Filed Injured Spouse Form 8379 Group

The injured spouse on a jointly filed tax return files this form to get back their share of the joint refund when the joint overpayment is applied to a past-due obligation of the other spouse.

So my transcript updated with a refund date this morning!! My refund date is 9/13 and my next entry is another 290 for 9/20. I’m really hoping they’re only refunding the UI refund right now, and that there’s going to be another assessment with the rest of what I think I’m supposed to get. It would make sense, and I get it, I just don’t understand why they’re doing it the way that they are.

My transcript shows a partial reversal of one of my garnishments as of last night, but no change to my as of date yet, hopefully there will be more because I was not expecting for 7929 to go all the way down to 2049 when I made the bulk of the money. It’s possible that it’s the UI tax refund, but I don’t know why they pulled it from one of my garnishments.

Hoping for an update for everyone tomorrow! I filed in mid-February and still nothing. This is ridiculous!

I have a small update: my as of date hasn’t changed on my transcript, but my account now shows under 2020 balance info that they’re updating my 2020 information. It says two weeks to complete updates. Hopefully my as of date of 8/23 gives me another update to share.

so I managed to get thru to someone at the IRS, e-filed 3/3 mind you. as of last week it’s just now in the IS dept. they didn’t even look at our taxes until June. Total BS!! I said so I’m looking at October again until we get our return. Unacceptable on so many levels. For all of you who are waiting, good luck I sympathize with you.

I’ve been lurking in this thread a lot. This is my first time ever filing an IS form, as we just got married last year. Y’all have helped me not feel so alone in this.

I filed and was accepted in Feb.
Was applied to husband’s CS arrears in Mar.
Filed IS form on May 12 via snail mail.
Updated transcript with “new tax assessed” code on July 26.
Updated transcript with “IS rec’d May 17” code on Aug 9 with new as of date Aug 23.

Is anybody else transcript showing no return file? And has anybody received a DD with no updated transcript?

Filed and accepted 2/22 electronically with IS. Received no stimulus, no CTC. FINALLY, today I received a DD date of 8/11. 24 weeks later! At least the IRS paid me $40 in interest for my trouble

I filed in February with IS. My return was processed and I received my refund on June 12th. I received the last stimulus and the CTC payment for July. No word on my unemployment adjustment but I’m hearing that even with the IS spouse form they are offsetting the payment due to spouse’s child support. What are we supposed to do if that happens? I HATE THE IRS!!

F/A 3-18. Got a ddd 7/15 i did recived it but still no CTC. Check yet i did have to get a T/A although before she could even start working my case. I had end up getting a ddd then i was told you would recive CTC after you get your refund so far i haven’t gotten one yet

no one answering main IRS number, no one answering TAS number. Last time I spoke to TAS last week she said it was scheduled to release August 8th but I’ve heard that song and dance before. Was disconnected before I could file a case now I can’t get thru at all. This is all so unfair to all of us still waiting. I am in desperate need of this refund.

Nothing here! :( Filed IS electronically in mid-February because I thought it would go faster that way. Guess I was wrong! Last year, I didn’t get my tax refund until mid-August, and I filed IS separate that time. Still no advance CTC either.

Filed IS on 3/25/21. Received the last stimulus check and July’s child tax credit check by mail with no issues. Today marks 17 weeks! Someone please give me hope and tell me you’ve received a 2021 IS return 🙏

Filed tax return with IS form electronically in mid-February, still no tax refund and the CTC portal says, “Pending. You will not receive advance payments at this time.” I contacted my local congressman to hopefully get things moving.

I just got off the phone with a tax advocate and they told me that the injured spouse form is already done that there part is already completed. the only part of my taxes that needs to be done is the actual return unemployment, stimulus payment and so on. so they cant do much to expidite the process in my situation.. How much longer will i have to wait this is so dumb..

We received all of our stimulus checks, so there was no problem there. I am starting to feel like we may never get our refund! Tell me someone out there has gotten theirs back by now…..

If you do file for your own security reasons it will prolong your estimated timeframe on when you get your refund
