    I called the number and extension I posted after I got of work yesterday. 45 minute wait. The man helping me was very nice but I think he was new because he kept asking someone,” Is that right?” or “Where do I get that information?” . He was not in the injured spouse department but was able to see that they had my form and said it looks like it is in the final stages. So I guess this isn’t an injured spouse specific number. Sorry about that! He also said most injured spouse forms are taking about 8 weeks this year. Oh! I also looked at WMR today and it had changed BACK to the message from before(Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available) and the number and extension from yesterday are gone now.

    Btw I have a TA once you get one they are the only ones you can talk to and it takes weeks for them to return calls I got mine about 2 weeks ago then I got a call last week to let me know they will call me on April 11th so if you can avoid getting one at this point I would its great to get one in the beginning when you file I saw people with a TA get their refunds in about 5 weeks did anyone try the number Kris posted and get thru? Make sure you ignore the promos if you are calling most numbers that is the only way to talk to a live person

    I called the 1040 number to ask about the cycle date thing on my transcripts it didn’t have anything to do with my return I called the innocent spouse line on accident they gave me the injured spouse line # they said it was the 829-0922

    @pamela79 thats not just for injured spouses its for everyone but I thought you said you called and talked to someone today? About the cycle dates? Nt saying youre fibbing but maybe it was the 8003043107 # and they just recently started putting the option for injured spouses to call the IRS at the 1040 # because they wanted us to stop calling them at the offset number.

    My WMR status changed from the processed message, to the received message then today to: We are unable to give you information on your refund. Please wait 4 weeks until after filing to call for information about your refund. I filed the 25th of Feb electronically with the Injured Spouse attached. It then said, ” If you would like additional information about your refund please call 1-800-829-0582 and ask for extension 362. Not sure if this is helpful! I can’t call until after work but will let you know what I find out after that if the information is helpful

    So I called and one of the options said f you are calling about an injured spouse claim press 2, so I did, and then it said dept of treasury cannot answer questions concerning inj spouse claims and to call IRS at 18008291040.., which is the number I’ve been calling.. :( bummer…do you have another number @pamela79?

    Yes it would be nice! At least we all have each other, or we would never find out anything! So the number you gave is also the number to find out if you have an offset, so it makes sense that we would be able to call them to see what f any progress is being made i think?. I’m going to try it! I’ll report back what I find out.. Thanks @pamela79 :-)

    Thanks @pamela79..thats weird, I actually just got off the phone with an IRS supervisor and he said that the information that was Taken from the IRS website, that I referred to above, was correct, but that these dates are for IRS use only. He also said that direct deposits are cycling a little slower than mailed returns this year as well, but he couldn’t explain why? Thanks for the info though, I’m sure they have lots of stories circulating out there! :-) good luck!

    @mamatiger4 have you been calling the injured spouse line or just the regular # I learned they don’t know anything at that number but when I called the injured spouse line they knew everything in order to get a hardship to get a TA you have to have a bill with shut off notice or eviction or foreclosure notice unless you need to have something else done at the hospital and they won’t see you until it’s paid

    @whatthebleep I just called and they said it is from the date of the new tax season they said it counts from January 1st I gave them my cycle date and he told me that it means they received my return on February 4th I explained what you said and he told me someone gave you the wrong info hopefully that will help with your return?

    My status changed from the good old “your return is still being processed, a refund date has not been determined” or whatever, to “We have received your tax return and it is being processed.”
    Does that seem like it is back tracking? That was what the first update I got said when I filed and return accepted 2/2… then it said the still being processed and now the latest received/processing.
    anyone else experience this?

    @mamatiger4 I wonder if they would consider your hospital bill as a hardship? Maybe you could talk to a tax advocate and let them know about the unexplained delays. They should at least give you some more info besides the call next week bull they have been feeding you, especially since you’ve been waiting this long.

    I am sooo frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Here is what I know…
    1/26 IRS accepted return, injured spouse (all income mine, debt spouses), and Education credits.
    2/21 finally processed return
    3/11 Called, told to wait until 6 weeks from 1/26
    3/21 Called, told to wait 8 weeks from 1/26
    3/28 Called, told to wait until after 4/2 to call
    4/2 Called, told no info until after 5/9

    Any suggestions at this point? I have a huge medical expense that I need to pay out of pocket and waiting until Mid-May will cause an issue for my family.
    Thanks!

    Ok so they don’t count the first week of the year? My transcripts show that date the IRS told me they received my return 2/4/2014 ? Why is 06 feb 11th? Any way my question was about why my status changed I just saw a lot of people talking about if there cycle date incorrectly looking for answers

    Sorry @pamela79 someone gave you bad info on cycle dates..here’s some more info to help you better understand..also your date 20130602 translates to feb 11, 2013. The 02 isn’t the 2nd day of the week it is Monday just like 01 isn’t the first day of the week it means friday. Hope this clears things up for you :) and thank you for sharing about your status!

    IMF Daily Processing

    IMF processing will be daily except on weekends. Some transactions post to IMF on a daily basis as opposed to during the weekly cycle.

    Note:

    In January 2012 with CADE 2 Transition State 1 implementation, IMF began processing and posting all Individual Taxpayer submissions and transactions and remain the system of record.

    IMF Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:

    01 = Friday

    02 = Monday

    03 = Tuesday

    04 = Wednesday

    05 = Thursday

    This date is the equivalent of the Cycle Date in IDRS and reflects the date the transaction is posted by IMF. See Exhibit 3.30.123-2, Enterprise Computing Center-MTB Posting Cycle Calendar.

    Example:

    IMF daily transactions directed to daily accounts input in the campus on Monday, August 12, 2013 will have a posting cycle of 20133302.http://www.irs.gov/irm/part3/irm_03-030-123r.html

    Btw your cycle date is the date the IRS accepted your return I filled mine on turbo tax 1/30 within 2 hours I got an email that it was accepted however the IRS didn’t put it in their system unt 2/4 and they didn’t accept returns until 1/30 so even if you filed 1/15 trey didn’t get it until 1/30 so back to what I was saying my cycle date is 20130602 that means they received my taxes on the 6th week of the year on the 2nd day of the week 2013 it has nothing to do with when it will be processed also you should have a process date of April 15 2013 because that is when the tax season closes though you could still wait till may or June to see your money I don’t mean to burst bubbles but be prepared just in case ;)

    I just thought I would let others know our experience. We filed our taxes electronically and they were accepted February 2nd. When we found that the return was being held for another debt, my husband filed an injured spouse form and it was mailed around the 13th of February. We received our check in the mail today (April 1, 2013) for the full amount of our refund. This morning, WMR still said that our return was being processed. We never received a date on WMR, but we did receive letters from the IRS in the mail at the end of last week that said we would be receiving the full amount of our return sometime in the next few weeks.

    Hope this information helps someone.

    Hi @atozmom what I’ve been hearing is that the part on WMR that says ,” a refund date will be provided when available” that is in italics, disappears a few days before DD but some don’t see any changes..so it’s hard to tell, hope that helps :) good luck!

    I’m here to wait it out too. Accepted 02/28. WMR updated to “take action” on 03/05 and then changed to tell me about the offset on 03/07. Mailed IS form on 03/11. My question is, will WMR actually change again when they process my form so I’ll be able to tell something has been done? This is our first year filing IS. Thanks for any information!

    My husband and I filed injured spouse, but it was in error. He thought that because he was my spouse and that he is a disabled veteran (injured) that he was supposed to file that form. This was our first year filing on our own and we paper filed. It’s crazy because now we are waiting 11+ weeks and we really shouldn’t have to. I have asked many tax experts and they cant help. We e-filed through turbo tax on Jan 28, accepted the 30th. My bars dissapeared in the middle of February. I sent the injuried spouse form in BY ACCIDENT, electronically, because Turbo Tax carried it over from last year (which we didn’t end up needing it and had our taxes within 4 weeks last year.)

    Last week I finally got someone to look up my account and said that it was approved on the 12th of March and would take 2 weeks to be released into the system to be paid, so March 26th. At that point it’s only how long it takes to get DD or mailed. It should be DD so I am hoping a week after that. As long as I get it by April 6th.

    SOOOOOO mad when I saw that the stupid form carried over. I was told last year, even though some student loan stuff was fixed, to still file the form because they didn’t think it would be out of the system by tax time. I filed on February 20th and Recieved my refund in my bank by March 21st. Did not need the form. This year, even though there are no offsets it still needs to be processed and sit in the stupid department.

    So I have been looking ALL over Facebook for the INJURED SPOUSE FILERS, can’t seem to find them. I e-filed my taxes this year through Turbo Tax online for free, I also sent the INjured Spouse form along electronically as well. Sumitted it on Feb.16th and it showed in WMR it was accepted Feb.18th. Then I lost all orange bars March 4th and now it is STUCK in Still Processing. I am still watching this site closely to see if ANYONE has received their REFUND this year that filed form 8379 with their taxes? I will check her daily for any update and if anyone can direct me to the Facebook page for INJURED PEEPS that would be great!

    Nothing on my end either. Filed the second, accepted the second. I have been told it was accepted on the 31st of January (rolls eyes) and the fifth. I was able to order both return and account transcripts and know it is in the IS department. First year it took 8 weeks (paper return). Second year efiled and that was only six weeks. Still in processing and have called once a week for the past 3 weeks.

    On another note – I did file an amended return which included a Injured spouse form. The IS department received it on the 14th of February. On Monday I received a letter stating they increased the refund amount and I should get it within 2-3 weeks. I did call on this one to find out if that included the IS returns date. Was told it was set to be release on March 27 by 1 rep but it said it was in open control which implied IS still had its hands on it. So she sent me to IS department who said he only tells you if you qualify and it will take 11 weeks from the date on the letter. Called back the next day and to try and get a valid answer. The rep i could barely understand and was impatient and did not look anything up. Just said I would get it within 10 business days of the letter date. So I called again and the third rep was a little helpful but still no valid answers as to the actually date on that one.

    If I hear anything on either I will make sure to post. Some hope is better than no hope and I do keep hoping I will see more getting their returns filed.

    I just waited on hold for an hour today and was told “no update, it takes 11 weeks.” My return was accepted on 1/27, so I’ll let you know if I get it before mid April.

    This is our 3rd year filing IS. I e-filed it with our federal return through Turbo Tax myself. I filed & it was accepted on Feb 7th 2013…I am still getting the ‘your return is being processed’ message on the WMR site. Anyone else file around Feb 7th & receive their refund yet?

    Neena – Honestly, both work; it’s really a matter of luck. We filed in late January and are supposed to get the money on Wednesday. We e-filed, both return and 8379 together, direct deposit. Did the same method last year, had our return in 3 1/2 weeks. The previous year, e-filed the return, MAILED in the 8379…and got the money in 10 1/2 weeks. So it’s with what works for you personally, I guess. Congrats on getting a deposit date!

    Good morning!

    Just wanted to give some encouraging news to those who filed an 8379. This morning, after “only” 37 days since filing (early), the WMR tool updated from “Still processing” to a deposit date of Wednesday. This notes the first time in years of filing that the WMR tool has EVER actually reverted back to a deposit date after denoting the offset/processing, although last year we received our refund back after only 3 1/2 weeks after filing the 8379 (WMR never reverted back to a DDD or anything). This year will have been roughly 2 weeks longer, but we definitely aren’t complaining!

    …so there’s hope for you yet, they ARE slowly but surely working the 8379’s. Good luck to you all, thought that you could use some good news! =)

    We electronically files on Jan 30th and accepted same day. I waited one week and personally mailed in my Injured spouse form. I waited two more weeks, called to verify that they recieved it. They had. And they said they already put in for a release of our money that was sent off to XXX. They said five days later that they will be releasing the money on March 11 2013 or before. So this year I’ve only waited six weeks total by mailing in my Injured spouse form. It always and I stress ALAWAYS took the 11 weeks if I electronically filed it with my tax return. Try it out, see for yourself. I am doing it this way from now on!

    You can order transcripts on the IRS web site. The theory is that if you can order the return one it is done processing. If you can and then order the account transcript it might give you more info. I have mine and it has a processing date of 2/25. I have been told that is my DD date but who trully believes what the IRS says.

    I filed 2/11. I have no hopes of getting my refund before 11 weeks. This is my third year filing IS. I have never heard of transcripts. How do I order this? I requested to join the FB group.

    I talked to the IRS last week and they told me that the date on my transcript was the date that they will release it to be paid. He said that for people without IS forms that is the DD and for us it is the date that it will be released for DD. I guess we will see soon since my date is next Monday and I have seen some that have today as the processing date. Anyone called them yet this week?

    I was able to order my transcript but I don’t think that means much. Even after they process the return it has to go through the injured spouse process. I’ve not heard of an injured spouse receiving their refund yet or even having wmr updated past the normal processing message. Who knows if they’ve even began processing injured spouse forms?… For all we know they won’t even start until a later date.

    It has been said if you can order your transcripts you are closer to getting refund but I don’t think this is true for us.I am on a facebook page just for I s filers and there is some people on thrre that have gotten there transcripts and it tells you a break diwn of your tax refund and coads used and processing date but we haven’t seen yet if this date is actuall date or what.I’m following others on the page so I can see how this all works and we are hoping someone gers there return soon so we can have hope of things moving along quickly.if you have a facebook look up the page. It has helped, me a lot with questions.

    What does it mean to get ‘transcripts’? Is this something I should try and get as well while waiting?

    I am in the group in facebook and everyone there is great. My transcript says processing 2/25 but they told me that they have to do something before 2/18. I am not sure that I believe what the IRS says but it cant hurt to hope. We are 2 weeks into our 11 week (hopfully less) wait. I wonder what if going to happen this year. Keep us posted if you hear anything or get a DD.

    I really hope it does not take 11 weeks. I could use the money now. I am a bit nutty about checking to see what is going on but no one will give me any info. I was sctually told yesterday that they can take 20 weeks if they want to.
