Anyone from Texas get theirs back yet?

    #4110948 Reply

I figured out how to get our transcripts and it says Return due date April 15th and Processed date March 16th. Does this mean I’m getting my return on the 15th??

    #4110945 Reply

We submitted our taxes on 2/18 with the injured spouse, I have tried calling the IRS many times to see if they have a date for our return and when I get to the point where it says hold to speak with someone it tells me based on the call volume that there isn’t anyone who can speak with me and to try again later, what am I doing wrong?? Can someone please let me know which number is best to call and what numbers to push to get someone? lol. Also with submitting them on 2/18 how much longer do you think we’ll have to wait? thanks so much!!

We filed our taxes and injured spouse form on Jan 30, 2015. I called the IRS last week to get an update as to what was going on and they told me that I should be expecting my refund around April 20th. This is the 3rd year that we’ve filed injured spouse and it’s all the same debt (no new debt). It would be nice if they could process it faster since nothing has changed but they have certain steps that have to be taken with each form. :(

It takes 21-60 days to process injured spouse claims. We have had to file it for the last 3 years since I became disabled. You can go to the and check “where is my refund?”

I had to file an injured spouse form when my debts took my husband’s refund. I didn’t even work! So, I did an amended return in March of 2014 and didn’t get our refund till August 2014! This time, I filed an injured spouse form with our taxes. We got our state back already not even a week after I filed so I’m hoping our federal will come on time. Has anyone had theirs come on time with the injured spouse form? This is our second year filing the injured spouse form with the same debts so could it come faster?

I think the best thing to do is make sure you don’t overpay into your taxes next year so you will receive your money in your paycheck, and not get a refund. :) Then, you’ll just pay them a small bit… on April 15. Wait until the last minute to pay THEM!

We filed on Jan 30, 2015. Just posting on here to have an idea of how long it will take to get our refund. Hopefully we don’t have another 2013 disaster!!! And I wish all of you the best and hope they can get these refunds out in a timely fashion.

We’re in the same boat. Our Where’s My Refund switched to “21 days for processing” as of 12/17, and the date we were given by a Tax Advocate for our holdup being cleared as 12/18, so… hopefully soon!

When we were told 12/18, they said that this problem affected every person who submitted an Injured Spouse and had old debts covered by this company — apparently a computer glitch caused the Injured Spouse forms not to be processed, and they have to wait until it’s fixed (and the Advocate’s Office can’t give emergency refunds because when it gets fixed, it’ll direct deposit it automatically).

We filed our return in April 2013…as of January 2015, we STILL don’t have a date. I WISH our wait was 14 weeks. Well, at least we know what to look forward to THIS tax season, lol. Wish us luck!!

Hello. I’m new to the forum after waiting over 19 weeks to receive my refund. I’ve been filing an Injured Spouse Return for several years now and this is the longest it has ever taken to receive a refund; most of the time it is within the 12 to 15 week time frame. The IRS website only shows that it is being processed. I’ve tried calling the IRS at the 800-829-1040 number and also the 800-829-1954 number but I just receive the same information that is available online. In the past I didn’t have a problem reaching a live representative, however, this year it appears impossible. Since most every one here on this forum has said that they have spoken with someone at the IRS, would you please divulge what number you used and prompts used to reach a live person? I must admit, I don’t like using prompts that will send me to a person not involved with refunds and then risk upsetting them. Can any one help with this or let me know how long it has been taking others to receive their refund? Thank you.

The IRS received my mailed form on 5/21/14 which I filed with an Injured Spouse Form. I called in July and asked the status. I was told (by a very rude person) that they did not receive my refund until 6/21/14 which is not true as I see the delivery date on USPS website. OK, so maybe that’s when the department received it. I asked when I could expect it and was told first of August. I called back the second week of August and was told that I was never told I would receive it the first week of August and it would be the last week of August or the first week of September. This was a bummer as my family was going on vacation the last week of August and I had really expected to use my refund for our trip. Still don’t have it. I called back again and was told September 11th – I am not holding my breath. The bad news is…my husband owed some child support, but we paid that in full so I no longer needed the Injured Spouse Form. I don’t know why it takes the IRS so long, but how much in interest and penalties would we be charged if we owed the IRS and took months and months to provide it??? (Not happy).

    Hi Nick,
After all that, have you received your refund? I filled my injured spouse on July 8th. I trying to figure out the status of my claim. Where can I call to get more info? Where did you call to get assistance on this? Thank you.

    #24428 Reply

So taxes were accepted on 4/15 electronically. I expected 10-12 weeks so I did not even bother to call until July 15th. Was told it was processing and I would need to call back in 30 days. I waiting until August 13th and called, and was told it had not been 30 days yet. Then I got a letter on August 15th telling me they had not completed and needed another 30 days. Currently showing an account balance in my favor and a code 570. Any suggestions on what I can do to help speed this along. Coming up on 5 months…

I filed a stand alone 8379 after I did an ammendment on my 2013 taxes. I was first told 45 days, so I allowed it. After not hearing anything I called back and was told to allow another 30 days, so I waited. After 30 days I called back to get another run around stating to give another 30 days. I got fed up so I kept calling everyday.. Finally I was transferred to the injured spouse department.. I talked to a guy who was really nice and he opened a case in their department, he said allow 2 weeks for my entire refund to be issued.. Suprisingly I called Friday and was told my case was closed and a pending refund is being issued to allow another week or two to receive it… Hoping it comes soon, Ive been waiting for too long for this refund..

Bills backed up and still waiting

I sent in my Injured Spouse form March 28, 2014 and they received it April 9, 2014. Then they started processing it April 16, 2014. I called at the end of May and they said that there was a credit on my account but they was not done completing my claim. I called back in June and they they said that my claim would take another 30 days and I should call back if I have not received anything by then. I called back on July 8, 2014 and they said my claim was still unprocessed and that i should give then another 30 days to complete my claim. Even though it has been while over the 45 days which was June 15, 2014. And know I have a Taxpayers Advocate to see why my claim have not been processed. So now it is almost 4 mo. in counting. So if you know the word of prayer please pray for me, and if you don’t keep your words to yourself. Thank you.

im still waiting. called the irs today to see if i could get and info. she was very nice and says after all the security questions that i had an adjustment to my account and told me the amount with i thought was low because im the injured spouse yes he made more money but he gets my education credit too. they say split down the middle my butt. im not even getting my ed credit let alone half. i do have a TA which was useless if i had to call the irs myself for updated info. i dont even care anymore its been to long of a wait. im suppose to be release next week sometime she says but didnt give me a date. it was a hour wait to talk to someone in the injured spouse dept i refuse to wait that long. next year if i do decide to work or go to school filing separate i will do he can have to kids finish paying his debt so we will not have this problem anymore. i didnt see any interest either so when it updates on the trannys hopefully i will tell me something. better than waiting on hold..

Mine was sent to a different person. She said to wait 30 more days. I was not a bit happy. They said it was a long process. uugh!!!!!! She did make some notes to maybe speed things along. But checked my refund status today and it still says being processed. I need the money!!!! My money.

Today makes exactly 13 weeks of checking the IRS website and it still shows me Nothing. Some people said it takes up to 14 weeks to process using Injured Spouse. I haven’t been able to get a return date, any codes ect. It still says that “A Refund Date Will Be Provided When Available”. Next Tuesday will be my 14 weeks mark. Does anyone know if I will atleast get a Direct Deposit Date by then or will it take even longer? Thanks

    Hi there,

It’s going on 12 weeks and I haven’t heard anything. The Where’s My Refund tool still just says my refund was applied to my spouse’s past due obligations…. I efiled on TurboTax and sent the injured spouse form in when I got the notification my refund was stolen by the government (I had no idea about my spouse’s student loans) about a month later. -__- Is this a bad sign?? Wouldn’t I at least get a letter either way (approved/denied)?? I’m worried and I need the money for my mortgage! :-/

    Thanks for your help.

    past 16 weeks, help!

I e-filed 16 weeks ago. I have called the IRSmultiple times and they claim that the return has “reached someone’s desk to be processed.” I am beyond stressed out as this money is used to pay half of my daughter’s private school tuition and topay bills. The last representative I spoke to said I can get interest back aftercomplaining that they charged me interest when I had to pay taxes in previous years. I am worried sick and I am at a lost as to what else I can do. A referral was started and can take 30 days! I can’t wait 30 days. ..

Filed taxes with the injured spouse form on March 6th. My husband called when it got to 11 weeks and they claim they didn’t get it for a week even though it was an e-file, so to call back “next week”. I’d been reading posts here and as of 2 weeks ago checking my transcript regularly. He called a week ago and they said to give them 30 more days. By Friday, the “as of” date on the transcript updated – June 23rd! From what I’ve read that means we should get it by (or maybe even before) then??

Still no DD date, or new code. WMR still says processing.

We filed March 25th 2014 using Injured Spouse
Today is June 6th 2014 And still Nothing.
It would be nice to hear something as long as the wait has been, Not to mention a date a date we can expect it to go Direct Deposit!

    hello to everyone still here.

no update really i filed on the 22nd of feb accepted in 27th of feb i got a referral on the 15th of may. my 11 weeks was on the 15 of may so i called to see what was going on was told nothing which i expected. i was told give them 30 days which then i asked for a referral and she said thats what the 30 days is. im on week 13 going on week 14 next week with still no change. i gave up and called for a TA yesterday. during that process i was told that IS forms really take five months and that the 11 weeks is really fast to process it. i faxed everything i needed to show hardship to the TA in my area and i will or suppose to get a call in the 4th of june. this is just to much to get money that is owed to you but they can take it so fast or garnish wages to get money from you but can give you whats due on time. i will be back with an update after i talk to the TA or see a change. good luck to all those thats still left waiting like me.

I called numerous times checking my injured spouse form. 1st time they said you should have your refund 45 days from when it went into processing, so if you don’t have it call back after ____________. So I call back and they say oh, we actually have 8 weeks from the day it went into processing so wait til ___________. Then I call in after that, please give us another 30 days I am noting 2 different accounts that you have been told to wait 30 more days… Seriously, I called and asked about my money so you automatically get 30 days even though you’ve already taken longer than I was told 2 other times!? I’m in a community property state, that makes it really easy, it is a 50/50 split! Why is it taking so long and why do you get another 30 days for no reason, you’ve already had this money interest free for a long time.
Sandra- I think you meant to say they will NOT be paying interest.

Looks like our transcripts are identical I’ve been trying to find out whether the refund will be by check or by direct deposit I mailed my form in separately as well and transcripts finally show the June 9th date I see someone said it will be by check oh sure hope it’s a receive by June 9th situation rather than issue June 9th lol keep me posted if u receive yours and I will do the same

    Good Morning to Everyone!!!
I have a few questions if someone can answer for me. My husband and I filed married jointly for the past 19 years. However, for 2012 and 2013 he had to file with an injured spouse form for the first time. For the 2012 taxes being busy forget to file so we waited to file with the 2013 taxes. The 2013 taxes were done electronically and the 2012 was done paper. Both years had the injured spouse forms. My questions are as followed I been checking with the WMR as of yesterday morning my refund status was approved for the amount and it gave us a day of DD as of May 29, 2014 however there was a topic 203. So the I check with the transcript for 2012 it has refund date June 9, 2014 and no offset of outstanding debt. So, to double make sure I call the offset automated hotline and it does say a offset has been applied to satisfy an outstanding balance on May 29, 2014 this is all my husband not mine and that is why we filed injured spouse. So, with all that said can the IRS take all our refund especially mine I did file the proper form for injured spouse. I need some suggestions in what to do next.

    #22956 Reply

WMR changed today saying they received out taxes and are preparing to send the check. I am just still worried they will find a way to keep them again to use on my husband’s student loans. He keeps checking the offset line everyday to make sure he’s still good. I just keep thinking they’ll add some debt the day before they make the check lol.

    #22947 Reply

Thank you. I sure hope we are getting them. I just hate to get my hopes up and be let down. It’s awful having to wait this long. We need so many things done around the house and we’ve just had to put it on hold.

Week 13…..I think I am crying a little…Blasted 570 code still looking at me with a $0.00…..then…nothing, so I called my friends at the IRS, they said….If you don’t receive your refund by July 1st give us a call again…..Blasphemy!

    #22939 Reply

@ Haley, yes your check should be mailed next Friday if you filed the IS form after you filed your taxes it is always a check.

    #22935 Reply

My husband filed our joint tax return back in January (I didn’t work all last year though and we have 2 children) and we were expecting our return on February 6th. Then we found out they were taking for my student loan debt. Well we were told to file an injured spouse form through Turbo Tax so we did then 8 weeks later we found out it had to be mailed in! We hurried up and mailed it in and they got it on April 7. It shows on our transcript that it was received so that is great. We have been playing the waiting game and finally today our transcript updated with a few different codes and a new cycle number along with a date of June 9. It says:

    290 Additional tax assessed 20142105 06-09-2014
    971 Notice issued 06-09-2014 $0.00
846 Refund issued 06-09-2014 $xxxx.xx (no minus sign so I’m not sure if that is good or bad because I thought a minus sign indicated a credit)
776 Interest credited to your account 06-09-2014 -$xx.xx

Does this mean we will be getting a return back? It is just so confusing. We have been waiting for what seems like forever.

Good luck on that…if those numbers meant anything I would have had my refund a couple months ago! Did you sign up for direct deposit or check? Your refund date will have a code 846 If that’s not there, no refund yet

    #22808 Reply

Did you have an 846 code? That means the refund has been released. My transcripts showed code 846 with a date of 5/19. I actually got the DD on 5/7. So may get your DD as early as tomorrow.

    #22803 Reply

I just saw that my information on my transcript was updated. It says 20142005 6-02-2014. Is this when I should expect my DD or check? How do I know which way they are sending it?

They told me it should be in my account on wed but was surprised the person working on my case hasn’t given any updates. It shows the money was returned from my wife’s college. All that is left is dd into my bank account. Gosh, I hate they never update or give us status on the case. SMH

I filed my taxes back on Feb 17th, sent IS after… IRS sat on it then moved it to wrong dept. I spoke to 25 people and nothing was done. Needless to say I finally got a TAS and he expects my refund to be issued by mid june…. SMH

Filed an IS form 2/28/14 due to (soon to be ex-) wife’s students loans. I filed the IS form by paper AFTER our refund didn’t come in from the original filing. Checked the IRS transcript and it says that the Refund was issued on 4/26/14. I have been reading many different scenarios in this forum, but none are exactly like mine. From what I have read here, though, it appears that 1) My refund check should be cut and sent to me 14-21 days after the refund is issued. Correct? 2) The check will be made out to both of us since we filed jointly and were not separated or divorced when the IS was filed. Correct?
Side note: this also happened 3 years ago with my loans. She hasn’t worked in 5 years but still filed an IS form to get some cash. The IRS gave her a couple thousand dollars which I just found out about last month. She hid the letter and must have forged my signature on the check or declared us divorced/separated which we weren’t. Attorney says nothing can be done. SMH.

@msj.o Hello I guess we’re in the same boat, I efiled 2/24 with an injured spouse and got accepted the same day, 3/12 I received a letter saying that my refund has been applied to a past due obligation, because of my husband’s school loan, and they ask me to send them an Injured spouse form again, so I did, they received it 4/02.. and I been checking my transcript for 3 weeks and it never updates.
This is what my codes in my transcript and still the same:
I called the IRS last week and they said it takes up to 8 weeks from the day they received my IS for me to receive my refund.

I am so tired of waiting…

We received our DD in our account on Wed morning. FYI. We filed Feb.6th. E-filed with injured spouse. accepted the same day. Did not hear anything for months. Transcripts updated to release code and the next week our DD was there. WMR never updated. We live in Texas but they gave us a little more than half our expected refund. Also, my name is not on his account but wells fargo let it go through. Good luck to everyone still patiently waiting.

Ok so I called today and finally spoke with a nice lady that put in a referral for me. She said it’s just sitting and has not been touched. Awesome…… they said they have 2-4 weeks to either refund or at least provide an answer. She said to give it a week and I can call back in for an update. Hope this helps.

    #22563 Reply

I electronically filed taxes & injured spouse form and was accepted on 2/14… I had an as of date on transcript of 3/10 and then that changed to 3/31. I have a code of 570 with a date of 3/10. I have had no change in transcript or any further information since then. WMR says the same ol’ “return still being processed, we’ll notify you of a refund date when it’s available” blah blah blah. I’ve called weekly, no further information can be provided. No work has been done on it. Told me to call back. It’s been almost 12 weeks… you would think they could provide SOME type of an update. Quick to take our money, but sure as he** can’t return it in a timely fashion. It’s never taken this long.

Ok. That’s also what mine says still. I was told by the IRS last week that they could deposit throughout the day. I just figured it’d be there by now.

Yes, last Friday it changed to …..Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank by May 7, 2014.
If your refund is not credited to your account by May 12, 2014, check with your bank to see if it has been received.
I just checked it again, and am still getting that same message.

It may be your bank. I was told May 7, and mine was in there last night. Finally after 3 months of waiting. Good luck to you all!

@ Somethings got to give, Call this # 1-800-829-1040, press 1 for english, 2 for personal taxes and then 000 it will transfer you to live rep but you may be have to hold, 15-30 min but they should give u some info.

    #22538 Reply

I called 800-829-1040 and just went on gut with the prompts, aiming for the one that would not lead me to an automated response. I sat on hold for a good 30 minutes, and finally someone helped. I was also accepted on 2/6 and my forms were just sitting on someones desk. No action at all, just sitting there waiting. She pushed through a referral, so now I am back on the waiting game.
Really furstrating that mine landed on a poor performer. Hopefully this shows up on his/her performance review.

I can give you what I do, I’m sure there’s a lot of these ways but I know this works.
Call 18008290922 then press 1 for English, 1 for next option, and then when it asks for social hit 0 then when it asks again hit 9. Then it will transfer you.
Good luck, I just found out yesterday that my case was done Friday and we were accepted 1/30. They were definitely in no kind of rush this year.

I filed electronically on February 6th with my injured spouse form and I am still waiting for my refund. I have tried all the numbers and just get rerouted back to the automated system where I get NO help. Any ideas? I have been waiting patiently and have not called or looked but now that I am already in May I would like some information. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    #22529 Reply

@cmbreede well that stinks, was definitely hoping a little sooner. But better than later, especially since I’ve been waiting since the end of January :(

    #22528 Reply

@chaddox your transcript should update this week and your check should mail next Friday the 16th or if dd it should be next wednesday the 14th. At least when mine closed that is how it went and most everyone else I have read about have been similar.

    #22527 Reply

Quick question for whoever is still around. Found out today that my case closed on 5/2. Typically how long do you think before I see my refund?

    #22507 Reply

Hey everyone I’ve been watching this forum for awhile now and I got a lot of good advice from here but i’m curious finally my transcripts all changed yesterday and today I have a DD but the refund amount on both is the full refund anyone know if that will change? On the refund page it says “Your refund may be reduced even further if you owe any past due obligations such as child support, another federal agency debt, or state income tax.” but shouldn’t I be able to see if they were going to take more with the injured spouse?

    #22506 Reply

As of date of 5/19, and WMR updated last night to DD of 5/7 :)
Good luck to the rest of you still in limbo.

    #22500 Reply

You are welcome @christina. For those still waiting their is a closed injured spouse group on Facebook with the most accurate information I have seen, I just ask to join and was accepted last night. After all the diff answers I kept getting about DD dates and etc, I finally got some real answers on their. Thought this might be helpful to someone. :)

    #22499 Reply

Well that’s good to know, hopefully next week I will find something out.

    #22497 Reply

Christina, can I ask what your as of date is, or the date next to your 846 if you have one? My date is 5/19, but I figured probably DD next week with a 2 week safety built in for them, hence why it is dated for so far away.

@chaddox- Our DD is 14 weeks for us. I finally found out something this week (13th)

Thanks @chasity. I was told something similar this morning. I called in and only spent 26 minutes total from dial to hang up on the phone. A really nice man told me that after he forced a refresh on the system, it showed we’d get a DD on Wednesday. I was so excited to hear an actual date. He said WMR would update tonight or tomorrow night.

    #22494 Reply

You are welcome @ Ashley. Good seeing people getting updates, I called and I am still in limbo, I am not gonna stress about it any longer, I guess they have to get it to me sometime. Praying for those who are still waiting also. :)

If you have 846 code for 5/19/2014 and you opted for DD it will be next WED the 7th but some banks release it on Tue, or if you get paper check it will be mailed next Friday the 9th. I got locked out of my transcripts so cannot view them until tomorrow. Boo :(

    #22489 Reply

@amht i think it will be next if you have DD, mine updated with the same code and date finally. I called last week on the 23rd and they said i would see the deposit 2 weeks from that day which would make it next week. :-) Finally its happening!!

    #22488 Reply

Transcripts finally giving me a 846 with a 5/19 date. WMR still hasn’t changed from the still processing screen. Hoping that the DD will be sooner than the 19th since I know others have gotten it sooner. 12 weeks by my figuring, but 11 weeks according to the IRS. I call BS that they were still working on it. I think they are finished, but are instructed to hold them to the last possible day they can. Most likely the handful of people that got them faster than 11 weeks had either a new processor or a sympathetic one.

    #22487 Reply

    Christina Hodge

I now have an isuue date on my transcripts of 5/19. Do i really have to wait an extra 17 days before I can get anything? It will have been a total of 15+ weeks for this crap.
Also there is a 290 code above the 846 code and when I looked it up this is what the description was: Denied either claim made on Form 843 or request for removal of penalty. Now 843 is this: Refund issued. It also says this : Reversal of erroneous TC 841. Date and amount must match those of the TC 841 being reversed.. And to help with that last code 841 well, this is what it says: Refund cancelled. Now, from all that and going backwards… did they try to take our refund and hold it longer? is that really what I gathered from all that?
I’m excited that there is an 846 code, BUT when will I really get it? I’ve heard from so many that it’s not the correct date.

    #22481 Reply

@AhhleyM go to IRS website and go to transcripts, you can view them online or receive by mail. :)

Where can I find my transcripts everyone is talking about aside from the where is my refund page? Thanks!

    #22479 Reply

We filed 2/12 but IS department didn’t receive it until 2/20 so the man told me on the phone yesterday my 11 weeks was not up until next Thursday and he said they finished ours on 4/22 and it could take 2-3 weeks to get refund, but he could not find an amount so I do not know what to believe. He said their system updated over the weekend and to call back Monday if WMR did not update. I cannot access my transcripts today and WMR has not updated. I think those IRS people do not know what they are doing.

    #22477 Reply

I filed 2/4, and have received nothing. I filed through Tax Act, and was accepted immediately. I check the transcripts, and finally shows our wages for 2013, but that is about it. It still has no record of our return. I check the WMR periodically, and still has no record of our tax return. This is the first year I filed a IS form. My husband is a self-employed truck driver, and so thought maybe that is why it’s taking so long. I have no idea. I called a few weeks ago, and the woman said she could find no record, but yet our return was accepted on 2/5. Very strange…

    Christina Hodge

hi. Did you ever get it? Was anything updated?

    #22472 Reply

    Christina Hodge

I am still here waiting. I’ve been watching this forum for a few weeks now hoping to get some incite on what’s going on with my IS form. NOTHING! We are 12 weeks in and no changes have been made to WMR or the transcripts since it was accepted on Feb 5. I spoke to a manager who informed me that the 11 weeks they say it takes is for processing only. They are allotted 2-3 weeks after the initial 11 weeks to provide you with a return date. So, I’ve been told if I see nothing to call back Monday. She said the system updates over the weekend. I’m tired of having to call to see if they are doing their job. It really doesn’t take 2-3 weeks to generate a refund, its the slow people behind the system.

Has anyone gotten any good news recently? Or are you all still in IRS limbo, still waiting like I am?

Just got off the phone. IRS has a funny way of rewriting the dates.
E-filed and accepted on Thursday Feb 6th. So to me, my 11 weeks was up last Thursday April 24th.
According to the IRS rep I spoke to last Friday, they received it Monday Feb. 10th, so my 11 weeks was up today. and they advised me to call back today.
According to the IRS rep I spoke to today, IS unit received it on Thursday Feb 13th, so my 11 weeks isn’t up until Thursday May 1st.
BUT….they tell you 3 weeks for your taxes and an ADDITIONAL 8 weeks for the IS portion for a total of 11 weeks. Then why wasn’t my time up 8 weeks after the IS unit received it, which should be Thursday April 10th.
The problem is, they know nobody is going to make waves, because they assume most people are ashamed of the fact that they had to file IS form to begin with.
We adjusted our withholdings, to try and avoid the whole tax refund process, so we wouldn’t have to play the waiting game. But my child started college, so we now have the Education credit that gives us money back that we weren’t expecting. I hate to readjust our withholdings, because that would be the year that they end the Ed Credit, and I’d end up owing them thousands. Do ou think they’d let me take 11 extra weeks to pay???

    #22444 Reply

That’s exactly the answer I got. But the lady did say that once that referral is made they tend to wrap things up fast. So I guess we will see

    #22443 Reply

11 weeks last week. Called this AM and they are doing a referral. 30 more days I guess…

    #22442 Reply

Roll call! How many people are past their 11 week time frame? I am, the only thing they told me was give it 30 more days! Why give a time frame at all? All last week I expected it. Really bummed and tired if waiting.

I had offset for student loan for 1335.89 this year…I am not currently working and haven’t for 18 months so I did not need to file, now this is the 3rd year they have taken out the same 1335.89 which is TOTAL what I owed….also 3rd year to file injured spouse….. have NEVER got anything back, and get run around through 10 telephone transferred …after waiting on hold for over a hour….the IRS has stolen over 2600 from me by taking the 1335,89 out for the past 3 years….but I will NEVER see that money….consider yourself lucky if you get it back in 11 weeks…try waiting 3years for it….GOOD LUCK and be cautions when next year rolls around…they will keep stealing money form you …they will take out same amount ever year after year…they {IRS workers) have NO CLUE what they are doing…

Accepted 2/4; first dates on transcripts codes were listed as 2/24 with no update after 3/31. Called Tuesday and was told it was out of IS department and a credit was issued. Could take 2-3 weeks to see it post via DD. As of today no update to WMR, however transcripts up dated over night to show a release date of 5/12. Hope this is encouraging.

Update/question: quick backstory,me filed IS on Feb 6, accepted same day. Cycle was 20140705. Sat at additional account action pending since 3/3. Last update march 31 until this morning. Now we have code 840 (not 846 that I see you guys speak of) with an amount dated 4/21 and new “as of” date is May 12. WMR has not updated, still says processing. When we filed TT we asked for DD. Does anyone know if 1) we will still get DD 2) when it sounds like we can hopefully expect the amount shown? This ism our first year, sorry for the questions… They don’t make this self explanatory (to. Me at least!) TIA!!

Well i called the IRS today and today marked 11 weeks, the lady told me it finished processing yesterday and should post to my account in the next few days, transcripts still haven’t updated at all, I’m thinking tomorrow night i will see an update on their. :-)

    #22377 Reply

Update.. maybe :) I called the IRS this morning. She says that the IS dept has done my adjustment but there is no date on it. Whatever that means. She also told me that the adjusted refund amount is more like 3/4 of our expected refund but it should have been half because we live in Texas? She stated that now that it has been adjusted it could take them a week for quality control to confirm the calculations are correct and then they will schedule a date of release and confirm mode of deposit. I think I have more questions now than I did before I spoke to them. It’s been over 11 weeks and I still have not received ANY updates or correspondence from the IRS at all. I would think I should have received a letter about my student loans by now? She closed the conversation by telling me that if I have not recieved my refund in 3 weeks to call back then. :) My question is.. am I making any progress at all? Why would they do the adjustment but not date it? is it common practice that after the IS dept does the calculations, they then send it on to a quality control dept. before it’s dated and confirmed to be released? I’m so confused. She could not tell me at all that the IS dept has officially “closed” my case as I have seen others say on here.

I just got off the phone with the IRS and I am upset. I called at the 45 day mark they say they put a referral in the system for it to be finished in another 30days. I call back in 15 and verify that the referral went through. No it didn’t. And they keep saying the person advised me to call back after 30 days. It will be 30days on the 2nd. I call today and she asks has anyone ever been in a combat zone. Why would that have anything to do with it? Now she is putting another note in the system and I have to wait another 30 days. This system to be is bogus. All I want to get is my portion back.

    #22365 Reply

I have been looking over this site for a few weeks. I filed electronically in February. We got the notification that due to his student loans it would be offset. I then mailed in the IS form which I thought was supposed to be the fastest way and I am still waiting. They received the form 2-18-2014. The funds were dispersed 2-24-2014. Is it that they are waiting to get the money back? This is my first time filing the form so I am a little confused. Our formal wedding is in june and I need this money ASAP to make sure we are good to go. Is there anyone else out there that mailed their form in?

Well still waiting! Really beginning to lose hope! Tomorrow marks the end of 11 weeks, Friday is the start of week 12. I called and they said that it showed it was still being processed and that they couldn’t see any alerts or any errors. They said I just have to wait. They said that if nothing happens call back on Monday.
    So that’s where I am!

Ok so got the letter saying how much I would get and that it would be sent in a couple of weeks. Then a few days ago the TOP had already taken their portion. WMR never updated, and tranny never updated again. However woke up this morning and checked my bank and it was deposited sometime after midnight. So there is a light at the end. It will end for all very soon. Thanks for being here!!! Many blessings!!!

I believe that means that after applying part of the refund to your debt, they DD/mailed the balance to you 2/19. Now, after filing the IS form, if the injured spouse qualifies they will take back what they paid to the debt and issue a second refund.
That is how our state refund works. They pull the money for the old debt, but actually hold it for 60 days before sending them the funds. It gives us time to file the IS spouse form, and adjustments are made.

To all of those depending on what your transcripts tell you, take my advice, DON’T, because as I stated Thursday 4/17, I called someone in the payments dept. that morning to set up a payment plan for back taxes, I just thought they would come out of my taxes. Oh yeah, I also e-filed tax form and IS form on 1/28. When she was explaining how the fee to set it up works, she noticed that it was on hold to be taken out of my refund, so she sent me to a different dept. The guy there told me that yes it was being deducted from my refund, and even told me the amt. of my refund. It would be a paper check, cause it was done manually. Said if nothing posts for my refund to call back a week from Monday. Said it would be about 3 more weeks. So I just figured, okay, already going into 11 weeks from filing { was told by 2 reps that 11 weeks is from filing }, so what’s another 3 weeks. Checked my transcripts, as of 4/28 and no 846 code. But LO and BEHOLD, check was in the mail that afternoon. So I say anything could happen. GOOD LUCK to all those waiting, I HOPE you get yours soon. And thanks to all those on this site, it’s nice to know your not alone in this madness, I even made a small donation after getting my refund. Thanks for helping me keep my sanity.

I found this at Turbo Tax. It gives the DD days and the paper check days…..
Now, when WMR updates: yes, WMR updates every night. HOWEVER, Those nightly updates are ONLY for acknowleding acceptances. WMR only updates for approvals and DDDs on certain days. Overnights: Wednesday (into Thursday morning) , Thursday (Into Friday Morning) , Friday (into Saturday Morning), and Saturday (Into Sunday morning). These are the ONLY times you should expect to see an update for a DDD. They have been direct depositing 4 days a week – Mon-Thurs. This is they only way it’s being done:

The Overnight Wednesday Update will give a DDD for the follwing Monday

The Overnight Thursday Update will give a DDD for the following Tuesday

The Overnight Friday Update will give a DDD for the following Wednesday

The Overnight Saturday Update will give a DDD for the following Thursday

There are NO Friday direct deposits, they issue paper checks on Fridays and do not issue DDD’s for fridays (Though they *may* send a Monday direct deposit on aFriday to ensure bank credits by Monday) You also want to note that the IRS sends you the direct deposit by those DDD’s but your bank may hold them for up to 3 days.

Well I called the TOP number and the offset portion has already been applied to my debt. So now I am just waiting for a direct deposit or check in the mail for the injured spouse portion. I had gotten a letter in the mail stating the amount and that it would be sent in a couple weeks. So I do not know if I will get a dd or paper check. I did however efile both forms, so we shall see.

Glad to know I’m not alone. My 11 weeks went by Friday the 18th. Spent an hour on hold before someone came to the phone. The representative named John, told me that he was sending a message to the department with the file stating that their 11 weeks are up. He then informed me, that after the message, they have another 30 days to finish it up.

Is it just me, or in most businesses, if you don’t meet your deadline, don’t you get fired. Only in the government, do you get 30 extra days to complete a job you should have done in 11 weeks. There has been no change in my transcript from the jump. So, I guess we just sit and wait.

    #22338 Reply

I was told this morning that the 11 weeks starts the “day they receive your return”. My efile was accepted 2/6, but they say they didn’t receive it until 2/10, so my 11 weeks starts then.

    #22337 Reply

I don’t think you will be needing to call back, the 846 is your refund.
To answer the other question about time frame I’m not sure. I was originally told it was from the day you filed, however now I’ve been told it is from the time the is department gets it. Ie I filed and accepted the 31st, but my 11 weeks started 2/06. Which means times up Thursday, but no change here for me yet.
@kew sorry went in wrong spot

    #22336 Reply

@Kew – I won’t be able to answer the others because I’m still trying to figure out when the 11 week timer starts on my return. But – an 846 means that your refund has been released and will be sent your direction.

    Hello to all
I am new and I have actually been visiting this forum for the past 2 weeks for info about the 2014 injured spouse Refund situation. So here goes nothing….
    Filed 2/4/14
    Accepted 2/6/14
“we have received your tax return and it is being processed” 2/10/14 thru 2/16/14
“Your tax return is still being processed refund date will be provided when available” 2/16/14 thru 4/18/14
So now it went back to “we have received your tax return and it is being processed”
Then went to check my transcripts and so far code 846 refund issued 05/05/14
Called today….”Well, i doesn’t really count until the full 11 weeks have passed, if you don’t get an update by tomorrow, call us back”
Okay, so now i am really confused

1: if you are saying wait after the full 11 weeks, why are you telling me to call the day after tomorrow…wouldn’t that be next week?
2: Is it true that the transcripts are not helpful?
3: So is the DDD true on the Transcripts or not?
4: Why did my cycle date change from 20140605 to 20141605?
5: is the code 846 a good thing?

I would really appreciate any feedback/advice or information that you have received from a less rude irs customer service rep.
This is our first year filing, anything that would put the hope back into our hearts
    Thank you in advance =]]

This is my first year filing injured spouse. My tax transcript has not been updated since March 31st.

    Here are my codes:

    150 Tax Return Filed – Cycle 20140705 – Date 03/03/2014
    806 W-2 or 1099 Witholding – Date 04/15/2014
766 Credit to your Account – Date 04/15/2014
766 Credit to your Account – Date 04/15/2014
    768 Earned Income Credit – Date 04/15/2014
570 Additional Account Action Pending Date 03/03/2014

I filed electronically online on 02/06/2014, I requested a paper check and did not receive anything in the mail from the IRS (except for State, which is a different process)

I am not sure how long I have to wait before seeing an update or seeing my return. I’m the only income bringer, so my husband’s offset shouldn’t apply since he didn’t have any income last year. I know I have to wait, but I just wish I knew for how long. Does anyone know if it is 11 weeks from the 03/03/2014 date or from when it was accepted originally on 02/06/2014?

I am so irritated. Cycle Date 20140605, filed and accepted 1/31. no updates other than as of since February. Called last week and was told case closed on 4/15. Called back again and was told they needed to place a referral because when the IS department closed case they didnt assign a date to release funds. I am so upset. We expected the $ at the latest last Friday, now to find out it could be another 30 days? I really cant take it. I am hoping that it is going to update soon, she told me most updates are on Fridays, however they can manually update sometimes. It seems like many of us who filed early are getting our back the latest. Makes me wonder if our cases were done really early and they just held them the 11 weeks to not pay us. I cant even begin to understand what type of queue system the IRS uses. Backwards like most government functions apparently.

Cant access transcripts because they locked me out. Keeps telling me info doesnt match when it does. So all I have been able to do is call….

The mailman brought me my long awaited Refund today! I can FINALLY buy me a stove!

I want to thank each and everyone of you fine folks for keeping my hopes up when I was in the depths of despair, for educating me when I was lost in the lingo, and for just being YOU!

I will continue to pray for speedy refunds for the remainder of our merry band!

    #22320 Reply

Well, good news in that my transcript finally updated with the 846 code with a date of 5/5. If I’m understanding correctly the first code amount is what I’ll get back and the 2nd is my husband’s… but that means the majority of our refund will go to my husband’s debt. The confusing part is I earned the majority of the income and was getting about that amount back before I added his income. I’m guessing I filled something out wrong on the IS form concerning deductions or something. Does anyone have suggestions for the future?

It will all be good! Hell I have been waiting since January 28th O_O and mine just updated a few days ago…. there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there !! :)

Getting very discouraged here. It seems like so many have DD dates, and nothing has changed on my transcripts in over a month. My 11 weeks is up next Thursday. Praying for a miracle.

    #22297 Reply

My transcript updated overnight, the only that changed was the “As of:” date previously it said 4-28, now it says 5-5, The 846 code still has a date of 4-28.

    #22295 Reply

no, I believe it will be a paper check. I had to send mine I last year after an offset for my husbands debt. They sent me a check, even though I did DD. This year I got a check also even though I e-filed both together cause I owed back taxes, and was told it was done manually. Next year I am hoping for a DD, since I have no tax obligation now, and all income earned is mine. I do not live in a community property state.

    #22294 Reply

If I mailed in the injured spouse form is it possible that the IRS would still try to DD the funds? I finally got an update on my transcript today but it only had 766, 290 and 971 dated for 05/05/14. No 846. Should I be worried? Will I be getting a refund soon?

    #22290 Reply

    Truelee Blessed

So does that mean the first 846 refund is mine and the second 846 refund is my husbands? I am hoping to get a letter, but I do not think I will, telling me how much we will get, since there is not code for notice being sent. Hmmm makes me wonder though I am still in the dark a bit… but glad to see they are moving forward…. although the lady told me their deadline for my refund was the 24th and may 5th is two weeks later. Oh another question if anyone knows… I filed for direct deposit and since I efiled I know they will, my question is will my bank accept it…. I have a walmart money card which the account is only in one name, mine. However, my husband is a cardholder as well, so does that count?

    #22287 Reply

@deirdre my case closed on March 25 and my transcript updated April 4 then WMR updated April 5th with a DD of 4-9 which was correct until my bank rejuected it because both names were not on my account. So hopefully an update for you next week. I am waiting on my check now should be mailed today I hope. So if yours goes like mine closed one week update the next and DD the following Wednesday if you are getting a paper check it should be mailed the Friday following your transcript update.

    #22285 Reply

@ MaryLA028. The IRS WMR site did not update the status. It still said refund processing when I received the refund and transcripts.

    #22284 Reply

Still no update this morning on WMR, cant get into transcripts, so I called. Today is 11 weeks. IRS lady says my case closed on Tuesday the 15th, but I wont have a date until system updates, whatever that means. So I see a rainbow. I was also told i get my full refund back because the debt was for my student loans and my husband is the only one working now.

Anyone know how long it takes after “case closed” to DD?

    #22283 Reply

So I got CP21 letter today. Mention of refund 2-3 weeks but not check or DD. WMR still says refund processing.

    #22282 Reply

@deveny WMR probably will not update for you. From what I have seen shen you mail the form in seperate once it goes to processing I don’t think it updates again. But with the refund issued date of 4-28 it should be mailed today. You are welcome I know exactly how stressful this is I am the only working and it is his debt. But it looks like the end is near for both of us hopefully Monday or Tuesday.

    #22281 Reply

@cmbreede My WMR went from offset to processing but nothing has been updated. It’s the unknown that puts a knot in your stomach that you have to walk around with for months and weeks at a time. I think I have contracted my first grey hair this year.
Thanks so much for your input and help! I appreciate YOU!

    #22280 Reply

@deveney a check should be mailed today. my bank rejested my dierect deposit and my transcript updated to refund issued 4-28 like yours. And now WMR has updated to say a check will be mailed by 4-18 which is today. From what all I have read the checks are mailed on Friday and most people are recieving them on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. So hopefully you will recieve it very soon.

I am hoping beyond hope that a notice or even possibly a paper check will be mailed to day. This is the first year my family and I have had to file IS. I have tried to teach myself the ins and outs by lurking and watching forums such as this.
I get lost in the lingo, so many codes get spoken of that I do not see on my transcripts like 570,571,768 etc. (All my dreams of late are of numbers!!!)
That I do not see on my transcripts which make me fear that I will have additional delays. The offset is mine, but I made no money, all the income was my husbands, I live in Kansas so there is no community property to tend with. I pray for each of you every night, because one does not understand the stress unless they have lived with it. My hats off to each of you that contend with the process year after year.
But I am hoping that maybe a few of you can help me decipher the codes on my transcripts to see if I might encounter additional delays?

Transcripts say a notice issued 4-28, but no idea if that means I should have gotten by now, I am just soooo lost, stressed, and borderline desperate. ANY help at this point is WAY beyond appreciated and helpful!

11 weeks and one day today. Same as most everyone else. We married at the end of November. I have defaulted student loans. This is the first year filing injured spouse. I don’t work. All our income is my husbands. Filed and accepted both our joint return as well as the injured spouse form using turbotax and e-file on 2/6. Cycle code: 20140705. WMR lost bars shortly after filing and no movement or communication since. It has the usual ” being processed and will let me know when a refund is issued”. No codes or further info. I check my transcripts every morning. :) Normal codes for credits and a 570 code dated for 3/3/14. I have not received any letters. I called one time last week just to confirm they are processing it. Was told it could take 13 weeks from the time THEY (not when the irs accepted it) received it which would be around the end of May. He said they got it 3/15 :( Turbo Tax took the fees outta our checking account the other day because it took so long. We live in Texas which is a community property state so they are already gonna take half the refund to send to my student loans.

Still no update for me :(
This is getting really sad. But I’m happy to see some early filers getting updates, gives me hope! Had a dream last night that I got it next Thursday, so we will see. That will be a day from week 12 lol

Does anyone know which 846 code would be my husband and I’s refund. When I filed the IS form I allocated the dependents and exemptions to him. That way only one would be mine and three would be his. I was hoping this would make the amount of the refund larger. Any help?!?

Ok so my transcripts finally updated with an as of may 5th, there are two 846 codes but yet there is no “898 code- refund applied to non-IRS debt” … so still not sure exactly when or how I will get my refund or how much, but it will be something :) …. WMR site still not updated , will check in the morning. I was an early filer accepted on 1/28… bout damn time!

This is for Ashley, call the number on the letter. I finally did this morning, that’s how I actually found out. I kept ignoring them too. just figured that they would take from refund. That might of been the reason for mine taking so long. I told them that I just thought they would deduct it from my refund Called to see about setting up a payment arrangement, then she saw that my refund was on hold for the debt, transferred me to another dept, said yes, at least 3 more weeks. If nothing in a week, then call a week from Monday. So I just figured another 3 weeks, at least its being done, but manually. checked transcript this morning, no 846 refund code, called offset #, no offset, checked wmr and said still processing. Then lo and behold a paper check in my mail box. Was told if they have to do it manually, paper check. So try calling and see what happens. Good luck, I hope it comes soon.

    #22269 Reply

if you owe taxes like I did, then they are being done manually. Have you called the offset number? Of course that might not mean anything either, cause when I called today, they said no offset could be found. Just keep your hopes up.

    #22268 Reply

Hey guys, got my check in the mail today. I was totally surprised, didn’t expect for another 3 weeks. Funny thing is my transcripts never showed a 846 refund code. I know, cause I checked this morning. So I say as far as those of us who filed IS form, anything can happen. I guess for me, the transcripts totally meant nothing. I already pd off 2 of my debts, a couple more to go, then new house here I come. I am doing the sweat equity thing where I have to build about 70% of my home. No it is not habitat. You have to have workable income. I am praying for the rest of you that you get the surprise like I did.

    #22265 Reply

Filed and accepted 1/31. Cycle date 0605, processing 2/24, as of 3/31. No letter, no refund, no updates since I filed. Talked to IRS got 11 week bs. I told them I hardly believed they could get me my $ by tomorrow if WMR and Transcripts haven’t updated.

Told me to call Monday. I asked what sort of queue system they were using when people who filed later and mailed paper 8379 are getting theirs back sooner. She asked if they filed 8379. I told her there was an entire forum of people in my same boat.

Maybe this forum will force IRS to make some sense in how they do things… Waiting and need the $…..

    #22264 Reply

I’m still holding on too, no updates of any form. now that i remember I did receive a letter maybe like a month regarding a small tax bill that was due, and never called. do you think that this could be holding it up. i just figured they would take it out of my refund.

    #22262 Reply

Well, I finally got some good news. I called to see about setting up a payment plan for some back taxes due. When she went to pull up my account, she saw they a hold on my taxes for it. So transferred me to a different dept. The guy told me that yes there is a hold. My taxes are being done manually. He even gave me the balance of my refund amt. I will get a check because of it being done that way, cause I owed back taxes, which I knew. He said about three weeks for my refund. Told me to call a week from Monday, which will be 4/28, to make sure it has posted by then. I can’t believe this madness is almost over. I have waited 11 weeks since filing. What’s 3 more. Since I am getting a paper check, I am assuming that is why the 3 weeks. Now I have something to look forward to. Got to pay some debts, so I can get my house. By the time it gets here I won’t have much left to pay. Need a VACATION bad. So to all those still out there waiting, yes Dorothy, there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

    #22258 Reply

I am still waiting. The only thing that changes on my transcript is the as of date. Which is now 4/28. Tomorrow will be 11 weeks since filing. I am calling them tomorrow. I have yet to see any real change. This is just way too long. I hope to get some answers out of them, cause the 4/28 would be going on 12 weeks. I was told by 2 reps the 11 weeks is from the date they accept your return. Which they said was not till 1/30 for me. So yes I am still waiting for the stupid people at IRS to finish my return. Especially when there are those that filed way after I did with the IS form and are already getting or have gotten their returns.

    #22257 Reply

Hello….I e-filed 1/30/2014 with IS form 8379. WMR had processing for what felt like FOREVER. It updated eventually to DD 3/5/2014. Received a letter that the full amount of refund will be offset spouse debt.

Today is 4/16/2014 = No DD. No further letters.

I have filed before and did not take this long.

Should I resubmit my 8379 form?

    #22256 Reply

I have been aroundd since feb. I was just lurking thingkig that I could get info and it wouldnt take that long and would have posted by now. I filed on feb 22 but didnt get received untill the 27th of feb. Was told that when I finally called the first time. Its been 7 weeks for me and this is my first time filing the IS form. My husband is the one with the debt. When i called yesterday around 530pm the very nice guy looked up my account and said the whole spiel of 11 weeks. I told him I knew about that but havent gotten a letter or anything. After researching my account he says that I will get a letter or something stating whats going on but it was still very early. Also that it says processing but no one is working on it cause its still early. He tells me that if I do get sometime it would be the end of may. I assume I cant count cause the 15th is kinda in the middle? No worries I told him ill wait. 4 weeks to go just thought it would be atleast looked at and not pushed to the side. So if its not done by the 11th week or already sent to me he says I referral will be put in. Suppose to push someone to finish the process. I am very thankful to have you all thats on this forum that have voiced your experiences cause I was checking like crazy and keep seeing the dreaded 570 code. It was still there last time I checked Still waiting so ill be here and give an update when I have one. Hopefully a letter will come soon enough.

    #22255 Reply

The letter was stating that there would be a refund issued in 2 to 4 weeks

    #22251 Reply

What was the letter for? If it was stating that you were getting your return, it’s probably a check. And my own experience is that you will receive it within days of the letter.

Does anyone happen to have a number we could call to try to get an update. I have called all the numbers I’ve found online and the number on the form I received back in the mail and no one knows what’s going on. They said they can’t even tell me if they’ve received everything and it’s fine? We filed on Feb 19th. I got a thing back in the mail stating I had to fill out an extra form. They received that form March 21st. That week the one person I did talk to said they received it and to call back in about a week and they’d be able to answer a few questions. Well since then I’ve been calling and everyone keeps telling me they can’t tell me anything or even if they have all the documents they need? My husband is the ‘injured spouse’ and he was the only one with a ‘real job’ {I own my own business from home} so everything was done in his name. I was told by the first person I spoke to, it would be pretty cut and dry as it was all ‘his’ money being paid into federal etc. We filed in WA state where he is stationed if that matters. Any advice/insight would be appreciated!

I vowed to not check mine until Friday….that lasted all of 30 minutes. I compulsively check it every single morning, even though I know it only updates certain days.
It worries me that my As Of date hasn’t changed in forever. It seems like a lot of the people that got refunds, their as of date changed shortly before.

Hi all, figured I’d share that I was an “as of 4/21” for refund sent and got it in the mail today. Looks like it was sent out Friday. I also received a letter on Saturday stating what my refund amount would be. I initially filed on 3/5 and they received my IS form on 3/10, I’m not sure if it went so quickly because I filed so late but I think I’m going to do the same next year!

    #22218 Reply

So I called today, shortest hold time ever (7 minutes). The lady was super nice and told me for some reason they received my form on the 6th of February and that the 11 weeks started then. She said she didn’t see any holds or reasons why it was taking so long. But she said someone is actively working on it as we speak. She told me to wait 10 more days and call back and they can request the worker to call, but that they have 30 days to respond. But she said they have been very diligent about the 11 weeks. So we will see

    #22217 Reply

    @chaddox Same here, just a waiting game……

    #22216 Reply

Im new to this specific group an I’m looking for some insight. We filed as soon as we could but did not file with IS form because I forgot I had an offset until a couple days before the adjusted amount was deposited into our account. We were in the middle of moving so we couldn’t fill out the IS form until 2/24 and thats the date we mailed it in. On our transcript it shows they received the IS form on 2/28. We haven’t heard anything from them about whether they are going to approve it or deny it. Its my debt from a Star card (military exchange) that I got shortly after we got married but my husband isn’t connected to the account in any way. My husband made all of the income minus 2000 dollars that I made. I heard it takes 8 weeks when you file the IS form seperate but that it is taking longer this year. So basically here are some questions, will I receive a letter if its approved or denied? Will it come In check form if it is approved? Has anyone mailed in the IS form after the fact and gotten any news? Also, we filed out the IS form with our new address and they updated our address on our transcripts so I know they have actually looked at the form so far. But haven’t heard anything else! Oh and we don’t live in a community property state.

    #22212 Reply

@Jericho, I hope your right, cause the thing is I still don’t have a 846 code. It just upsets me that people who filed later with same form, are already getting their refunds. Don’t get me wrong, I am really happy for everyone who’s wait is finally over, but I feel like they are saving mine down to the last wire.

Yeah your right, who knows who is telling the truth. Either way this is absolutely ridiculous and hopefully the rest of us get some type of update. I notice a lot get updated over the weekend, so my fingers are crossed to see something tomorrow. This is very tiring. I think if I do not see an update when I wake up tomorrow, I am going to call again.

    #22205 Reply

All of the 5 people that I’ve talked to said that the 11 week time frame start when the IRS accepts the return, not the IS department. That 11 weeks is from beginning to end. Now who knows which reps are accurate. But let’s hope next week!

    #22203 Reply

    Truelee Blessed

I was told the 11 week thing as well… but I was also told that the IS department did not start accepting them until Feb 6th, by a rep in the IS department… so 24th should be the last day or she said I should call back do the tax advocate thing and get a referral which takes two more weeks… so fingers crossed it comes on time

    #22200 Reply

I filed 2/10, accepted same day. My 570 has a date of 3/10 and my as of date says 3/31. No updates in 4 weeks and I am headed into week 10. The full amount is still showing and the WMR still has the processing message. I spoke to the IRS two weeks ago and the lady told me it looks like it had been completed. When I called a week later, the man told me that there is no way anyone could say it has been completed because it says it’s still processing. I have recieved no letter from the IrS and sent both in together efiled. I don’t understand how others are getting them already and filed way after me. When do the transcripts update again? This is beyond frustrating and I really need the money! They told me they have until April 28th. But people are moving quicker this year but I’m almost at the limit. I have it set for direct deposit but my husband is not on that account. Reading previous posts, shows me that others have been denied direct deposit and have been sent a check in mail, adding more time!

    #22199 Reply

@chaddox Looks like we’re still in the same boat. No updata on trans, still 3/31 and 570 on 2/24. This is getting ridiculous. There have been many who filed IS and have their money already. I guess we got stuck in the early file glitch plus already have the longer wait because of IS form. I guess our hope for this week is gone, but maybe next week. Will update if I see anything different, keep me posted too.

    #22198 Reply

So Friday will mark 11 weeks. But still haven’t recieved any updates! The last person I spoke to said I would have my refund by the 11 week mark. Has anyone gotten those with this little time left and no uodate? Last update was 570 on 2/24

The same thing just happened to us. Filed with turbo tax 2/6 and filed the injured spouse. It was my debt and it was all my husbands income and the letter says we can file the injured spouse my mailing it in, but I thought we already sent it in. Why would they keep the return so long and than take it? I am so confused.

We have pretty much the same dates Truelee Blessed. My return accepted 2/6, processed date of 3/3 and as of date of 3/31. IRS told me the same thing, the 20 something of April. She said if I don’t have it by May 1st to call back then.

It just dawned on me, as I see more and more people on here get their refunds before me who filed after me, that it depends on which office you get sent to.
Does anybody know if eFiling is the same as the paper returns? That depending on which state you live in, that determines which office processes your return.
I live in Michigan, so if I mailed my forms, they’d go to Cincinnati. I wonder if the same rings true when I efile.
Maybe we should start putting states in our posts, see if a pattern develops.
I have visions of my forms filed early in February sitting at the bottom of an In box somewhere, with newer ones being piled on top.

My WMR said my refund was deposited to my bank the 9th it is now the 11th and there is nothing in my Account. I checked my routing and account number and they are right and my bank says once it comes it will go right through so why is it not there?

@dazedandconfused yes I am pretty sure that if you mail it in then they send paper checks. So your check should go out next Friday 4-18-14. But I think if you keep watching WMR then you will see an update there as well. But I am pretty sure you will get a paper check sent out next Friday.

@cmbreede So if I mailed the IS form in then it will be a paper check? Here are my dates 766 (reversal) 4/15 and 846 on 4/28.

@dazedandconfused I can’t give you a for sure yes. However from everything I have read and what happened for me I am pretty sure it will be the 16th. My transcipt updated last Friday and then WMR updated Saturday giving a dd of 4-9. If you mailed your form in then you will recieve a paper check which will be mailed next Friday. My bank just screwed mine up and rejected the deposit. So I now have to wait on a paper check that will probably come in about 2 weeks.

@cmbreed Is that for sure? If there is an 846 code and refund date for 4/28, will it be DD on Wednesday 4/16?
