If an individual owes money to the federal government because of a delinquent debt, the Treasury Department can offset that individual’s federal payment or withhold the entire amount to satisfy the debt.

Anyone with 896 & 570 transaction codes on your transcript, please post here. Let’s update each other.

So my fiance finally had his transcripts show up this morning, and he was approved for his refund. We both filed the same ACA crap on the same day, so I am not sure why mine is being held up, but his has gone through. Not feeling good about this.January 30, 2015 at 7:01 am #4097445
Anyone else feel like calling the IRS today to try to get a straight answer? I have to work all day or I so would, but I know the hold time would be killer. I wonder if their call centers are open on Saturdays? One of my issues is that most of these reps are really uninformed. My boyfriend called a few months back and was stuck on the phone with a lady who seemed to know nothing for hours, and she seemed smart as a box of rocks. Lol. I got my state today which was bitter sweet. I was really hoping for a change today. I wish someone would give us straight answer on how long this ACA penalty is going to delay us. This is driving me NUTS!January 30, 2015 at 6:48 am #4097435
No change here and I’m beginning to worry.. I wont go full mode until next Friday if nothing changes…January 30, 2015 at 6:23 am #4097424
No change here, either. Now I don’t know much about the updates and cycles really, but nothing really updated after acceptance until this past Monday for me. That was when I could view my transcripts. If our 570 codes did fall off, would that have shown today? I see a few people on the main feed who don’t have the 570 code and their transcripts aren’t updated today either. Maybe we will see a change on Monday. I’d still like to know if anyone who had the healthcare penalty has gotten a DDD at all since filing began.January 30, 2015 at 6:14 am #4097420
i am not feeling good about this at all and it is pissing me off.January 30, 2015 at 5:38 am #4097409
@rich2: i used taxact. there goes that theory! only irs would know why the heck they froze our refunds after it is done processing.
@*Christi*: yeah…i wonder if they do consider today as the 4th day? someone called yesterday and had a nice lady helping her for over an hour and was told that the 4 day expiration will not be applied to the ACA fine situation. That it should be removed by 2-11th and if it isn’t we can call in by 2-11th to push them to remove the freeze.January 30, 2015 at 5:19 am #4097396
Ok, so I was one of the many who assumed that having a 20150402 cycle, even though there are also the 896/570 codes, meant I would get my DD today. After reading all the comments I was certain it would be since there is the 4 day drop off. Is it possible that today is actually considered the 4th day? And also, does anyone out there have a different cycle with the 896/570 codes with better luck?January 30, 2015 at 5:12 am #4097391
I’m starting to wonder about this 570 896 thingy..I’m almost positive my son did his taxes with me watching using tax act and that was on the 25th he has a DDD of 1/31 with 2 bars(2 days ago) but no DD amount he had the penalty!!! his 2 bars didn’t show a amount but did say amount adjusted>>>>>> NOW I had to show him how to do his this yr I don’t recall Tax act deducting his like my turbo tax did starting to wonder if it Turbo tax or is it parents with kids that didn’t have insurance? my 2 are young 20’college so I still claim them.. frustrated hmm just thinking. Because I have been able to check all scripts since Monday 896/570 20150402 amount on top refund figure showssssss refund with amount after penalty and 570 has 00.00 my 896 has the 190 they pulled.. seems like every yr they hold a certain group I believe it’s a sick way the goverment can keep drawing interest on our $$ to help pay others lol….Truthfully I wanted to just hit the dam yes we all had insurance all yr (to dam honest lol) if I did I could of been enjoying $$ this a.m. prob take them months or yrs to find out?? how would they really know?? especially when were all covered now? is this poss. a honor system thing? how many of you almost said screw it because they had that 1 thought of i could use that extra 200 lolJanuary 30, 2015 at 5:05 am #4097386
@rich2: wmr did go down but no updates for me and seen other 896/570’ers with no updates either. No changes either in transcripts. :( hoping for some kinda good news this weekend.January 30, 2015 at 4:59 am #4097382
is anything down? i have no action in bank,trans,or tracker ughhhJanuary 30, 2015 at 4:58 am #4097381January 30, 2015 at 4:54 am #4097378

*ty*: over one stupid codeJanuary 30, 2015 at 3:43 am #4097346
I give up. This is beyond stupid. There is no reason for this at all….January 30, 2015 at 2:24 am #4097329January 30, 2015 at 2:11 am #4097322
Okay I’ve been reading the post and you guys are giving me some hope. Lol I filed on 1/20 and my WMR is still on it’s been received… Now I have the codes 766,768, and then 570 with 0.00… My cycle is 20150402. I hope it’s coming soon. Y’all I have been losing sleep over this. Lol. Last year I got my refund within 9 days. I was sure hoping to luck up this year. Nothing has changed except extra income and the healthcare. Well I’ll keep you guys updated and I hope we all get our money very soon!! :-)January 30, 2015 at 2:04 am #4097320January 30, 2015 at 2:01 am #4097319
@2013taxpayer I see your response now. Yea I don’t want to worry about it to much, but when someone has money that belongs to me and my hubby, I don’t take lightly to not having updates. I think if they would just give us a dang DDD it would feel better. I mean if I got to wait til Wednesday, next Friday, or my 21st day of the 10th, FINE. Just tell me when you gonna let me have it.January 30, 2015 at 1:57 am #4097318January 30, 2015 at 1:56 am #4097317
@whathappened: i am trying to give it til next wednesday but it’s sooooooo hard! that’s why i have been staying away from here lol. seeing people gettingg their money especially filing after me is driving me bonkers hahaha. even knowing i will get it soon….i am going nuts too lol.January 30, 2015 at 1:52 am #4097316
No.Nope.Nothing.Nada.Zip.Zilch………………. LOL UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I been reading more manual and other forums. I still feeling confident its coming, but I am tired, and losing my mind tonight.January 30, 2015 at 1:40 am #4097310January 29, 2015 at 10:59 pm #4097246
Don’t worry!! We will get it soon enough!January 29, 2015 at 9:40 pm #4097196
I hope that’s not all true haha. We have tax liabilities every year because we only claim the child tax credit and standard deductions. We make too much for EIC. So for them to review because we don’t get that large of a refund and they get to keep half of our taxes paid does not make sense.January 29, 2015 at 9:30 pm #4097191
It seems I am one more person added to the boat. I have a positve number next to code 150, a negative number next to 806, a negative number next to 896, and $0.00 next to 570 :/
The refund balance at the top reflects the penalty taken out already.
So 150 plus 896 minus 806 = my refund amount.
Hope it drops off and I’m not in review :(
Is any one else’s like this?January 29, 2015 at 7:39 pm #4097130
@whathappened: i have 0.00 on both the 150 and 570. credit (-) amount on both the 766 and 768. balance amount on the 896. i also have a credit balance on my account balance.
i really think we are gonna see it soon just like you have always said.January 29, 2015 at 7:29 pm #4097122
I know I said it a few times on the main forum, but for anyone just getting these codes, I’ll say it again.
If you have code TC 896 & TC 570 ONLY, they are directly related to each other, and will not cause an extended delay like an actual review does.
However if you have – TC 570 without the TC 896
TC 570 with TC 896 and a balance due next to TC 150 (return filed and tax liabilities assessed)
TC 570 with TC 896 and other debt codes (debt codes are codes that have a positive balance next to them. Codes with a negative balance are refundable credits or in other words your refund)
These scenarios may indicate that they are taking more action on your account, other than dealing with the healthcare penalty. If you have one of these scenarios, you may be in a situation, where they are actually reviewing your account, and it may delay it significantly.January 29, 2015 at 7:10 pm #4097110

Holy Shnikey! I have a pulse…I mean my refund has a pulse!January 29, 2015 at 7:02 pm #4097096
@widget Thank you for the clarification! That makes more sense. I do not have a code 971 so that gives me hope that the fact I may be “review” is BS…I hope!January 29, 2015 at 6:58 pm #4097093
Maybe we will see a update tonight???????????January 29, 2015 at 6:56 pm #4097091
@widget: hehe….i just joined!! very helpful group indeed!
She said that there is no freeze on anyones account. The IRS is using 570 to make sure the penalty comes out of our refunds. They have no clue why some returns are going through out of sequence. Our refunds are NOT being held up because of the healthcare 570. We WILL have our funds released on or before Feb 11th. She talked to her supervisor. She also said that IF its not off by the 11th that we can call and they will push it through and have the amount deducted right then and there, but they do not see us having that problem. There is absolutely NO hold on my refund so just wait and watch. It will be approved shortly. We should only worry if we get an error code that is 4 digits on the WMR site. That would mean that there are additional problems with the refund. ie… Student loans, back taxes, that sort of thing. I told her about our group on here without giving her the name, and she asked me to tell all of you, that its nothing to be concerned about. We will have our refunds before the 21 days is up. I really hope that this helps all of you.January 29, 2015 at 6:51 pm #4097089
Oh I didn’t mean it like that!January 29, 2015 at 6:41 pm #4097082
@widget: our lil forum here is drama free too! :DJanuary 29, 2015 at 6:36 pm #4097075
@quell You are correct regarding your codes pertaining to the monies being moved. There is no manual review for this. It is a systemic hold and will release automatically. If it were a hold for review there would be a code 971 on there and you would see that it was under review on the WMR. There is a whole club on FB called #Club570. We are constantly sharing info we find and it is drama free. Come join and see if we can all get through this!January 29, 2015 at 6:01 pm #4097054
@carenpa That makes sense because this morning on this site I saw people mentioning that they had a DDD for tomorrow and that they had paid the health care penalty. So why would we have to wait until 2/16?January 29, 2015 at 5:59 pm #4097052
Interesting…yes I know LONG read…but this guy (whose wife worked at the IRS) explains how to get the IRS people to tell you over the phone what is going on with our code 570. He said there is a number called a designator that we can’t see on our transcripts but the IRS can on their end…
tygerswife 11 months ago Reply
MORE ON CODES: The IRS publication I mentioned is 633 pages and takes some time to read. Since I am unemployed right now, I had a chance to read the whole thing. What I found out from it has really been a big help. Most of the codes, referred to as ‘TC’ codes by the IRS, such as 150, 570, 971, have designators to them that are not shown on the transcript. In other words, they are incomplete on our transcripts. For instance, my designator for 570 is ‘1’. The code is actually 570-1. If you want to find out what is going on with your taxes you need to be persistent and informed. The designator part of the code tells the IRS what exactly is going on with your account / return. Once I realized that I only had the transaction action (TC) code and not the designator, I called the IRS and asked them to tell me the whole code. In doing so, I was able to get a person to actually pull up the screen that shows them the whole code and they were able to tell me exactly what is going on with my return. You may have to call them several times to find out what is going on because many of the people you contact in the call centers may not even know how to get to the right screen or unwilling to go through the trouble of looking it up for you. When I call them, I use option 2, that is, to discuss my account rather then 1, track my refund. If you call them wanting to find out why your refund has not arrived yet, be assured you will most likely be treated rudely and referred to their useless Where’s my Refund page. Getting your transcripts is your most useful tool. They can be obtained online by simply going to the IRS home page and following the links. If you do not have an online user account, you will have to sing up for one but it is an easy sign up and only take a few minutes. Requesting them by mail can take up to 8 weeks to get them so you will want to get them online (instantly). Once you have the TC codes, then you can call them as ask them to tell you what the designators to the codes are . If they wont tell you what the designator means or wont look it up for you, hang up and keep calling them back until you get someone on the phone who will tell you. Be aware of another fact, if your refund has any codes on it other then the standard processing codes, you are definitely going to be waiting an additional 4-6 weeks for your refund.January 29, 2015 at 5:52 pm #4097048
So while on various fb pages and sites I seen mention of Code 201 coming up on WMR. All of these people have that code with DDD of 1/30 or 2/2. They have all said they had no offsets but they did have one thing in common- healthcare penalty. There was no talk of transcripts by these people. I am trying to find out when they were accepted but do know they were all after the 20th! So maybe the IRS seen that there was a problem, fixed it while we were processing and now we just have to wait until they fix ours!January 29, 2015 at 5:51 pm #4097046
I have been told by 5 ppl that 570 means just a freeze that will liftJanuary 29, 2015 at 5:49 pm #4097044
I just spoke to an IRS rep and was told that I was in review but he could not tell me why because its too early. I told him that i was able to pull my transcript and that I had the 896/570 codes. He told me that the 570 meant I was the code for “review” and that it could delay my refund 45-60 days! I thought this code simply meant that the US treasury had to take my penalty out and then release my funds?! So confused. Filed 1/20 in HRB office, accepted same day. Have had 1 bar on wmr and topic 152 since the 20th. Any thoughts?January 29, 2015 at 5:39 pm #4097035
That’s good…. just if we could think of a way to get it lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 5:24 pm #4097026
Right, what tt shows should be ALREADY minus the feeJanuary 29, 2015 at 5:17 pm #4097019
So what ever our refund shows from tt that what it is…. not that minus the fee cents they alreqsy took it off?????January 29, 2015 at 4:56 pm #4097008
@Ty TT didn’t actually take it. They just put it on paper telling the IRS what they need to take from your refund…I have TT as well.January 29, 2015 at 4:48 pm #4096998
Answer me this ppl…. going to try to explain this the best way… when I doing my taxes on tt, when I got to the healthcare thing and I said no I didn’t have health care it took 182 away from my refund and gave me my total… so I guess what I’m saying is they should not be taking anything away cents tt automatically Took itJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:43 pm #4096994
yes @Jansvan 70 (the blue dot guy) thats is what im saying too….i looked at past transcripts too and those dates like this year dont come close to went i actually got it….so thats why i am saying it will be resolved way before tht 2/16 date its giving usJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:39 pm #4096992
@carenpa exactly its not supposed to be delaying our refund…so maybe it wont….its you have a cycle code 20150402 (that is tomorrows cycle) than we may see our money tomorrow or over the weekend….also take into consideration your bank…so even if they do release your money tomorrow like they should you still may not see it till monday depending on your bank….i filed with HR Block so i am getting mine on my emerald car, so as soon as its released ill see it on there…January 29, 2015 at 4:35 pm #4096986
Again another story! Ughh. Anyone notice that every IRS agent, tax company, tax preparer and tax advocate has a different answer. They didn’t know what they were doing and instead of sending out a notice and admitting wrongdoing they turn it around and make us chase our tails looking for an answer. My new mantra for next year is I am not going to file early, I am not going to file early!January 29, 2015 at 4:33 pm #4096983
Amber…. I would have to disagree with that… if that was the case sbbt would have my money now and they don’t… There is no telling how long this will takeJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:33 pm #4096982
I know we all have that 570 code so what I’m about to say may or may not apply….
We all have that 2/16/2015 out there to the side on our account transcripts and are feeling we may not get our money until then…
Well I went back and looked at my past years (2012, 2013) ACCOUNT transcripts…
My 2013 account transcripts says I was refunded 2-24-14 but in actuality it hit my bank 2-6-14
My 2012 account transcript says I was refunded 2-18-14 but Ina actuality it hit my bank 2-1-14
So I don’t know how much I would rely on that 2-16-14 date….it could and hopefully will come much sooner.January 29, 2015 at 4:32 pm #4096981
@carepena: When I talked to an IRS rep earlier they asked me when I filed and I told her the 9th and was accepted the 12th. She told me to call back by feb 1st because it would be the 21 day mark. I think she was just trying to get me off the phone because she never looked at my personal info just spitting out the 21 day crap.January 29, 2015 at 4:30 pm #4096980
@ comeonnn its not a hold till 2/16/15 that is the 21 day mark….if they dont have it fixed by then that just means they will owe you intrust on all your money…sooo believe me it will be fixed before then…cause we all know they wont pay us moer than they have too…..lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:27 pm #4096979
the 2/16/2015 that everyone is seeing on their transcripts DOES NOT mean that is when they are holding your money till……its the 21 day mark…and it means that after that date your money will start to gain intrust because they went beyond the 21 day mark….so they will have it fixed before then cause god forbid they havet to pay us anymore money than they have to….lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:27 pm #4096977
So what about all of the people I saw posting that they have the health penalty and have two bars with DDD dates for tomorrow? Is it only people who filed early that have a hold until 2/16?January 29, 2015 at 4:26 pm #4096975
I have the 570 code as well but in my case i have a “premium tax credit” rather than an offset because I overpaid for insurance rather than underpaid or went without. So instead of an 896 i have an extra 766 “credit to your account” So in my case although I’m sure that it’s the same healthcare debacle screwing things up, I’m apparently waiting on money to be credited instead of removed…. UGHJanuary 29, 2015 at 4:23 pm #4096973
So the people whom said they had the penalty but got DDD were not being truthful because wouldn’t this have happened to everyone. It does sound like the 21 day spiel. So does our 21 day go from this Monday or the 20th as I have had my bar since then? So we will not get our money until 2/20 which is past 21 days and according to the IRS it is not supposed to delay our refund which it is!January 29, 2015 at 4:22 pm #4096972
hey guys, i heard over on facebook a man was saying he looked into this 570 code stuff, and that they are using the 570 code to let themselves know who had insurence and who didnt…this way they knew who to take fees from…because its all new this year…..well he also said that if your like me and have a cycle code of 20150402 that tomorrow is the DD for that cycle, and he said that he thinks we could still see our money even without the WMR updating for us…..he said he thinks because they are using that 570 code to identify people who didnt have insurance that that code maybe why WMR isnt updating…..so if you have the cycle code 20150402, we may still have hope of seeing or money tomorrow or over the weekend…January 29, 2015 at 3:55 pm #4096950January 29, 2015 at 3:54 pm #4096947January 29, 2015 at 3:53 pm #4096945
I honestly do not think it will take up to 21 days because they are required to notify us about the delay and we all do not have the 971 code for the notice.January 29, 2015 at 3:50 pm #4096943
@2013taxpayer I think you’re probably right! Excuse me if I made a mistake…my brain is doing backflips ever since my transcript became available. Excitement to not knowing….to still wondering. Thank goodness I got insurance coverage this year. Absolutely hate this stuff lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 3:43 pm #4096939
I thought you don’t accrue interest until after tax deadline in April.January 29, 2015 at 3:43 pm #4096938
Could be a minimum of 4 days/maximum of 21January 29, 2015 at 3:41 pm #4096935
@jasvan She did say it is possible it could release before then but according to the training she received regarding this it more than likely will not. Being the first year though anything is possible she said. The IRS was aware this was going to happen. She had training for this situation 2 weeks ago. She will be monitoring my case and if anything new happens she will phone me and I will share my info.January 29, 2015 at 3:41 pm #4096934
@widget: Thanks! I know we all would appreciate it.
@jasvan: I think we could still see a ddd tomorrow or next week because of the IRS manual saying 4 business days. I still have a glimmer of hope.January 29, 2015 at 3:36 pm #4096933
@widget yes thank you for sharing. I must say my refund excitement is now as deflated as a New England Patriots football though now. It sounds on target. Because after 2/16 there would be accrued interest the IRS would have to pay. Just wondering though did they say it might release before then?January 29, 2015 at 3:35 pm #4096932
@abbey I will definitely post if I hear more info. I surely hope it comes sooner but i know now it may be a couple more weeks.January 29, 2015 at 3:35 pm #4096929
That sounds like a ‘standard’ answer, like the 21 day thing. It could take that long but probably won’t. Hopefully. I’m still holding out hope for tomorrow!!!!January 29, 2015 at 3:31 pm #4096923
@widget Thanks so much for informing us. I think this is 100% on the money. I just hope now we get our refund ASAP.January 29, 2015 at 3:19 pm #4096912
I would like to share the info I have received. On Tuesday when I saw this on my transcripts i phoned the taxpayer advocate line. They put in a referral for me to receive a call from and actual advocate located in my state. The rep I spoke to seemed new and she was not supposed to refer me yet as the 21 days haven’t passed. She did though and yesterday I received a call from my advocate. This is most definitely due to the ACA penalty. The date of 2-16-15 on my transcripts indicates the day the hold will systemically release and the ACA penalty credited to the correct IRS/treasury account. This action could take place sooner. Being the first year for this it is still new and even they are still learning. There is no audit, manual review or any other action except for the penalty to apply correctly. I have her direct number and I will continue to stay in touch with her. The 16th is the 21st day since the date of processing and I’m sure that is why it is there. Basically the 16th is the final date that this will be released unless there are other issues that need corrected.January 29, 2015 at 2:57 pm #4096878
Found this on Facebook as well:
I have been researching this 876/570 code for a few days now and this is what I believe. Even though 570 is technically a “freeze code” in this instance it was just IRS’s way of flagging the refund to deduct the healthcare care penalty. Now there has been chatter of this 570 code will be “lifted” tonight at 6, just in time for direct deposit. I believe this is untrue. If you are able to access your transcript you will see your refund (credit amount) on the top. I don’t think typical IRS coding rules apply here. Keep in mind, this is the new healthcare penalty processing and is new to the IRS and I think sticking these codes on top of them is the only way the IRS can pick them up. I also think because of these codes we are not seeing movement on WMR. I think anyone with a 20150402 cycle should expect their refund tomorrow. Let’s hope.January 29, 2015 at 2:50 pm #4096865
That code if it expires on 2/16/2015 is exactly 21 days from the date our returns began POSTING…not accepted. 20150402i is 1/26/2015…which is what the IRS will go by…not when our returns are accepted. So maybe…..but I say no because after 2/16/2015 our refunds start accruing interest that IRS will have to pay. Which means they pay more than our actual refunds are. I don’t think it’s accurate and we should see our refunds before then. But yes it’s possible. That would be the latest.January 29, 2015 at 2:41 pm #4096857
Oops….I meant yes for A only hahaha….my bad!January 29, 2015 at 2:40 pm #4096855
Omg Abbey I was just going to repost that! Great minds think alike. I am not sure 2/16/2015 are they saying two days from that date or two days from our transcripts being posted? Where was this found in the Manuel, it’s just nonspecific and also the penalty is not an offsetJanuary 29, 2015 at 2:39 pm #4096854
We’ve heard a bunch of conflicting info but MOST of it points to the code dropping off tonight, thats the first time I’ve seen anyone say that date. Thats also past 21 days for most of us. I just don’t see it happening.January 29, 2015 at 2:37 pm #4096852
Got that from the homepage not from me fyiJanuary 29, 2015 at 2:35 pm #4096850
TO THOSE WITH CODES 570/896
As you’ve probably figured out, this means your refund is being held to pay for an offset.
The GOOD news, is more than likely you are not being audited (other codes would show) and THE HOLD WILL EXPIRE IN 2 CYCLES (02/16/2015)
This is from the irs manual.
….opinions???January 29, 2015 at 2:25 pm #4096835
@whathappened – the amount for healthcare – suvey
A-yes, already deducted
B-shows 896 with penalty amount, and no, refund amount shows after this is taken out
My theory, the amount show on transcript should show what you are getting back after penalty was applied, it was already subtracted when doing the taxes. cycle 20150402January 29, 2015 at 2:15 pm #4096824
It sounds like we really have nothing to worry about and that at least some of us should see a change tomorrow.January 29, 2015 at 2:12 pm #4096821
@whathappened: i still stand by what you said as well.
I called before I came on here and looking at other sites. I waited for almost an hour….ugh….i was told that i have nothing to worry about and they gave me the 21 day spill. I have no idea what that means for us lol but that is the answer i got from them.January 29, 2015 at 2:08 pm #4096817
Okay I have read every forum I can find this morning, and have found a pattern.
First of there is a small group of people who have 570 and not the 896, and they were just confused, so their info doesn’t help us.
Second there is another small group of the 896/570’s that are reporting their refund amount on their transcript shows their full refund amount before the penalty was deducted, and the ones in that group that called the IRS, are being told they have other issues.
That puts the rest in a third group. The ones who have 570/896, and their transcripts reflect the amount already deducted. These ones that have called are reporting that there is no issue, and not to worry about it.
This is what I stated I found the other night. For anyone with the 896/570, and you don’t have any other tax issues, offsets, pending credits, etc., the 570 is supposed to drop off on the 4 business day, and I still stand by that.January 29, 2015 at 2:05 pm #4096813
Got this from TT answer xchange:
Another comment from FB page “ChuckandHeather Hodge I called 2 different IRS people. First guy said that I would receive it on Friday according to my cycle date but he couldn’t really answer the 570 freeze thing. The second lady, said that it was a freeze because of the health care penalty, and it would take 4 business days to clear so the money would be released on the next batch which is next Wednesday. If it comes Friday, Hell Yes but it will probably be next week and she sounded more competent than the first guy.” So in this case 4 days from when you were able to access the transcripts. I know some people accessed it on Monday, there is not date marked of when transcript was created, the only date I see changed to todays date. I didn’t check my transcripts till Tuesday but they may have been available Monday, so 4 days from Monday is 1/30 DDD which aligns with my cycle number. If it’s counting from Tuesday then probably won’t get it till 2/2 DDD.January 29, 2015 at 2:02 pm #4096810
A. Does your transcript reflect your refund amount, with the penalty already deducted?
B. Does your transcript show the 896 with your penalty amount, however the refund amount is still in full, without the penalty being deducted yet?
C. Do you have account transcripts, return transcripts, or both?
C. BothJanuary 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm #4096808
One others interesting thing about 2/16….we all began officially processing 20150402 Monday…1/26/2015…..21days from there is 2/16/2015…..look at your transcripts……it has a place on one of them for interest accrued….and 2/16 beside it with 0’s. If they don’t have it done by then the IRS will have to pay interest on literally millions of dollars. So I don’t doubt that they want to expedite this. Just wish we had received some form of notice that this could happen and that maybe we shouldn’t be alarmed about it.January 29, 2015 at 1:55 pm #4096803
I have all my transcripts and it reflects the total refund with the penalty deducted.January 29, 2015 at 1:54 pm #4096802
Yes, I have that a minus sign equals a credit amount. The amount next to it is the refund amount with the penalty already taken out.January 29, 2015 at 1:54 pm #4096801
So no go on the call.. Ugh gave me the 21 day spiel and not to worry but no solid info. Wouldn’t even look up my info. SmhJanuary 29, 2015 at 1:52 pm #4096799
I can see all my transcripts and the 896 has the amount of the penalty but the refund amount already reflects it as taken out. Does that make sense?January 29, 2015 at 1:52 pm #4096798
A. Does your transcript reflect your refund amount, with the penalty already deducted?
B. Does your transcript show the 896 with your penalty amount, however the refund amount is still in full, without the penalty being deducted yet? Yes
C. Do you have account transcripts, return transcripts, or both? BothJanuary 29, 2015 at 1:50 pm #4096796
You will know if its already taken out if you look back up towards the top and it has a note about a minus sign being a credit. Is that amount reflecting your full refund or the amount after penaltyJanuary 29, 2015 at 1:49 pm #4096794
My account transcript does, and record of account transcript shows original amount and how the penalty was subtracted and then amount of refund.
It looks like I have all transcripts (account, record of account, and return) filled in but the wage one.January 29, 2015 at 1:48 pm #4096792
Carenpa I like your line of thinking! Whatthahappened I think it is already taken out because when I am looking at my transcripts it shows in payment section/ individual responsibility healthcare. And yes I can see both on mine.January 29, 2015 at 1:45 pm #4096791
i have read, on here through reliable source, the 896/570 should update tonight and if your a 20150402 , funds should be released tonight/tommrw. the 896 is the healthcode penalty and the 570 is ‘holding’ your return so it doesn’t go out to you without the penalty being applied, which is supposed to happen tonight.January 29, 2015 at 1:44 pm #4096789
My 896 code has the same amount I paid for health insurance and my refund total reflects that. I am able to see all my transcripts.
I was wondering if maybe we got re sequenced too. Maybe they have to manually put ours in because they didn’t go through correctly. Just a theory.January 29, 2015 at 1:40 pm #4096788
I have been on hold for 25 min, I will let you all know what I hear.
@taxpayer2013: Somone called, Kendra I believe and they told her she was under review. I doubt the irs person was right though.January 29, 2015 at 1:39 pm #4096787
I’m in the same boat…. :( Crystal I had the exact same things happen with transcripts then today I tried again. I didn’t even know about the codes at the time. I just wanted my transcripts. It let me go in today and get them, then I found about these stupid codes! Did you try again today to get yours? I am so annoyed! I hope we all get a happy surprise in the morning! If I find out any new info I will share! Have a great day everyone, will check back later!:)January 29, 2015 at 1:38 pm #4096785
Ok, I need a survey.
If you have the 896/570 combo, and you can view your transcripts –
A. Does your transcript reflect your refund amount, with the penalty already deducted?
B. Does your transcript show the 896 with your penalty amount, however the refund amount is still in full, without the penalty being deducted yet?
C. Do you have account transcripts, return transcripts, or both?January 29, 2015 at 1:33 pm #4096782
I have also read on other sites as well to not worry much about the 570. We will see! Hopefully we will see some kind of progress by tomorrow!!January 29, 2015 at 1:18 pm #4096767
There are so many different answers and stories. Although the facts remain that we do have 896/570 codes. Is it possible that since we filed early not only did they gives these codes but resequenced us at the same time, another theory to throw out there. I just wish we good get an honest answer. We pay tax companies to file our taxes, they should be able to help get an answer!January 29, 2015 at 1:12 pm #4096759
Hey i currently have the 896 code and 570 code. I haven’t had any updates or anything. Still have one bar, and filed through turbo tax.January 29, 2015 at 1:08 pm #4096752
There is no way we are all under review. I have the ext# 652 I just need the main number. I am going to call this is turning into some hot mess!January 29, 2015 at 1:02 pm #4096745
So same thing 896/570 my 570 doe shave 00.00 which sounds like a good thing..But I think if nothing is DD in the morning or changed I think not just 1 or 2 but EVERYONE should call then put our phone experience on here and best quotes gets the cake lol ;) also getting on my nerves it the error for this sight lol…January 29, 2015 at 1:01 pm #4096743

The worst part of this is the gossip. People throughout the internet are making things up, repeating things they heard, or getting misinformation from uninformed IRS reps. I have heard we are all under review, that it will be take 4-6 weeks to process health care penalties, that we will have our DDD tomorrow, that we are getting a audit, etc.
If tomorrow morning comes and go without a change at all, I think alot of us will just loose it. lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 12:48 pm #4096728
This is the IRS guide to helping you understand codesJanuary 29, 2015 at 12:46 pm #4096722
I am jumping in on the perplexed bandwagon..
I filed with TT on 1/21
Was approved within minutes
WMR shows 1 bar and has maintained that bar
I was able to view my transcripts on Monday, however, ever since… they have either given me error codes or said I was “locked out” for misinformation.
When I saw my t’s I had a cycle of 20140402 with the 896/570
I feel like we have been voted off the island! I am not much of an obsessive girl, but the “limbo” is maddening!January 29, 2015 at 11:40 am #4096646
Thanks Kendra and let us know what you find out.January 29, 2015 at 11:21 am #4096625
I am on hold with irs now, hopefully i get an answer, my friend had the healthcare penalty and never had the 570 code just 896 and was approved today.January 29, 2015 at 10:49 am #4096597January 29, 2015 at 10:38 am #4096583
I’ve been reading several help groups that have people in it with our same situation..
One lady just got off phone with a nice IRS rep that told her it should auto remove and shouldn’t hold up their refund. She said that as long as code 971 isn’t on there there should be no issues and that WMR and even transcript might not even update until after we receive dd! Even though the person could view their transcript and see it had the 570 code the IRS rep said their was no hold on their end? This is absolutely crazy! Let’s all just keep pulling for one another. I sure hope we see dd tomorrow or for you card holders tonight. If we don’t then I’m calling IRS lol! I’m just reporting what I read…..January 29, 2015 at 10:03 am #4096545
Typical 21 day answer. So after talking to a CPA he said that if we can see a return transcript we should be completly done processing. Meaning no review or audit. After hearing someone else’s story we came to the conclusion that maybe our transcripts won’t update until after we receive our refunds or DDD In that case the 570 will come off and 846 will be in it’s place. Just gotta stay positive!January 29, 2015 at 9:57 am #4096542
Saw this on TurboTax site from someone…I will copy and paste
queenhuff1 17 hours ago Reply
I just got off the phone with the IRS I was told that the code 570 is for the ACA insurance penalty but that it is not holding up the refund and they could not give me any more information until the 21 days were up but that I should still receive my refund within 21 daysJanuary 29, 2015 at 9:47 am #4096533
Ok, so I called IRS yesterday, the lady I spoke with researched why I was getting the 570 code (I also have the 896 for healthcare penalty). And after 20 minutes of research she got back on to tell me she wasn’t seeing any information regarding the 570 and to call back after the return has hit the 21 day mark for more information.
I also called my tax preparer – they said not to worry because normally if I did owe something the 570 would have an actual amount instead of $0.00January 29, 2015 at 9:27 am #4096514
Just so we can keep the info train rolling and compare information:
Filed 1/7 through TT
Rejected 1/15 due to internal TT error
Filed 1/18 through TA
Accepted 1/20 through TA
Got my first bar on 1/20
Have not lost that bar to date.
Only TT 152 on WMR.
HOH, EIC, Child Tax Credit, Child Care Credit, Health Care Penalty.
I have the cycle code set for a DD of 1/30, and determined I had the 896/570 dreaded combo on day 1 of the transcripts opening up.January 29, 2015 at 9:27 am #4096513
So I tried accessing my transcripts again this morning and still getting the error message cannot verify your identity hmmmm not sure whats going on I did try to request by mail my 2014 account and return transcript but it says its not available what could that mean for me?January 29, 2015 at 9:23 am #4096511
Anyone willing to call IRS? I’ve never had a holdup period with my refund…always did it early always get refund early….this is nerve wracking. Yes I’ve had one bar since acceptance…nothing changed…January 29, 2015 at 8:58 am #4096476
I tried on Monday, a couple of hours after creating the first account that I couldn’t log into. Yes, I used the same email and registered a new account and it worked to log in. They sent the confirmation code instantly. I’ve had no problem logging into the account all week since then.January 29, 2015 at 8:55 am #4096474
@cmonnnnn: okay so when u did try and used you’re first email again it sent u you’re confirmation code to log in ?January 29, 2015 at 8:50 am #4096467
@relle I made an account to login on Monday and it said info was wrong when I tried to login after. I then made a second account on Monday but used the same email and it worked. That is the account I use to log in with now. Don’t know if that will help, but maybe try the first email again to make another account?January 29, 2015 at 8:40 am #4096459
Okay just tried to re registered my user ID to start a whole new user ID and password to get my transcript but it’s says that it will send to my email adress for the confirmation code but nothing came tried 2 different emails I have still nothing in either one I just need to long in but seems like irs isn’t sending no confirmation code but last year when I requested it to be sent they “irs’ sent it soon as I clicked the link please someone help JUST Trying to see my transcriptJanuary 29, 2015 at 8:34 am #4096445
I still have one bar.
we had to go in office to Jackson Hewitt this year (still mad about those damn fees) so i bet if it drops tomorrow I’ll have to wait til Saturday or Monday. But as long as one of you guys updates i won’t be worried!January 29, 2015 at 8:25 am #4096435
@jewel0789: not sure but i do know they have their own bank. so fees are deducted by H&R Block Bank.January 29, 2015 at 8:23 am #4096432
@2013taxpayer Thank you! Well, I’ll be keeping fingers crossed that it falls off tonight and codes are updated tomorrow!January 29, 2015 at 8:20 am #4096427
@carenpa: :( i really hope we see some kind of movement soon as well. Pretty frustrating knowing we should’ve gotten ours by now or tomorrow but instead one code is preventing that from us. Ugh
@cmonnn: if it falls off today by 10pm like it should, it will update on transcript on next business day with 846 which is tomorrow. We want to see a 571 and 846. If we are delayed, I hope it’s just like a couple of days if they don’t follow through.January 29, 2015 at 8:19 am #4096425
I’m trying not to worry until maybe Tuesday.. I am getting my fees taken out so if it proceeds as normal I will get it Monday.. Holding tomorrow but we will see.. Does anyone know how to check the fees taken put for h&r block?January 29, 2015 at 8:15 am #4096416
So according to the manual, our transcript should update tonight after 10pm to the 846 code?January 29, 2015 at 8:10 am #4096413
I am beginning to to worry. Unfortunately I do not have faith in the IRS or their system. I hope we see movement today or tonight. No changes in transcript today and I have been at my one bar since Jan 16January 29, 2015 at 8:07 am #4096410
@relle: I’m sure you have checked your junk mail. What you can do is after when you click on Forgot UserID, instead of filling those 3 fielda out…just click on the link re-register. That way you can make a new user ID. Hope this method will work out for ya!January 29, 2015 at 8:00 am #4096401
So let me get this correct if u don’t have health care it’s some kind of delay if so for how long long filed on the 24th wmr on shows 1 bar and tt152 I can’t seem to get my transcript because I don’t have my user ID from last year and when I type in my email for the it’s to send me my user ID it never comes to my email SOME ONE PLEASE HELPJanuary 29, 2015 at 7:54 am #4096385January 29, 2015 at 7:53 am #4096381
@CRYSTALINORLANDO: lol….that’s what I said!!! I should’ve just lied on that question! hahahaJanuary 29, 2015 at 7:50 am #4096378January 29, 2015 at 7:50 am #4096376
@cmonnnnm: no, you’re not the only one with a bar. Jasvan & Abbey have a bar.January 29, 2015 at 7:49 am #4096374
I have never had any problems with my tax return up until this year. I have always received my return the first batch and nothing drastic has changed with my return in the last 4 years other than making a few extra 1000 dollars last year so I definitely just think it has to do with this healthcare penalty I guess thats what we get for being honest huh? Just should have put that I had healthcare coverage so I could receive my deposit tomorrow ugh I hate the IRS right about now lolJanuary 29, 2015 at 7:48 am #4096372
my situation is a little different. I don’t have 896, i have a credit for health insurance because I paid more than i should have apparently…. but I too have 570 because I imagine the credit works the same way the offset would if money is going to or coming from the same place. UGHJanuary 29, 2015 at 7:46 am #4096371
@ 2013taxpayer: unfortunately I have not received and update either just missing bars on WMR since I pretty much filed :(January 29, 2015 at 7:45 am #4096369
Does everyone here have missing bars? I have had the one bar since approval and it’s never disappeared. I hope I’m not the only one with a bar in this situation. That might mean I have more problems with my return? :(January 29, 2015 at 7:39 am #4096362
@cmonnnnn: same! I wouldnt care if it wasnt for tomorrow. Just give us a DDD!!!
@CRYSTALINORLANDO: i filed 13th, accepted 14th, bars and refund amount went bye-bye (have tt152) 17th. To this day still missing bars.January 29, 2015 at 7:37 am #4096361
@CRYSTALINORLANDO: according to their manual, it’s supposed to be released as scheduled. But knowing unpredictable irs, who knows if they will actually let it? ughJanuary 29, 2015 at 7:37 am #4096360
@2013taxpayer: are you also missing your bars? Also curious as to when you may have filed?January 29, 2015 at 7:35 am #4096357
I would be happy to just get approved and get a DDD. It doesn’t even have to be for tomorrow ( although that would be nice!).January 29, 2015 at 7:30 am #4096352
It would be really nice to get a DDD of tomorrow and have the money in our account when wake up LoL…….wishful thinking huh? This is just crazy though. So let me get this right if the hold on our returns are lifted tonight for the healthcare penalty then it is a possibility to still get a DD for tomorrow or do you think Monday?January 29, 2015 at 7:29 am #4096349
nothing changed overnight for me either… 896/570…..cycle 20140402…..fingers crossed we will update tonight….January 29, 2015 at 7:27 am #4096346
@Shaunna: i agree 100% with ya!!January 29, 2015 at 7:26 am #4096344
@CRYSTALINORLANDO: i hope for good news for us as well tomorrow morning! i assume if we don’t have updates, you don’t either. I checked about an hour ago and still no change if that helps. If i do have any changes i will post here.January 29, 2015 at 7:23 am #4096339
Hopefully they do, its a mean trick to give us the same 1/30 cycle date and then hold out on us. I keep waiting for anyone to see a change. Downside to being in the first cycle….no one to base experience off of to know how its going to work.January 29, 2015 at 7:23 am #4096338
So if I filed on 1/6 and accepted on 1/13 and all my orange bars have been gone since around the 17th of January and I am having the healthcare penalty taken out of my return technically we should be seeing an update tomorrow morning? Am I correct? I havent been able to pull up my transcripts I was able to get in Monday and there was no information tried signing in Tuesday to take a look and for some reason it stated it was unable to verify my identity and after trying 3 unsuccessful times is locked me out for 24 hours tried again yesterday and the same thing so im not even 100% sure what my T’s are showing so im just left in the dark and it sucks!!! Hopefully we ALL get an update tomorrow morning!!January 29, 2015 at 7:19 am #4096336
@Shaunna: if they follow their own manual, we should still get it by tomorrow.
@cmonnnnn: same here and everyone else. I don’t know of anyone in our shoes that has had change as of yet on their transcripts.January 29, 2015 at 7:15 am #4096332
Same situation here. I have the 896/570 codes and no DDD yet and no change in transcripts since Monday. :(January 29, 2015 at 7:15 am #4096331
If its supposed to fall of today wouldn’t they release funds today and we’d see them tomorrow?January 29, 2015 at 7:01 am #4096323
@AshleyFromSC15: LOL….man, then we’ll really know they don’t go by their own book hahahaha. It’s gonna be a guessing game!!! Ahhhh!January 29, 2015 at 6:56 am #4096318
So basically 10pm local time today is judgement today and if no change than we are all doomed? LOLJanuary 29, 2015 at 3:30 am #4096262
Yeah, definitely no funds for me for the 30th. I would have gotten in as of now in usaa. Unless if they release it right on friday…i am guessing too late for that so maybe next week. No surprise there cos of the 570. It was wishful thinking :(.January 29, 2015 at 3:10 am #4096260
@whathappened‘s findings from IRS manual:
I found some more solid info, for no delay:
Our SPR (shared payment responsibility/Healthcare penalty) is the 896 (overpayment credit offset)
This is taken care of by a credit transfer from the debit side (debt) to the credit side (satisfied).
Credit transfers have rules.
7.All actions need to post in the same cycle to prevent the issuance of erroneous notices.
Use posting delay codes when inputting multiple actions such as:
-A credit transfer and tax adjustment. If both an adjustment and a transfer of credit into the module is needed, input a posting delay code of one cycle on the adjustment. In three weeks, the taxpayer receives a notice of adjustment with the correct module balance.
-Multiple credit transfers in and out of the same module
So like I said over in the transcripts group, unless you have other offsets going on, no delay!
2.NOREFP must be executed on the day the refund hold is set to expire (day 4 for Priority Refund Transcripts, Thursday for CP Notices 12, and 24). When CC NOREFP is initiated, the following table explains when the TC 846 and systemic TC 841 will be displayed: Note: For IDRS input, “day 4” for Priority Refund Transcripts begins at 6 pm local time on day 3 and ends at 6 pm local time on day 4; “Thursday” for CP Notices begins at 6 pm local time local time on Wednesday and ends at 10 pm Eastern time on Thursday.
Daily Account TC 846/841
Posting Chart Transaction Code
CFOL Command Codes IDRS Command Codes
846 Next business day Second business day
841 Two business days Third business day
Weekly Account TC 846/841

846 Saturday after freeze releases Monday after freeze releases 841 Second Saturday after freeze releases Second Monday after freeze releases
So if they take no action, it falls off Thursday, refund gets released as scheduled.
The TC570 appearing because the amount of your T896 hasn’t been applied to your tax account yet. As in, on paper they have reduced your refund by but it hasn’t been applied to the actual debt yet.
TC570 (Freeze code) will be lifted when TC896 credit transfer posts to the account.
TC570 must be input with the credit transfer in order to hold the credit.
A TC 570 input as a separate transaction will not prevent refund or offset.
Layman terms – shouldn’t create any delay or refund. Look for a change sometime tomorrow since accounts just posted today. The credit has to take place and then you should see an 846 code.
–So let’s hope IRS will actually follow their book!!!January 29, 2015 at 2:56 am #4096257
I hope your wrong. I have code 570 and 896. I filed with JH on 17th then accept on 20th been stuck on 1 bar on WMR since then. Got transcript tonight and had these lovely codes. I do believe it automatically releases based on a post earlier today by a mod or a regular (not sure which) but it was someone who is always posting with great info and I believe he was quoting from the IRS manual. I had not got my transcript when I read it earlier so I didn’t dig into it with my own brain but I do recall thinking that it made sense and that it was good news for whoever had those codes. It was a very detailed post and I would give anything to find it.January 29, 2015 at 2:22 am #4096250
I’m in that same category yall are…been following yall and anyone else I can find. Really sucks….I have searched high and low and haven’t seen any getting ddd or dd….I truly believe we will get ours though. The Treasury is the last link in refund chain….that 570 code is holding ours up. Once they place 571 code it should disappear and be replace by 846 then Treasury releases funds. I hope it automatically falls off. Surely it won’t be a person having to manually go in and change them because there are millions of us they would have to do that to. If I find anything new I will post here!
