I’m to this new forum, I was hoping someone was in a similar situation and could offer some advice. I defaulted on my student loans, though they are in rehabilitation, only about 5-6 months in. I filed an injured spouse claim with my husband as the injured spouse via turbo tax 4/11 as we file jointly. All my federal and state forms were accepted on 4/12. On 4/23 I received an unexpected DD of a state refund in it’s entirety from one of the two states I lived in which prompted me to obsessively check WMR. I did have status bars for a few days. The bars are now gone and replaced with “your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available” When I log in from my computer, I still see a refund amount. Same with state #2. Should I remain hopeful that we may actually receive something this year? Since I filed the injured spouse form with my return in April should I not expect anything til late June or July? I’ve not been able to speak with someone at the IRS and all automated systems just tell me processing. I was able to find an offset calendar via google and it seems the offset cycle for when I filed has passed again making me feel hopeful. I also haven’t received any sort of offset notification yet. I did request an IRS transcript, hoping it’ll come early next week and will give me some more insight. Thanks for reading and any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.
