      Hello,

On the IRS Where’s My Refund site it shows that part of my refund was sent to my bank and the rest was offset. I got a letter stating that all of it was offset and then filed an injured spouse claim, this is what my transcript says:

      — ANY MINUS SIGN SHOWN BELOW SIGNIFIES A CREDIT AMOUNT —
      ACCOUNT BALANCE: 0.00

RETURN DUE DATE OR RETURN RECEIVED DATE (WHICHEVER IS LATER) Apr. 15, 2015
      PROCESSING DATE Mar. 02, 2015
CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION CYCLE DATE AMOUNT
      150 Tax return filed 20150602 03-02-15 $7,559.00
      76221-437-84817-5
      806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 04-15-2015 -$10,606.00
      766 Credit to your account 04-14-2015 -$965.00
      846 Refund issued 03-02-2015 $4,012.00
      898 Refund applied to non-IRS debt: 03-02-2015 $0.00
      $2,262.00
      898 Refund applied to non-IRS debt: 03-02-2015 $0.00
      $1,750.00
      971 Injured spouse claim received 02-23-2015 $0.00

So, does this mean I am getting nothing? A full $1400 of our refund was due to education credits from MY school. How can debt that he incurred before I knew him get taken from my portion of our return? I was also responsible for paying most of the taxes paid as I worked a lot of hours at a much better job while he mostly stayed home with our baby due to being on job-attached unemployment. Needless 90% of our taxes paid came from my check. We are about to be homeless and I am beyond mad that I didn’t file separately.

What does this number mean? 76221-437-84817-5

You should see more 570 codes along with new information about how much money was taken back by the IRS to pay you. It could take several weeks.

You’re stuck at a 570 hold code, which means they are still processing your account.

Hopefully you’ve both seen more codes and movement by now.

Well, I have two reversals showing on my transcripts with date codes, but the first date was 20151405 which I read as meaning direct deposit on the 16th of April. That was five days ago. I didn’t click the box to have a paper check mailed, so am just wondering what is up.

I now have a 766 code states reversal of refund applied to non-IRS debt then there is a 290 additional tax assessed code, which has a zero amount, the next line is a 971 notice issued code. I have two sets of these as they reversed two offsets. The cycle dates are included on the 290 code lines. Under each of these is also a long set of numbers and which are also under my initial tax return filed line…

We are just desperate. I couldn’t get ahold of the tax advocates… A machine is constantly answering saying no one is in the office, with no way to leave a message. GRRRR

@ Jessica lee The last code of 570 on your transcripts is a freeze code. The date of 4/13 is the date the code was put on. It means your under review and it’s usually a 60 day review.

Looks like you’ll need to wait longer – they say 11 weeks to process before you should call for updates. Seems like most injured spouse forms update on Friday mid-morning. You should see a code for additional tax assessed or information pending (I know that one is 570) and it should give you an 846 to release any funds you might get back. Wait to see if the account balance updates to a negative amount, that should be what you’ll get back. As far as that numbers with dashes, no idea, irs stuff. :) good luck!

No this does not mean you are getting anything back you must wait 8-11 weeks from the date the Injured spouse was received. Wish you the best of luck.
