But there is a difference between a troll, an asshole, and someone just having a bad day. We try to see the difference and weed it all out. We have had had 70,000+ comments or replies in the past 30 days, please allow us some time to put out fires.

There will NOT always be a moderator available. And if you don’t know by now, we let a lot more fly here in the forums than other places. It’s only fair that you have a safe place to say FUCK. (Okay, maybe that won’t…[Read more]

  • 2019 IRS Cycle Code Chart
By using the chart below, you can translate your IRS cycle code into the calendar date in which your account posted to the master file. Your IRS cycle code can be found on your “account” […]

    • @Jeremiah: do you have EIC or ACTC. The as of date is exactly 21 days from when you filed. Meaning that the IRS has to action by that day or they will push out again. If you have the above credits then regardless you are to wait until 2/15. I would check on 2/15 ( your transcripts) if you have the credits

    • @alucard: I have the same cycle date. Did you update last night?

    • @Jeremiah: same boat have you found out anything about it???

    • If you are talking about the number shown below the word CYCLE, that is a code indicating when your return posted to the IMF. It’s not actually a “date” even though it looks like it might be. It is shown on the same line as code 150 Tax Return Filed. Or are you talking about the date under the word “DATE” on the same line?

  • Do you have a utility shut off or eviction notice and your tax return is still being processed?
If your tax return is still being processed and you filed what seems to be a long time ago, you are not alone. It’s […]

    • @LaurenMcC: i would give it a week and see if you update. Some have updated to a ddd from that message and some others have had issues. If nothing changes by next Monday, then I’d consider calling.

    • This tax season is a nightmare for single parents. It appears that about 75% of returns that were filed in January claiming the Eitc credit , are on a 45 day review that technically hasn’t even started yet?? What a nightmare!!!!

    • Ok Any1, Help
I filed 2/28/19 and was accepted same day.
Friday 3/11 the WMR bars disappeared and say: Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.
and also has tax topic 152 with all my info still on the left hand side including my refund amount.

IRS Said something about 04/08 with a 45 day review after my 04/08 dd
Not sure if I should I be worried at this point? I have been reading many different comments I am lost as ever

  • Did you receive a 4464C Letter or CP05 Notice from the IRS? A lot of taxpayers are waiting on their tax refund. Instead of a direct deposit, they are stuck looking at the message “…still processing…” on the […]

    • I spoke with a rep at the IRS who was a little grouchy at first, but once her realized I wasn’t gonna take my frustration out on him, he was very helpful. He said a 4464C letter was mailed out to me on 3/7/19. He explained that the 4464C letter is a little different from the CP05. The CP05 he said, goes out when a return is selected for a random 45 day review. He said the IRS may or may not even review these returns more closely, it doesn’t always take 45 days. The 4464C letter goes out when the review has located a discrepancy, such as reported w-2 income that doesn’t match with the SSAs files. He told me to “read it very carefully” and respond with whatever information is being requested. In my case, I know that I reported inaccurate income. I have to file an amended return because I accidentally over-reported my income when I used my last paystub instead of waiting for my w-2 (I had pre-tax health insurance premiums). The rep said the 60 days would start on the date on my letter (haven’t received it yet, but stalking the mailbox). So, I’m waiting for the letter, then I’ll file the amended return.

    • @Seeking Answers: Are you paying payments on an irs debt or anything?

    • @invegas: did you have self employment? Any changes at all?

    • @Waiting: Have you considered a tax advocate? They can help you, especially because of the length of time you’ve been processing

    • @Waiting: Print out a 911 form and fax it to the number provided on the form. They will assign you a local advocate. An advocate can look into your return and give you some answers, and can expedite your refund. I am sorry that you’re going thru this, but at this point, an advocate is your best option.

    • @ Poor but Happy: I beg to differ. If you go back thru this forum there have been quite a few helped by advocates. A lot of people that are in review or audit are there because of discrepancies in income. I respect your opinion but I totally disagree.

    • @dingleberry: yes I have seen 2 in the last 2 weeks. The letters are automated. After a certain amount of time, the computer will kick out “give us more time” letter.

  • IRS got another ass chewing. So pull out your W2s and 1099s, your tax return could go old school. Why? IRS wage verification. It seems people might need evidence to prove that their documents match what was […]

  • The current tax season is moving at a slower pace than last year.  We have noticed an uptick in complaints about refund timing and IRS Transaction Code 570. The IRS has reported an increase in tax returns filed, […]

    • Ive had the 570 and the 1541 message since 2/6.
      2/12 received 4464c.
No 971 on my Transcripts, 570 code dated 2-26-2018 still on my Transcripts.
No updates no reasoning at ALL!
I need my money and this is BS.
Last year i had my money by 2/23 this is BS to the MAX!

No point in me calling them, would do no good. TA’s are about as useless.
Did that one in 2016. Better to just wait it out.

    • @Cinnamon: You are in good company. There so many people in the same boat right now. More than we have seen in previous years.

    • @Sina: It’s hard to say for sure, but they correlate with an entire week’s cycle (which is why they are Monday dates) and they are usually listed next to the transaction codes for about 3 cycles out from when it was placed.

    • You can join others waiting with the 570 on the live discussion feed to get more immediate responses.

    • @nicole: Yeah, the stress is getting to me. I have so much I need to get done with the money… :-(

  • Millions of taxpayers who expect a tax refund can also expect tax refund delays in 2018.
Although the IRS claims they issue 9 out of 10 refunds within 21 days, that still leaves a lot of people who do not get […]

    • @C. Howard: Seems like they are telling everyone different stories. And that most just follow a script saying wait another 45 days. I am sorry you are getting the run around too. Checking for offsets should be a normal part of processing I would think.

    • @The IRS snack b*tch: Please do — I don’t think people realize how many are affected. It’s not even so much the delay, it’s the not knowing what’s going on that is upsetting so many people.

    • Yes, I will definitely share it everywhere. This is crazy were stuck with a 570 code that can mean so many things but yet when I call you tell me over and over nothing is wrong we just need an additional 45 days and some people are getting 60 days just to hold it for no apparent reason. It is said we keep getting different dates to get us off the phone. wait until after 21 days. wait until after 02/15. wait until after 02/27 now wait until we’re ready.

    • @Tadija: We are pretty much in the dark and think the 45 days line is just something they are spitting out to get people off the phone.

    • @Tadija: right!

    • @Mad taxpayer:
      @Butterfly

It seems many people were stalled in an income wage verification rut. Some seem to be clearing up on their own if they filed an accurate return and the IRS has been able to verify income. Others, with even minor discrepancies, are being required to file amended returns to restart processing. Some people have requested the assistance of TAS because the IRS is giving little info or canned scripts when you call. And then, there are a ton of people like you just sitting in the dark.
