Just tell them you are wanting to check on the status status of your injured spouse claim. When did you file your IS form?

I call their number at 1-800-829-1040 and click 1 or 2 for the language. Then after the responses, I pick 2-1-3-2 and when it asks for your ss# don’t type anything the 2 times that it asks and it will redirect you to a agent. You might have to wait between 10-30 minutes before an agent will speak to you, but that is my usual waiting time.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if so when did they receive their check in the mail?

I have a new update for everyone.. I called on 7/9 and the agent I spoke with said that my claim was done and my return was being processed, but no release date was posted yet so he asked me to wait a week or two before calling again. Before he got off the call I asked if it would be sent DD or by check and he said DD if I filed that way…[Read more]

    • I’m sorry I don’t have answer for you. But I want to know, what exact number did you call to get this info.?
Every time I call, they tell me they can’t tell me anything more than whether its being processed or amended…..things I can find out on my own online.
They told me I have to call after 16 wks. for any more info. yet I’m afraid something…[Read more]

They received and accepted my IS on 3/12. Been a journey, but I am glad it is coming to an end. Hopefully. WMR hasn’t updated yet and probably won’t. I’m going to call again on Monday if I haven’t gotten my mailed transcripts or a refund day yet. It should be posted in their system by then.

Called the IRS this morning and they said that my refund was pending and it should be released in 2 weeks so that is great news!

    • That’s awesome, I’m happy for anyone that makes it through this awful process! How long has it been for you? When did they receive your form?

I’ve got a question for anyone that might know or maybe could help me.. I called the BFS a few weeks ago while waiting for my Injured Spouse claim to be worked and it says, “You currently have 1 offset in the amount of $0000.00, for more information of this debt please contact the BOE.” When I called this morning it said, “You currently have 1…[Read more]

I wanted to create an account to tell my journey with IS so far. I e-filed my return on 1/29 and it was accepted 1/30. 2/22 I got a notice that my return was being offset on WMR. 2/27 I sent in my IS form and it was received and accepted on 3/12. I called the IRS on 4/30 to check the status of my IS and the lady said that she was putting in a 30…[Read more]

    • Wow, what an awful experience. If the IRS was a company I did business with, I would switched companies a long time ago! Lol! We all need to compile all of our stories in to a pdf and each of us should send it to our state representitives.
