NorthSouthMommaI filed in March.
Had to verify my info in May.
Received a 90 day letter.
State was DD in July!!?
Then in October got the “deficiency” letter.
Difference less than $1k so I agreed.
WMR has said “processing” since Thanksgiving.!?
Has anyone received their Federal refund after agreeing to deficiency; if so how long did it take?
With government shutdown I can’t reach out to an TA .!?HELP ME .!.!.

SpookyridesWe finally got it Marty, then after paying them, they sent me another bill for $42, subject to interest, then another letter saying that we needed to ID Verify over the phone. Unreal. I shutter at filing this coming year honestly! Good luck all, chat in a couple of months.
October 12, 2018 at 12:14 am #4249358
Marty BHey guys, checking in! I got my return a few weeks ago now. Just thought I’d check in with Spooky and the rest of ya. I hope all is well and we’ve all gotten our refund!!

Ajc~F&A 6/26
~Called & completed IDV 7/23 – IRS rep said I would be put back into processing and will receive refund in 2-9 weeks.
~Called 8/23 – rep confirmed IDV was good and return would be received by ~10/4 (the full 9 weeks) and letter sent.
Letter received 9/6 stating they were verifying my wages, etc. Letter stated the same date of 10/4
~10/8 Still nothing. I’m debating on who to call. IRS or TA? Tried ordering transcripts “experiencing technical difficulties” Unable to order online (no way to verify).
I’ve seen some people have gotten theirs after like 5 months. I really can’t afford to wait anymore. I appreciate Any advice. Thanks!September 21, 2018 at 5:15 pm #4249237
NopeNopeNopeSo sorry to hear all of that, Craig! Call the Tax Advocate line. There’s no way you don’t qualify at this point.
September 21, 2018 at 2:50 pm #4249234So, I called the number the IRS gave me on the last letter they sent. I waited months before even trying to contact them. However, I was overdrawn on my account and the back closed it. I have gone back to work and so I opened a new account. The problem is, I gave the IRS my previous account number for DD. Getting back to the call, I was on hold for just over an hour when the music stopped and no one said anything. I said hello and then the call disconnected. Now, I am currently on hold again and it’s been 45 minutes so far. This is complete BS. I am currently trying to save my home from foreclosure and these crooks at the IRS don’t give two shits about any of us.So, even when they are done taking their on sweet time and finally release my refund it will probably get sent back and I will have to wait even longer. I am currently have taxes taken out of my checks but that is going to end and I will never again loan my money to the IRS. this is complete shit, companies like verizon and general electric pay nothing in taxes and get millions back from our taxes and then the IRS treats us like this. I want to move to Canada so bad. Or the Netherlands.
September 14, 2018 at 6:22 am #4249191
Spookyrides@Jeannine… call the national number for the Tax Advocates. Explain your situation as I’m positive the IRS have broken their own promise to you and you now qualify for a TA. That’s some damn BS! Be proactive, it won’t hurt to see what they can do.
September 12, 2018 at 8:44 pm #4249189
Jeannine adkindI’ve been coming on here reading and letting everybody kno about mi e so ya kno I also filed in Jan with turbo tax . I had called a few times was told to wait I got letters saying to wait as I did them I received a letter saying I was being examined or audited my daughter in law just passed away so I misplaced the letter I called was told she verified some of my info then still needed to mail a copy of my income in which I did she told me that they were so backed up nobody would probably look at it until 6 MONTHS .. yep I said six months so I mailed it in today I got a letter saying they received it dated 8/20/18 and they should review my response by 02/06/19 and contact me AGAIN if they need additional information .. UNREAL FEB NEXT YEAR ……..
September 12, 2018 at 4:48 pm #4249185
Spookyrides@Jamie, call the national Advocate number and explain your problem with the IRS. I’ll bet the Farm you now qualify! They will help you expedite the process!
September 12, 2018 at 4:47 pm #4249183
Spookyrides@Juststillwaiting, yes my WMR did update the Saturday before the DD as we’re weekly.
September 11, 2018 at 6:57 pm #4249181
NopeNopeNopeJamie: Have you asked for a tax advocate? “You have not received a response or resolution to your problem or inquiry by the date promised” is qualification enough for a TA. They may be able to help speed things along.
September 11, 2018 at 4:44 pm #4249179
JamieFiled in march- got the 60 day letter in may. No updates at all since then. Called once and was told there was a possibility of an audit.
Called again two weeks ago and was told that the employer didn’t send in all the W-2’s (they get one for each job, its contract). IRS says that they probably wont even investigate the issue until February and there is nothing that can be done on my end. WMR doesn’t even say received.September 8, 2018 at 11:49 am #4249168
Jessi PowellI been waiting since March for my taxes finally got a TA at the end of August. Got a call from my TA that my refund would be direct deposited on September 12. Finally!!!
September 8, 2018 at 8:05 am #4249165
Juststillwaitingspookyrides……Did your wmr update?
September 7, 2018 at 9:02 pm #4249163
Ashley@spookyrides yea his boss called and said I know that’s a lot of month to lose but walk away from it.. easy for some who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars from this job and owns sides businesses to say walk away from a few grand to spare the company.. it hurts that all he has put into it and how proud he was to get his promotions to realize it’s a bunch of crappy people… I’ve gotten documents ready to fight it but I want us to agree on the decision…
September 7, 2018 at 3:17 pm #4249160
Spookyrides@Ashley…. Soooo sorry! That’s friggin horrible! Does his employer realize just how much money you guys are going to loose? Maybe you can call the national TA line and try to get a different agent to work your case? That’s some Damn BS for sure!
September 7, 2018 at 3:21 am #4249158
AshleyUpdate: Y’all will love this…
Filed and accepted 2-16, in review about a week late then a few 60 waits and finally got a t.a., asked for some info and sent in called on my birthday to tell me she was going to close the case… good news right? Hahaha… she said my husband’s employer said he did not and has not ever worked there.. say what?.. ok well I can have then fix it and get you what you need right? No I’m closing the case… gee thanks for the help… so husband called his employer and talked to h.r. (bc surely an employee of 6 years this is a mistake) told them what was going on and needed them to send verification he worked there… was told they would call him back.. they told his boss to tell him that when the irs calls they deny the person works there bc they do not want the irs going through their files bc they employ illegals and told he was not to pursue the refund… what the actual f… he can’t quit bc he is afraid he won’t find a job paying that much elsewhere, despite having check stubs, 1099, bank statements they paid him and emails etc from the company he is too scared to fight it bc of their lawyers, and the t.a. was not even willing to ask for anything else that could have probed our case without going through the employer… now if the irs decides to take any action against me or my husband we will be in a battle and he we r so worried this is going to come up to bite us later and mess up his permanent residence… how in the world can these ppl sleep at night?… at times like these I can understand why some people snap… by the way bc his job makes most of their $ in the warm weather we use the tax refund to pay bills over the cold season so there goes bill, home repair, holidays, birthdays for our 3 kids… 11k down the drain… what’s a girl to do?September 6, 2018 at 7:59 pm #4249155
SpookyridesThanks Nope, those TA’s are actually IRS agents that congress put in place to self-police themselves. Give him/her 3 weeks then follow up. Bye now thee paying you interest and probably messed up a few times. Hang in there!
September 6, 2018 at 6:24 pm #4249153
NopeNopeNopeCongrats, Spooky! Still waiting here, but I was assigned a TA a few weeks ago, and I’m hoping mine can work some magic as well. What a long, strange trip it’s been.
September 6, 2018 at 4:34 pm #4249151
SpookyridesSo we finally, after 8+ months, got our refund today. Took the TA just three weeks to get it done. We still have to pay back 2k due to the amended return, but our journey is over. I hope anyone else gets theirs soon too and that none of us have to deal with this complete and utter trash ever again!
August 30, 2018 at 9:40 am #4249123
StarbabiesI also am still waiting for Wmr to update. Im still stuck on “we have received your return and it is being processed”. I mailed in all documents July 16th 2018. I called in a few days later to make sure they received it and was told the 9 week wait bs. Wmr does not change no bars no other letters…nothing. So frustrating. I got my first letter in March. Couldnt send everything till i came back from out of state…so i lost time there. September 10th is my 9 week end date. Lets see. Good luck to all.

August 29, 2018 at 8:01 am #4249112
ShayFor everyone that is still waiting I finally got my refund. I have been waiting since the beginning of February. WMR never updated I checked my account this morning and my refund was there. Just thought I would post to give everybody that is still waiting a little hope. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we won’t have to go through this next year.
August 26, 2018 at 1:27 am #4249097
Marty B@Spookyrides, I hope none of us do next year!! And yes I’m going to cheese cake factory to celebrate as soon as it gets here! Lol
I’ll keep in touch. We’ve all bonded so well over our bad luck this year, almost become pals lol
August 25, 2018 at 6:16 pm #4249095
Spookyrides@ Marty B, Congrats Man! Time for you to buy a Steak! Hopefully next year none of us have to deal with this yet again.
August 25, 2018 at 5:12 am #4249093
Marty BWell folks for the first time since April my WMR has updated. Says my check is being mailed by August 31st. Thankfully my journey has come to an end it appears. They paid interest and got my bars back. So seems legit!
I’ll keep checking in and see how you all are doing and I sincerely wish you all the best of luck and I hope you get your refunds very soon!!!

SpookyUpdate: my TA called me today before 8 am. Very educated, punctual and even apologized for the BS that the IRS has sent me thru. Said they screwed up twice. Told me a few important things: First, he’s going to ask the IV dept. to release the return, would take 2-3 weeks. If they refuse and want an amended return due to a bad W2 my idiot former employer sent them, the Amended return will already be there. Says either/or I’ll get back 3K less but that’s better then nothing. If they go the amended route, says no later then mid-October but probably mid-September. Told me something else: when we call the “call center” and they ask questions n put us on hold, there only looking thru scripted response sheets to answer us. That’s why we always get a different answer! Idiots get graded on how fast they can end our calls and the volume per day. And next year will be worse (his words). Unreal, but I couldn’t be happier with this guy (so far). Will update once I see which way we’re going.
August 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm #4249081
Spooky@Shay, I don’t have the direct number and extension I’ve used to call but if no one else posts, I’ll post it here tomorrow when I get home. Don’t you have the TA’s number to call him?
August 22, 2018 at 4:12 pm #4249079
ShaySo my TA was supposed to be contacting me today and I have been sitting by the phone waiting on a call but of course I didn’t get one. I had a feeling that this was gonna happen. I’m assuming that he will send me another letter stating that he tried to contact me by phone. I guess I am going to call the irs myself now since all I’m getting from the TA is a bunch of lies. Can someone please post the number to call to speak to someone alone with what options I need to press.
August 21, 2018 at 7:19 pm #4249076
Spooky@ Sodone Congrats! My own update: Nothing. TA is supposed to call me no later then tomorrow, then, if they don’t call, I have to call them Thursday. Already faxed them our amended return for a mere cost of $26. Dear God this whole tax season is one to truly forget! I hope n pray next year it’s not any of us again!
August 21, 2018 at 9:11 am #4249073
sodonewithwaitingUpdate: My WMR finally updated on Saturday August 18 stating that my refund would be mailed on August 24th instead of deposited into my account. Problem is, I moved and didn’t bother to tell them I moved cause I thought it was going to just deposit into my account. Luckily, I may have access to my old place. I literally almost lost hope in ever receiving my refund. I’ll keep you guys posted if im able to access my old mailbox!
Basically my story is they said my income didnt “Match up” after waiting 4-5 months for an answer why i haven’t gotten my refund. I they sent me a letter asking for proof of income. after about 6-8 weeks my refund was released and they took off a few hundred from what i claimed.
anyway good luck everyone…..
August 18, 2018 at 12:30 am #4249063
Marty BI called this morning again, was told to call back on 9/15 if not heard anything as this form of referral I have doesn’t take the full 60 days and it actually speeds up the process.
I’m sure I too, will have to amend. I may as well go ahead and do it honestly. But idk if I can or not without them telling me to??
August 17, 2018 at 9:45 am #4249055
NopeNopeNopeWhoa, beyond baffled! :(
August 17, 2018 at 8:44 am #4249053
Spooky@Nope & Marty: My former & now defunct employer sent in my W2 with a 6K car allowance as income, which it’s not. I use my own vehicle and can’t claim the mileage. Welp…. once I caught the mistake it was too late as there’s no one to contact to fix it. So the IRS thinks I made another 6K which I didn’t. So I’m amending to count the 6K and loose about 3K of our refund, just to push this damn thing through as my wife’s small business desperately needs the influx of cash. Bye the way… the TA’s are also IRS Agents, that departmental was congresses way of having them self-police themselves. Thru this whole mess, the IRS told me not to amend, just wait, which in fact was wrong the whole time! Six months wasted for nothing!
August 17, 2018 at 5:55 am #4249050
LondyBabyI too was finally told to do an amendment 6 months later I just hope I get paid interest on top of my refund and hoping it doesn’t take 8 more weeks . Beyond me why they couldn’t had made the adjustment months ago
August 17, 2018 at 4:26 am #4249047
Marty BI’m calling them this morning again myself. This is horse shit!
August 17, 2018 at 2:57 am #4249045
NopeNopeNopeWow, Spooky, that’s wild! I’ve been following your saga and I’m so sorry you’ve been given the runaround for so long. I didn’t file until April, so while the past few months have been frustrating, at least I haven’t been waiting ALL DAMN YEAR like a lot of you on here.
I called in yesterday morning after my second 60 day wait (referral) was up with no refund/update. The representative at the call center said I qualified for a TA even though I don’t have a hardship. (Although I’m in my early 20s and live paycheck to paycheck, so this refund would certainly help me feel more secure! A flat tire could ruin me at this point.) Like a few have said previously, apparently once the IRS “breaks their promise” to contact you after so many times, you qualify. Anyway, the representative said they forwarded my info to a TA that would call me within 5 business days. Nothing yet, but it’s only been a day and a half (and the first half day probably doesn’t count as part of the 5 days).
Do you think the representative really forwarded my info, or will I have to hunt down a TA myself? I’m paranoid I won’t be getting a call within the 5-day window, since I’ve been told the IRS would contact me within X days twice now, but haven’t heard anything back within the timeframe. In fact, I haven’t received any communication from the IRS since the initial 4464C letter. I’ve had to track them down to learn anything.
\When will the madness end? (Spring 2019, apparently?)
August 16, 2018 at 8:11 pm #4249042
Marty BI mean are they telling you what to amend exactly??
August 16, 2018 at 8:09 pm #4249040
Marty BWow Spooky!!!! Crazy shit!!!!! Why do they want you to amend it for???? And do they scan amended returns and not scan what they have so far?!!?
August 15, 2018 at 8:48 pm #4249037
SpookyridesUpdate: Soooo after all of this, I now qualify for a TA due to our small business loss last year, and now they want us to amend our return. If we don’t, I’ve been told by the TA that we are looking at our refund probably next spring, at best. If we amend, it could be another 8 weeks, but could be only 3-4 once the idiots scan in the amended return. I asked why they didn’t want us to do this back in March, Answer: So they could continue to stall and not process the refund. Unreal!
August 15, 2018 at 1:25 pm #4249033
Spooky@Marty B I think the next excuse is that it wasn’t sent the first time, or now it’s held in accounting and that they may request more info. It’s honestly too damn funny now that there getting away with this.
August 15, 2018 at 1:03 pm #4249031
Marty BSomeone refresh my memory, what excuse follows the 60 day referral???
August 15, 2018 at 1:03 pm #4249029
Marty BI had to call them for them to send the referral. And I heard all about how that department is way behind. What a crock of shit!
August 15, 2018 at 12:29 pm #4249027
Marty BWell guys an UPDATE! And much like we all knew, they sent a referral for my refund to be released and will take up to another 60 days!!!!!!!
Jesus Christ!
I totally saw this happening!!!
August 14, 2018 at 9:45 pm #4249024
Spookyrides@ Marty It’s very apparent that they “false positive” more pulled returns just to appease the Fedaral reserve, whom they answer to, then to have the people in place to handle this. Corrupt would be the first thing I can think of. Beyond illegal would be the second. I’m going to post tomorrow the complaint guides to go to the Federal Reserve and hope everyone still stuck here uses there voices to let them know what complete BS the IRS is doing.
August 14, 2018 at 7:27 pm #4249022
Marty BUpdate for me : nothing! Not a letter! And I haven’t even bothered to make time to call them yet! Same bullshit.
I’ll try to call them in the morning and post whatever lie I’ll get here. Best of luck to all of us!August 14, 2018 at 8:28 am #4249018
ShayHere’s the update on mine. I heard from my TA and he said that the person that is working on my has been on vacation. So I’m guessing they have a limited number of people working now. The IRS has proven to me that they are really worthless and that they can do whatever they feel with our money. It’s sad that they can take a vacay but not process our returns so that we can get our money
August 14, 2018 at 6:34 am #4249016
Spookyrides@Jeannine Sorry for your loss. That makes perfect sense now, they pulled too many returns by picking on early Turbo TA users just to make the Federal Reserve happy while lacking the employees to handle them. So now there using every stall tactic just to give themselves more time. So in trying to look good and save there own pathetic jobs, we pay the price by lack of our own money. I continue to write anyone in government that I can over this and the Ferdal Attory is going to be next. None of this getting lied to is right.
August 14, 2018 at 1:18 am #4249013
JeannineWell I filed in Jan with turbo tax , called a few times was told do nothing but wait , got the under review letter wait … so I finally got a letter saying send in some stuff but I lost it , my daughter in law passed away , in the mean time I tried to call a few times .. finally got thro was then connected to the examantion dept she checked out a few things told me I had to verify my income and that my son lived with me he’s 23 .. I’ve filed the same way for yrs my income don’t change .. but I did as she said ….. BUT she told me they are so far behind that AFTER they get it that it’s be ATLEAST 6 months before someone would even look at it .. smh
August 13, 2018 at 4:43 pm #4249011
Spookyrides@Nope At times they will claim its only business days that they count. (What a joke!). I called again just to make sure my referral went to the IV dept. last Friday and that someone didn’t “forget” yet again. So now I have another 59 Days to wait. They said if bye then, we still don’t have it, then they can forward me to a TA. As if a TA that answers to the IRS would change things! Only department that self polices itself!
August 13, 2018 at 3:43 pm #4249009
NopeNopeNopeIn fact it’s been 61 days!
August 13, 2018 at 3:42 pm #4249007
NopeNopeNopeThanks, Spooky, that did the trick! They told me my 60 days weren’t up yet, but it’s been 60 days!!! I feel like I’m going crazy…
August 13, 2018 at 8:45 am #4249005
Spooky@ Nope Nope Nope Call: 800-829-0582, Then pick #1 for English, then when asked, put in extension 652. Behold: you will still wait but get a live person. Be ready with all your info as they will ask the usual questions. My referral was sent last Friday to the IVO department, They have until October 10 now. Might also send a complaint into the Treasury Inspector General as that’s who the IRS answers too. Good luck!
August 13, 2018 at 7:40 am #4249002
NopeNopeNopeHey everyone. I’m in the same boat as a lot of you. Tax return accepted early April, received a letter to wait 60 days, heard/received nothing back so I called the IRS and was told to allow another 60 days, and lo and behold the second 60 days has come and gone with no refund and no communication from the IRS. I tried calling the IRS (~7:30am local time) using the same phone # I used a few months ago, but it seems like their menu has changed. I tried following the procedure given at this link (which totally worked for me before),
but there are now only two options: one for refunds and one for ordering a transcript, both of which send you to automated phone lines.
Is there even a way to talk to a live human at the IRS anymore???
August 11, 2018 at 2:08 am #4248986
Marty BSpooky, get the lube ready! We both gonna be needing it!
August 11, 2018 at 2:07 am #4248984
Marty BMyself, like all of you, I’m being bent over and jabbed in the a$$!
After everything I been through, my deadline once again was August 11th. Here we are, waiting to see if WMR updates as it’s stayed the same since march! If not then I call on Monday for all the same old shit. This time they were put in a whatever to release the funds. That takes ANOTHER 60 days to process! A huge bunch of shit!
August 10, 2018 at 10:07 pm #4248982
Spooky@Shay…. I honestly feel the same way! I’m thinking it won’t be until next year I see my refund. After doing my second ID verify, I’m now told they didn’t send the referral to realease the funds! Duh! Now it’s sitting at the IV dept. Yet another stupid mistake and onto another 60 day hold. The IRS should be broken up completely. These folks could honestly care less if we ever get our refunds!
August 10, 2018 at 11:50 am #4248976
ShayI am beginning to wonder who are the TA’s really working for. Is it the tax payers or the irs. Every time I receive a letter mine is telling me that he was unable to reach me by phone. The problem is I answer all of my calls. I give up at this point. I am starting to realize that I may never receive a refund this year.
August 6, 2018 at 5:26 am #4248934
KolebabyI filed in february. By mid March I heard nothing so I called, she said I received a letter, I said no I did not, which is why I’m calling mam, her response was oh well within the next 8-10 I would receive a letter requesting to verify. I did. I complied. By 6/20 I was verified. Here is August and I have not heard a word yet again and my wmr says “still being processed”. Turbo tax is wanting their payment. I’m in serious need of a car because my son starts school this week and I have no transportation to comply with our school on required documentation/immunizations/ etc…etc…I mean why these folks playing with a single moms money.
August 5, 2018 at 10:57 pm #4248932
Spooky@ All: Waiting since January, 45 day wait, then magically 60. Another 60 then ID verify in person, that didn’t count. ID over the phone, then another 9 weeks. Told if by then no refund, grab a TA then fight it. At this point I could honestly care less. Biggest unethical bunch of J-Asses I’ve ever spoken to. Something about all of this has to be against our laws but who to complain to?!? I’ll File in five months yet again, and still no damn answers or refund. I honestly quit at this point.
August 5, 2018 at 10:47 pm #4248930

LondyBabyI’m supposedly waiting on a TA to call me smh she was scheduled to call me the 26th of July I’ve left several messages still no returned called I think imma jus give up it’s been since February
August 2, 2018 at 7:57 pm #4248914
Spookyrides@ Craig, same thing I was thinking, how much this interest is costing! Last time I called, the guy said it was “only” week three out of nine. I reminded him that I’ve been waiting “Only” six damn months for my money! I honestly don’t see us getting anything until December, if at all. None of any of this makes any sense. Either there really short on money, they are trying to make themselves look good to the fed, there that damn stupid or all of the above.

AshleyI got a letter requesting evidence from a t.a. and says hopefully by the end of October it should be resolved. Then again she does work for the irs so I’ll take her word as far as u can throw it huh?
August 1, 2018 at 2:31 pm #4248902nothing new here either. it will be 6 months since I filed in 2 days.
I find it funny that the IRS can pay interest on all of the returns that are just sitting somewhere just to appease the FED. Maybe 10% of the flagged returns end up fraudulent and I might be exaggerating it. so imagine the IRS paying $100 on average to say one million returns. That’s $100,000,000…. I think the actual numbers are higher but still. If anyone is defrauding the government, it’s the FED.

Marty BNothing new to report. Same shit. Best of luck everyone!
July 29, 2018 at 12:24 am #4248876
Spooky@tammy yep’ these guys “working” our returns could care less. We filed in January, 45 day turned magically to 60 day, bad ID verify, another 60 days, then another ID Verify and another 9 weeks. Insanity! Welcome to the IRS, where no one cares that they owe you money, until you owe them. Then it’s days before they take it from you! Unreal!
July 27, 2018 at 11:46 am #4248863
Tammy JelksSorry wrong date…Its been since 4/17 and the letter I received said they should be done by October 24th….That sucks!!!!!!!!
July 27, 2018 at 11:41 am #4248861
Tammy JelksI filed 1/26 and I was rejected on 1/29 U had to mail in return. They received my forms on 3/16 my bar moved and on 3/20 and said received and being processed…On 3/23/ I checked for update and it said that I was flagged for review..I send forms that they wanted and I have been in review since 2/17 and still no updayes…Sad
July 25, 2018 at 8:01 pm #4248845
Spooky@Chris…. Congrats man! Enjoy the money! Hopeful none of us repeat this next year.
July 25, 2018 at 10:58 am #4248843
ChrisFor those still waiting when the end finally comes – I received my return today (overnight on schedule with when my transcripts said it would). WMR didn’t update to show that the refund was sent. Probably won’t until this Saturday I feel.
Good luck to the rest of you waiting, hope you don’t have much longer!

Chris@londybaby @spookyrides
When I initially called them back in May, the lady who put in a referral for my funds to be released said that the ID department would call me if they needed further verification. But they never did.
I even asked “well don’t you normally tell people that the IRS doesn’t call – it’s all via mail? Especially with fraud and scams running amock?” She said she knew it sounded weird. I’m kind of glad they never called because I don’t know if I would have felt calm giving that sort of sensitive data over the phone.
July 24, 2018 at 8:08 am #4248830
Marty BNot been here in few days. Frustrated. But as I see by all the comments and other posts absolutely nothing has changed for anyone. The folks losing their homes and cars should all file a class action lawsuit against the IRS.
I’m blessed enough not to have to rely on mine but I know plenty of folks that do. This is a horrible situation for many and I’m absolutely pissed off myself.
July 22, 2018 at 4:27 pm #4248787
LondyBabyThat’s what the last rep told me that I would receive a call within 7 days😩
July 22, 2018 at 9:13 am #4248782
Spookyrides@LondyBaby I’ve never heard of them calling anyone about anything. Usually it’s just the letters that they sometimes actually send out. Never want to go thru this BS ever again.
July 22, 2018 at 8:25 am #4248780
LondyBabyAnybody waiting on a call after both 60 days are up and whatbwas the outcome I filed and was accepted February 2nd they never sent out the verification letter I was told I was waitin on 2 months ago the rep told me she doesn’t even see it being sent out and now I’m just waitin on this call which hopefully is just a call to say they are releasing my damn money
July 22, 2018 at 2:41 am #4248776
Marty BThis year just absolutely sucks ass!
July 21, 2018 at 5:17 pm #4248772
AshleyI filed Feb 16 and was accepted same day. Then got the 60 review letter about 4 weeks after filing.. waited 60 days from the date on the letter which was March 26 called the irs because we haven’t received any info or $… the lady said she would put in a referral to release funds or notify and to give it 60 days… waited about 60 days then my husband called and the lady told him that she would put a note in our account and refer him to a t.a because we had already waited after the 60 day referral which breaks their promise or something so even though we don’t have a hardship we should qualify for a t.a. and to give it 5 days for the t.a. to call… guess who still don’t have our refund, a t.a. or any info… this lady right here… wmr and transcripts haven’t updated with anything either…
July 21, 2018 at 3:27 am #4248763
ChrisIt’s just after midnight – can confirm that my bars have appeared.
July 20, 2018 at 3:55 pm #4248750
Spookyrides@Marty B, yep my brotah’ our 45 day with the phantom notice never received. Guess I’m stupid as I wasted more time today and called. My ID verification has been closed out, no new notices or codes added, dud said I’m in week 3of 9 now (I count it as week 4) but whatever. Much like yourself, I’ll be Christmas shopping bye the time I see anything!

July 20, 2018 at 3:32 pm #4248740
ChrisAlso – I should add that WMR hasn’t updated for me at all during all this- I’ll check tomorrow – but maybe whoever posted that they aren’t updating it anymore had some foresight.
July 20, 2018 at 12:44 pm #4248738
ChrisI am so sorry you’re going through all that! What kind of stuff do they want you to send in to verify your income? I wonder if you’ll get a LTR12C too? I had to send in my W2, my spouse’s W2 and our 401k information. Hopefully it’s something easy like that?
My transcript updated today with an 846 code-my refund should be issued on 7/25 with $106.08 in interest.
Don’t know if all the stress and what if’s were only worth $100 some odd… but at least they’re doing right by tacking it on.
July 20, 2018 at 10:05 am #4248736
Marty BJust got off the phone with them. Stupid me. Although my letter said 45 day hold their computer said 60 day hold and the lady on the phone straight told me they’re gonna make me prove my self employment income. And even at that it’ll be ANOTHER 60 day hold. So I might get my refund to Christmas shop with, MAYBE.
NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN SO ASS RAMMED!! I’m beyond pissed off!!!!!!!!!!! Ooooooh and she said they’d sent me a letter on June 11th placing my return on the 60 day hold and not just the 45 day hold btw. Such absolute horseshit!
July 19, 2018 at 8:54 pm #4248729
Marty BNo check, no letter from irs or nothing today! If nothing by Monday I’m calling them!
July 19, 2018 at 7:02 pm #4248727
Spookyrides@Chris: Hate that you have to wait more, but you also proved that the rumor that the IRS will never make adjustments on their end is false. At least you have a solid timeframe now.
July 19, 2018 at 6:35 pm #4248725My last letter said I would have a check within 2-3 weeks. It was dated July 2 so hopefully tomorrow I get good news :\
July 19, 2018 at 5:42 pm #4248723
ChrisI received a CP24 today in the mail (why is it that this week is the first week in a month that my USPS informed delivery hasn’t been delivered until after my mail has been collected from our mail box? 😂😂)
Anyway, as I suspected – they said that my return was adjusted due to my estimated tax payment, I should receive payment in the next 4-6 weeks. Lol, more waiting, but it appears my saga is nearly over.
July 19, 2018 at 2:27 pm #4248719
KhawlaIs there any legal action we can take? This is just absurd! No refund, no explanation, nothing even mentioned on the media about this mess!!! What a shame!!
July 19, 2018 at 6:52 am #4248716
Spooky@Marty B, yes please update us on what the next step for you is, as I’m sure I will follow you. Had high hopes your ordeal was over, finally!
July 19, 2018 at 4:37 am #4248714
Marty BWMR still not updated. Supposed to have my check today per CP05 notice.
July 19, 2018 at 1:08 am #4248710
Marty BI guess I’ll probably call them when nothing comes in the mail. I’ll let you know their next stall tactic should I get one.
July 19, 2018 at 1:06 am #4248708
Marty BMy situation is supposed to be over today. It’s the 19th. My WMR never has updated or changed. I’ll let you all know when my mail runs, but at this point I’m in doubts myself. I hope you all get your refunds and this nightmare will be over for us all!
July 19, 2018 at 12:34 am #4248706
Spooky@Chris: don’t even waste your time calling the “Idiot call center”. There certainly instructed only, to ask you questions, put you on hold, only to get back to you to say that: A. You have the Phantom letter coming, B. Your under another 45-60 day wait or C. You have to ID Verify. Biggest bunch of Ashats’ ever hired, and instructed to give you zero info. The Ferderal reserve lit up the IRS over last years bogus returns. This year we’re all paying the price! And no one at that Ashat’ agency gives a Damn Crap!!!
