First time here and first time IS……Long story, but I mailed in the IS three times certified and signature required and evidently all three were misplaced, as every time I called to check on status, they would tell me “well, we don’t see an IS form attached to your account”. Frustrated, I called again and again and finally last week I got this nice lady that works in the IS dept. She believed my story about having mailed it three times and said, “you know what, I’m going to set up a case for you right now and give you my fax number. Please fax it to me.” Which, of course, I did right away. Then on Monday, if you can believe this, SHE actually called ME at my office by tracking down the phone number off of my sent fax to say that she needed me to send one more unrelated item, which I quickly did.

Anyway, she said that when a case is established and all paperwork is in hand, which it now is as of Monday, that the IRS advises that it takes 45 days from that point to receive funds – but I got the feeling that she thought it might be quicker, especially since she seems to be taking an interest in my plight. Currently, my WMR still says Tax Topic 203, Refund Offsets, etc, but I’m hoping that will change soon. Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.
