Filed 1/25 accepted 1/26. Has been on “there is a delay in processing” for 2 weeks. Called when I first got the notice and they had said it was because I filed injured spouse and the EIC. She did say my IS form had not been scanned in, I call today because it has been over 21 days, and I was told it has been assigned to someone and will take 11…[Read more]

It ask for credit card or mortgage account number to verify. It doesn’t charge, but I have neither. Lol. Wish it were that easy for me though!

Thanks Stacey, I’ll wait my 5-10 business days lol.

Which transcript do you order? Account or refund? I ordered refund and received it but it was pretty much just an overview of my refund. No codes or dates. So this time I ordered account. I have to mail it because I don’t have a credit card or anything of the sort.

      Your account transcipts

    • Didnt know you needed a credit card to order it. I can view mine online whenever I want from the irs site.

They aren’t processing returns with EICs until after the 15th of this month, Due to the path law and that they are trying to cut down on fraudulent people claiming eic. So possibly 21 days after that?

    Hopefully they paid you interest!

I know :( I read somewhere that if it takes longer than 14 weeks they start paying interest. Some people were getting as much as 506$ in interest. It’s a bunch of bull.. it’s our money!!

Or longer! Lol. Like 6 months and the irs will pay you interest. Idk why it takes so dang long!! This is my first year as well. In your situation I believe you get all your portion from the income you made. I have found EITC calculators online and put in just my income to see what I would get back. I didn’t make nearly enough to get back as much…[Read more]

Read some of the others comments on this thread. Generally if you’re the only income you’ll be the one getting you’re whole refund back most likely. I only say most likely because I don’t want to say you will and something happen. He will get his portion and you will get yours unless you live in a community property state then it’s 50/50. It takes…[Read more]

(I’m just going to use random numbers in this comment since I know that you’re not supposed to share actual dollar amounts)

So say our EITC is 5xxx.xx and our CTC is 2xxx.xx since we filed jointly and our total refund is 9xxx.xx with a back child support debt of 7xxx.xx. I would get half the EITC and half of the CTC? My income is a quarter of…[Read more]

This is my first time filing MFJ and IS. Im just curious to know since I have filed the EITC and I believe there is a tax credit we received for filing joint. Will I receive all of this back on my portion? We don’t live in a community property state. My taxes are delayed as well, but that is because of the EITC and IS form.

    • If you had no debt and you are the injured spouse you will recieve your portion of the money. What ever the credit is half is yours. My case is I work my hubby is a stay at home dad. He has child support. I am the injured spouse so I get half my credit with all my taxes. None of it goes to his debt.
