    • Just spoke to a TA to see what is going on, I let him know I didn’t want to burden him with more of a caseload by opening a case if it is in the works so he opened up my account and saw the 570, He told me I am just extremely unlucky and I managed to snag one of the many useless 570s going out to tax payers this year. He said that there are no errors and it processed just fine and it is done processing but the system threw a 570 on it and it is now sitting on someone’s desk waiting for them to take off the 570 and issue the refund. I let him know that trannies all updated last week and he said that was the 2nd time they sent it through and that it was approved but that pesky 570 remained so it was sent to some other department to have the refund released. They opened my file up on Tuesday the 17th to check it into that department but other than that it is just sitting in a stack on someone’s desk waiting for them to hit the refund now button.

I opted to not open up a TA case because I am basically just waiting for them to click a button to release it. Opening up a case freezes everything in itself until the TA can asses the situation and it would probably delay it longer… so again I wait.

    • I filed my taxes with H&R block online. It pulled my previous years information. I changed my name during the middle of the year, but noticed today, a week after filing, that although I changed my name and it carried over everywhere else, it did not carry over to the section where it’s asked for my health care act exemption code (whatever it’s called). It has my social, the code, and my first and maiden name, rather than married name. Anyone know if this is going to be a big issue?

    • @What in the WORLD: Hello long time lurker! Thanks for joining, we don’t bite (well most of us…lol) That’s odd that HRB and TT are giving you 2 different results, but I hear that a lot from people….doesn’t make sense to me because the rules are the rules (what I tell my kids). Is there anything different you entered between the 2 by mistake? EITC qualifying child rules should be consistent between HRB and TT.

The rules are here with some other helpful links at the bottom: http://igotmyrefund.com/earned-income-tax-credit-qualifying-child-rules/
