Just wanted to make a topic for people to go to when they have been put under review and share their experiences.
Filed 1/12 HRB online. Accepted 1/30. I was processing 1/30,1/31, and 2/1 and finally updated to this:
We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed. You will receive a notice from us requesting additional information within 30 calendar days. You may not receive all or part of your refund until we receive and review the information we requested. If you need more information after you receive our notice, call the number on the notice.

Normal W-2 just EIC and Child tax credit. I’m guessing it’s a dependent review.February 2, 2013 at 10:14 am #5068
Same boat here, pray it changes, keep me postedFebruary 2, 2013 at 10:15 am #5069
Will do!February 2, 2013 at 11:13 am #5099
mine does not say anything about calling them, thats strange, i wonder if our situations differ… self employed one dependant. same fling aslat year.February 2, 2013 at 11:58 am #5110
My moms says the same thing and it doesn’t tell her to call but says she will get something in writing in 30 days. Last year the same thing happened to you and it was because of the first time home buyers creditFebruary 2, 2013 at 12:00 pm #5111
When was everyone’s initial filing date? Wonder if that has something to do with it.February 2, 2013 at 12:04 pm #5113
i filed on 23rd and accepted the 26th.
@blh, what happened last year did she lose her refund and did it cover the 8k?February 2, 2013 at 12:15 pm #5120
@ Denise she filed 25th was accepted 26th
@wtf She didnt loose her refund, she had to sign a paper she believes.. She pays 500 back every year out of her taxes for it, so that could be the issue also.February 2, 2013 at 12:43 pm #5131
hitney please check irs2go app. Mine says refund status sent/depoaited?!February 2, 2013 at 1:06 pm #5136
did they provide a date next to “sent/deposited:”? Otherwise it may still be under review pending additional information.February 2, 2013 at 1:50 pm #5144
yeah I jumped the gun there….February 2, 2013 at 4:09 pm #5182

For those of you that are being reviewed…..what type of return did you file and how much of a refund are you expecting? Did you itemize? Claim any special credits? Married, single, HOH, trying to find a common ground. Also who did you file with and when?February 2, 2013 at 4:45 pm #5193

Have any of you also been under review before?February 2, 2013 at 5:00 pm #5195
I filed with Turbotax, was accepted on Jan 24, plain 1040, however I did claim my daughter and grandson. Head of Household filing status. I got the same thing. They both lived with me from January 2012 to date.February 2, 2013 at 5:01 pm #5196
This happened to me last year as I had EIC and child tax credit, I called the IRS that day and the rep told me that everything was fine and it was set to be released on the orginal dd they had given me.February 2, 2013 at 8:37 pm #5221
yes every year they take out 500$ but say my refund is 1000 i could only efile on 500 as they would already pull that out, if that makes sense. Why do u owe this also?February 2, 2013 at 9:46 pm #5233
My situation is unique i think but yeah it possible they might think so.
What i am getting on the 800# says they mailed me something and they would like me to return the mail (probably with a signature) and I should get that within 30 days and nothing can happen til they receive the mail back. Sound like what happened last year? Thanks for your answers by the way:)February 2, 2013 at 10:04 pm #5243
Hopefully we all get them soon! She will be calling on monsay morning, so,i will defiantly postFebruary 3, 2013 at 12:27 am #5261

les, did you ever get the home buyers credit?February 3, 2013 at 2:13 am #5273
I pulled transcripts last night, not to see if this theory is right, but because I needed it for a loan. Anyway I got a deposit date tonight. 2 dependents, couple of w2′s, that’s it. No deductions or write offs, no home buyers credit. My tax return is almost identical as last year.February 3, 2013 at 6:01 am #5295
I efiled with TT on Jan 24th got accepted on the 27th. had a status bar saying it was recieved. a couple days later for the message “We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed. You will receive a notice from us requesting additional information within 30 calendar days. You may not receive all or part of your refund until we receive and review the information we requested. If you need more information after you receive our notice, call the number on the notice.

I filed Head Of Household 2 dependents, EIC and Child tax credit. My refund says about $8,000 im suppose to get back. What does this mean , am i seeing this and what kind of additional info do that need? sorry im stressed and have several ?’sFebruary 3, 2013 at 6:48 am #5303
would i be see this message if i owe child support?
i called the offset hotline and it says they took the child support out of my irs payment dated for feb 6th 2013. i havent gotten a DD date yet but the hotline says a future date. I wonder if i will see it in my bank that day.February 3, 2013 at 8:34 am #5316
It says all that on WMR?February 4, 2013 at 7:45 am #5470
Anyone called them yet to see what the IRS says? I’m afraid to call them.. I’ve heard they can be rude!February 4, 2013 at 8:10 am #5472
I’m currently waiting on hold to find out what’s going on with it..February 4, 2013 at 8:13 am #5473
TestFebruary 4, 2013 at 10:18 am #5478
Well I tried calling this morning and had absolutely no luck in finding out why I am under review. She just told me it’s too early to find out anything about my return. She wouldn’t even look up my info. Just told me to wait 3 weeks to see if my status updates. What the heck is the call center there for then if they can’t answer questions that are actually deemed important other than people calling trying to get a friggin’ DD date after filing hours ago! SMH. Hopefully something comes in the mail today. I don’t want this getting dragged out too long.February 4, 2013 at 12:07 pm #5489
Nothing in the mail today. :( If anyone else gets anything make sure to let us know! :)February 4, 2013 at 1:38 pm #5499
i filed on 1/28 accepted 1/29 processing for 4 days then went to review. Called IRS today and after talking the rep into looking up my return she said still processing. Not sure if this is accurate or not. I do have a schedule C, Filed HOH, and claim my nephew same as I did last year because I am his legal guardian with a court order. i have filed with a schedule C and W2 for the last 8 years never an issue.
Personally I have seen so many people comment on this review process I have no idea who is right, some say the review is generated by computer and may only cause a delay of a couple of days. Others say it can hold your refund for weeks or months.
Who knows????February 4, 2013 at 3:53 pm #5518
Anyone get a refund that has been in review. Last year it delayed my refund one week. Hoping for the same this year.February 4, 2013 at 4:50 pm #5540
I am getting all kinds of conflicting messages and dates from different and websites. WMR gives me this under review message, Irs2go says sent/deposited with no date or reference number, hotline gives me the WMR message, TurboTax says accepted, TurboTax mobile says it has been successfully acknowledged and you will receive your refund before 2/17 and mytaxrefund app says something else different. What a nightmare!February 4, 2013 at 6:41 pm #5569
So I called HRB Emerald card to see if I had any pending deposits and they didn’t see anything however they did say that I should receive something on the 8th and no later than the 15th sooo that’s good news if it’s true. A little is better than nothing!February 5, 2013 at 3:49 pm #5672
Nothing in the mail again today! :(February 5, 2013 at 4:53 pm #5680
I got a little bit of good news. I got what I paid in federal about an hr ago. Unfortunately they are still holding my EITC.February 5, 2013 at 5:02 pm #5686
Ok here is my situation. Got accepted on the 29, on the 1st got the dreadful msg Take action and I should receive a letter in the mail. On Sunday I had a deposit in my net spend card minus the EIC. So i called yesterday and talked to a very helpful rep. He said I should receive a letter in the mail stating that I have to prove that I have a right to claim for Eic. He didnt say when I will get the letter or how long it will take. Checked the mail and no letter yet. Really hoping it comes soon!February 6, 2013 at 1:54 am #5718
I’ve gotten a LTR 4464C letter that says my return is under review, and it might take up to 60 days to process. It said they may require additional information, but I don’t need to do anything yet. I used TT and filed on the 10th so my return was accepted quickly. The only problem is my return is delayed because of the Education Tax Credit delay until Feb 15th… From what I’ve read my return shouldn’t of been processed yet, and why I don’t understand why I even got a letter.February 6, 2013 at 4:37 am #5725
well I guess the review is for EIC and child tax credit at least for me, just noticed a deposit on my greendot card for only my federal taxes no EIC or CTC. load of BS, exact same filing as last year, I am the court ordered legal guardian of my nephew with a different last name. Filed with him last year with no issues F@@K all of those who file fraudulently with other peoples kids, you caused this BS with the IRS looking at legit filers and holding up my $$$$February 6, 2013 at 7:15 am #5737
Just received the Letter LTR4464C also today and may take up to 60 days to process. No special forms or anything though added.February 6, 2013 at 8:46 am #5755
Well I got what I paid in federal back but not the EIC so I’m guessing I have to provide documentation on it.February 6, 2013 at 9:00 am #5756
i filed 1/27 with taxact. was done processing on 1/31 and ordered the transcript. 2/4 wmr still showed 21 day processing message.
called irs on 1/4. he said my refund is on hold til 1/18 but cant see why. he said that it isnt for debt. he said no letter has been sent out. he said if everything is ok by 2/18 my refund will deposit.
called irs back on 2/6. lady says i an still on refund hold, give it til 1/18. she says no letter has been sent as of this date either.
wmr still shows return processing.
i assume its not an eic review because i havent got any refund of the taxes paid in, and irs says my entire refund is on hold.
did anyone here see any other message besides “your return is being processed. you should get your refund within 21 days”?February 6, 2013 at 9:12 am #5761
Filed with HRB and accepted on 1/30. Expecting a return of 4 grand
Went into review a couple days later and was able to order transcripts yesterday.
Before today HRB website could’nt find my return but now their website is saying i never even filed with them!
WMR hotline still says I am under review.
HRB hotline says my funds have been sent to my bank.
Checked my bank account and it shows a deposit of 200 bucks from HRB..
Idk what boat im in but its looking like the titanic.. A lot of big ass holesFebruary 6, 2013 at 9:14 am #5762
Looks like mosr ppl are getting a review message of some sort besides me? I am confused.February 6, 2013 at 9:17 am #5763
I going to assume this email I got this morning from TurboTax is from the funds I received yesterday. It says funds are on their way and I should have them by the next bussinss day. I’m not holding my breathe but the rest of my refund would be appreciative.February 6, 2013 at 9:19 am #5765
I’m seeing a lot of people having problems with HRB. I dont know if its solely their problem but i
wanna know how it went from a 4 Grand refund to only 200 bucksFebruary 6, 2013 at 9:19 am #5767
How long does it take to find out your under review? When your under review the WMR site is stating that?February 6, 2013 at 9:21 am #5768
My message on WMR is processing and waiting 21 days… I just received letter from IRS that I am under review yesterday. I submitted via Tax Act on 1/20 and accepted on 1/25.February 6, 2013 at 9:21 am #5770
Im not sure exactly, it shouldnt take more than 1 day of processingFebruary 6, 2013 at 9:27 am #5773
I have been proccessing since 1/31/12 but I haven’t received a letter yetFebruary 6, 2013 at 9:31 am #5776
I havent received a letter yet either but now wmr cant find my infoFebruary 6, 2013 at 9:42 am #5781
I had to call the irs before i knew there was an issue. neither rep i spoke with said i was under review. they just say there’s an issue and my refund is on hold til 2/18.February 6, 2013 at 11:32 am #5799
WMR gives the generic 21 day message
BUT after reading the different forums and having friends that filed after me already get their taxes I decided to call. Took me 3 reps til I found out we were placed under review they didn’t state why other than it was for my protection. Like other people I claimed the Childcare Tax Credit and this is the only year that our return is different. My husband is still in the military but I worked 2 jobs and we moved so my kids went to 2 daycares. Was expecting a large amount upward of 15k. No offsets reported for either one of us and the rep I spoke to said they were mailing a letter but I don’t need to do anything and it can take up to 60 days…bleh! This has never ever happened and I’m a little nervous, scared and concerned. I will keep everyone posted.February 7, 2013 at 6:07 am #5890
i filed & got accepted on 1/28th. since 1/30th as of now, i am showing as returned received & processing on wmr & the same on refund hotline. i have just received a 4464 c letter yesterday. i was told on here to not to worry if i got the letter and on wmr still shows as processing and not a specific error/irs ref code on the wmr. also was told along with my sis (the original owner of this username) earlier today on here to not to worry about it because they got their refund the same day they got their under review letter. she called irs about it and they told her that they have been getting quite a few calls about it but need not to worry because it was a glitch in the system that has been sending out letters. hopefully, that is the case.
i also can’t order my return transcript but i can order my acct transcript.February 7, 2013 at 7:17 am #5896
I’ve been under review since the 1st but I was able to order my transcripts and I received a deposit from HRB for 200 bucks
Yesterday, which is wayyy less than what my return is supposed to be, but now when I check their systems they don’t have any
info about my return at all. It’s like I never even filed with
Them. I’m still waiting for my letter but I really can’t imagine what would be wrong since I didn’t prepare them myself. I also can’t
Find anyone in the same situation as me so it’s an even shittier situationFebruary 7, 2013 at 7:46 am #5899
I have been under review since the 1st also but I am only able to order a account transcript and not the return transcript. I still get the processing and refund expected in 21 days. No error codes or anything and when I call I had to actually tell them I received the letter as the IRS agents told me everything looked fine with the return. The agent yesterday actually had to go look up the letter 4464c before he gave me the 6 to 8 week spill. Another agent told me he is supposed to say 6 to 8 weeks but it usually is alot faster than that time frame.February 7, 2013 at 7:58 am #5901
Have you seen anybody get the partial return?February 7, 2013 at 8:19 am #5902
I called my CPA and we conference called with the IRS Practioner Priority Services group in which they look up your return. I was flagged because of the size of the refund. He said nothing looks out of order just a code that slows up the return if someone wants to take a look at it hence the letter issued by the system.
He says I started processing on the 28th even though the 25th was the acceptance date I received. He said the refund is still scheduled to be disbursed within the 21 day time frame and nothing to be alarmed about. He said this letter is just the systems way to slow up the process to allow additional time IF someone wants to take a look at it. If it goes beyond the 21 days then there will be another letter but NO manual review right now and no flags outside of this code. Hope that gives everyone a little hope.February 7, 2013 at 8:27 am #5905
i checked my papers and the deposit that i received came out to be the exact amount of my Federal
Withholdings minus the fees HRB was supposed to take out. Does this mean im one of the lucky ones
that is getting a real audit instead of it being a computer error?February 7, 2013 at 8:31 am #5906
hackney2009 – Not sure but you would receive a letter stating you are being Audited if that was the case.
Remember that if anyone is experiencing a financial hardship due to the delay of their refund they can call the Tax Advocate group which is a free service to represent you and expedite or if not expedite at least research your situation more as they will act as your liason with the IRS during the process of the review.
The number is listed on the letter 4464c 1-877-777-4778February 7, 2013 at 8:41 am #5907
Ok thanks for the help deuce1911. Its really appreciated.February 7, 2013 at 11:07 am #5926
WMR is showing processing, should receive refund within 21 days still today. No error codes or anything. Still haven’t received any mail from the irs. I am starting to think the hold on my refund was caused by a system error. My hold is scheduled to be released 2/18.February 7, 2013 at 1:17 pm #5947

@duece1911 Thank you so much for this helpful information!!! My refund is $3405, I’m wondering if I was flagged because that amount. Is your refund close to my amount?February 7, 2013 at 1:18 pm #5948
also not to confuse anyone lol….i’m the sister of this username. my sis got her refund already.February 7, 2013 at 1:26 pm #5949
2013taxpayer : my refund was higher.. it was funny though I called yesterday when I received the letter monday evening and they could not find anything wrong with my return. I just played dumb and asked questions. Then when I told them about the letter they put me on hold and finally found the code.
When I was with my CPA today on the conference call today on the line he called they answered the call in less than 2 minutes… asked for his ID information and mine and looked at everything we asked them to. The person we spoke with said the code is nothing to be alarmed and basically just holds the funds in case someone wants to look at the return. He was searching for a reason why the return would of been held and then he asked how much it was for and when I told him over $7000 he then said that was the reason due to the high dollar amount. Said I should still receive it within the 21 day time frame like WMR is stating from the 28th which for me would be 2/18.February 7, 2013 at 3:03 pm #5960
Deuce1911 what questions did you ask? I want to call and try to get some answers for myself but I don’t want to get railroaded
Just because I don’t know what I’m talking about. Also I posted on the IGMR Facebook page and a lady told me the problem is
That I filed my niece and they just want to verify that she lives with me. I’m a first time filer so all of this is new to me.February 7, 2013 at 3:11 pm #5961
hackney2009: 1st objective is to try to get them to open your file and look at it. Ask them that you just wanted to check to see if you have any errors or any debt indicators/offsets, flags, or under manual review on your file. They have to look at your return to find that information out. Once they have your file open then you can ask what you really want to know. If your refund was reduced then at that point ask them about the reduction and if they can tell you why the reduction.
Sometimes it takes multiple calls to get someone that is willing to help as many of them are trained to be rude and not open your file.February 7, 2013 at 3:14 pm #5962
Also like someone else mentioned I have had far greater success with the men looking up my file. I usually try to ask them how their day is going and engage in some conversation while they are looking up my info (ie. weather, where they are located, sports, etc).February 7, 2013 at 3:23 pm #5963
Ok thanks for all the help. I’m gonna call tomorrow morning and post what info I find out. Hopefully it’s good newsFebruary 7, 2013 at 4:17 pm #5969
filed 24th accepted 26th…there are a lot of 26ers being reviewedFebruary 7, 2013 at 6:38 pm #5973
I received this letter today it was very general and nothing specific as to why I am under review… I’m glad to know I am not the only one… Now for some reason my State (MI) has been pending acceptance since the 30th but today for some reason it was approved. As for my info
WMR Still processing no error codes at all
I have Ed Credit (Delayed till Mid Feb) CTC and profit and loss from self employment W2′s and a over 7k refund amount… I hope there is some info soon…. I was reading on the TT site last year this happen to ALOT of people… i filed though TA will post back when I get more InfoFebruary 7, 2013 at 9:58 pm #5987
Ok, here’s my story:
Used Turbotax. Filed 1/24, accepted 1/26. 1 W-2, EIC with 3 kids, same as last 3 years.
WMR and hot line have been processing ever since. No codes or review messages.
I called yesterday and the rep wasn’t helpful, said they didn’t get my return on 1/26, that they got it 1/31. Said everything looked ok, just give it 3 weeks (21 days).
Called again this morning since I still didn’t get an update on WMR, rep looked and said I had a hold on my return but she didn’t know why. She didn’t see any codes or anything and said they haven’t mailed out a letter. If they need anything they will mail one out but just figure 45 days before its released!
So I called this afternoon to see if another rep seen something different. Nope, it’s under review, she doesn’t know why. I may get a letter, maybe, if they need info. I asked her why WMR doesn’t say I’m under review and she said its not accurate.
I am soooo annoyed with this whole thing!February 8, 2013 at 2:50 pm #6043
i don’t even wanna try and call. i know i’m gonna lose my temper and they’re just doing their job. wmr still says processing and when i call refund hotline it’s the same message. still no error code or irs ref code on wmr or hotline.February 8, 2013 at 3:59 pm #6047
Okay here’s my two cents not that it really means anything on the 1st of Feb I ordered a account transcript for 2012 could not order the return transcript cause I have the education credit which as we all found out does not process until Feb 14 so How can I get a transcript on a year that hasn’t happen yet… for me anyways… what I am thinking is I received the letter because of the delay of the 8863… there is no code on the letter or the hotline or WMR….I am still and have been since the 23rd processing… I AM NOT calling cause all they do is give me the run around… My patiences is way to then right now for that… now I could be totally wrong about this theory but… I wont know for sure till next week…. I will keep you posted on what happens…February 8, 2013 at 4:38 pm #6049
I’m under review…filed the 30th, accepted the 30th as per the IRS. I just called, and was told that I’m under review, and it should only last approx. 7 more days. Same return as the past 10 years. Self Employed, 2 dep, HOH, EIC. In fact, My return is about the same as last year, and the past few years.February 8, 2013 at 4:42 pm #6051
impatientlywaiting: That coincides with what the agents where telling me. Two different agents stated I should still receive my refund in the 21 day time frame from the date it started processing on the 28th. We shall see as the 28th day if they include weekends will be the 2/17 as I know 2/18 is a holiday.February 8, 2013 at 4:54 pm #6053
The lady I talked to today says the updates in the processing system caused some returns to be kicked to review for no reason at all. When she looked at my account, she went line-by-line and say no codes or flags. After having me on hold for about ten minutes, she came back on the line, said she removed the hold on my refund, and placed my account back into the normal refund delivery system. She said I should be able to see my direct deposit date in a couple days.
If you have been told by an IRS agent that you are under review, or that your refund is on hold, ask to be connected to the “holds department”. They can tell you more than the regular reps, and they have the power to make changes on your account.February 8, 2013 at 5:01 pm #6054
I tried to call 3 times yesterday they won’t tell me nothing even called the holds department for info he was very nice said that they could only look up my info for 2011….WMR stills says this for me
We have received your tax return and it is being processed.
You should get your refund within 21 days from the date we received your tax return.
Please check here or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go, to check on your refund status.
I also still have not received my account transcript as of today…. one week later… maybe it will come Monday or maybe just maybe (praying) that’s what the letter about… it had no code to reference to at all…. I decided not to call until this whole delay of the 8836 form has been settled…Also after I got the letter I went flipping google search crazy and A LOT of people using TT are getting the letter and the codes on WMR… I’m just praying for good news for ALL of us…February 8, 2013 at 5:03 pm #6055
@roy Great news! What number did you call?February 8, 2013 at 5:04 pm #6056
The lady I talked to was very nice. She said it COULD take the extra 7 days…but didn’t let on that it was anything serious. I went as far as asking if I needed to start making copies of all my receipts and parent payments (I have had a daycare for many many years).
Has anyone gotten their refund even though they’ve been reviewed?February 8, 2013 at 5:09 pm #6057
I found a number for the Refund Hold Department just in case anyone else would like to call it is 1-866-897-3315. Please keep us posted everyone :)February 8, 2013 at 5:26 pm #6058
Yep, the number I called is the one mrsdaw posted above. BTW, thank you mrsdaw. :)February 8, 2013 at 5:42 pm #6059
I called today and actually got a nice rep on the first try. She checked my info and told me the small deposit I received was just my federal withholding. (Which I already figured). She then told me I technically wasn’t under review but my return was pulled because I filed my niece and she was filed by someone else last year. She said my return was in a pile and it’s a possibility it will be examined by a IRS agent within 90 days!! She said its also a possibility that they would kick it out and send out my refund but for right now my return is in some kind of retarded IRS limbo state. Long story short: I’m pretty much fucked until they decide they’re done with meFebruary 8, 2013 at 5:49 pm #6060
I highly advise everyone to call that number. I spoke with a Ms. Garcia who was a sweetheart and she was very helpful. She stated that the IRS has a new system this year and for that system they accepted a few returns as a test. [I was accepted on the 24th] Those returns accepted as a test were just that a test, by no means was that your actual acceptance date since they did not begin processing until the 30th. So the test subjects returns fully went through the system and were assigned a number and then when they opened the flood gates on the 30th they were sent back through for what they call re-sequencing. That triggered the 4464c letter. She looked over my return line by line and told me there were no red flags and that it was actually being processed she even verified my banking information to make sure there would be no hold ups when the time comes around. I thanked her so much because I have gotten nothing but jerks on the line unwilling to assist. She also stated that if you were really up for review your WMR would update to say that along with an error code. If you were accepted early I would assume maybe you are in the same category as me but it always feels better to hear that for yourself so call call call and goodluck everyone. I will keep you all posted and I ask that you do the same. Have a great weekend!February 8, 2013 at 5:53 pm #6061
Here is our story so far:
Filed on the 1/16 (HRB) IRS accepted it 1/30 was able to order both transcripts on 2/4. Still said processing on 2/5 so we called. They told us everything looked fine and that it was still processing give it until 2/20 and call back. Called again yesterday to see what was going on and if we could get a DDD. They lady told us it was under review. We didn’t do anything wrong, NO letter had been sent out. No codes were given. She also couldn’t give us an average time it takes to review.
My question is: If we aren’t getting a letter, or error codes then what is going on?February 8, 2013 at 5:59 pm #6063
@mrsdaw thanks for the info…I am still going to wait till something updates after the 14th I have a 8863 and a profit and loss from self employment which were delayed this year… I will keep you all posted on what happens…. I also just want to say thank you all for your help and support with out it i know I would be loosing my mind…February 8, 2013 at 6:00 pm #6064
OK ONCE MORE I GOT A 4464C LETTER THIS AFTERNOON IN THE MAIL SPOKE TO IRS THIS MORNING THEY SAID I HAVE NO ISSUES AND Where’s My Refund (WMR) AN HOT LINE SAYS PROCESSING 21 DAY STUFF WHAT SHOULD I THINKFebruary 8, 2013 at 6:04 pm #6065
I was also accepted WAY early also I got my accepted letter from TA on the 23rd…February 8, 2013 at 6:07 pm #6066
so if i just leave it alone will it still be processed no matter what? is that what they’re saying? we need to call in to have them remove the hold?February 8, 2013 at 6:17 pm #6069
I’m going to just leave it alone at least until this 8863 issue is resolved… now if you didnt claim that form by all means check to see what is going on… also check the its.gov site for other forms that have been delayed the check your return to see if you have them…February 8, 2013 at 6:34 pm #6073
@Holly Although I can’t give you a 100% answer I would say to read both mine and royjb post, seems like in his case he actually had to get a hold removed and in my case the hold was just for testing and was already lifted.
@kay I was loosing my mind up until I hung up the phone with Ms. Garcia, I have been researching like crazy, becoming OCD with WMR and trying to order transcripts I was even reading stuff from 2009
@taxpayer if you have a hold on your return that is not related to any of the current tax delays like 8863 then I would certainly call the hold line and see what they say it’s a lot better than worrying I know it made me feel so much better
For the meantime I think I will give my stalking ways up at least until Monday Morning lol.February 8, 2013 at 6:56 pm #6076
@mrsdaw I was too started crying… my apartment was broken into a few months ago and me and my son lost everything… they even stole his under ware…so this money could help us buy our very first home… I started googling info on the letter and found out about the codes attached… went over the letter with a fine tooth comb trying to find a code but it wasn’t any… thought that was weird so I started calling… got the wait till answer and the info i stated from the hold dept… thought about what I did and the transcript thing was what I came up with… not saying I am right but if I know there is a hold cause of the delay it would stand to reason that they sent the generic letter out to cover the time it takes for processing… so as long as WMR states… processing with no code or says that I am officially under review… I’m not going to call just yet….plus the fact that every one is flooding the IRS line with I want my DD and where is my check questions I’ll just wait… Me and my lil man can ride this storm out for a little longer… praying for all of us to get our $$$February 8, 2013 at 7:33 pm #6078
hello all I have been reading the post and when mrsdaw posted the number 18668973315 I called because I filed on Feb. 1st and was accepted Feb. 1 but I have not been able to access wheres my refund. when I called I got a nice lady that told me my refund was accepted on the 4th not the 1st and it was scheduled to be DD on Feb. 13 and no later than Feb. 25 so if you want to know the status just call.February 8, 2013 at 9:07 pm #6086
@Kay wow that sucks I’m sorry to hear that but I know your money is coming and you guys will be in your home sooner than you know :)
@Monet that’s great news! The number I posted the people seem generally much knowledgeable, nicer and willing to assist.February 8, 2013 at 9:46 pm #6091
I filed 1/30 IRS received 1/31 was showing Orange bar until 2/6 and has shown “still processing “ever since. I have talked to three reps all who said I had no red flags or off sets. I just spoke to someone earlier today that said everything was fine. Received a letter today dated 2/4 saying I was under review…WMR never said any error codeFebruary 8, 2013 at 9:50 pm #6093
Inshallah1 what did the letter say and do you know if it was a letter cp05?February 8, 2013 at 10:18 pm #6097
man, i don’t have the patience to be on hold lolFebruary 9, 2013 at 5:33 am #6107
@ bigtimeny1…no I don’t see anything ref cp504…its seems to be a rather generic letter saying basically that I am under review and the IRS is stepping up measures to prevent fraud.
Only thing I can think that would triggering this is that I have a different employer after 7 yrs of the sameFebruary 9, 2013 at 5:48 am #6108
I have noticed that alot of people who were pulled into review have had the exact SAME tax returns the past few years! This makes me angry. Especially when you call and they tell you there are no red flags, and no letter sent out.
