepted on 2/10 and still yet to receive my refund! First 6 weeks then 12 weeks we are now over that and get automated responses that takes 6-8 weeks. This is ridiculous because we all know we would getting charged penalties for everyday we were late. I have spent multiple hours on the phone to get the response of we are behind but yet some I know received their refunds just a couple weeks after filing. In starting to figure up interest so I better be getting a large increase if I ever see MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!
-
Lori
New tactic on the states’s side. 573-751-3505 is automated only now. Every option you leads you back to the automated system. This is the Dept of Revenue’s Directors office number…573-751-4405. Ask for the Directors. Flood them with calls!!!! I plan on calling every single day until this is resolved. And the Auditor and Governor s offices as well.
-
Peter
Update! Now going on 13 weeks and still no refund!! I electronically filed February 10 and accepted next day, but still processing!! I called and waited 45 minutes to talk with someone. I was told that they were still processing and she also told me they are way behind, but no good reason why they are so behind!!
-
jerry nedlin
I can’t believe that not one word of this fiasco is even mentioned on the daily local news. This governors office won’t answer any of our calls or take any responsibility for this situation. Everything about this situation is being covered up. We need more people to keep calling the media to report this

Update: DD on 4/30. It was significantly less than expected. I was informed I would be receiving a notice in the mail of adjustment. I am unhappy, but at least we do not owe.

Still validating my refund after weeks. I gave up calling as I see no quicker response by doing it . The state of Missouri should be ashamed of themselves but I know they’re not. Show Me State, I just their showing us who’s boss

I filed my taxes on January 30th, 2019. It is now May 1, 2019. I STILL have not recieved my refund. This is very frustrating for me, the timeline on my refund status says 12 weeks. It is well past that now and I have still not heard anything at all. This shouldn’t even be a problem, it is ridiculous.
-
Angry as hell
I was informed that calling them wasn’t going to help me, according to the agent on the phone. I stated I will still keep calling every single business day until the refund is in my account. This is the second agent to tell me that they are behind and that they have no time frame to meet. She actually said it will take as long as necessary, even until tge end of the year.
If I owed they wouldn’t accept that answer.

I filed my property tax credit claim on Jan 7th and been validated just a few days ago now they say that an adjustment has been made to my only $600 refund I am100% disabled and had everything filled out by h&r block now no telling how much money I am going to lose. And for what reason?

My new plan is to call every single day and ask what’s the hold up. As of now I don’t know if my filing is ok or if there is an issue. My job states I must be in compliance and cannot owe any major unpaid debt or owe any taxes. I plan to remind them of this every single day until my check is deposited.

***A repost from my helpful post from 2 weeks ago, this will shed light for all of you still waiting, wondering, and upset. Ps. Received refund at 12 weeks almost to the day.***
Hello everyone. I found this website when trying to find others who may or may not be having a VERY LATE Missouri tax refund.
My mother is in the same boat. I filed both hers and mine on Jan 25th via TurboTax.
I received mine within 14 days (as per usual from previous years). She is still waiting on hers (11 weeks later), with the DOR website still saying “VALIDATING.”5 calls to Dept. of Revenue in the previous many weeks, stonewalled everytime with generic answers; “give it time” “it takes up to 12 weeks” “we upgraded our system/computers to make the process more efficient” etc. Blah blah blah.
I tell them, how is your new system/upgrades better if it’s now almost 3 months and my mother is STILL waiting for a few hundred $$ tax return, when in all previous years it generally takes 2-3 weeks, at most! They have no response.
Friday I called the State Auditor and they answered on the first ring. Very helpful and friendly. She directed me to the just issues, yearly TIMELINESS OF TAX RETURN ISSUANCE report. So I went and read the report and discovered the answers to how Missouri has totally screwed up our tax returns and apparently, the protocol now in place going forward, which likely means these LATE returns will plague us Missourians in all years going forward!!
–Here is the 2019 report, 20 pgs. Everyone should download and read this!
http://app.auditor.mo.gov/Repository/Press/2019025166229.pdf–Here is the summary from 2018 (which is plaguing us this year):
“Administration paying other bills ahead of individual refunds due to state’s lack of cash”
https://www.auditor.mo.gov/content/auditor-galloway-finds-increasing-number-taxpayers-receiving-late-tax-refunds–Summary for 2019 (focuses more on the botched tax tables and mishandled withholdings, but the last few paragraphs are the timeliness issue addressed):
“Audit finds January 2019 withholding changes made unlawfully, will result in over-withholding for more than half of Missouri taxpayers”
https://auditor.mo.gov/content/auditor-galloway-calls-administration-take-responsibility-misleading-missourians-their-taxesSo we may well be waiting until May-June for our returns!! And not just this year, but potentially from now on… regardless of if we are the early filers in January-February!
It seems they’ve went from a tax refund system of issuance IN ORDER OF FILING date, to a TIER system that has 9 (Nine) “Priority” categories that they put each taxpayer into. I was in Priority 1, my mother in Priority 3. Both of us have/had very simple, few hundred dollar returns.
Missouri arbitrarily pays a few returns each day in each Priority category, apparently at their own discretion and speed, with no transparency to anyone, not even the State Auditor! The state hasa limited X-amount of money available each day to pay, and then repeats the process the next day…. a slow trickle method, hence our VERY LATE refunds. This is a recipe for botched tax filing/returns/refunds going forward year and year which is NOT RIGHT. We should not stand for this.
Also, as you’ll read on the State Auditor’s 2018 and 2019 reports summaries for the Timeliness of Tax Refund Issuance, Missouri is prioritizing and paying out other (very vague and no accountability) “expenses” first and then if any money is left over each day/week/month, then paying Missouri citizens rightful tax refunds!!!!
At the advice of the State Auditor Galloway, I called Gov. Mike Parsons (worthless) this morning. They’ve disabled the voicemail, no one will answer the calls, and even the operator has been made unavailable!!! A total stonewall from the Governor’s office and no way to get through or talk to anyone! Most likely because of this tax refund debacle.
So I urge everyone to read the links I posted, call the State Auditor Nicole Galloway (be friendly, as she and her staff were friendly and are nonpartisan)….
(573) 751-4213Call the worthless, inept new Governor Mike Parsons and call him out/complain:
(573) 751-3222And lastly, as I did this morning, call News Channel 4/KMOV investigative team, so hopefully they can take this issue up, or we could very well see this happening year after year going forward… or any of your local news channels..
KMOV News 4 St Louis – (314)621-4444Thank you for reading, hopefully this sheds some light on what the hell is going on in Missouri. I am not happy and I’m certain many others aren’t either…
-
Felicia
First I got 4-6weeks processing time…then it moved to 6-8weeks, then 10-12weeks then 12 weeks. This is an email i got today.
Thank you for your reply.
Internal and external debt offsets are currently having issues that prevent the Department from offsetting to other state agencies, colleges, and housing authorities. Please allow time as the debt offset team is aware of the situation and works diligently to update the new computer system. Also, be advised that refunds are being held up longer than the expected 10-12 week processing time to ensure accuracy.
Thank you,

We filed 2/13/19, still have not gotten it. Called the Missouri state auditor, Nicole Galloway, she took my name and phone number for a complaint she has going. She also suggested I call Dept. of Revenue, which I have done and will do again, she also suggested I call the Governors Office which I will do tomorrow, to late today. I also found the gov. contact me page.
Nicole Galloway 573-751-4213
Dept. of Revenue 573-751-3505
Gov. office 573-751-3222
gov.mo.gov/contact-usThis is unacceptable, call Nicole’s office get on that complaint. We drive for a trucking company in St. Louis so expect this B.S. again next year.
Good Luck. -

Here is how my call went;
Waited one hour.
Got a rep that sounds like they work from an overseas call center.
Explain it’s been 13 weeks. 12 by their account & I need an update.
Rep checks and says still “validating” and wait until the process completes.
I say first it was 6 weeks then 12 now when ever y’all feel like it huh?
He replied it should I be a week more. Same thing the rep told me last week.
I request supervisor and he said that wasn’t necessary.
I still insist when he said the supervisor will just tell me the same. I told him well let him tell me.
Then he said there are no supervisors. A bunch of shit. Supposedly one will call me in 48-72 hours. I think he wanted me off the phone and to call back in 48-72 hours. Smh. -
Filed 1/29 here they say they did not get it until 2/4 today is 12 weeks, can not get through and have been validating since the beginning.
-
Angry as hell
Just called again. I push “pay yoir taxes” when I call. I then tell them that I don’t know if it has been validated as fact or if I need to pay in.
The woman on the end stated that no one will receive before 12 weeks, which is not the truth. Everyone around me received their state returns in February. She said I now need to be patient and it could be 20-28 weeks.
-
Bob
Taken from a Fox 4 News in KC article.
According to Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway a 2015 law established a timer and you’re supposed to get your refund within 45 days of filing. But Galloway said hundreds of thousands are waiting longer than that. “They may wait up to four months as the state pays other bills and pushes of people ahead of them in line,” she said. Even if your refund is processed and ready, the state may delay it to pay for other debts. “That means taxpayers are put second while the legislature and the governor’s priorities are put first,” Galloway said. Galloway also found late refunds are costing the state extra money because they accrue interest. Since the new 45-day law, Missouri has spent around $730,000 dollars just on that interest.
-
Bob
They’ve had my return since February and it still says “validating”. Won’t happen again as I changed my withholding so, if anything, I will have to pay in a small amount.
-
TC
Week 13 for me as well. I’ve called twice. Mine is under $200….
-
This is ridiculous 😤. We’ve paid our taxes all year but when it’s time to pay us back people have to wait longer than expected weeks and months. SMH.
-
Dorothy
Tomorrow starts week 13 for me. I will be calling.

Update! The message I received was “refund is in queue to be deposited.” I filed 4/9.

Hi Missouri refund sufferers. I am currently at week 11 and counting for my refund. I have called and only got the standard 10-12 week recording. I have reached out via email and basically got the same response. Has anyone had my luck getting their MO refund? Any tips or pointers are greatly appreciated. Do you know if they are just automatically waiting the full 12 weeks before even beginning to work on your refund?
-
Lauren B
All of the numbers I have tried lead me to an automated system and not a live human being.
-
Linda
Been validating since mid-February. Have passed the 10 week mark. Others file and get refund within a week. Not sure how they pick who gets a refund and who waits 12+ weeks.
-
Olga M.
Mailed my return in a very beginning of April. Just today decided to check on the status (and yes I supposed to get a small under $100 refund).
Their system shows that they never received my return! WTF???
I entered more that once and double checked info is enrered correctly.
What number should I call? This is bullshit! -
Lauren B
We have a very larger than normal expected refund as we took a significant decrease in household income in 2018. Needless to say we really need this windfall to catch up. I am now fearful that due to the size, we will be waiting a prolonged period of time. I am so upset and crestfallen at the moment. Last year, i.receoved our refund in less than two weeks. This just isn’t fair. We suffer for the sins of our government. What can I do? I feel helpless. Stuck on “validating return” for weeks.
-
Cat
I filed on jan.29th and been validateing since. Everytime I call I get told to allow the full 12 weeks . This is getting ridiculous!!! There is not suppose to be anything wrong with my return so what’s the hold up?
-
Donna
12 weeks and still waiting filed 1/28/2019 and still nothing
-
Pamela
Many changes*

FINALLY received my state return DD two days ago, was exactly 12 weeks to the day. Though the website and automated service are still showing as still validating. Their system is seriously screwed and many charges need to be made! There is absolutely no reason why people should be waiting 12+ weeks to receive THEIR money.
Good luck everyone! I’m moving to Texas in a couple of days and so glad I won’t have to deal with this BS again. -
Angry as hell
I just contacted DOR. I have an email stating my return was accepted on Jan 29. The man whom I spoke with stated they received it Feb 19, that I still have several weeks to wait, my taxes were complicated, etc.
My taxes were very simple, one college age dependent and under $200 for a refund.
I stated that I will be referring all information to Galloway and Parsons offices. I also said that I will be at a local fundraiser this weekend with my state senator and that I plan on mentioning this to him. I informed them that I had already notified my state rep last week. Now the supervisor is talking about expediting my return.
-
Frustrated
It’s going on 10 weeks still nothing. I called the state auditor and governors office yesterday and today called the news I’m sick of the shenanigans! Call Elliot Davis you paid for it! It’s over 2months and you can’t give me a better answer than 10-12 weeks possibly. I filed feb 14 it’s about the principal now. If I owed them I’d have to pay interest and a penalty if not received by April 15. They are going to keep giving us tax payers the run around until something gets done. Call the governor office everyday and the news flood um with complaints.
-
Jamie
This Friday will be 13 weeks since my refund was accepted. Still in validating status. I called and they said there is no issue with my refund but they have no idea why it is taking so long or when I will received the refund. This is ridiculous. It is only $500 but that money is mine and they are holding it for whatever reason. They said if I don’t receive it in another month, then to call back! Another month?! WTF?!
-
Waiting
Still no status change on my end. Called today and was told they were going to look into my account and call me back later today. I doubt I will be hearing back at this rate.
-
Angry as hell
I wonder if we should start contacting attorneys about class action suits? I filed in mid January and am still holding. It seems to me this is only getting worse unless a group takes it to court and sues.
-
Christy
WOW.. It is taking forever… Why does it take so long .. I mean there form is only 48 pages of loops and turns… ANyone can see that is easy…
-
Dorothy
I called yesterday and pressed the option about needing to pay. Spoke to someone and told them at 12 weeks because I filed 1/29. They said well we didn’t get it until 2/4 so you are not at 12 weeks. I said that’s fine because Monday will make 12 weeks from 2/4 so then what? She said I guess you’re right that would make 12 weeks. She said well don’t call on Monday. Call on Tuesday and we will escalate to a supervisor but you should have movement from processing by then. Yeah right. We will see. 🙄
-
Lori Canada
Going on week 13. No movement on the tracker. This is past the point if ridiculous.
Can’t get a human on the phone. Only automated system that says 6-8 weeks. -
Twinbaby
Ok guys. I have some interesting news. I called the MO DOR again today and they told me (after I pressed) that they need proof that I am in the military. They need my LES. I am to email my LES to [email protected]. Hopefully, my refund will get released soon after.
-
Dorothy
Tomorrow makes exactly 12 weeks for me.
-
Twinbaby
I called the state auditor’s office. They are tallying the number of calls received for late refunds so that it can go in the next year’s audit report.
Ugh! So frustrating. I just want my money
-
Kendra
2018- filed Jan. 24 accepted by missouro Jan. 27 still says validating and we r coming up on week 13.
I call routinely. Every other day at least. I’m also waiting on an adjustment from 2013, that was supposed to be back initiated six weeks ago. And when I call everyone I talk to says nothing is listed about an adjustment. Good thing I kept the email.
-
Chris S.
To all the new people, please read my long post from a few days ago (do a page search to find it quickly). I spent a lot of time and effort over past 3 months to figure out what the hell is going on…
Also, yes, by law Missouri is “required” to pay interest if your refund is “late” (past 45 days of receiving your return).
Do they actually pay any interest on late or very late returns? No. -
Debbie
Thanks for the helpful update. I filed February 14 and I’m still waiting!! It’s still says “validating “ same as it has for many weeks. I read that if it’s more than 45 days they have to pay interest. I’ll just be happy to get me money at this point!!
-
Debbie
It’s been 9 weeks and I still don’t have my
Missouri state tax refund. When I check online it’s only at step 2 “validating” it’s been like that retry Much the entire time.
I filed on February 14.
So, now they have to pay me interest on my refund. Is that right?? -
Waiting
Russell I have also been waiting since January and mine is military pay as well. It is getting frustrating. I have contacted them and keep getting the same response telling me to wait. I think I will follow Chris’s advice and start contacting other agencies.
-
Russell
Filed in late January. I received my federal returns in late February, I am currently still waiting on Missouri to send me my returns. Here it is mid April and no update, and it’s all military pay it all should be coming back to me.
-
When Will it come
Filed Feb 10th Still waiting I counted my 12 weeks to be May 5th. If we were later than April 15th we would be paying a fine and interest. Mine says validating and it will take 12 weeks…I am under the assumption it will be exactly 12 weeks at this point. I have called it does not help. I am not going broke waiting on a couple hundred dollars but its the principal. I guess they are waiting on those that paid on time to pay us…its crazy.
-
Jordan
I tried emailing the refund inquiry email but just got an automated response that tax returns will take 6-8 weeks, blah, blah, blah. So I guess emailing them won’t work anymore. This whole thing is bull.
-
Melissa
I filed for the circuit breaker on 4- 08
( being I am disabled, and receive ssi) my status has said validated for several days now, does this still mean I A may have to wait 12 weeks? In the past it has only taken 1, sometimes 2 weeks. Should I call, and ask them if this is going to take months? -
William
I like you have been inquiring about my state tax return. I’ve already 6 weeks ago received my IRS refund. This is some B.S. The state of Missouri uses our refunds to pay state bills. At least that’s what the Missouri State auditor said.
-
Twinbaby
Mr. Chris, I am so happy for you! My next step is to call the auditor
-
Charity
12 weeks, as in my return was accepted 1/28/19…still nothing.
-
Charity
It’s been 12 weeks and three days since my Missouri return was accepted. It says ‘issue date’ was yesterday 4/16/2019. However no deposit yet. (I lived part of 2018 in Iowa, before we bought our home.) Federal and Iowa returns camr two months ago, direct deposited, so I know the banking information was correct. It’s sitting on finished and I can’t find a deposit schedule, so I’m up in the air, trying to figure out exactly when Missouri might actually finish it. This is so frustrating.
-
Lori
They received my taxes Feb 19th and it’s been over 8 weeks still says validating. Has anyone received there’s that filed in February?
-

Update:
11 weeks to the day, my mother received her Mo. refund.
Preposterous. Previous 2 years received in 14 days or less. Some improvement.
-
Jamie
This is ridiculous. My return was accepted in mid Jan. and I still haven’t received my refund. Been over 12 weeks now and I can’t get a live person to talk to about it. Sitting in “validating return” status since Jan.
-
Donna Polk
It was the end January when filed and accepted and still nothing. I call and get the run around i should have already had my money and been done. When am i going to get my refund MO.

http://app.auditor.mo.gov/Repository/Press/2019025166229.pdf–Here is the summary from 2018 (which is plaguing us this year):
Thank you for reading, hopefully this sheds some light on what the hell is going on in Missouri. I am not happy and I’m certain many others aren’t either…

I did not receive my 2017 Missouri State Tax return. I filed with 1040now.com and now I am realizing most probably it did not go through. How can I claim my 2017 tax return. This year for 2018 I sent paper copy and its been received by the department of revenue as I checked in the online tracking site.

Twinbaby
Thank you, Mr. Waiting! I will do the same. I hope the little message we get doesn’t change from 12 weeks to 24 weeks. Lol
-
Waiting
@twinbaby
I’ll keep you posted if I get any updates. I think we have similar returns, out of state military filling NRI form. I should be hitting my 12th week next week, so I’m hoping to see an update.
-
Twinbaby
Thank you, Ms. Jen!

e-filed & accepted @ 2/23.
was validating as of 4/11.
received a notification status was changed this morning. the refund was direct-deposited today. There was no adjustment to the refund amount.
-
Monica
It’ll be 11 weeks tomorrow since I filed and was accepted. Called DoR a few days ago and the lady said, “yeah, you’re in week 10… it usually takes 10-12 weeks, just hang in there a bit longer, it should be there any day….” 🙄😠
-
Kelly Beasley
This is ridiculous. It’s been validating for 7 weeks! Filed 2/24/2019. I’m a single mom of 3, working and going to school full time, graduating in less than a year from SEMO, and then going to Law School. My refund is almost $2000. I could really use the money. This is absurd.

Jen
I email dept of revenue. [email protected]
I asked the status of my 2018 refund. They took over 3 weeks to respond. But like I said earlier, she sent me an email back stating she would email me again with refund info and the next day she replied saying DD 4/11.
-
Victoria
My return was accepted January 22 and it is still in the validating stage. It is not even over $200.
-
Twinbaby
Emailed who, maam?I would like to do the same thing
-
Jen
Filed Feb 6th.
Emailed to in inquire about status. They emailed me back which took 3 weeks for them to reply but said receiving return on 4/11 and tracker updated tro rhe same today. -
David Vaughan
Yes I filed my taxes on February 4th and still have not received my state refund can you please let me know thank you
-
Pamela
This is just getting absolutely ridiculous now. Well over 10 weeks and nothing, but if roles were reversed and the state were waiting on a payment you best believe they’d do everything in their power to get their money.
-
Rosemary Frank
Check mark on received
Check mark on validation
Now what? -
Nothing yet
I filed electronically using turbo taxon 1/28/19. It’s been in validating status ever since (as of 4/10/19).

This is crazy!! Ours was accepted on Feb 20th and still no check. We filed electronically and have always been paid with in two weeks. Mo tracker says 12wks and when I call they say 6-8 wks, so not sure which it is. Hoping we have it by next week to pay our federal with!!
-
ALINE
Six weeks still no change on tracker …..still have not received ,but they had to sign for it to receive it,that was on 2-21-2019.I HAVE NO CLUE WHATS GOING ON!
-
Dambyrds
Does anyone know what number to call to speak with someone about my delayed refund? I’ve tried email and of course did check the online where’s my refund status.
-
Twinbaby
I just got off the phone with a representative. She said that the only comment on my return is Military Process (something something) Review. I asked her if the fact that I am military is holding up the processing and she said she was not sure. But she said I should get this month, since it has been processing for 8 weeks already. Well, lol, I knew that already.
-
Richard
Still validating, accepted 1-31
-
Rick
Mine was filed on Feb 1 and FINALLY says my refund was issued on 4/3/2019 BUT it is not yet in my bank account. I have double checked my account information which is correct. I do NOT understand why it says it has been issued but it is not yet in my account. Has anyone else had similar issues?
-
Jen
I filed on Feb 6. Still validating…..ugh
-
Twinbaby
I’m still validating too. My return was accepted on Feb 5th.
-
Waiting
@monica mine was accepted around that time and it’s still validating! It’s so frustrating
-
Monica
Saturday will be 10 weeks since I filed and was accepted (1/26) ….. Still validating. 😩
-
Diane
Got one fourth of expected return through direct deposit. No explanation as to why the refund was drastically reduced – the online que still says processing my return and expect 12 weeks – the phone message says 6-8 weeks. This system is really off.
-
Sad tax payer
Wohooo they paid me plus $nterest!!! Whoooo maybe they shd be doing this often lol…ok don’t mind me am just excited. It’s abt damn time!!!
-
WoeMe
Woohoo!

Well I found out that I was issued a paper check. However, it was returned to them because I had an address change since completing my taxes. I signed up for DD. But I’m getting a paper check since this is my first time filing in Mo. Hopefully it doesn’t take long to get my new check. Just happy I should see money soon :-)
-
Pamela
Happy to see some people are actually beginning to get their state back. Mine was accepted 1/29, validating since 2/7 with zero change since. 9 weeks as of today. I’d be happy with any form of movement right about now especially since my husband was laid off at the beginning of February we actually need the little bit that we’re getting back.
-
When Will it come
Filed & Accepted Feb 10th, Lived in Missouri my whole life, the last 2 years I owed the state a small amount ( I paid them on time) this year had a little extra taken out for state taxes so I would not owe. They do not owe me much at all less than 300 bucks. My Boss filed 3 weeks ago they owed him thousands and he got his State before he got his federal, it makes ZERO sense why they are pulling some and not others. I was at 6 weeks, now I am at 12 weeks the phone calls are wait wait wait and they tell you nothing! IF I owed I have until April 15th to pay or pay interest and late fees. At this rate I won’t get it until May! This is not right!
-
Waiting
So happy to hear others getting their money! I’m still waiting, it was accepted Jan29, and has been validating since. Called once and said to just wait. I hope I’m next!
-
Cecil R Dickerson
Your tax return has been processed. Refund issue date: 4/2/2019. Finished!!
-
Jason
Mine finally hit my netspend
-
Twinbaby
Ok so it is an 8 week wait. So maybe on the 4th or 5th my status will change too
-
Cecil R Dickerson
Ok, movement. My return accepted 2/1 and finally moved from validating to, “The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.” Not counting the money yet but that sounds good. How long is the queue? lol.
-
Waiting
I am hopeful seeing all these new updates. I am still waiting on mine, still says validating!
-
Jesse
I think the MO refund tool broke. Filed 1/28 and it doesn’t say validating? I don’t trust it. I expect validating and it says refund on 4/2. That just can’t be right. 😂😂😂
-
Jason
I filed 2-1 Just now checked and it says refund issue date of 4-2
-
ALINE
They sign for my return from usps on Feb 21 2019.On there website it says they have not received it yet, check and see if my info is correct.Has anyone that sent paper return received there’s yet?
-

Hi everyone. I filed my taxes on 2/15 and I still am stuck in processing for my Missouri Tax refund. The notice below when I check my refund status says 12 weeks for processing!! Is this normal? Has anyone had luck calling the state of Missouri and getting answers or movement? I tried the email option but just received a generic auto response. Thanks for any feedback that you can provide.
-
Tonta
Been validating since Feb 10. I have two different statuses The on line refund tracker says validating and the automated phone line says received and processing. I have emailed them twice, and emailed the governor no response. This is very aggravating to say least.
-
WoeMe
Glad to hear someone got theirs. I haven’t seen anything filed 1/21.
-
Jeremy
Just wanted to update everyone. I got the message below this morning, and I also received my direct deposit.
The Department has adjusted your return. You will receive a notice by mail, dated 3/28/2019. This notice will explain the Department’s adjustments. When you receive this notice, review it carefully and follow the remedies listed in the notice.
For some reason they took about $13 out of my refund. Weird….
@Jen, filed with HRBlock 1/30, accepted same day. Validating since then until 3/28 when it went to processing, received DD next day.
-
Jen
When did you file Jeremy??
I spoke to a very nice person yesterday. He didn’t say anything was wrong with my taxes that it is just still processing. I filed Feb 6 accepted some day.
-
Twinbaby
Well now I am so encouraged. This means that next weekend I should be getting mine. (My return was accepted on 5 February
-
Twinbaby
Finally! Congrats, Jeremy
-
Diane
Yay Jeremy!
-
Jeremy
FINALLY!!!!! Something moved!
The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.
-
Amber Dittmer
Filed on January 29th received January 29th accepted January 29th ever since then it is been processing it is now March 28th and I finally got somewhere on the website it says mine is in next in queue to be sent out finally what I did do is yesterday I emailed them and it was very kind and I told them I know that they are busy but if they could just check to see what is going on with mine I would appreciate it and a lady sent me a nice message back and said absolutely and then today my bars went to three bars and I will be getting my return this weekend so that shows you that being nice and kind can get you a little bit further and being ugly and nasty even though I was pissed off and I probably used every word language that I knew against them hey at least I’m getting my return this weekend huh so I hope all you guys get yours too soon if not sit tight cuz it was a long two months waiting
-
Diane
Jeremy I hope you get it soon. This is so unusual for Missouri.
-
Jeremy
Diane,
Its only been 12 weeks since January 1st. Most people filed later than that. I filed 1/30, accepted same day and still waiting. its been 8 weeks for me today.
-
Diane
I signed up for text alerts and got an alert this morning but nothing changed on my return according to website. It still says 12 weeks to verify. Has anyone had to wait the entire 12 weeks to get refund?
-
Sad tax payer
Can someone please tell me which is their email? There are so many contact infos am confused which one to use. I read here someone who emailed them with their return details and was told when to expect their refund. I just want to know there is nothing wrong with mine.
Thx -
Alfredia Hogan
Mail my Missouri State taxes off on February10 they receive them on February12 today March the 26 is 6 weeks and it still say they veldating them and people I now got there’s in a week or 2 for the same as I here it’s been 6 week’s for me just don’t understand it
-
JoJo
Filed on 28th of January, been validating ever since. Called and they said it would probably be mid April before I see it. I asked if I would get interest since its been more than 45 days and he laughed and said no. GRRRR!!!!!! He did state there was nothing wrong with my return or nothing holding it up….
-
Waiting
No status update on my end, it is still validating! Ugh so frustrating!
-
Jeremy
Also, I got an email back from the DOR, they basically told me to wait 10 -12 weeks and that my refund would eventually come and if the interest is more than $1, that would automatically be included.
I also filed a complaint with the state auditor’s office. I think we should all file a complaint. Email the address below.
-
Jeremy
@Twinbaby, I used HR Block.
-
Twinbaby
Maybe it is a turbotax issue. That’s how I filed mine this year.
-
REBECCAH
Yet another year of MO taking their sweet a** time issuing refunds! This is so frustrating! My boyfriend filed the first week of February and I filed a few days later. At first it said 6 weeks for validation, now its saying 12 weeks! Wtf we need our money NOW. It shouldn’t take them so long when Federal got their stuff done in a timely manner. I’ve read in several places that it MO takes longer than 45 days after acceptance to issue refunds they have to pay interest. It’s been longer than 45 days for each of us but I doubt we see any interest when we finally get paid. We didn’t last year when they took a lot longer than their allotted time.
-
Krystal
I filed 2/1 2019 and still haven’t received my state MO refund , at first it said 6 weeks for validation and now it’s say 12 weeks ! Idk what is going on !!
-
Jesse
Still validating absolutely ridiculous. Significant other filed January 28th HR Block online (so no its not TurboTax issue) Head of Household, EITC, ACTC and school credits. Federal received a month ago!
-
…..
I filed and was accepted on Jan 28 2019 have been validating since…. Still waiting… I have never had this problem before.
-
E Hendrix
We filed using TurboTax 2/2/19. it has been validating all this time. We have never had this problem before. Federal was here within 2 weeks. We know people that received theirs weeks ago. We live in Missouri. What is the problem? Could it be TurboTax?
-
Jen
I filed and excepted February 6th. Used turbo tax. I have received my federal. Still validating on the tracker. Idk what’s going on. My state refund is a small amount.
-
Donna M.
I completed our Federal and Missouri taxes via TurboTax and e-filed on Feb. 7th. We received our Federal refund within 2 weeks. The refund tracker today for Missouri continues saying our return is still “validating.” I had e-filed my mother’s taxes on February 10th, and she received her Missouri refund check within 2 weeks, so some people are receiving refunds. However my mother’s refund was considerably smaller than ours is. My husband thinks they are holding off on the larger refunds because the state does not have the money and is waiting more more funds to come in. If there is something wrong with our return, we have received no requests for further documentation.
Whatever is the problem, we have not had this sort of thing before. Our taxes last year were about the same as this year, and we received our refund right away last year. We are at the 6 week waiting mark this year and I too saw the change on the Refund Tracker site that went from 6 weeks to 12 weeks about a week ago.
It is interesting that they did a small story on Channel 4 news last week on why people were having to wait for their refunds and the Missouri Dept of Revenue woman they interviewed said there was an “8 day turnaround!” . She must be seriously out of touch with her department’s ability to process our tax returns judging by the number of people complaining on these posts!
-
WoeMe
I don’t live in Missouri. I lived there for 9 months

I live in missouri and im still waiting accepted feb 06
-

I filed in 1/28 and still validating. I live in Illinois
-
Waiting
@jeremy @twinbaby
I’m not living in MO either, filled MO-NRI form with my taxes. I wonder if they are filling those last.
-
Jeremy
@Twinbaby, same here. I live in Illinois. I think maybe they are short on funds and want to take care of their own citizens first. Its getting ridiculous, though. I’ve never lived in Missouri, just commute across the border ever day.
-
Twinbaby
Let’s see if there is a common theme here. Does anyone who is still waiting actually still live in Missouri? I don’t.
-
Cecil R Dickerson
My return was accepted Feb 1st and hasn’t moved from validation. Used Turbotax and everything was right and triple checked. This is ridiculous. I want my money and dont wish to loan it to the state of Missouri. If I owed them money, they would be sending nasty letters. UNSATISFACTORY!
-
Etowngirl
Well March 21st, validating since February 11th, no change since. This is ridiculous, I used Turbo Tax & our return was accepted February 8th. Not sure the holdup but our one daughter & her husband had theirs back within 2 weeks & had the EIC on it! Just don’t understand what the deal is!
-
Twinbaby
I just don’t understand the wait. Unless Missouri doesn’t have the funds to pay the refunds.
-
Waiting
Still nothing! Have been stuck at validating since the first week of Feb. Active Duty military living outside of MO. This is getting ridiculous.
-
Donna Polk
Are u gonna give money back this year are what u have had my return since 02022019 and nothing as of yet and never shows any thing has been done since u have had it. Very concern on the states lazy
-
Sandra R McKinnon
I am a CPA and one of my clients has been waiting for renters credit since 1/28/19 and another since 2/25/19. These disabled or elderly people either paid real estate taxes or rent which include state tax. They should be paid before the legistlators.
-
Sad tax payer
@Colleen that happened to me too omg! I got a text saying the status of my MO return had changed…cllicked the link with excitement only to find it went back from processing to validating! Am so over these pple! If they are auditing and not paying, they shd just let me know! I don’t want to access that silly site again.
-

Well, at least my PTC sent in January is through with all the steps on their refund status site. It’s been two weeks since they said “Your tax return has been processed. Refund issue date: 3/5/2019.” Haven’t seen it, don’t know when I’ll see it. According to canned phone messages, if I don’t receive after 30 days, contact them. But that does little good. Emails to their sites, both of them, have not been answered and I’m at 10 days, just asking a simple “When can I expect the refund check?” And can’t get any live person on the phone. Those of you who did, congratulations. I could have walked to Jefferson City and back by now. But, on the bright side, I’m getting it one of these days. Hope’s it before next year.
-
Accepted February 5th. Was on 6 week processing which changed to 12 weeks last week. Called DOR and they just said be patient because it typically takes 10-12 weeks for a return to fully process. I am also receiving a PTC. This year you have to email a copy of the form signed by the landlord. Did this. Asked about the PTC, and they said it did not show as missing, so it must have been accepted. 42 days now. Getting frustrated.
-
Cecil R Dickerson
Refund accepted 3.1.19 and still nothing. Used Turbo Tax so everything was correct and in proper form. This is far, far too slow of a process. Computers/internet makes everything else much faster. NOT SO WITH MO DOR!!!!
-
Active duty
So mad. I’ve waited almost two months for this notice??? Seriously happy I’ll never be filing with this crap state ever again.
The Department has adjusted your return. You will receive a notice by mail, dated 3/19/2019. This notice will explain the Department’s adjustments. Not sure what the hell happened, but will have to wait for the letter. Sick of the shit…

…..
Missouri state received and accepted my tax refund and started processing on 1/28/19. It is now 3/17/19 I know nothing but it has been processing for more than 8 weeks now. I have talked to the DOR who tells you nothing except they are busy and be patient. I have emailed the governors office 2 times and still have not herd anything or received anything. I am over this state too!!!
-
Really
From what I understand their 45 days doesn’t start until April 15 or when you file, whichever is later. No one who filed early will be paid interest unless they don’t get it processed June 1st
-
Michael Douglas
I’m at 42 days and still “processing”… 3 more days and this stupid state will owe me interest. I’m owed hundreds of dollars and this is just unbelievable. MO DOR is a JOKE. They were audited last year because this damn states in debt and they take peoples money, flip it to pay debts and push off returns as long as possible until you make a big enough ruckus. If you’re patient they just let you wait. Sooo over this state!
-
Colleen
Text update this morning says my stays went from processing back to validating. Anyone else get this status?
-
Twinbaby
My return was accepted 2/5. As of 3/15, I am still validating. I hope it’s true that we are getting our refund plus interest. I was hoping to pay my federal taxes with. Looks like I have request an installment plan.
-
Eto
Not sure if this will interest anyone or if allowed to post but thought I’d share!

UPDATE
After seeing the change from 6 to 12 weeks on the website I called them. I was informed because of some changes that took place affected some taxes payers there’s be a delay. These changes occurred in December & they were behind in getting them in place in time. What does this mean:
The length of time is between 10 to 12 weeks from date your return began processing, in my case February 11th. So I basically have up to 4 more weeks before I could see my return. Totally ridiculous because we tax payers shoul have been updated somehow of this! So the wait continues…, -
Vanessa
Mine were accepted 1/30 and have been stuck in the validating step since. It said 4 weeks, then 6 and now 12. Anyone that was accepted in January actually get it yet?
-
Jeremy Gillis
This is getting ridiculous, but I am glad I am not alone! Is there any way to get any real info?
-
D. Martin
As Sad Tax Payer said! They doubled the validating time from 6 to 12 weeks! What the hell? They have been validating my return since 2/10, now they add another 6 weeks!!!
-
Sad tax payer
So now the online system has updated the wait time for processing to 12 weeks from the 6 weeks I used to see. omg what is going on?
-
Jesse
Filed 1/28 Accepted 1/30
Still Validating as of 3/14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

UPDATE:
Still no deposit!Accepted 2/8/19
Online it’s been on the “Validating” status since a couple days after.
By phone it says being processed as of this morning. -
Still no DD
So I read somewhere that if this is your first time filing in Missouri that you will receive a paper check instead of direct deposit. Does anyone know if this is true?
-
Still no DD
I still haven’t received my money.
-
Georgette
Wow. Seems I am not alone. It’s somehow nice to know this. It seems they are overwhelmed this year or something else is going on. Mine still validating and was accepted 1/28. I don’t know what happened to State of MO coz they always refunded me before federal. Now, they are delaying way past the said 6 weeks!
-
…..
Accepted1/28/19. Validatating online. Processing on the phone… Tried to call today no call back. Have emailed governors office 2 times… Still waiting.. What makes me mad is I had extra taken out so I would not owe…. So what is taking Missouri so long……. They suck
-
AT
Update.. I received my refund on 3/12 like stated WITH INTEREST! Good luck, y’all.

I haven’t updated anything on here in a couple of weeks…
STILL no state refund.
I filed and was accepted on 1/26.
I haven’t called them in a couple of weeks, I think I’ll call DoR again when they open this morning. Online still shows “validating.”
-
Jeremy Gillis
I filed 1/30 and my Missouri Refund is still “validating”. I have called and there was 60 people in queue. I email and they send auto responses. I don’t understand what the holdup is. Missouri usually sends my refund within a couple weeks but its going on 6 weeks now. So frustrating!
-
Lizzie
I decided to email the DOR in regards to the status of my DD and the response was that my refund was sent via check on 2/28. I selected direct deposit so I’m not sure why it was sent via check. Today is 3/11 and I still haven’t received a check (I live in GA so that may be the delay) BUT I also received notification today from the refund tracker site that my status has changed…. BACK to validating??? Before it said completed & was given a DD of 2/28 on the site and now its back to validating, but yet DOR said a check was sent out??…..So what’s really going on here is what I wanna know!!!!!
*UPDATE*
I was approved and given a direct deposit date of 2/28/19 and today is 3/5 and still nothing in my account…. How long does it take to drop into account?! Waited forever for a DDD and finally got one and now STILL WAITING..crazy!
*UPDATE*
I lived and worked temporarily in the state for about 5 months (Not sure if this has anything to do with the delay) But I filed 1/26 got approved 1/29 and STILL waiting.. it says I am in the “validating” stage…. How much longer will it take after validating stage?
-
…..
Accepted 1/28. Been valadating since Feb 2. Talked to DOR said everything was ok it was just busy… It’s been 43 days now and still nothing. I emailed the governers office again hoping for a real answer….
-
AT
Filed 1/22. Accepted 1/29. Started validating 2/2. Been stuck on validating since then. Received text message this morning stating my Missouri tax return status has changed, checked it and it has a refund issue date of March 12. We shall see if it comes tomorrow. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
-
Hannah
It’s been 39 days for me. Says in que to be sent to your bank and has for weeks. Grrr
-
Susan Jackson
Missouri state taxes accepted February 10, 2019, its been validating since then. Federal taxes were also accepted February 10, 2019 got federal refund February 27, 2019. What is going on this is ridiculous.
-
Mike
At this point, I have some serious doubts about the efficacy of the MO DOR.
I just received a correspondence from the DOR notifying me of their intent to offset my refund due to a debt from 2016 and thus my refund is further delayed.
The problem is that debt was already taken from my 2018 federal refund for the DOR. When I finally got through to someone via phone, the rude, curt representative told me “there’s nothing we can do about that” and kept repeating their “10-12 weeks for processing” mantra.
And the problem with “10-12 weeks for processing” is that state law dictates that refunds be paid within 45 days, or else interest accrues.
Know what that means? That means that the DOR will process refunds for corporations and high-income earners first, and sit on refunds of a few hundred dollars until it’s convenient.
Call your representatives folks, and let them know what you’re seeing.
Visit https://governor.mo.gov/contact-us or call (573) 751-3222 to register your concern with Gov. Parsons,
Visit https://www.auditor.mo.gov/aboutus/contact to request an audit of the DOR’s policies and procedures.

Waiting
Finally took the time to call them; wait time was about 20 minutes. They said that they are currently behind and that returns were taking anywhere from 10-12 weeks. I did ask if there was an offset or any issues with my return. She said everything looked good and they were just taking longer this year to process returns. Going into week 7, so I guess I just have to wait.
Just to add, I am military living outside MO filled NRI form with return. Not sure if they are taken longer to process those returns.
-
Sam
I would not have known about the offset. He said that they don’t tell you ahead of time – only after they take your refund.
It’s still crazy that this was for something 7.5 years ago and I was not sent letters. I’ll just get this amount owed paid off and not have to worry about this next year.
-
Roxy
@Sam
I’ve called constantly, I’ve emailed and let them know I’ve overpaid. I am Active Duty so they Tax the crap out of me during a Permanent Change of Station. My State of Legal Residence is Missouri…however I am stationed in North Carolina so my state tax is worded a bit differently. I still, till this day am NOT on the completed bar. I will be reaching out to them at DoR once again. -
Donna Polk
What is gping on with my return its been 5 weeks and nothing
-
Losing Patience
No offset. Taxes done by CPA. Still waiting since January.
-
Sam
I got ahold of the man at the DoR. Without him being able to fully confirm it, there’s a good chance something is wrong with your return if they are still validating. He could see my offset but was not going to tell me about it. Since I mentioned it, he could say something.
So it looks like I won’t get my refund after all. So it you’re like me, that is probably what is going on. He said those situations take much longer to go through. If your offset is less than your refund, you’ll get the difference but not anytime soon.
Just wanted to let you know… -
Sam
@ Roxy –
That is the same man that left me a voicemail and told me it would be 10-12 weeks because they were behind and busy.
Did you contact them several times or something? I wondering why yours was pushed through but others are not.
-
Roxy
I have an update from the Governors office, finally! Let’s see if it happens.
Mrs. ————-
I received your inquiry submitted to Governor Parson’s office. I would like to acknowledge that your refund has been pushed through and should be mailed this week.
Best regards,

I only work in mo i all ready recieved my federal back on February 6 but mo never moves off of validating its been 4 weaks now this is ridiculous
-
…..
What I wonder is if you are so swamped then how come people that filed 3 weeks after mine was accepted have already received their money….and I am still waiting 36 days
-
Sam
Well…
DoR called and left me a message today and said that they are swamped with returns and he was sorry but it will take 10-12 weeks.
3 months for a refund?! That’s just crazy. This has never happened to me. -
Nana
I lived and worked in Missouri for about 9 months as well. I was wondering if that had anything to do with it.
-
Lizzie
I was approved and given a direct deposit date of 2/28/19 and today is 3/5 and still nothing in my account…. How long does it take to drop into account?! Waited forever for a DDD and finally got one and now STILL WAITING..crazy!

So I did hear back from the Governor’s office and they forwarded my email to the DoR. That was Friday. I have yet to hear from our DoR though and my status still says validating. Today marks 39 days and counting…ridiculous. Mine is a smallish refund compared to some of you. I feel bad for those owed a lot of money and for all of us that are counting on that money to be there. We get a refund because we over-payed – so give us back our money PLEASE!
-
WoeMe
Still nothing
-
Megan
Checked this morning and mine is still validating but it was deposited into my bank account. Guess you cant rely on the online system. Just fyi for anyone else…..
-
Waiting
Still no change in mine. It states validating, we are also owed over 2k. I wonder why it’s taking this long. Haven’t received anything in the mail about this issue either.
-
Chrissy
Filed & accepted 2/8/19 been stuck on “validating” since the 9th. We’ve had no changes for several years & never had an issue until now! Federal was accepted the same day & received it 7 days later, first time this has ever happened. Don’t understand what the heck is going on!
-
Jesse
Still Neverending validating
-
Active duty
Still waiting as usual on my Missouri state return. It’s been 7 weeks and it’s been stuck in processing the entire time. They owe me over 2 grand. 2018 is the last year I ever pay that wretched state taxes.
-
Megan
@Really
I filed 1/18 and am still “Validating”. Grrrrr
-
Really
Six weeks to validate? Wtf?! What could they possibly have to validate that takes that long? Is someone going to come to my house? This seems really excessive.
-
Roxy
Yes, myself. I have been in queue since 6 Feb. I filed 25 Jan. Active Duty, here! MO taxed the crap out of me during my DITy move so I’m expecting a big check from them as well. MO is my SLR- so I don’t know if that makes them process it any different🤷🏻♀️ But yes I’ve been waiting as well. I’ve called numerous times they’ve told me it take 2-4 weeks to process once it’s in queue. I e emailed the governors office and they responded within 24 hours. Now they DoR is saying it takes 6-8 weeks. I’m just sitting and waiting as well.
-
Waiting
Active duty here living overseas and have not received my return. Accepted end of Jan, says still processing. Any other military having this issues?
-
Adam
Filed and accepted 1/30. It’s been switching neteeen validating and inqueue for a month. Today it says my return was adjusted. Ok about tired of this. Government is nothing but criminals looking to take our money.
-
Losing Patience
I filed January 26. Both accepted. I recieved federal refund Feb 5. Still validating for Missouri. I’m owed just under $1000 too so it’s frustrating.
-
WoeMe
I filed on 1/22, still no state tax refund. Please update as they come in. I would like to know if I need to be worried that something maybe wrong.
-
…..
@Sam
Mine is the exact same thing. I talk to someone who said mine was processing but it shouldn’t be more than 6-8 weeks. That was last week.. I was also told that we should be laid interest on anything over 45 days so it looks like they will be paying alot of intrest out this year. Mine was accepted 1/28, still valadating according to online, and I have already received my federal return…. So do please let us know if you find out more.. -
Sam
@Everyone –
So…
I emailed the Governor’s office this morning. Today marks 5 weeks since I have filed my tax return. This is the longest I’ve ever had to wait in the more than 20 years I’ve been doing my taxes. It just continues to say “Validating.” I have called the DoR 3 times and have received 3 different answers. The only thing that remains the same is being told to wait 10-12 weeks for processing. That is ridiculous since the law states to issue refunds within 45 days. Today is 35 days for me – and many of you I am guessing.
I will let you know what happens and if I get a response or not.
-
Roxy
I’ve been on “Processing your return” since 6 February. Every time I call I keep getting told “give it 2-4 weeks”. This is the longest I’ve ever had to wait for a Missouri return. I already received my Federal return and I do not have any offsets so I don’t know what’s taking so long. Missouri is my State of my Legal Residence; however I am Active Duty..and on orders here at Fort Bragg. Something isn’t right. I see other people who have filed after me getting their MO tax refunds, already. Hmmmmm 😏🤔
-
Jesse
My significant other still Validating. Filed 1/28 I think MO accepted 1/30 Federal refund last week.
-
Megan
I filed 1/25, accepted 1/28, still on “Validating”. Frustrating! Maybe since I work in MO but live in IL I am being punished, ha!
-
SF
@ Sam… no offsets, etc.
Was afraid to check today but like Angie H our refund was in our account today, too!
I really hope this give hope to a lot of people and that a large batch were finally processed and deposited so hopefully this kind of pattern continues. Good luck everyone! I know how stressful it is to wait on something that is rightfully owed to you.
-
Angie H
Just posting for informational update.
We filed January 27, accepted January 28; has been sitting in validating since. Finally yesterday received deposit date for today and just check…….WE GOT OUR REFUND!
so hopefully money is coming soon for all. -
Wendy Garner
Im still processing wow they take forever
-
Sam
@SF
Did you have any issues with you refund initially, like an offset? They said I had one but could not give me further info and then it disappeared since they turned their system off. Just wondering if you were in the same boat or different situation.
-
SF
Just checked the website and finally moved from validating to processed and completed with a DDD of 2/28/19. I did not receive an email nor a text with this change, however. Just thought to check the “Where’s My Return” this morning. Hoping it actually does deposit tomorrow. Will let everyone know for comparison purposes. I filed 1/28, was accepted by both Fed and Missouri on that date. DDD from Fed deposited last Friday. (We have never had our Fed before state)
Last year, our Missouri refund hit our account within 4 days from filing/being accepted. Hopefully their program will work more quickly next year if they have ironed the kinks out. Fingers crossed. (and that we’ll still get a refund at all…)
-
Del
Return accepted 01/3018. Went as far as validating and no change since. Called DoR 4 times to no avail of course. Sent a message to the Governor’s office yesterday and another today Feb 27th. No reply.
-
AT
@Sam
I emailed the governor, and his office forwarded my email to the DOR which in turn called me. I asked him if it was true about the 45 days and he said yes and told me that they actually changed and it was almost a 400% increase. We shall see. -
Sam
@AT-
Yes, the law states that the Dept of Rev has 45 days to pay your refund or they pay interest. However, the interest rate is very low—.01%. And they don’t have to pay until it reaches at least $1.00. So it’s really not a big deal to them to sit on refunds…especially smaller ones. BUT, if we are late paying THEM we pay 4% interest.
Just another way for our government to cheat it’s people. -
Mark Hallemeyer
Paid 12.99 through FreeTaxUsa to get my refund faster and all i see is someone getting richer and were still poor while they keep our money. When i called them i was told they never received mine but when i confronted her and said well your own web site says you received my taxes you just have been processesing then for over 3 weeks she put me on hold. When she came back on the line she said by law we have 8 weeks to process them then hung up on me. I think we should all demand a refund. Also go on there official Facebook page and start leaving comments about this and bet we get our money we worked for.
-
Sam
So everyone,
I made a call today to the Dept. of Revenue. Initially, it said I had an offset and then changed status and has been stuck on validating.
The woman told me that the new offset system was having problems recognizing offsets so they turned the whole system off. Now they are trying to fix that system. So, my refund shows pending – which could be taken for an offset – or it could not be taken – or part of it could be taken. I will not know until they fix the system and turn it back on. I have never even received an INTENT TO OFFSET letter. If they do offset me this year (for an overpayment that happened 7.5 years ago – and have not gotten letters about), they will send an offset notice at that time. AND in 7 years, I’ve been getting my state refunds with no issues. Why now? And why not warn me that this COULD HAPPEN. And to be honest, I forgot all about the overpayment since I wasn’t getting letters about it.
So it’s a waiting game. I had also sent out an email today as well so I’ll see if I get a response to that as well.
-
I see a lot of you still complaining – – and understandably so, but did you do as I suggested and email the Governor’s office?
I emailed them, they responded within 24 hours, forwarded my message to someone competent at the DoR, and instead of spewing that “6-10 weeks” BS they told me what I needed to do, and now my bars went from Validating to I’ll be getting my money within a few days.
Swallow your pride and take care of your business, because if you don’t you’ll be sitting at the bottom of the pile with everyone else and pushed to the backburner probably right until before the 45-day mark.
-
Adam
Still waiting. Filed 1/30 and accepted same day. Bars change from validating to in queue. I never get a date.
-
AT
39 days since I filed, 27 days since I was accepted, 23 days validating. And no answers for any of it. But they have 45 days and then they have to pay you interest. Federal is set for a DDD of 2/27. This is all frustrating, but I know it’ll come eventually. Hang in there y’all!
-
…..
Still valadating day what 26 I think maybe 27……. I wish I just knew ANYTHING
-
…..
@ Sam- exact same thing happened to me and still no answers and no refund… So Im still waiting
-
Sam
To AT and Angel-
I think we’re in the same situation and it’s confusing. I filed my taxes on 1/25. MO accepted on 1/28. It went thru all 4 bars and said my refund was intercepted. When I called they didn’t see anything about an offset. On Feb 7 I got a text saying my status changed and now it’s on bar 2-validating my return. It no longer says anything about an offset. I called Dept of Revenue and the first woman I talked to said I’d get my refund. The next one said it could still be taken if there’s an offset. I’ve never even received a letter about this. My status has been stuck on validating for 17 days now. Have you guys gotten any answers yet…or your refunds??
-
Helena
Just fyi they are doing a massive software update. That is what I was told.
-
Donna Polk
My state taxes have never been this long i keep checking and its checking info already got federal back at the beginning of February why so long
-
Desirea M Pruitt
Just called the number below and was told if I E-filed it could take 10-12 weeks after filing but 4-6 weeks if mailed. This does not make any sense. E-filing is done to get return faster.
-
Erin Clifford
My missouri tax refund shows issued on 2/6/2019 but I have yet to receive this payment. Can this issue be looked into please?
-
Mike
Hey folks,
If you’re still having issues with the MO DoR and your refund, I encourage you to contact the Governor’s office via e-mail or phone.
Last year, MO was caught holding individual tax refunds to pay other debts. Who knows what they’re up to this year.
Visit https://governor.mo.gov/contact-us or call (573) 751-3222 to register your concern.
-
I finally got a response from the gov’s office. They forwarded my information to the DOR and the person replied back and said – – – (drumroll please) that my Missouri returns weren’t signed therefore they couldn’t be processed.
Why couldn’t they just tell me that within the first 3 times that I called? :-\
So, anyone who has been waiting longer than 2 weeks to get processed, I suggest you sign your returns, scan it, and email it to [email protected] just to be on the safe side.
-
Keisha
This is getting ridiculous accepted 24 days ago getting federal tomorrow no a peep from Missouri still validating
-
unpatiently waiting
Wendy Garner
It doesn’t take long. I had mine the next morning after that message. I used Chime.
-
Wendy Garner
Got a text last night that my status has changed called this morn and they told me refund pending hope it dont take to long
-
Roxy
Is there a tax account transcript that we can access through Missouri ? The way that the IRS has it set up?
-
jerry w. smith
Getting tired of this crap. Return accepted jan.28th still processing. My daughter filed and got refund a week later.
-
Jesse
Well my s/o got her Federal on Chime yesterday but Missouri still validating. Filed 1/28 EITC/ACTC/Education credit PATH then 2/22 DDD paid on Chime 2/19 afternoon but still NO MISSOURI!
Way to go Missouri!
-
Richard
Still 2nd bar. Over 3 weeks, will have my federal before state. Missouri is no help, don’t waste your time calling
-
Roxy
@ Ashley 8-11 am
-
Roxy
@ Ashley
: try this number (573) 751-2578 I called and let them know I was inquiring about my individual tax. It took them 2 mins to get me in the phone with an actual human being. Promise, that’s a real number. They only answer from 8-11 though
-
What is going on with people having a DDD and not getting the money deposited into their accounts – – sometimes for even weeks at a time?
I give up.
-
Ashley
Dept of revenue site says sent to my bank 2/13 still not in account and not pending after speaking to my bank and numerous supervisors I have also contacted the dept of revenue by email. Anyone know how to actually speak to a live person? Everything seems to be automated and no way to get a live operator.
-
JoJo
I have a small offset. Is it true that they will mail me a check instead of DD due to the offset?
-
Tiffany
Mo state is in que, any clue after that when its deposited?
-
Monica
Me again.
Still no state refund.
Filed 1/26. Tax prep shows it was accepted 1/26.
Revenue still shows validating online.I called the Dept of Revenue this morning and was told that since they got a new system this year, they’re still trying to work out all the kinks of it and it’s just a matter of waiting for it to be processed and released.
-
Amber Dittmer
Ron, that happened to me also but then I realized I was putting my federal refund amount in on states website now my status on state is back to 2 blue bars. ‘ filed 2/29 accepted 2/29 processing 2/29 still the same old thing!!**:##!!
-
Ron Waters
Says my Missouri taxes were accepted on Jan 28th, but when I check their website says cannot find any information.. anyone else having this issue? Turbo tax says it was accepted but Missouri is saying they never received it..
-
Amber Dittmer
I don’t think they do that by last name because my last name is Dittmer I still haven’t received mine. I wish they did.
-
Amber Dittmer
Has anybody set up direct deposit and then they say they’re going to mail you a check by a certain date and have you received the check before the certain date that they gave you?
-
Roxy
This is a pretty random question….but do you think they go in alphabetical order? My last name begins with a C …for anyone who’s already revived theirs…what does your last name begin with?? Just curious
-
Crys
I guess they used my refund to pay for my tax prep fees.
-
Amber Dittmer
Check the status again and now it’s saying a check will be mailed out on the 26th when I signed up for electronic deposits so I don’t know what’s going on least I’m getting it it back at some point in my life. Filed 2/29 accepted on 2/29 processing on 2/29
-
Angel
My return changed from processed (me owing and them taking the refund)back to validating. What could this mean?🤔
-
Still waiting
Still says sent in the 6th and still no money . How long does it take to get a direct deposit
-
Keisha
Same I’m getting my Federal on 2/22 as well but can’t get any answers out of missouri
-
Jesse
Well my s/o filed 1/28 with EITC/ACTC/Education and the Federal updated this morning for 2/22 but Missouri still just validating! That’s crazy.
-
…..
Has been processing since 1/28…. Still processing….. No one can give you any answers …..
-
Adam
Still in queue. I have lived in Missouri 20 years now and have never been this frustrated. This is ridiculous. They have had my return since 1/30.
-
Roxy
I wonder if they’re holding it if we have EITC & ACTC as well…like the Federal. This is just crazy. I’ve filed since the 25th; got accepted and it’s been processing since the 28th. This is ridiculous. Both systems MO state & Federal have been unavailable all day today.
-
Amber Dittmer
Check my refund status again and once again bars went Gray and the service is unavailable again this is the third time this is getting me quite cranky! Filed on the 29th accepted on the 29th and processing since the 29th….
-
Amber Dittmer
Checked mine again today and it went to no bars again but does say we are processing your return I never seem the system say that so maybe that’s good.” Lets hope!!!! This is day 18
-
Hmmm…..

-
Amber Dittmer
Still waiting 17 days later
-
Richard
So, I took Jason’s advice and contacted the governors office via email. They responded that I needed to contact DOR and they would forward my email to the director, and I should receive a timely response.
Haha, missouri is all kinds if messed up this yearMy girlfriend owned $13, they had her accepted, processed and complete in 48 hrs. I am owed $600 and its been over 2 weeks playing the waiting game.
Ridiculous, I know not to have additional money withheld this year. -
Michelle
My refund status for Missouri said it was refunded on2/13/19 and it is still not in my account. Has anyone else had this issue?
-
Monica
I don’t even care anymore 😂 Federal will slide in long before state will. To heck with you, Missouri Dept of Revenue. I guess I’ll see my money sometime in the next 8-10 weeks ((hopefully!))!!! 😠😩
-
Penny
Still validating
-
I just sent a scathing email to the Dep. of Revenue after getting off ANOTHER phone call with ZERO answers. At this point I think we should all rally and call or email Governor Parson.
Whoever this may concern,
I have called, sent emails, and nobody seems to know any answers other than “it will take up to 10-12 weeks for processing” or “there is a glitch in the system.”
I am at my wits end because I am a taxpaying citizen disabled veteran and I keep getting the runaround…but if I OWED money, I am pretty sure you would want your money without any excuses. Plus, I sent Taylor Hollingsworth an email 3 days ago asking a simple question and haven’t gotten a response, when I know it takes less than 2 minutes to respond to a basic question about my account.
So at this point, I will need a direct email to my State Governor Parson so that I can write a letter, or a telephone number will do. If I don’t get a response to this email, I have no issue with driving from St. Louis to personally speak with him or his representative.
– – –
I went through the exact same thing year with jumping through hoops for monies that are owed to me, and this year it is worse: you claimed there was a “glitch” in your system and my taxes were never received when I electronically submitted them January 28…and I never would have known they weren’t received had I not took the initiative to call. However, my aunt and grandmother used the EXACT software I used and we all filed on the same day and theirs went through without a hitch.
So yes, I need to get in contact with Gov. Parson. I am disabled and on a fixed income…if I weren’t in dire straits I wouldn’t be so adamant about this.
-
Keisha
Has anyone that has called got any real answers other then it’ll be 10-12 weeks
-
Adam
Anyone have the number to call to talk to these idiots? This is taking way too long.
-
Michael Shipley
accepted 01/22/2019 site says validating, got email moved to next step 11/2 weeks ago but never moved. Son got his after 2 weeks with site saying processing..What a joke!
-
Adam
Got an email that the status changed. Logged in and still in queue. Nothing but a tease.
-
Monica
Another day-
Filed 1/26, accepted 1/29.
Today is day 16, STILL validating.
I’m callin’ ‘em up today when they open their office. This is crappp. 💩
-
Russell Hunter
accepted on Jan 28th still on validating first time filing in Missouri. Dont know what is taking so long. Recieved Federal 10 days ago.
-
Hmmm…..
Mine has been accepted since 1/28.. I will have an offset this year for a whole $56.00 I owe so I am guessing that is why mine is taking so long now…. They owe me a whole lot more than $56 so they need to get on it already… It has been 16 days since they accepted mine and haven’t herd a thing, I know a bunch of people at my job got theirs and they filed a week after I did…. Never had this problem before and not the first time I owed them…. They really need to get it togather😕
-
Kelly-Belly
Filed February 6, 2019
Accepted: February 9th, 2019
I was validated and processed by the 10th of February. I have a DDD for February 14, 2019. Hang on ladies and gents.
Happy Valentine’s Day Lovebirds ❤

Mines went from recieved to validating straight to complete no release date. Called last friday the guy told me it was in process to be sent. Checked a few days later for a date and guess what guys… Back to validating!! Only good thing is if they take longer then 45 days you get paid intrrst i guess. Federal might come first im thinking its a sad situation when normally you get your money in a week..

Check the status of my return again and it went back to Blue bars to validating ‘yay I’m so excited that we made it this far already’ come on already get your shit together!! Filed on the 29th February accepted 29th of February validating ever since it would go gray bars to validating it went to gray bars again this morning and when I just checked again it went back to validating. seriously?
-
AT
But their system to take our taxes out of every paycheck wasn’t glitching, that’s for sure😂
-
Alicia
My refund is still validating as well. I called this morning and asked if there was something I needed to send in because I’ve never waited this long. I was told because of a glitch in the system last November that processing is slower and they need a little more time.
-
Holly
Got mine 2/13/2019
-
Adam
Filed 1/30 accepted 1/30 been in queue since 2/3. This is ridiculous. Federal was less than a week from file to direct deposit.
-
Monica
@Ashley B.
Back to validating. 🤦🏼♀️
-
Suzy b
Well my state was not on hold last year so I don’t know why mines still Validating
-
Monica
@AT
Mine is all gray again. It doesn’t say anything at all. It’s all blank. 🤦🏼♀️
-
Amber Dittmer
Filed on January 29th accepted January 29th since then it was validating then a week later I checked and the bars all went gray, then a day after I checked and it went back on the second Blue Bar since then it’s been validating again this morning at 7:52 I got a text message saying the status has changed please log on when I logged on it all turned gray again so I’m not sure what’s going on hopefully they processed my return it’s been so long playing the waiting game.
-
AT
@Monica,
From what I gather, Yes. That is why we are still validating. -
Monica
@AT / @Dorothy —
So if we had an offset last year, they’re holding ours? Mine was offset last year due to student loans but they’re paid off now. This is why I haven’t received mine yet? ☹️
-
AT
@Dorothy
Yep, that’s what I heard too! -
Dorothy
AT – yes. They said those that had one last year are all on holds until their offset system updates & it’s been glitchy so we won’t be released until that updates. Supposedly this week or next. Smh.

I posted this morning about receiving my refund today. I just want to add that I never received a email or text after it switch to processing. The site updated but no other communication after that. Maybe I will get at text tomorrow since it is the actual DDD but I already received the funds.
-
Dennis
Mine says refund issued 2/5/2019 and still no dd using h and r block card
-
AT
Just out of curiosity. Anyone stuck on processing….did you have an offset on your tax return last year through the state of MO?
-
Starting to get very MAD
I am just beyond frustrated…. For real how long does it take to process my refund…. It has been almost 2 weeks and I did direct deposit…. 😕 #missouriwheresourmoney

Ugh Missouri…. I had 2 blue checks for 2 weeks.. now all my bars are gray and it has no information. It’s blank. 🙄
-
Roxy
Every year when I was owed about 13-18 dollars I’ve received it within 6-7 days. Now that it’s moved up higher (since they taxed the crap out of me for PCS season) and moved from 2 to 3 digits…MO wants to take its time…sheesh! They taxed me in about 2.5 seconds of my DITY move…OCONUS…but want to take their time on giving me a return when it’s well over 500.- something I’ve never seen since I usually receive only 13-18 dollars in State Return. Somethings fishy 🤦🏻♀️
I filed on the 25th
Accepted on the 28th
Been in the queue for about 13 days…no updates, since.Let’s get it together Missouri, you are the “Show Me State”…so come on & “Show ME” 😂
Thank you for all those updating in their status! Gives me a little bit of hope.
-
Monica
“This service is unavailable.”
Again.
Lord help, I’m about to have a come to Jesus meetin’ with some people. 😂

Has anyone received deposits yet without the site changing? I know this is a new thing this year, as far the website they are using. It’s different than before. Just curious, really tired of waiting…. Maybe I should call JG Wentworth. JK LOL
-
AE1985
I went from processing to direct deposit for the 13th in the matter of 2 hours today. Check state status throughout the day! It changed quick for me. Best of luck all!
-
Holly
I email the state and they told me its set to be dd on 2/13 so next year i am just havin a check sent
-
Keisha
Still validating filed 1/29 accepted next day been validating since 2/1 or 2/2 with 4 emails of a status change but nothing has changed
-
B. B.
This is absolute nonsense.
Everyone I know filed a week or so after me and has gotten their money within a week.
All I get is it can take 10 to 12 weeks.
It’s been approved since the 7th. Really?
No issue date posted and the lady on phone just says “It’s different for everyone ”
Be great If I can have my money to pay my bills. -
Got an email this morning that my return reached a new step. Logged in and it still says validating!! Come on Missouri!!!
-
JoJo
This is ridiculous!! I went from being having 4 checked boxes, to an offset, back to validating was originally excepted on the 1/28. Beyond annoyed….
-
Monica
Still validating online. Called Dept of Revenue. They told me the same thing they’re telling everyone else. “We’re advising everyone to please allow 10-12 weeks.”
I’m done. 🤦🏼♀️ My federal will probably deposit before state does.
-
Penny
Yup I’m done 🤦♀️
-
Richard
Accepted on 2/2, got the same text as everybody else that their was a change. Yet it’s still on validating. Seems we are all having the same issue.
Girlfriend had hers accepted 1/30, she owes $13, they had her finalized in 24hrs. Why can’t the have mine ready in 7 days?
Wish Missouri would get there sh*t together. -
Dorothy
Tina – Same thing happened to me. When I called I was told that was a glitch from last year. Smh.
-
AT
Still validating. I give up. 🙄
-
Tina
What the heck is going on in the state of Missouri..?? First the website said my state refund was being intercepted then I got a text saying my status changed and now it says validatating and has been that for days now….Getting frustrated with this mess
-
Holly
I have been in queue for 8 days now and mine was accepted n the 28th
-
Josh N
Filed 1/31 and accepted the same day. Keep getting text saying theres an update but its still on validating and has been since it was accepted on 1/31. Anyone else having the same issues?

-
Holly
I have a question will they also hold your state if you claim the child tax credit cause mine was accepted on the 28th and its been in queue to be sent for 7 days now
-
My (Hellish) Tax Journal: (con’t)
Checked the system 2/9/19 and I am now validating.
Its moving along smoothly now that I sent all my documents in.
-
Cathy G
Filed on the 25th , accepted on 29th. Validating a week. This is absolutely ridiculous. 30 yrs filing taxes and never waited over 7 days. 3 yrs ago they started Path act screwing with Federal. Now state of Missouri screwing with us. I made the mistake of holding extra out on state this year and they decide to hold it all the sudden.
-
AT – I just checked the MO Dept of Revenue Facebook page and apparently there are job openings for tax processors…I’m tempted to apply just so I can push my stuff through.
So maybe the reason for all the lollygagging is lack of employees – – – but that ain’t our problem.
If we end up owing money they’ll be on our backs day and night, so I want them to keep that same energy when it comes to OUR money.
-
AT
Christina,
I’m a non-resident too, and last year from the time we filed to the time we received our money via check(because we had an offset) was 8 days. I filed on 1/22 accepted 1/29 started processing 2/2. It never takes this long. Ever. It’s BS. -
AT
Wow, Jason. That’s insane. I filed 1/22 and still want accept 1/28 so I called h&r because MO said they had to record of my return. HR told me they were going to create a ticket and escalate it because it had been more than 3 days. So the next day(the 29th) I get a text saying my MO taxes had been accepted. When I called yesterday, she told me taxes finally started processing on 2/2. I don’t know what is going on in the Show Me State, but the only thing I’m SEEING is a disorganized system that isn’t properly working. And when you call, you get the generic 10-12 weeks answer. It’s all a bunch of crap.
-
My (Hellish) Tax Journal:
I filed 1/27, was accepted 1/28 through Turbo Tax so I got electronic submission saying that both Federal + State was pushed through.
However, I just received my Federal return a few days ago but whenever I checked the website for my State it kept saying that they had NO record of receiving my State return.
I figured enough was enough and decided to call. (573-751-3505)
I spoke with an agent and she clarified that my return was indeed NOT received due to a “glitch” in their systems. (Keep in mind, my aunt and grandmother’s went through without a hitch and we all filed the SAME day using the SAME software.)Pfft.
I scanned all my files, and emailed them to [email protected] checked the website today and *viola* guess who’s taxes were finally received.
…the exact same thing happened last year. Missouri is a trip. I guess I have to wait 8-10 weeks to receive my money if they don’t require anything else from me.
What a joke.
-
AT
I just want my money 😭😂
-
Christina
My DD was two days ago. Still no money. Does anyone know if takes longer for non residents.
-
Monica
My state was accepted Jan. 29th. It shows online it’s still in validation. 🤷🏼♀️☹️
-
Cathy G
Penny, they telling everyone that bullshit. I will never have extra taken out of my check for state again since they don’t want to pay it back. So frustrated.
-
Keisha
Anyone else call and get told it could be 10 to 12 weeks from the start of this month to get your refund thats longer then I’m gonna be waiting on my Federal
-
Penny
I’m about to give up on missouri, my federal is about to slide in before them, never did I think that was possible lol
-
helena
HOw long did everyones stay in queue before getting direct deposit. I was accepted on 29th
-
Keisha
Still stinking validating 😡
-
Cathy G
Back at validating. Longest I have ever waited for state
-
Suzy b
It’s back and running and still the continue of validating I can’t believe this I’m walking path with my state lol 😂😂😂
-
Suzy b

-
Kristin
The site is back up guys. I have a DD date now.
-
Stephanie
@Keisha The site hasn’t been workinv for me today either.
-
Crys
I went from having a deposit date to getting a text saying there has been a change. When I looked it up, there was no info. I’m so confused.
-
Cathy G
Mine still.showing system down right now
-
Keisha
@stephanie is the site working for you right now? Is it showing validating today
-
Stephanie
Mine has been validating for over 3 weeks. Has anyone received their property tax credit refund (circuit breaker)?
-
Cathy G
Still down. Sure hope I wake up to money.
-
Keisha
They need to get it back up
-
Roxy
I was in the queue and now it’s all unavailable. Really annoying and frustrating
-
Roxy
Anyone at all get their deposit today?
-
Amber Dittmer
filed on the 29th accepted on the 29th processing on the 29th check today and it’s all gray and says system is currently unavailable? WTF
-
Suzy b
Mines went all grey to saying unavailable hoping we all update to some great news I’ll come and check around 5
-
AT
I called and the person told me that mine started processing on 2/2(I filed on 1/22) and then proceeded to tell me it’ll be 10-12 weeks from 2/2. 🙄 BS.
-
AT
Unavailable for me as well. This is ridiculous 😂
-
Cathy G
Service unavailable. Never waited this long. Filed on 25th accepted on 28th and validating ever since. The other day when it was unavailable and came back up and people had a DDD
Pray that is us! -

Mine also went all gray saying service is currently unavailable…. what the heck is going on this year! I’ve always received mine the week following me filing !
-
Penny
It’s doing the same for me it’s unavailable I’ve gotten it on feb 8th or 9th of every year. Here’s to hoping! Ugh 😑
-
Keisha
Oh man now mine is all grey again had been validating since the day after it was accepted wth is going on
-
Amber Dittmer
When checking Missouri checks website it it was accepted and it was in the middle of processing and now when I checked it it’s telling me the service is currently unavailable. Please try again later what’s that mean? is it a sign? is it really the system? should I be worried? Thanks
-
TC
I was in the queue for several days, checked this morning, and now it went back a step… Did this happen to anyone else? Filed nearly 2 weeks ago.
-
Suzy b
I just wish I was instead of still validating
I was in Q for ddd let me know something goodness I feel like I’m walking the path with my state this year lol -
Cathy G
I got a text Monday my status changed. Then an email Tuesday my status changed and I was one step closer. Still sitting on validating and no dd date or money.
-
Richard
Awesome, sure does Lynn.
Thanks. -
Richard, No they do not hold for those credits. That’s what happened Monday to alot of people, then their deposits were in their account the next day. The new system is glitchy. Mine never showed accepted on MO site, and my refund was deposited yesterday. I filed Jan 28th. Hope this helps!
-
AT
I’m still validating. Day 9…🙄
-
Roxy
I’m still in the queue as well. It’s really annoying. I filed with TT on the 25th and it was accepted on the 28th. In the past few years I’ve gotten it within 6 days. This is the longest 🤷🏻♀️
-
Kristin
Ok… back in the queue. 🤷♀️
-
Kristin
Mine was in the queue. Now it went back a step. I was wondering the same thing @richard
-
Richard
Got a message my State was updated, went to site and no change.
Do they hold for the EIC and CTC for state also?
Seems alot of people are getting them back quick. -
Crys
I had a DD of yesterday and still no deposit. Still waiting…
-
Kristin
So after it is in queue, is the next step getting a DD date?
-
Cathy G
Haha right @ AT. Maybe we will get a 3rd text today for another step closer. Lol
-
Amanda
I have a DDD of the yesterday and its still not there,. Any ideas of what happened? I use a MoneyNetwork card thro my employer (Ford). I wonder if it didnt deposit and they will send a paper check. How long does that take?
-
Suzy b
Who else is sick of same screen showing its validating ready to see DDD
-
JoJo
So i called and the offset is for a textbook from college so I will lose a small chuck of my refund. They said it would take a little more time fro me to get the rest of my refund. Anyone with an offset and a DDD?
-
Mallorie
Yesterday mine refund said it would be deposited today. Now it says “The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you,” but it hasn’t been deposited in our account. Has anyone else experienced this? My sisters said the same thing yesterday and she got hers today.
-
Corey
Obi will be upset about that! They should definitely tell you that upfront if that’s the case.
-
Heather
Corey, it may be possible that they took your state for fees and if you got the emerald advance. We were supposed to recieve our state on the 5Th, no deposit, so we called and they said they take whichsver you recieve first (state/federal) and apply it to your fees.
-
AT
@Cathy
At least we are stuck in validation hell, together! 😂 -
Cathy G
Still validating…smh
-
AT
I’m STILL validating. This is annoying. LOL
-
Corey
Nothing yet…
-
Cathy G
@ Keisha I got the same email this morning but site still shows validating return. I also got s text yesterday saying status changed as well. Starting to aggravate me.
-
Keisha, I filed the 28th with TT. I was accepted within minutes for state and federal. When I went to state of Missouri site it kept saying they havent received mine at all, i just checked my card this morning and it was deposited at 3am, so I wouldn’t pay to much attention to the site info, just watch your bank, or card for deposit. Good luck!!
-
Dorothy
@Keisha – Yes, a text at 8 AM. On Friday I couldn’t track it at all. Saturday it said it was being intercepted. Call yesterday (Monday) and the lady said she doesn’t know where I see that because that is not true at all because that was for 2017 and I’m still pending to be finalized. This morning I got a text that said “The status of your 2018 Missouri tax return has changed” and provided me with a link to log in. The tracker still shows it was intercepted. I was accepted on 1/29. :(
-
Keisha
Got an email this morning that I’m a step closer but nothing change on the tracker site anyone else have this happen
-
Corey
Have been checking, still nothing. Hoping before 5
-
Cory, others had a DDD of today, so maybe it will post this afternoon. I would check your card, that’s what I did and it was there, I wasn’t even showing accepted on Missouri site. It’s glitchy, it will be there before you know it😉
-
Corey
Yes
-
Cory was it going onto an Emerald card or what
-
Corey
DDD of today, Missouri said it had been transmitted, H&R Block says they haven’t received it. I’m lost
-
Cathy G
-
AT
Google “missouri where’s my refund” It’s not letting me post the link.
-
Jessica Murray. It never worked for me either. I just happened to check my TT card this morning and it had been deposited
-
Jessica Murray
The website doesn’t even work for me. How are you all getting it to work?
-
Penny
mine has been stuck in validating since friday, hopefully I get a noon update today
-
Cathy G
I just got an email mine is one step closer and check the site. Nothing changed. Still on validating
-
Still check your accounts guys, mine wasn’t even showing received and I got my deposit this morning
-
AT
Still stuck on validating🙄
-
Suzyb just keep checking. I wasn’t even showing accepted or processing on Missouri site and mine was in there at 3am this morning
-
Suzyb

-
Xandiya
Deposit this morning!
-
Deposit was on my turbotax card at 3am this morning!!. I didn’t get any notification, nor was I even showing accepted on the missouri website. Now if only federal would be like that lol. Good luck everyone!!.
-
Xandiya
TT prepaid folks, when did your deposit come in on DDD?
-
Xandiya
Sorry on Missouri site
-
@BH, Gotcha!! Thanks. Guess im still waiting for mine. At least i received my TT card today and that’s what it will deposit to
-
AT
I got the text message too, and when I checked it still says validating. I just rechecked, and it’s STILL validating lol
-
Jas
Mine now said refund issue date 2/5/19 does that mean it’ll be direct deposted? Or are they mailing them out?
-
Xandiya is that showing on the Missouri site?, your bank or where?
-
Xandiya
I have a DDD of tomorrow!
-
BH sorry lol
-
BY, I meant to send my last message to you
-
Was this after you got the text message?. Mine is supposed to go on my turbo card, but I haven’t gotten a text or anything. I filed and was accepted on the 28th
-
BH
Just checked again and have a DDD for tomorrow, 2/5 🙌🏻🙌🏻
-
Harold
Yes I believe I opted for dd….I finished my federal and it was accepted 1/16 then I waited for the forms and finished my state 1/28…now don’t know if my federal will be mailed also…im using the TT card
-
Xandiya
This is the message I’m getting on their website now.
“This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”
Maybe they are updating or sending out deposits?
-
Cathy G
Jaz
Same thing happened to me. But status did not change -
Harold, why did they say that? Isn’t yours supposed to be dd?
-
Harold
I called them back and they said it will be mailed so does anyone know how long that will take?
-
Nothing my way yet, mine will be going on my TT card as well. Maybe it’s a test, since they were redoing their system. Hopefully something later today maybe??
-
Xandiya
Anyone gotten a deposit?
-
Harold
Got a text mssg alert…have a ddd of Feb 4 still nothing on TT prepaid card
-
BH
Same thing just happened to me. I got an email and went to check and I’m still in queue with no DDD.
-
Penny
@Jas
Same just happened to me. I filed on 1/28 and was validating since Friday. I was hoping it would have moved by now but it hasn’t.
-
Jas
Does anyone know why I would get a txt alert saying my status has changed but when I go onto the website to see if it’s changes there’s no difference from yesterday.
-
BH
Thanks Lynn! I was also accepted 1/28 and showed no progress until Friday overnight and all of a sudden I was in the queue. Their new system is all messed up. And I’m not sure if they do updates on the weekends so that could be why I’m still in queue. I’m not real sure.
-
Xandiya
Mine is still showing in the queue…🤬
-
BH, I filed my taxes, and a friend’s same day, back to back. Mine is still showing not received. Even after being accepted according to TT the 28th. Anyways my friends sat in queue for 2 days. Hope this helps
-
BH
Does anyone know how long you sit in the queue for?
-
Xandiya
@Tara Mine still says it’s in the queue. Does yours say completed?
-
Jo-jo let me know what you find out. That’s weird
-
Tara, it might depend on your banking institution. I always have mine sent to my TT prepaid. I always have it the date of issue by noon. I would check later today after they open
-
Tara
My refund says issue date of Feb. 4,2019, but it is still not in my account this morning. Does anyone know what time it hits your account? Or what does issue date mean?
-
I’m locked out for 3 days as of yesterday. Weird cuz I’ve only checked it 3 times. And when I did it was just once per day. Shouldn’t be locked out for that!!
-
Xandiya
What time did people have their refunds?
-
JoJo
Now mine is showing an offset. However I have no idea what this offset is. All of our student loans are in good standing so I’m lost!!!!
-
Jo-jo has yours shown anything yet? Mine is still saying not received. I filed with TT on the 28th, accepted by state and federal within minutes
-
Suzy b
It say can take up to 6 week validating return but some people got there’s already I guess this is something they have to say
-
BH
I think it updates over night every night.
-
Katie
When does the system update? My says it’s in queue.
-
Xandiya
Mine says in queue to be sent as well! Hopefully soon!
-
AT
I just checked again, and mine now says validating! Yay for movement!
-
BH
Mine now says it’s in the queue to be sent! So it went from nothing to that in a matter of hours. So I’m hoping for Monday or Tuesday. 🙏🏻
-
Suzy b
Is anyone else’s showing validating return my show received with check mark then another check mark say validating return but processing as 3rd and complete as 4th in grey is this normal
-
AT
Just checked the Missouri refund site, and it finally has it as recieved!
-
AT
Thanks @Leah00
-
BH
I called today and the lady I spoke with said hers is also not showing up as accepted. She said to check again Monday, with the new system they are working out the kinks. I’m wondering if they are just not popping up but they are actualky being processed and everyone’s money will just hit randomly. I’m not real sure though, just a thought.
-
Leah00
@AT
I really wouldn’t worry too much. The person I called told me the same thing. I also sent an email and asked and that person told me that she didn’t see my refund and to check back in a few weeks. I got it 2 days later.
-
AT
Oh, and she also told me it could be 10 weeks.
-
AT
I called yesterday, she told me she can see it as accepted on the 22nd but it hasn’t been processed yet. 🙄 and I’m still locked out of the system.
-
Xandiya
I’m still locked out even though the information was correct. 🤦
-
Xandiya
@BH it still isn’t showing mine either and it was accepted early morning Monday. 🤷
-
BH
Turbo Tax says MO return was accepted Monday night. It still isn’t in the MO system when I check. Anyone else??
-
Leah00
@Cathy G
It wasn’t set up but it has been back up and running for several days now.
I got mine yesterday. -
Cathy G
I called this morning she said what are you using to check that? I said MO where’s my refund? She said that doesn’t work and it is not set up for this year? Has anyone received a refund yet?
-
pat
mine said they were sending 1/30 still do not see in my account
-
AT
I’m also locked out of the system. It’s so glitchy!
-
JoJo
@Just bob Mine is saying the same as well. I did however check it with mine and my husbands SSN. IDK….
-
Suzy b
Filed on Jan 16 it say on the Missouri refund status thingy that it’s validating return and could take 6 weeks but there is people who filed after me saying they got there money is this normal validating return anyone else get this
-
Leah00
Last year I got it on a Monday and this year a Wednesday, so I don’t think so.
-
Xandiya
Does Missouri only issue refunds on a specific day of the week? I
-
Leah00
I filed and was accepted on Friday (1/25).
-
Just bob
Jojo
Same here except mine says I’m locked out for 3 days for too many attempts. I only checked it once. Idk
-
Xandiya
Leah00 When did you file?

Refund is in my account this morning! Good luck to everyone waiting!

@Missouri Man
Congrats! :)
-
Missouri Man
Leah, I just got the same message. thank goodness. This is why I file early. So many people that do this later in Feb, Mar, and April have had stories of super long waits. I have never had it myself and I don’t want to be one of them either.
-
Leah00
Good news!!
I just checked and mine says it’s been completed with an issue date of 1/30. :)
-

Just received notice that my Mo taxes were accepted. :)
-
Leah00
@Tres
It’s the MO dept of revenue site. I just checked it again and it’s still working for me.
-
Tres
I just tried to check mine and it said the website was still being worked on. My return was accepted Friday. Is there another site for MO I should be looking?
-
Leah00
Mine says it’s been verified and is in the queue to be sent. Hopefully that means it’ll be here soon.
I can’t remember if the state refunds only come on certain days or if it could come in any day. ?
-
Leah00
@Missouri Man
Yay!!

Missouri Man
Missouri State inqury system is up and running now. finally. you can now check online
-

I called, they told me they have not received it yet.
-
Missouri Man
mine was accepted on the 17th at the state.
-
Leah00
@AT and Missouri Man
Have your returns been accepted or are you still pending?
-
Leah00
@Missouri Man
That’s awesome that you got it so quickly the previous years. From the reading I’ve been doing, it seems like the reason Missouri has been changing things is because so many people were waiting a long time for their refunds. I used to always get my state refund a week or two AFTER I got my federal. Last year was the first year that I got it fast and I was shocked. I filed on Wednesday and had it in my account Monday morning.
The DOR person I spoke with this morning said that it would probably take a little longer than that this year but they are getting them out. So fingers crossed that it won’t be much longer!
-
Missouri Man
Please let us know. In the past 14 years I have always got it in 2 weeks or less. Usually 8 days. I am at day 13 now.
-
Leah00
Let me know what they tell you. :)
-
AT
Thanks, Leah.
I guess I am going to call and see. -
Leah00
I went ahead and called the number and spoke with someone at the DOR. She told me that refunds might take a little longer than last year (I got mine very quick last year) but that they are going out and it won’t be after tax season. She said that they are advised to say that it could take 10-12 weeks but that’s what they’re advised to say every year.
She was able to look mine up and say that it’s been received and is processing. -
AT
Filed 1/22 and I’m still pending. My Federal was accepted on 1/23.
-
Leah00
I was accepted today so we’ll see. If they wait longer than 45 days they have to pay you interest.
-
Missouri Man
Sorry won’t be by the end of January. I have talked to the Missouri DOR. They are redoing everything and stated the wait will be quite long, even for people who file early. They told me 10-12 weeks. Putting that into perspective, they won’t issue any tax refunds until the conclusion of tax season. As soon as the media gets that information and puts it out… People are going to go crazy.
-
Leah00
Filed today with TT. Last year my MO refund came before the end of January and I’m really hoping the same thing happens this year.
-
Just bob
Mo resident form not available until 1/25 per TT. Just waiting on that.
-
Missouri Man
So Missouri’s online checking system for tax refunds is still down. It has been down for 3 months. I called yesterday and they said tax return processing can take 10-12 weeks! That is crazy as it usually is a 7 day process for early filers in the big MO. There better be fixing things and not seeing huge delays in Missouri this early in the tax season… otherwise it will be a HUGE nightmare for everyone.
-
Anonymous
Filed in mid February, DOR requested all attachments be snail mailed that were originally e-filed. Then back and forth with DOR. And, since it’s an “adjustment” back to the original refund amount…I finally received a check in the mail yesterday. An “adjustment” like this results in a mailed check even if it’s equal to the original filing refund amount. When checking the status online last week, I saw that a notice was being sent (dated seven days out). The notice was the adjustment notice and a check. Finally, it’s over for this year.

Mine said in the queue… where does the deposit date show
-
Dawn
I am also wondering what is going on, my issue date was 05/10/2018, and still not deposited into our account, and it is really ticking me off. We do not even live in Missouri, but unfortunately my husband worked in Missouri and had to pay Missouri taxes while working there, needless to say, that will not happen again! This is flat out ridiculous!
-
Elaine
How long did you have to wait after your DDD for the money to be deposited. My date was May 10, 2018 and it did not get deposited yesterday or today.
-
Elaine
I got a Direct Deposit Date of May 10, 2018 but bank still has not received anything as of May 11, 2018. Are these DDD true? How long after the DDD did other people wait to get the refund? My other MO refund for Mom going to same account had the same DDD of May 10, 2018 and hers was deposited on time but mine was not.
-
Anonymous
I originally filed in mid February, and MO DOR needed me to resubmit all the documents by secure email. This year it’s been worse than others. I’m going to roll with budget cuts slowing everything down. No money in state general funds, no refund either until funds available.
-
kelly
they received my documents april 10th and i just got the update to my status yesterday . i had sent my taxes at the end of january and then they said they needed my itemized documents ( which were sent originally). faxed the documents and it was excepted April 10th… weeks late.. its now updated saying i am owed a refund and its in the queue to be sent. however long will that be?? and why was missouri so awful to deal with this year?
-
Anonymous
Nope, still waiting in “queue” since April 13th.
-

anyone get their tax return back after this update? and how long after did it take:
The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. You have overpaid and are due a refund. If your refund is adjusted, you will receive a notice from the Department that explains the adjustment. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.
-

Filed on 2/14/18; w-2 was not legible so I faxed copy after receiving letter from MO on 2/27/18…..it’s been over 8 weeks more and now says in queue to issue refund for weeks. It’s been 10 weeks total now and looks like it’s going to be even longer!
-
Kathie
Mine has been showing that it was approved for a refund and is in queue to be sent – this has been the status now for 3 weeks.
-
traveljess
My status has now checked to a scheduled refund date. Fingers crossed.

How long should it take from “your refund is in queue to be paid” to actually getting paid?

After 5 weeks of validating, a proposed changed was sent. Missouri DOR has a habit of losing my MO-NRI form when I electronically submit. After calling DOR, they wanted my fed 1040, MO 1040, W2s, and MO-NRI form resubmitted by emial, fax, or snail mail. This is the second time in three years this has happened. Nice lady on the phone says their firewall often blocks “attachments” when efiling with TurboTax or other programs. Well, time to fix this problem Missouri! Why am I encouraged by DOR to efile if they’re incompetent idiots and block incoming forms other than the MO 1040? And now the waiting game to starts over.

Have not received mine yet either and mine says issued 2/6/18. Just sent an email to try and get an answer.

Filed on 01/28/18. After weeks of “validating” my refund was supposed to be “issued” on 03/05/18. Still nothing via DD or Mail. Automated system only says my refund was sent to be issued on March 5th, the automated email reply states the processing can take 3-4 weeks. The phone system doesn’t want to do anything until 30 days AFTER the issue date. I’ve NEVER waited this long before.
-
Tammy
Status finally changed after 6 weeks however all it says now is that I’ve overpaid and my refund is in queue to be sent. Ughhhhh how long now for this part? This is insane
-

I have been stuck at “The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. You have overpaid and are due a refund. If your refund is adjusted, you will receive a notice from the Department that explains the adjustment. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.” for over a week now.
Anybody else been stuck here?
How long till a DD date? -

after validating for about 7 weeks… missouri kicked my refund back for a proposed change. i went from +$717 to them saying i OWE -$230. im not sure how this is possible since i used turbo tax. i itemized federal and they changed my state to standard making me owe… is that possbile?
-
Jason
Maybe “validating” is a way for the state to hold onto our refund until enough state funds are available to process the return. For the past several years, Missouri has been late in refunding tax returns because of a lack of money available in the state general funds. After 45 days, Missouri is to pay interest on top of the refund amount but the state can take as long as needed to pay refunds. I am due a refund of $1,700 and wonder if there’s a threshold when “validating” kicks in?
-
Tammy
Efiled and was accepted on 2/6 took about a week for them to acknowledge it was received and accepted. My status has read “validating” ever since. It’s now 5 weeks and I called dor today and clerk looked me up and said there were no issues with my return and no letters have been sent out but it is still in processing and that I should expect another 2 to 4 weeks before I should expect my refund. This is an outrage and according to law it’s supposed to take no longer than 45 days to release your money back to you. I have done some research and these delays are intentional to cover shortfalls in the Missouri budget. 3 years ago I filed late but before I could even file the state suspended my professional license and almost cost me my job. After I filed that late return the state owed me a refund of 1100 dollars and they suspended me for a debt THEY OWED me. Unbelievable! Now they are using our money for stuff that it’s not intended for. It should be criminally prosecutable and anyone involved fired. After all it’s grand theft which is a felony and they would prosecute any one or all of us if the shoe was on the other foot. Call in complain to Jeff city and Washington this is bs

I filed Feb 10 ; less than a week later it says I’m due a refund and ready to be sent out. As of March 2 ; I have not received my refund.

I live in TN and for some reason to through KS. I called a couple of days ago cause I file IS (injured spouse) agent said has been closed since 2/9 bit I have no DD and when I check wmr I get code 1541 saying there’s a delay. So looks like KS moving slow as molasses as usual. Hoping to see something Friday but who knows. Usually wmr doesn’t change but money deposited.
-

I was told the reason for the extended validating status is due to earned income credit, but I don’t have that so I have no clue why there is such a delay

I’ve filed my 2017 return on Jan. 29th & was accepted & received on Jan. 30th 2018. I set my refund up to be direct deposited. I know some friends who’s gotten theirs, but still no answer to when I will receive mine.
When I check the web it shows ” Validating. ” I recently called the office & the clerk stated I don’t owe anyone nor any notices has been sent out to me. I’ve never waited this long to receive my Mo. State Tax return.
Does anyone know what’s taking so long? Because it’s been over 4 weeks.

Justina, I’ve been submitting my state return for refunds as NRI (non-resident income) for six years. I live and work overseas as a federal employee (thus not foreign income) and it’s never been fast for my refund but I’ve never seen “validating” when checking the status. Maybe it’s a new SOP for NRI refunds?
-
Justina
Submitted my tax refund on the 2nd of February. Got my federal taxes back on the 21st, but my Missouri has been saying validating this whole time. I never got my federal back before my state before.
I thought maybe I did something wrong because this is our first year filing while being stationed outside of Missouri, but it looks like other people have it happening as well. I hope its just something random and I didn’t mess anything up. Sigh.

@motaxpayer My federal and state were submitted 2/16, federal processed on 2/23, federal deposited on 2/24. State still shows validating since 2/18.

My refund status also shows validating. This is new for me, as I’ve been filing for years with Missouri. Does everyone go from received to validating to processing? Or, certain filers given validating status?

My refund has been in queue for 2 1/2 weeks now. Anyone else have an luck with this happening and finally getting a DDD?

Has anyone received their refund on the issue date? Mine was supposed to be 2/14, but nothing so far.
-

I filed on 2/12.
My return was accepted on 2/13.
The Missouri website lists a direct deposit date of 2/16.I think that’s cool since I had investment income and a corrected W2. I thought those factors might hold it up, but they didn’t.
-

MOgal – same happened to me. But if you call in over the phone to listen to your refund status it says refund issued on this date – but could take up to 30 days to receive. I feel that is the way they are getting out of paying penalties stating well your “refund issue date was this day” even thou it took 30 days to hit our bank account.
-
My state taxes were filed and accepted 1/30/18. Checked site and it said issued 2/6/18. As of 2/9/18 No deposit. I guess I’ll look in the mail now since others have gotten theirs that way.

Heather
@ConfusedinMidwest I called the state and they said that they are not currently showing an offset and I’m still showing on their side to get the whole refund back. They also said processing could take 6-8 weeks. UGH!!!! I’m hoping I have it next week!

My MO was e-filed on 2/7 it was received on 2/8 accepted and approved on 2/8. Refund Issue Date is 2/9. Is that the day they release the funds or what because I did not receive it in my bank account on 2/9 (today). Does anyone know how long after the issued refund date it takes for you to actually receive it.?
-

I recieved a letter stating there was an offset

Got my refund as a check today in the mail. Guess they really are sending them as checks despite me requesting DD. Ah well now I have it so all is well. Hope everyone else gets sorted!

I read back through this post and I saw someone last year said that if it’s your first year filing for MO that they will send a check instead of DD. So now I’m checking my mail.

I called Missouri, and where I filed my taxes and they took my state refund to cover the filing fees since it came in first they just didn’t update they received it, and applied it to my fees . But Missouri did send it and told me to wait up until 5 days and if I didn’t recieve it or a check to call them back.

Missouri state tax refund status shows “validating your return” The information reported on your return, such as income, deductions, and payments is being verified for accuracy. The validation process generally requires six weeks from the date your return was received.
I don’t get it, what exactly do they need to validate?

I was due to receive my Missouri state refund today, it never made it to my turbo debit card, so I called the revue to see if something was wrong and was informed I was mailed out a check . Just checked status and this shows:
“The Department has verified the accuracy of your return. You have overpaid and are due a refund. If your refund is adjusted, you will receive a notice from the Department that explains the adjustment. Your refund is currently in queue to be sent to you.”
Is this a bad thing??

My return is showing:
“The information reported on your return, such as income, deductions, and payments is being verified for accuracy. This validation process generally requires six weeks from the date your return was received.”What does this mean? Am I in trouble?

@carrie bushman, that actually looks like yours is in queue for a deposit date and was pulled for audit. Yours might be part of the group that is being held and will gain interest. I hate when they do that, but more than likely that’s what happened. I would call and talk to them and find out why you don’t have a deposit date.

Also thank you very much for your help. I was starting to worry. It is good to know there are still helpful people out there.

The possibility of getting a mailed check is real, I just checked the copy of my paperwork and where there is a place on the federal return for a bank account number there is none on the state return. I only live about 25 miles north of Jefferson City.
BTW that is what happened as I was typing this message the doorbell rang it was the mail carrier with a couple of packages and my mail. There was my refund check with my mail.
-
@john, someone else mentioned in the new Missouri forum that I created, that they called and MO told them that they mailed them a check vs. direct depositing it even though DD was requested on her tax forms.
Even if you moved from Washington in August, you should still have a refund coming from MO if you worked between then and the time the fiscal year ended.
-
John
WA State has no income tax only sales tax.
-
John
Used HR Block, and since I just moved to Missouri From Washington State in August with and all of our children in their 30s I don’t think there should be any offsets.
-
@john, who did you file with? Did you have an offset by chance?
-
I love TaxAct. I just got a text from the bank they use (Republic Bank & Trust) that says this:
Your State tax refund has been sent to your account and should be available within 1 to 5 days!
I just checked their website and sure enough, it’s there.
https://www.republictaxpayer.com/ – If you use TaxAct. Looks like they took the fee from my State this year vs. Federal.
-
John
That was from the State of Missouri Website.
-
Tiffany
@john, was your date given to you by the company you filed with, or by MO dept. of revenue?
-
John
Your tax return has been processed. Refund issue date: 01/29/2018. and Nothing in my bank account. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the refund?
-
Those of you who already received a DDD of the 30th or 31st, have any of you received your deposit? I expect at least a 24 hour waiting period on these deposit dates to allow for bank processing, however, if those on the 30th haven’t received their deposits, it can be one of two things:
An offset OR
Something is wrong -

First off, i called the provided # on the form the IRS form ( which is the only number that you can call and talk to a real person which is !!!OBSESSED!!! with NOT DOING THEIR JOB, BEING EXTREMELY RUDE, THEN FINALLY ARGUING WITH ME BEFORE I WAS HUNG UP ON.?.?.?
but that was only after i had “verified” my identity, which was the reason given for the hold up in first place.( by the way these SCUM OF SHIT-MOUTH WHORES THE IRS IS FARMING OUT THESE CUSTOMER SERVICE JOBS ARE MAINLY LOCATED IN AND ALL AROUND IRAN, & IRAQ. Who are the leaders in identity theft so it of course makes all logical sense to put them in a position where hard working and poorly paid SLAVES AKA AMERICAN CITIZENS are given no choice but to answer all their verification questions( basically handing them all info required to hack into and steal not only our accounts but our homes and life.
All do to OUR GOVERNMENT being huge, lazy, and UNLOYAL to us all. -

My return was accepted on April 1st. When I go to check the status of my return, the MDOR return inquiry system says “Your return has been processed and accepted as filed.” Nothing else. What does that mean? Today is June 29th and I still have no information on my refund. Of course no one will answer the phone in Jeff City, I keep getting redirected to the automated system which says the same thing. I even double checked the routing and account number on my return to make sure I hadn’t somehow messed it up. I surely would have noticed the additional money in my account if it had been paid, but double and triple checked all the same. What gives?
-
John Haley
My taxes were filed on April 6th and accepted April 7th. I received my refund today June 22nd – 11 weeks later to the day. There was no communication (not surprised).
MO Dept of Revenue’s own form states:
http://dor.mo.gov/forms/3097.pdf
Interest on Overpayments
“You will receive interest from the Department on any
overpayment of the individual income tax due for a filing
period if the Department does not refund to you the amount
overpaid within 45 days of the date you file your return.”Per MO statute the DoR owes interest on that amount but did not include it in the refund for 32 days. The MO Dept of Revenue by state law is required to provide interest.
I see a class action lawsuit coming.

My return was accepted April 14, 2017. I am still waiting on my refund. The message never changes that they are “processing” as of today June 21st. . I have sent 2 emails with no response. This is absolutely ridiculous! Almost 10 weeks. Nothing like holding onto our money for their benefit. I don’t even know how they can get away with this!
-

Filed April 18, received an email from turbo tax April 24 that my return was accepted by Missouri. As of today June 20 I still get a message saying my return is being processed and to allow additional time – 9 weeks and counting since I filed ….. I don’t care about the interest I just want my money!
-

I filed April 12th this year. Two months I have been waiting. I wonder how much revenue Missouri is making off our delayed tax returns.
Manipulative to say the least.
Just submitted MO W4 married with 5 dependents, so they won’t get another dime from me until April 15th!!! -

Missouri finally update refund status. Filed April 15 today says your return has been processed. Issue date 6/13 I hope I’ll see some interest too (over 45 days)
-

I filed my 2016 Missouri State Return on 4/6/2017. Website still says processing. Allow additional time. I did see that if it takes over 45 days, then interest is to be added. But man, what is the hold up?! I received my Federal return over a month ago!
-
Bob
Filed MO 4/15/17 and still waiting on 6/6/17. Website says “processing” and “allow additional time.” Had Fed refund weeks ago.

Update: Called MODOR today and they told me my check would be mailed out tomorrow for my 2014 tax return.
-
Kristie
I sent in my 2016 return on April 18th and was told it didn’t begin processing until 4/24. I received a status update today that says the department proposed changes to my return because i claimed the wrong number of dependents.. and I should be receiving a letter in the mail dated 5/31…..so my 2016 took approx. 4 weeks
Now my 2014 and 2015 I sent in on March 28th. They began processing 2014 on April 10th and 2015 on April 6th. I am not sure how that happened when they were sent at the same time. So now my 2015 is completed processing but not my 2014 and that is the one I am looking for as my 2016 Federal was off set to pay the 2014 balance. The rep says she sees where my refund for 2014 is $XXXXX, but says it hasn’t completed processing…..How can that be? How can they see that I have a refund due if it isn’t completed processing?

Per the Taxpayer bill of rights:
Interest on Overpayments
You will receive interest from the Department on any
overpayment of the individual income tax due for a filing
period if the Department does not refund to you the amount
overpaid within 45 days of the date you file your return. You will
receive interest on any overpayment of corporation income or
corporation franchise tax due for a filing period if the Department
does not refund to you the amount overpaid within 120 days
of the date you file your return, the original due date, or the
extended due date, whichever is later.http://dor.mo.gov/forms/3097.pdf
At this point it has now been 46 days since I filed

My tax return was accepted on 3/21/17. The DOR website still states “your return is being processed, please allow additional time”. I sent an email on 5/2/17 and received a response on 5/6. The email stated that they are still processing my return and during this heavy processing period their processing time is at 10-12 weeks!!!! The part I love the best “thank you for your continued patience” :-( I thought I would let everyone else know that it will be 10-12 weeks for you to get your return if you filed anytime in March.

My state return was accepted on 3/17/17 and website has said that it is being processed for the last month. I’m planning on going to my grandsons graduation in a couple weeks and was planning on my refund to help with expenses, never thought it would take this long. I paid in the money through the year without a problem and would really appreciate getting my return pretty soon. Thank you. Old cranky retired veteran.

I filed federal and MO together and both were accepted on 02/05/17. My fiancee filed federal and MO and both were accepted on 02/12/17 We both received federal return via direct deposit on 02/21/17.
I’ve been checking the dor.mo.gov website since February and getting the following response.
Results
Your return has been processed and accepted as filed.I’ve also been checking my fiancee’s status and getting the following response.
Your return has been received but not processed. The system is updated nightly. Please allow 24 hours before checking the status of your return.
I wrote the following email to [email protected] on 03/13/17.
I received my federal return via direct deposit 12 days after I filed and I have been checking the status of my Missouri return since February and all it says is that it has been accepted as filed. Is there a backlog for returns? I have not been able to find any answers to my question on the website, nor from any other sources. Thank you.
Got this reply via secured message on 03/16/17.
Sir,
Thank you for the email. At this time, you should allow six to eight weeks processing time for your refund to be issued.
Dana Bernskoetter
Missouri Department of RevenueThen when I went online to check the status of my fiancee’s return on 03/30/17 I got this message.
Results
The department is proposing changes to your return. You will receive a Notice of Proposed Changes dated, 03/27/2017, explaining the adjustments. Please wait until you receive this notice before contacting the department. The Notice arrived in the mail on 03/30/17 along with a paper check for the adjusted amount, which was way less than what we had expected.
Bottom line is, it’s a big waiting game!!!!

Mine was showing”received but not processed but changed to “processed and accepted as filed” and has been like that since 3/21/17.
Does anyone know what that means? -

@Khaz – it took a few days to receive a response. I will also say that after ALL these shenanigans, I still have yet to see the return. NOW it saws that all or part of our refund was intercepted (basically to pay off something) but I am not sure what it is paying off or why. I called the federal offset line and neither me or my hubby have any owed debts. A friend of mine said that old utility bills are being taken by KS & MO from the refund checks, but we live in KS (my hubby just works in MO) so I am not sure what they are taking and why. It says we should’ve received a letter but it changed to that status on Friday and we haven’t received any letter yet.
-
Missouri received my return February 9th. Website has continually shown “Your tax return has been received; but not processed.”.
This morning I sent an email to: [email protected]
Within 2 hours I received the following:
“Thank you for contacting the Missouri Department of Revenue.
According to our records, the Department received your 2016 Missouri return on February 09, 2017. However, with the rise in identity theft and fraudulent returns, the Department must take additional precautions to protect Missouri taxpayers. We are reviewing more returns to ensure fraudulently claimed refunds are not issued. I apologize for the delay. The average processing time is 8-10 weeks; please allow additional time for processing.”.
As someone who actually had my identity stolen last year I provided my IRS issued PIN number and MO Drivers license along with my returns this year. It’s disheartening to learn that such measures seem to be disregarded and all returns held up in the name of “security”. Someone earlier suggested it was a sham to allow MO to keep the money longer (and earn interest on it). I’m starting to believe it. Grrrr.

@ Nalani – can you tell me how long it took for you to receive a response when emailing MO DOR? I was told I would receive a confirmation email of the documentation I submitted, however, I still have not. Thanks!

Most of my MO friends haven’t received their refund yet. I know that our situation is that my hubby works in MO and we live in KS. But for that matter – we still haven’t rcvd our KS back either. I also know how the military situation goes too. I used to work for the DOD and once had to pay Virginia, Missouri and Kansas for 2 tax years because I went to VA to work for 8 months and the 8 months spanned into the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012. Now that was brutal.
I still haven’t received my actual refund but my status has changed to “processing”
-
Just got off the phone with MO DOR, and because we’re military we have to wait 8-10 weeks for our refund. Can see a home of record change in the near future…Missouri is trying to delay and avoid paying these refunds. Everyone I know who is not from Missouri has received their state refund. They offer no real explanation, just further verification???

STATUS UPDATE:
I e-filed 1/28/17, return was accepted by MO within just a couple of days, do not recall exact date.
Status on the online refund form stated my return had “been received, pending processing”, until 3/1/17, at which point it changed to “the department is proposing changes to your return. You will receive a letter dated 3/8/17 explaining the changes; please do not contact the Department until you’ve received this letter”. So, I receive the letter Friday, 3/10/17. Letter indicates the proposed changes are as follows (I work in KS, live in MO): “your resident credit is changes to zero”, and ” your MO tax withheld is changed to zero”. I, like most people likely would, assumed my employer failed to file the proper documentation (especially considering this has been an issue with my employer over the last couple of years, but that’s a whole different story). So, I go in to work this morning, ready to bite heads off in the HR Dept. I am provided proof of my w-2 filing with the state, which occurred mid January. After several attempts (being disconnected from the customer service line MULTIPLE times), and over an hour wait, I finally am connected with a real live person (they DO exist!). I inquired as to why I was being required to prove such information when both the IRS and the state of KS had received the appropriate information from my employer, and issued refunds accordingly with no issue. Did you not receive confirmation? “Oh, we did, but the processing department just wants to confirm the w-2 YOU used to file your information is the same as what your employer filed”. What?!? (Can you not tell by the fact that I claimed the EXACT SAME MONETARY FIGURES!?) So, now, I have to provide ALL documentation to prove where I received my figures in completing my tax return, DESPITE the fact that they admitted to receiving the proper documentation from my employer. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I believe the MO DOR is short on funds to pay out refunds, and are playing games to delay having to pay out. I was told that after submitting documentation proving where I received the info I used to file my return; (which, again, I reiterate they have had for a month and a half!) it would be ANOTHER 6-8 weeks before my refund would be processed. I am so beyond frustrated. I am literally left speechless; I have NO WORDS for the level of frustration I am at with the MO DOR at this point. -
Nalani
@Mom – I emailed the DOR email that was on their website. I sent a second email making sure that the email was intended for me, considering it was addressed to someone else, and she confirmed it was for me and misaddressed. She told me that the website would update “tomorrow” which was Saturday 03/11/2016 but since it was not a federal working day – it didn’t update until this morning to “Processing”
@Chuck – I was told on 03/10/2017 that my status would update, but due to the weekend it didn’t update until today. -
Filed and accepted: 2/3
Status online: since 2/3, received but not processed (as of 03/10)
03/10: have not received any verification forms
Last year (2016) DOR sent form needing to authenticate identify (within 15 days, or they were going to keep the refund)
Retuned documents to provide identity via certified mail, and faxed.
Received 2015 tax year refund extremely delayed, but received.Limited amount of information available for tax yer 2016 and delayed refunds:
Assuming from this forum due to identity theft.Emailed DOR on Wed., (email on their site): politely inquired that if the delay is again due to verifications, that I went through the same process last year. Why is it needed again, especially since I have so many tax related form that are unique to my tax situation. It is impossible for identity theft in my situation, with MO taxes.
Response received same day stating, “Thank you for contacting the Missouri Department of Revenue.
I have processed your 2016 return and your refund will be processed as normal.
I apologize for the delays on your 2016 Missouri return.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact the Department. As of today, 3/11, the status online still states, “received, not processed”
So….it’s a blow off, as the system ismiodate every 24 hours.
Historically, MO refunds were very predictable. The last 3 years, the delays, and tactics used are not up to par with past years, as well, greiten, our new governor is doing everything possible to drain MO of all funds. I am disappointed in the way the state is mismanaged my money, basically boils down to the millions in interest they continue to accrue while our money sits in efile limbo.Solution: following the guidelines of w4 federal and state deductions, changing the w4 withholding is the only logical decision. If we were to owe mo tax, we would pay interest, as well payment demanded. Taking back control of my money. If you owe no federal,or state taxes: you can claim exempt (check the publications on modor and IRS sites. If you can not claim exempt, charge your deduction should on your w4s, aiming for minimal pay witholdings to state and federal It will mean you have more take home pay. You can set aside money you will owe (if any) for 2017 tax year. Avoid exile fees and the headache from this unnecessary stress.
You never know when the refunds (of your cash) will dry up by the powers that be. New administration in all areas of government are Republican.
In 2018, snail mail your returns, and if any tax is due—make it in small incremental payments.

Just called the DOR at 8:30 am Hawaii time and they told me that processing is now taking 6-8 weeks and even longer for military. But my return is being processed. The representative stated that once income tax returns are received, they automatically start processing.
So since my return was accepted on 12 February, I am expecting the refund before 12 April.
-
@Nalani… do you have the address you emailed by chance?
-
Nalani
UPDATE (Kind of). I emailed the MO DOR last week and I received an email back BUT the problem was, the email was not addressed to me. It had a different person’s name. I am hoping that the individual had completed my return and was just using a template to send out emails and forgot to change the name.
But here is what it said…
“Thank you for contacting the Missouri Department of Revenue in regards to your 2016 Missouri tax return.
The Department is currently experiencing the peak of tax season. We continue to process returns as they are received and process refunds accordingly. I have gone ahead and processed your tax return. Please allow up to 4-6 weeks to receive your refund”

@ Momof3blondies – see a few posts below. E-filed 1/28, stays read “received but not processed” until 3:1, at which point it changed to “the depart is proposing changes to your return”. Never did my status state they needed additional time.
With the lack of information out there this year, I am wondering if it’s possibly a budget issue – perhaps they do not have the funds to pay out all the refunds and are waiting to receive payments from those that owe. Who knows! What I do know, is this is becoming more and more frustrating as the days pass!
-
@Khaz…. did your status say “have received but need additional time for processing?” When did you file if you don’t mind me asking
-
Nalani
I haven’t heard anything – you seem further than I am in this process.
My timeline:
02/15 – Filed
2/16 – Accepted and status “received, but not processed”
2/24 – Rcvd ltr to verify identity
2/25 – Completed/Passed Quiz online and quiz states “your refund will now resume processing”**AS OF TODAY** My status online STILL SAYS
“received, but not processed”I have tried to google, read blogs, or get updates however I can. I haven’t had much luck finding any information on why it’s taking so long. Some of my FB friends are going through the same thing but nobody seems to know why.
As mentioned previously – my cousin and his gf both filed same day (2/5) and he got his check in the mail 2/13 and she STILL hasn’t received anything, not even a letter asking her to verify her identity.
I watch this blog every few days to see if anyone has new info.
-
Khaz
@ Momof3blondies – I have called the automated phone line as well a couple of times, 573-526-8299. I’m fairly certain the end of the message stated processing time would be approximately 6-8 weeks. I tried calling again to be certain, however, since my status has changed from processing, it no longer provides me with the timeline information.
-
Has anyone heard, read or been told how long it’s taking the State of MO to process refunds? I filed 2/21 and started checking their website last Thursday. I have been checking every other day and mine stills says that my return is being processed but they need additional time. Technically if I go by H&R they said should be received by the 13th but I already received Federal.
-
Khaz
So, I e-filed on 1/28/17. Per MO DOR, status showed it was received, but not yet processed until last Wednesday (finally!), 3/1. Now it is reflecting the following status: Results
The department is proposing changes to your return. You will receive a Notice of Proposed Changes dated, 03/08/2017, explaining the adjustments. Please wait until you receive this notice before contacting the department.Has anyone else received this status? I reviewed and re-reviewed my return several times prior to filing and I cannot for the life of me come up with anything I input incorrectly. I wasn’t aware that they went through and recalculated individual returns prior to issuing refunds?? Perhaps this is new and what is taking them so long this year?
Just curious if anyone else has experienced this, and what the outcome was. I am hoping it is simply the ID verification quiz, but doesn’t quite sound like that is the case.

My state tax was received on February 12, 2017. Still saying that the income tax report has been received but not yet processed. The backlog must be ridiculous!
So I am expecting my refund in April….
-
Has anyone talked to the Dept of Revenue and if so, what did they say? In years past Federal and State went hand in hand basically but not this year. Just wondering what kind of excuses people are being told.
-
Nalani
Yes.. this is ridiculous. I still have nothing except “received, but not processed” even after filling out the quiz last week (or the week before). My cousins gf still has nothing either, she hasn’t even received a letter. They must be WAY behind.

I filled and accepted 2/10. Got federal like a week later. Mo still says received but not processed. I did enter dl I did not have eic or the other one….still waiting and missouri is so bad about providing any information as to processing time. So nice..but when you owe them…you better pay on time or early or be penalized ou t the wazoo…
-
Has anyone received there MO refund without their website updating and giving you a direct deposit date?
-
Jerrie Mason
My missouri return was accepted on 1/26/2017 and my message on Where is My Refund for Missouri has stated for over a week now that it is being processed but they need additional time. Prior to that it read received, but not processed. It remained in that status for 30 days before switching to the other message above. I hope it really is’t going to take 30 days to advance to processed/paid! And we did enter our driver’s license numbers through taxact on our returns. Nor did we file for earned income credit or the child credit because we make too much. So I don’t understand the hold up either.
-
Did everyone who is waiting on refund enter their drivers license number? How about the ones that got a letter in the mail to verify, did you enter your drivers license when you submitted your return?
-
Armywife
Hi Everyone,
We filled and was received 1-24-17 It still says it is recieved but not yet processed.

I hope yours does too! I got my verification letter on the first, or I finished it on the 6th can’t remember. Just saw the date it was mailed out. But I’m still waiting. Just today I went to check and all of a sudden it says “our system doesn’t indicate a refund has been received.” I’m on the phone now. 30th in line and wait time is 169 minutes. Lucky I’m off today. I’ll update afterward. This is ridiculous. I paid estimated taxes for my LLC so this is even worse for me.

@steve (UPDATE) I got home on Friday and checked my mailbox… and sure as the sky is blue… I had a letter in the mail from Missouri Revenue Dept stating I had to confirm my identity. I had to take a random quiz online and it was less than 1 minute and then it said
“You Passed. Your refund will resume processing… there’s nothing further requred from you”
So I hope that is true and they finish it TODAY!

Filed and accepted my state and federal on 1/23/2017. I received federal within a week, but still waiting for state refund. I contacted Internal Revenue Service and received a response saying it takes 4-6 weeks to process state refunds. On week 5 so we will see. I have always received my state refund before federal and usually within a week of filing, so I’m not sure why it’s so late this year. The IRS website says its been received, which was confirmed, and processing.
-

@Steve
I know my cousin didn’t have to verify his identity. I don’t believe they have requested it from his gf either (I’m sure she would’ve mentioned that when I asked).
I haven’t received any letters from the state wanting to verify my or my husbands identity BUT I will say that he did correct the spelling of his name this year, on his BC, and that has been causing slight issues with other stuff but since his W2’s and all of that are in his correct name – I don’t see why that would hold it up.
-
STEVE

Did any of them.have to verify their identity? I did. Wondering if that pushes the timetable back farther now. Seems like average is 7 weeks waiting. -

April, by state transfer fee, do you mean direct deposit? There is no fee from MO to direct deposit your refund. I saw in a few posts below someone else also was having issues receiving their refund on their Emerald Card. This could possible be an HR Block issue since it is their product. Are you certain the routing/account number were input correctly?
-
April
I have filed my Federal and State taxes. Missouri states the Refund Issued Date is 1/27/2017. This refund was to be deposited to my Emerald Card. But it is still not there. I double checked my documents but there is no state transfer fee, so I am wondering if the state is not sending a check. But then again, so makes me wonder where is my check then?
-

Wondering if anyone has actually received their 2016 refund as of yet from MO? Trying to get an idea of processing time. I filed and return was accepted 1/28/17. MODOR website still showing my return has been received but not yet processed. It is difficult to find any information regarding estimated time lines from the MODOR. I saw somewhere it’s possibly 6-10 weeks this year, but unable to confirm. Any direction to factual info would be greatly appreciated!

Filed in EARLY MARCH. No status change until end of May, when I received a letter that they never received my W2s, which is nonsense. Regardless, my accountant re-sent the W2s on June 1. It is still showing Proposed Changes and there is no way to get a real person on the phone. I agree with the others this is a stalling tactic so they don’t have to pay me my 6k refund. I guarantee that if I owed them money they would have processed my return months ago.
Shame on you Missouri Dept of Revenue. -
CC
Unbelievable! I filed end of March, received by the state first week in April. June 1st I get a note that they have made an amendment to my return and that I will get a letter in the mail. The amendment states that I owe the state $33k+ because I am missing a W2 form. This is a big difference compared to the $13k the state owes me due to overpayment. My return was filed with the appropriate W2 and the state gets a W2copy direct from my employer. Now they say I need to wait another 8-10 weeks for my refund. This is an overall ploy not pay taxpayers what is rightfully theirs in a reasonable amount of time.
-
W.S. Blevins
For those of you who are frustrated because of your overpayment of taxes being kept by the state, pay close attention. IT’S GOING TO GET WORSE. Start now by significantly decreasing or eliminating your state income tax withholding. It’s better to owe at the end of the year than to let them use your money all year long. Remember exactly how long it takes to receive your refund this year. When you do file your taxes, attach a note advising the state that processing their payment due will take precisely the same amount of time that it takes to receive your refund this year. If everyone does this, it will send a very strong message.
-
Demetrius
This is the most recent info about the delays that I’ve found. 8-10 weeks because of frauds
-
Saddness
The refund amount has been approved, but no due date is being given. So basically. they are just holding on to my money ….. just because.. SMH
-
Amy
Efile accepted by MO on 4/20. Still no refund. Six weeks in. I agree with filing a class action lawsuit. When you owe the state, they file a case in the Courts…then you get stuck with the tax fees and the court costs. But when they delay what they owe you, there’s no penalty. As citizens, we should take it to Court and force them to eat the Court costs while paying what we earned, plus interest.
-
Tina
I filed on 4/10/16. I’m receiving the same blah, blah, blah “still processing”. Federal refund came in within 2 weeks and I filed at the same time from my H&R Block program. How can Federal get through these so quickly and Missouri be so far behind?
-
ET II
Filed electronically 4/8/16 (someone in the CPA’s office dropped the ball and filed later than normal).
State still shows “received, not processed.” Same issue last year–it took so long to hear back, then the state made an error.Seems the state takes way too long for electronic filers, and yet very few news stories as to why so many delays?? You would think some reporters would get on it. Has anyone heard from their state representatives?
I wonder if those who do not use electronic filing are waiting over two months?
-
mike
We should start a class action lawsuit against Missouri for pulling this.

Filed 3/23/16. Still have not received my refund. This is ridiculous. I didn’t have an issue last year. This year is just been horribly drawn out.

MO state return accepted via turbotax 4/8, still waiting on return 6 weeks later. Very frustrating. My parents filed about the same time and got their refund within 2 weeks.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a DDD once the refund amount has been approved?
-
Sherry
I am tired of being verbally abused when asking for status of my refund. The next time I call the state I will be speaking with a supervisor to provide me with my update.

“Results
The department is processing your return, please allow additional time. The department refreshes the data on this application daily. However, during heavy processing periods, the status of your return may not change from day to day.” this is such a STUPID response… why not say they are behind and how far they are behind. this is going on 7 weeks for me …. RIDICULIOS!!! they always want their money NOW but when they owe you they are in no hurry …. Government & State , Congress… its all such BULL S***. -

Accepted 2/23 as of 5/18/16 still waiting on check from Missouri
-
Danielle
Does anyone know exactly how long Missouri has to pay you the refund without owing you interest? We filed 4/5, accepted 4/6 and still nothing.
-
W.S. Blevins
Missouri is notorious for holding on to taxpayer refunds so as to gain as much interest as possible. Generally, the state will refund your money right before the point that they by law have to pay you interest on it, which is several weeks.
Your best bet is to dramatically decrease or eliminate entirely your state withholding so as to owe the state at the end of the year. In the end it will save you a lot of headaches. -

I really do not understand why it is taking so long. If we owe the State of Missouri you want your money NOW! The ones of us who receive a refund we wait, wait, and wait. We are entitled to our refund. Not fair at all.
And thanks for the useless information on your web sites.

We’ve all seen this:
“Results
The department is processing your return, please allow additional time. The department refreshes the data on this application daily. However, during heavy processing periods, the status of your return may not change from day to day.”Really?…why bother posting that? Why not post something useful like: “Hey…sorry, we’re running behind 8-10 weeks…as usual…maybe we’ll get it right next year…”
So much for electronic filing…..7 weeks and counting….

Filed electronically through my accountant on April 6th and have not received a refund yet as of May 17th. Their site has said the following for the past few weeks. (The department is processing your return, please allow additional time.)
I can say that the delays do not surprise me. Last year I think it took 8-9 weeks. The year before that they processed my return in about 9 weeks but never sent me my refund. I ended up calling after 15 weeks and they basically said they made a mistake and must have forgot to send it and so they sent it to me that day. Long story short…. They are notoriously horrible at processing returns in a timely manner and regardless of the fact that they stated this year would be different, they are a complete joke. -

Filed April 15th. Today is May 12th, still says processing. It’s been 4 weeks, wonder how much longer?

Filed MO return using turbo tax on April 5. It was accepted same or next day. Still waiting for refund… Really not sure why it’s taking so long. MO Dept of Revenue site says it’s still processing. Wife and I have fairly simple return. Feds direct deposited refund within a week or two after filing. Missouri not really living up to “show me” standards.

I electronically filed my tax return on April 8, 2016, and still have not received my refund. I just checked the State of Missouri’s website today and it still says processing. I have a very simple return, 1 W2, short form. Why in the world it would take more than 6 weeks to prepare and mail is beyond me.

I mailed in a paper form since I’m a Kansas resident halfway through March, WAY before the filing date. I’m still waiting! And when I called 573-751-3505 all I get is the runaround and no humans!!!
This is absolutely redicous!! -
Tyle
I’m in the some position, i filed 1/31 and accepted on the same date, still says received refund and processing. Frustrating when you see people who filed a week later get their return
Let me know what they say when you call.

I filed 1/29 and accepted 1/29 thru HR Block. Mine still says processing. On hold now to find out why the delay. This is the first time my husband have filed joint and had a refund from MO so I wanting to know if the statement “first time filing and owed a refund they won’t direct deposit” is true in anyone else’s experience.
-
Kari
My ddd was supposed to be 2/11 and still nothing in my account. This is my first year filing in Missouri … I know my account information. What can the delay be?
-

I filed mo yesterday and received my text from TT that my return was accepted by the state. I checked online today and the state says they don’t have a return for me yet. Has anyone had this happen? Is the state still processing returns in basically 4 days?
-
Kristen
I filed and was accepted on 1/25 I got processed and had a refund date of 1/29. Still no money in my account. Anyone else have this issue?
-
Mark Bryson
I need help from whomever can. I filed my state tax with TT on the 25th of January. The refund status message says “received but not processed”. I am a bit confused, i don’t why that message. Now my cousin is worried because she doesn’t want hers to be like mine. Any advice on how she can file to get deposit date?

I filed on 01/29/16, accepted that same day. I just got a DDD of 02/03/15. I used Turbo Tax. It seems like state refunds are always pretty quick. At least for us anyway. Good luck!

Momma O
Just to update: I was processed and set for a DD date of today, and It WAS in my account this morning :) I hope all of you get yours soon! Good LUck!

Okay… Woke up this morning to done processing refund date of 02/02/15. Ill let you know if it hits my account. @Bill: did your refund status show anything about the paper check issue? Or did you have to call to find that out? Just curious because we mobbed and had alot of information changes this year and suspect that could happen to us too! Thanks for the info!
-
Bill
So here is the updatei have! Missouri sent me a paper check on 1/28 received it 1/30 today. It was supposed to be direct deposited on 1/28 but due to security measures if you have never filed in Missouri and got a direct deposit from them they issue a paper check
-
Bill
My issue date says 1/28 what time do they issue them?
-
Latricia Noel
Still no refund I called my bank and was told they never got anything and my husband got his so I am going to call in today
-
KJT_IL_MO
I filed my wife’s MO return on 1/24. It was accepted on 1/24. She has a DDD of 1/28. I filed mine on 1/25 and it was accepted on 1/25. I’m not holding my breath that mine will be that fast, but you never know.
-
sweetd
I hope you got your refund this morning @latricia. I got mine and refund issue date was for today.
-
Latricia Noel
I double checked my return and I have the correct routing number and account number so I guess I will just wait and see if it is in my account in the morning.
-
sweetd
Mine says, ‘Refund issue date: 1-27-16.’ I assumed that’s the day I would get it. Maybe they send it that day and I get it the next day. Could that be the case @Latricia? Did you verify your account number & routing number?
-
I did receive my MO refund! Even with a state offset. Their site never gave me a date. Call queues for the DOR have been long but I would call if you were suppose to get it by now!
-
sweetd
Oh, no, @Latricia! Did you call the MODOR?
-
Latricia Noel
My MO refund says refund sent on 1-26-16 but I did not see it in my bank.
-
sweetd
@whitneyf- I hope you got your deposit. Mine is scheduled for tomorrow.
-
@sweetd I still have this message:
The Missouri Department of Revenue has intercepted all or a portion of your state income tax refund. This refund was to satisfy or partially satisfy a debt you owe to the department or another government entity. You will receive a Notice of Debt Offset. Please wait until you receive this notice before contacting the department. But I called ot make sure they were giving me the remainder and she told me 1/26
I’ll post again later once it deposits. Others report though they give DDD
-
Sweetd
Awesome @whitneyf!!! What does it show on their website for you? Does it have your DD date?
-
I called the Missouri Dept. of Rev just now and was told my refund is scheduled to be deposited tomorrow! Yay for progress!
-
sweetd
I filed & was accepted on 1/22. Hoping for a deposit soon. No DDD yet.
