@heather so my refund is stuck since they accepted it feb 11th. Has nothing to do with my IS. My transcripts haven’t even updated. I didn’t use the look back credit option or get EIC. I did get the ACAC. That’s it. I’m pretty pissed about it.

@Heather D just wanted to reach out to you because I think we are in a similar boat. My first stimulus of course as I have mentioned is still hung up at Ohio State. My husband called this morning and said it is now on hold until Feb 19th they just got a message from the IRS that they are still working on the issue. Feeling very defeated right now.

    • @steph-k thanks for reaching out – I just don’t get it. If we owed the IRS money you could bet they wouldn’t hesitate to get it from us. It’s not fair that we suffer from their mistake and no one there is willing to fix it. I am with you on being defeated. I don’t hold out any hope for a better outcome on this second one either. Still nothing:(

    • yes let down once again, still nothing in my informed delivery. People are really getting screwed here because to claim it on your taxes and if you owe taxes all they are going to do is reduce the amount you owe. I really give up, so over it.

    • Same here @steph-k. Just checked my informed delivery and nothing. Child support is just going to take it again I’m sure. I’ve given up too. We needed this so much and it was just another let down.

@heather did you file your 2019 taxes when your stimulus was sent?

  • Robcry2020 posted a new activity comment 8 months, 1 week ago

@Heather I was always told that dd is on Wednesday and checks are on Fridays. I had an 846 for 6/1 which was on a MONDAY. My check was in my hand that Friday. I was told that this year nothing is going according to plan so they are just closing and sending money any day of the week. I hope you get yours soon!

@Heather. Keep an 👀 on your accounts this morning! This is not a “routine ” dd so it just may be there before 10. I have heard others who’ve received in the later part of the morning. If you are eager you could always call your bank to see if a dd is pending.

@Heather yes you should expect the larger amount if you made the most income or claimed the most exemptions it’s two-fold.

@heather, my husbands CS case is in Arkansas and they allowed him to fax over a letter giving permission for them to speak with me regarding his case, maybe ask if you can do that.

  • Robcry2020 posted a new activity comment 9 months ago

@Heather that is what frightens me the most! My entire $4,400 was applied to my husband’s CS arrears. He owes roughly $6,000 but this is because they increased his monthly support amount and backdated it! It doesn’t appear that the Senate is acknowledging that it needs to be rectified before issuing a second round of stimulus. So where does that…[Read more]

@heather I see you received your stimulus. Was it for past due CS?

  • Anny T posted a new activity comment 9 months, 2 weeks ago

@Heather that makes sense. It was a good chunk so it sucks to lose it. Hope that chunk will be the last of it. Thanks!

  • Robcry2020 posted a new activity comment 9 months, 2 weeks ago

@Heather. When they do stimulus they split it 50/50 regardless of how much it is. I am supposed to get 4400 however I am only getting 2200. I don’t want you thinking that they are intentionally taking from your daughter only. They are taking from the family as a whole.

  • Steph-K posted a new activity comment 9 months, 3 weeks ago

@heather saying a prayer for this for sure.

  • Anna posted a new activity comment 9 months, 3 weeks ago

@Heather It is proposed on the new Heroes Act that we would receive the entire stimulus back from the CARES Act. Also, there would be no garnishments from next stimulus. Problem is it’s not supposed to pass Senate.

  • MariaSAH posted a new activity comment 9 months, 3 weeks ago

@Heather I hope this is factual! It will help us so much!

Thank you @Steph-K and @Heather. I hope you are right Heather – this has been a nightmare.

  • Steph_K posted a new activity comment 10 months, 3 weeks ago

@heather, thank you. It’s probably being inundated with people checking on their tax returns since no one at the IRS is “available”

  • Mojo posted a new activity comment 10 months, 3 weeks ago

@heather did you have one offset or 2 listed?

  • cfatic posted a new activity comment 10 months, 3 weeks ago

@Heather I think that means that he owes, but they did not offset your refund. When I called, it clearly told me that a refund for $2,400 was offset because of child support.

  • Anna posted a new activity comment 10 months, 3 weeks ago

@Heather that’s interesting. I wonder why some of us have two offsets. I thought it was bc they hadn’t processed my return and IS yet – I’m on week 11 now. But if you’re getting your half of stimulus and haven’t gotten your refund yet that gives me hope.

  • Anna posted a new activity comment 10 months, 3 weeks ago

@Heather I’m not sure. I have read that unemployment will also be garnished in some states for child support arrears so maybe that’s it? But I’m just speculating. There should be an offset of stimulus if cs reported his arrears to treasury Dept.
