So this year is really turning into crap! I submitted the IS ON APRIL AFTER MY ONSET. I call last week after 5 weeks to verify they at least received my return. Lady told me to give it another two weeks, I called the next day to see if the next rep knew more and she said I hav ego wait 45 days, so on 23rd of this month. But she could not confirm…[Read more]

    • The people who answer the phones can’t tell if they actually have it or not until someone starts working on it because the people who do work on it have to enter it into the system first. So nobody will see it until that happens and that can take several weeks. Also, this year the IS forms have been getting processed insanely slow and are taking…[Read more]

I’ve followed this forum for some time and I’m glad to know that I haven’t been the only one in this boat, but finally there’s some light at the end of this stupid tunnel. F/A electronically on 1/25 with IS throu TA. Cycle: 7/05. Processed as of 3/10. WMR updated as of 5/18. Refund scheduled for deposit: 5/22. Will update if deposit hits account.

Hi quick question does the as of date mean anything on the transcript?

    Thanks in advance.

    • The As of date is the date they last updated or changed anything involving your account. Sometimes it might update to a date in the future but usually that’s when they are done with your taxes for the year. Other than that it is usually todays date or a prior date. But yeah, it’s just so they know when your account was last worked on for anything.…[Read more]

Update… Not getting refund on 5/22 that is my offset date… IS still open. How much longer? Ugggh I thought I was done

    • You probably have another months wait to be honest. My brothers started pending on 3/19 and he sent his in after the offset too. They told him that he still had a month before they even consider trying to speed his up with a TA basically. I filed my IS through e-file back on 2/21 and it was accepted the some day. 3/18 was when it said it was…[Read more]

Currently on hold with irs lady said she was transferring me to IS department so hopefully I get answers she said she sees amount but for some reason they still are holding funds not sure why still no mailing date. 😩 IS received 3/4

    • Omg! Update so the lady from the IS department said that the adjustment should hit account 5/27 and give them 2 weeks after that to mail out check so she said expect 6/7 or 6/14 but if nothing recieved by 6/21 call back. I’m so confused! And frustrated!

    • Don’t be surprised if it happens much quicker! They like to say those extended dates to keep people from getting anxious and calling. You could update any time. My IS was rcvd 3/4 as well & I kept getting told insane lengths of time. I updated this past Friday to an 846-5/24.

    • I hope so my fingers are crossed! She also said that wmr won’t update anymore. So I was confused about that she was like it’s pointless to check wmr after IS has been offset.

    • Also does the as of date mean anything on the transcript?

Long time reader of this forum first time posting anyways I filed 1/28 accepted same day offset 2/27 for wife’s for student loans before marriage sent in IS form 3/4 they said that recieved 3/12 called on 4/22 that said my IS worker had it in the wrong year they had it in 2019 tax year but it’s being worked on and to call back in 30 days which…[Read more]

    • Also I don’t have access to my transcript because i have a company cell phone and i don’t feel like ordering one because I’m hoping this process is almost over

    • Well here’s the thing… I get mine tomorrow and I filed in February with my IS form. If they just started processing yours last month you could be waiting up to another month since most people, as far as this year goes, haven’t been getting theirs until they passed their 8-14 week time frame (depending on how they filed their form).

      As far as…[Read more]

    Filed 2/2 offset 2/22 received 3/11
12 weeks today and have not received anything in the mail
The IRStogo is still the same information, does anyone know if I have to change the amount or the “file” status?

    • No you don’t change either

    • Wmr will say the same thing until they issue you a deposit date or a mailed check date. 3/11 is 10 weeks though. Call them though. Preferably this number 1-800-829-0582 ext 652. They seemed helpful for me and answered right away. My transcript said it was processing on 3/18, I filed IS with my taxes on 2/21 and it was accepted tee same day and I…[Read more]

    • My IS forms were received the same day as yours, 3/4. My transcripts updated last Friday with an 846 dated 5/24. So if I had to guess, I would think you would be getting your check mailed this Friday too (at least that’s what…[Read more]

My patience seems to be waning since the IRS site updated us to “processing”. Our IS case was closed on 5/2, est.4-6 weeks for a check. (They said they do not DD on an IS claim….sent after the org. taxes.were filed.) Anyone have this close date and know when their check might be going out? I cannot access our transcript. Looking for any good…[Read more]

    • @gooftroop1 Same here, same boat so when they told me that I called back the next day just to see if I would get told the same thing and I got told the exact same thing except the 4-6 week part. I got my 846 code for Wednesday and wmr updated yesterday saying so to but got code saying could be offset but it filled injured spose with taxes fed 9. Doesn’t show injured spose on transcript should I be worried they still going to take refund?

  • Adrienne posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 1 day, 14 hours ago

WMR hasn’t changed since the end of February when it said my tax return was applied to a past debt. Beginning of May they got back my portion of the return and on May 6th it was closed. It updated today to “we have received your tax return and it’s being processed”. Hoping I’m going to get my check soon 🤣

    • Have you checked your transcript or called? Mine also closed 5/6 & I updated Friday to a refund date of 5/24. Usually WMR updates the weekend before your refund is released too.

    • I can’t access my account online, but I’ve been ordering transcripts and there has been no change on there

    • Same with me! No updates at all on WMR since my refund was offset in February and all of a sudden it just updated for me today with the same message as you. My transcripts updated on Friday with an 846 code dated 5/24, so I am hopeful that the WMR update just means they are finishing everything up. (Fingers crossed!!!)

All of our refund was taken for my student loans. I did not work this year and my wife made all the income. Our transcript updated yesterday. Can anyone help me understand what it means.

    • The 290 code is one that they typically try to release the funds to you by the date on it because if they don’t they end up having to reassess taxes and they have to pay interest to you. You’ll probably get an update the next day that your transcripts update… If your cycle code ends with a 5, it would be friday morning for a transcript update,…[Read more]

Hey, I’ve been reading this group since February. I finally got an 846 code for May 24, 2019. I assume I’ll get a paper check. Has anyone gotten their check before the refund 846 date? I know that when your refund is direct deposit, you get it on the refund date.

    • Doubtful. May 24th is the day they are mailing it, not the date you should get it.

    • You do not get your refund before the 846 date when it is a check. They only mail checks out on the date posted next to the 846 which is always a Friday. The only time it is not a Friday is if a federal holiday disrupts it but that’s not the case. But a federal holiday rallies 3 days after that date but you should still get the check sometime…[Read more]

    • Thanks guys, I guess I just gotta be a little more patience. 2 more weeks is nothing compared to the last 10 week I’ve waited. I’ll update when it comes to give everyone else an idea of how quick the paper check comes.

Update… our injured spouse claim closed 05/10 and the irs said allow 2-3 weeks for a refund. This morning WMR changed from a refund date will be provided when available , back to saying we have received your tax return and it’s being processed. Could this be a good sign that this long wait is nearly over?

    • The changes between the two posts don’t mean anything. But if they said to wait 2-3 weeks then odds are you’ll probably get a ddd next weekend or the following weekend. If you can check your transcripts online i would do that because those will update before wmr updates but only by a day to a couple days before wmr does.

  • Ginny posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 3 days, 10 hours ago

Still no update they are now telling me 4-6 weeks for processing a refund? How it that possible my refund was already processed. You mean 4-6 weeks for you to sit with your thumb up your butt until you press a button.

    • Has your case already closed?

    • IS recieved 3/4
      8 weeks up on 4/29
Money recieved back to IRS 5/6
Now just waiting for that to process. Which makes no sense to me. If you have the money back give it to the tax payer it is pretty simple. I was told that they need to wait on the computer to do it’s thing. I have requested 4 supervisor calls gotten no call back. I wrote 2 formal…[Read more]

Hi. This is our first year filing IS. My husband is the IS and this is for student loan debt. I filed our taxes electronically through TT 2/15 and they were accepted same day. • The IRS has been calling you?

    • If the irs is calling you, then i would personally call the irs at a number that the irs website gives you because there are false calls going around and technically the irs doesn’t call for info. They send you letters in the mail. The only time the irs should call is when you have a tax advocate with the irs. But if random irs workers are…[Read more]
