I will be getting a check this year because I filed injured spouse. My transcripts say refund issued 4/17 does that mean the check goes out tomorrow. This said this last Friday. I will look tomorrow to see if anything changed.

Yes we need it really bad. She should not owe it anyways. We have appealed it and they ignored us. Even after calling the national number the people we have spoke to say that my wife should still be receiving it. Our local office is super lazy and dont care. I heard it was only student loans they were giving back.

I did and it says addition tax assessed. But it is zero. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if they got a refund still.

Can anyone tell me what this code 290 is $0.00 next to it on my transcripts. I see the refund was not issued yet. Will this come in paper check. Is that why it does not have refund issued after the 766 code. I am weekly last week my IS showed up on my transcripts and this week these codes showed up.

    • You can google the code and find a description of what your specific code means. That’s what I’ve done.

    • Ohhh okay gotcha. If you don’t mind me asking is your debt student loan related?

    • I read somewhere that someone had that code and they still got their refund. Also, you should definitely get your refund back if it was taken by SSA. I used to work for SSA and I have a family member who still works for SSA and they are issuing refunds due to the president canceling all offsets. I think you’ll be fine.

    • I thought it was only student loans too but I also heard they were canceling any offsets. There’s so much confusion surrounding all of this. With the IRS not being open it’s near impossible to get a clear answer. I hope it all works out for you. I know SSA can be very difficult to deal with. Good luck!

So the IRS says it takes 8 weeks but your telling me December. We dont think the debt is valid. Even some people at SSA dont think its valid but our local office wont do their job. I was told by several people that IS normally take less than 12 weeks
And was told a Advocate wont really do much.

Sorry to hear. I am in the same boat. Just want some answers. I did not contact an advocate. Would like to have the refund by June. Had a house fire last year and still trying to catch up. Hopefully you will have your answers. Keep updating so we can see your progress

So I have a few questions. Filed 1/29 Had a DDD for 2/26. Did not have an offset until 2/22. Filed IS on 2/24 via priority mail. They Recieved on 2/26. Will my transcripts update even though I had already processed. Will WMR update again. Does it normally take the 8 weeks. New to this. I will be filing IS with my return next year instead of after.…[Read more]

    • They send them out on december o think and i never end up noticing them just check and see if you can find a way to fix the debt somehow cause this injured spouse shit is for the birds

    • we never got the letter either, and as of october we weren’t in offset.
