Its 2018 and finished my taxes. I know that the IRS isn’t accepting returns until 01/29/2018 and earned income will not be until after 2/15, but that doesn’t matter, as now the waiting game begins. Good luck to all my fellow injured spouse filers. Let’s hope this year goes smoother and quicker, YEAH I know WISHFUL THINKING! But a person can dream

    • So do you know if that means our time starts after 2-15 or on 1-29 (if we have EIC)?

Hi to all my fellow IS filers. Did my taxes, now just in for the long wait. I also filed for the EIC and now the IRS says those won’t be refunded until after Feb. 15. I sure hope that does not mean the refund will be any longer than usual. But we will see. Well good luck to all you people. This sight has kept my mind straight. This is…[Read more]

    • I filed Saturday online and it says waiting acceptance. Then I made some updates on Monday so now it’s saying filed on Monday. I’m still waiting for acceptance. Not sure what’s taking so long this year. I tried going a week earlier this year to not have to wait as long. Oh well hope it gets accepted soon. Good luck and get ready.

To all those wondering how long to get refund. Case closed on 3/11 (fri). Check was sent out on Fri. 4/1. So 3 weeks exactly. Mine was offset so it had to be reversed. If not offset maybe sooner?

jess did you call to make sure they got ur IS?: When i call i just tell them that i can not use wmr to check because nothing shows. I found that if you sometimes talk really super nice to them, then you can get more info. good luck. I filed 1/14 and sent is on 1/18 which they said was rec on 1/22. for some reason the early filers have been pushed…[Read more]

On the phone now, told her when I called a while back should have refund in 1 to 2 weeks. Just got off phone and was told it is scheduled to be mailed out 4/1. Said if did not rec. by 4/15. To call back. Hope it gets here real soon. So Friday it is being mailed out. Anyone here get a check and if so how long did it take to get it. Some insight…[Read more]

Just wondering if those with IS file later is why they get their refund so late.

    • I don’t think it necessarily depends on if you file IS after. It depends more on the actual date you file. Also a lot of it depends on the individual who works your IS. I think some do them out of order and place new ones on top of their older ones. That’s all just my opinion though.

I think if I have time before work tomorrow, I am going to call and just tell them what the first guy said. Refund was pending and should get in 1 to 2 weeks. Now going on week 3. He said my IS was finished on 3/11. This is so ridiculous. Then I saw somewhere on here that someone posted because this is the peak season for taxes, we are…[Read more]

    • My Is was closed 3-15 and finally yesterday I spoke with someone in IS Dept who told me a refund date of April 11th, but that there may also be a delay and the check may not mail until the 18th. I feel your frustration, it doesn’t make any sense to me that if it’s closed and approved that it would 4-5 weeks to simply issue the refund!

  • chris posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 2 years, 7 months ago

Wow, just checked WMR and now it says return received and it is being processed. So maybe soon I will get a DDD date. Mine is taking a while tho. Former was completed on 3/11. But at least there is some progress. Possibly could still see my money next week

Long story short. Called this morning told they were working on refund date. If I asked for DDD then I should get DD. said WMR, likely won’t update. So if nothing by 4/5, call back. Offset line no longer says was offset, but could offset as of last week. I sure hope to get something soon. All us early filers have been pushed to the bottom of the pile.

Tara, thanks for the info. That’s probably what it is. So since I closed on 3/11 it would be either this week or next, since he did say 1 to 2 weeks.

    The offset number is 800-304-3107

  • chris posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 2 years, 7 months ago

How is everybody who’s calling offset line getting a date? In the begining it said it was offset for $××××× dollars on 2/ 3, and now it just says could be offset, but no date of when.

    • The offset number is 800-304-3107

    • I think that is people that had more than one debt. For instance the injured spouse, the one that worked and didnt have the BIG debt, might have like a $500 child support debt or something else and then they STILL plan to take their portion and give the other portion back to the IS. does that make sense?

Meant ssn not son. Sorry just got off work and I tired

  • chris posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 2 years, 7 months ago

Did not get an update. WMR and the refund number still says refund was offset. But at least I know that it was finished on 3/11. Called weds. 3/16 and was told it would take about 1 to 2 weeks. At least the offset line is back to we found 1 debt under your son and tax refund could be offset. So it is just a matter of wait for the best and hope…[Read more]

Meant 1 debt found and could be offset. So it’s been reversed.

    • the offset line has always said that for me, it never once changed or gave any amount. Filed and accepted 1-20 and still waiting.

  • chris posted an update in the group Injured Spouse 2 years, 7 months ago

Just checked WMR it says currently unavailable. Sure would be nice to wake up to a DDD. But I doubt it. It’s just nice knowing my for was completed 3/11 and offset says 1 debt found.
