Just curious as to what happens if the government actually shuts down again on the 15th. Will we continue to process and receive our refunds or is everything paused?

If anything it will speed things along in my opinion. The irs has alluded on Twitter that it will get refundable out on time and it’s speculsted that they can only do this by cutting corners on things like audits and reviews, instead pushing them out. Please keep in mind this is just my own speculation. I don’t have any solid evidence for this but I simply see their statement as an implication that they’re gonna push them out.

Call me crazy lol it’s cool.

All I know is, I’m taking everything with a grain of salt, including the PATH laws. IMO this year is anything but predictable

If the government shuts down again it WILL NOT effect most taxpayers getting there refunds. Keep in mind most refunds are processed by computer. Where it can become a problem is if your return needs to be reviewed by human ..it could be delayed.
