I initially contacted the main tax advocate office for the IRS, and it was assigned to an advocate in the Seattle office, which is closest to me I guess. Not sure if this helps or not, the whole process is turning into an insane mess. :(

@aoldenburg83 Did you contact an IRS advocate or Seattle Tax advocate? I am confused. I hope that won’t happen to me? Now I am concerned.

@saros I have had to do this for two years now and I usually got it around 8 weeks. This has been the longest I had to wait. I am in Missouri and My husband owes a great deal of money, but he has been trying to work with everyone to pay them back. I still haven’t got a letter saying that his money is offset, which really makes me mad because we probably could have gotten the money sooner, but oh well.

I think it has to deal with your federal IRS processing district and how complicated is your return. Our return is very straight forward. I agree that the IRS isn’t very organized this year. They are not on their J-O-B. Good luck to you. I am not holding my breathe that my refund will get in soon.

I thought you all would find this funny. My TA just called (requested march 23rd) to make sure I got our refund I said yes so I asked her why they took 95% of our refund to pay my husbands debt she said because he made 95% of the income, I asked about the child tax credits because I have seen other people get those back she said that because it was mostly his income supporting our house that they can take those :( I didn’t even get back what I paid in I’m glad this is the only year I will have to file this since now we over paid them but that’s a whole new battle ugh good luck to everyone else still waiting

@tat2dmusicgurl We never received a letter from the county about my husbands offset this year either. We did get a letter last year. When I called the offset line, the recorded message said we did have an offset, but gave no amount. So I don’t know what’s up with that. The lady I talked to at the IRS yesterday said that everything was processing normally and there were no problems, but she could not tell me how much of the refund was taken. Or ever if any of it was taken, she said she didn’t have access to that information.

    Filed and Accepted February 14th.
WMR changed sometime in the last week of February.

I’m at the 9 week mark and nothing.

I called the Department of Treasury Offset line (per one of the phone numbers above), and the lady told me should would not help me because it is my husbands offset. It was a privacy issue, even though I obviously have his social, and he’s my husband.

I just wanna know where my refund is :(

Oh and every year my husband gets a letter from the county with his offset letting him know they took his money; we have recieved nothing…..

@brokeandfrustrated accepted/started processing-and not by when inj spouse dept received it- from the day that the irs actually started processing-which I thought at first was the 23rd because that was the day that I filed and was accepted but this guy said it didn’t start processing until 2/28 and that’s where the 11 weeks start- hope that makes sense..

Thanks you guys :-) the 22nd will be day 53 for me I know it’s not nearly as long as some of you have been waiting, but I think dd’s are going to start coming a lot more frequently since the whole Education credit debacle is getting somewhat better. @brokeandfrustrated :( let us know as soon as you hear from your TA..hopefully you and @aoldenburg83 get some answers fast- just so you guys know-some info about processing- i was told that your return is processed just like a normal return when it is first received-so if you didn’t have injured spouse you would ave ideally gotten your return no more than 21 days after filing- but for inj spouse after it finishes that first process it then goes to a human being in injured spouse dept- they are responsible for calculating how much will be offset, if any. Once they finish that, then it is manually put into the system and after processing is completed a Ddd generates within one to two weeks- he said it can take longer for mailed returns because they have to wait for the person you have the offset with to send the money back which can take up to 4 weeks but normally doesnt- if you mail your 8379 you get a paper check- you efile your 8379 its possible to get paper check and direct deposit- he said what takes longest is the processing by the computer- I just called this morning and made them explain this to me lol luckily the guy had been working with inj spouse claims for over 10 years- I know it’s not much but it’s something…

@whatthebleep good for you!! I can’t wait to hear what happens. How long was your wait total?

Has anyone actually found out anything about their offset? I have called the automated offset line and when I check under my husband’s ssn it does state the VA as his offset, but it doesnt give an amount or anything. I checked under mine too, just to make sure, and it didnt find any offsets for me, which is good. Just wondering if when you are closer to getting your refund if it will give you the offset amount or what? I just really want to know the status of something here, but like someone else has said… calling the IRS just adds to my frustration.

Hello all. Like many people, I have been keeping tabs on this site for over a month now. I filed on 1/30 and was accepted 2/1. E-filed my return and injured spouse form the same day. This friday will be 11 weeks!!!! Figured I would “join” the club and wait with you all. I have been filing injured spouse for 6 years now. This is by far the longest it has ever taken. I have learned that calling the IRS only adds to my frustration. Every year my check comes in the mail even though I sign up for DD. I have friends who live in the same state as me , but they get their’s thru DD. Never can figure that one out.? I hope you all will post when you get your check. It has been my experience on other sites in the past that people stop posting when the money comes in, leaving the rest of us to sit and wait. Good luck to you all!

@purple33 I did not file the injured spouse form until I got a notice the very first year bc I had no idea my refund was going to be offset. And I did not receive my refund until late fall. It was August or September.
I have never ever gotten my refund BEFORE 11 weeks since I started filing IS.

I’d like to know if it’s random or if it’s based on what state you owe, where you live, how much you owe, how much your refund is…? I search around the internet and people are saying “Oh I got mine in 4 weeks with IS”. I just want to spit. It takes the longest possible time every year.

Does anyone know what the wait time is based on?? The IRS lady on the phone says they received my return 1/28 and started processing the IS on 2/6 so the refund SHOULD be here before the end of April but she had no idea bc it was still processing.
    Very frustrating.

Thought I would give an update. Received a letter from the Seattle Taxpayer Advocate office, after trying to expedite my return due to hardship. The letter says that the earliest the case will be resolved is May 28th, and my return was filed and accepted on 2/11/13. So it would seem that for some reason, having the advocate is going to make the process longer than the 11 weeks, looks like about 15 weeks at the earliest, and the whole point of getting the advocate is because our city is requiring us to move by May 1st. I have never been so terribly frustrated…

@lisa120484 I called then 18008291040 then press 1 then 0000 then asked for the IS department. Then ask them when your return was received in the IS department and if it is being processed. I’m seeing in different sites that this year has been the longest it has taken for several people. It sucks that we have to wait so long!

I don’t know why I am having such a hard time understanding why no one has any info when we call or how we get such different info every time? Do you think their goal is to make us so miserable that hopefully we won’t file IS the following year? LOL. Only half kidding.

Lisa120484 I was told you count the 11 weeks from the date the IS dept gets your paperwork….so whatever date that is. Every time I call and talk to someone it’s a different date so I don’t know how accurate that is. Every time I call I have NEVER been able to get any kind of concrete info out of anyone. I finally received a DDD this morning for 4/19, after being accepted on 1/24 and waited till 2/14 due to education credit. I had the IS form taken off since I did not need it. I was told that after the 11th week that you needed to call back and ask for a TA. I did have the freeze code on my transcript of 570 as whatthebleep indicated. When the IS form was removed they told me they were removing the freeze on my return. I was also told it was 11 weeks form acceptance date and then form 2/14 then from the date my returns was accepted by IS department on 2/25. I did read in the IRS website that it is from acceptance date but who knows… Know lets hope I get it on 4/19 and not have to wait the 3 to 4 days after as was indicated to whattthebleep. I hope you all get your DDD soon.

I just called for the first time and called the number @whatthebleep had suggested and pressed 00000 and had them transfer me to the Advanced Individual Accounts dept… at least that is the dept I asked for. I talked to a lady who did not help me one bit. She basically said the average time is 9 weeks or something. 9 weeks from what date… the filing date… the acceptance date… what? Geez… I dont understand why they can be so rude and keep their jobs. I guess I will start calling daily as well. I just want an estimated date. We’re expecting a baby in 3 weeks and our refund would be nice to have.

This is our 3rd year filing IS. Each of the previous 2 years it has taken the full 11 weeks. This year is a bonus however. We passed 11 weeks on Friday and after calling the IRS last night, her bounty of information was, “It’s still processing. Call back if you haven’t received it by the end of April”. Also WMR hasn’t moved from “our tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” in 2 months.

The lady in account management was really nice. She took my information and referred me to a TA, who will contact me within 7 days. So more waiting. *sigh* And there is no guarantee the TA can help. She could not give me the amount of my refund after the offset, she didn’t have that information, but said there were no problems with our return and everything is processing normally. She also gave me the standard “injured spouse takes up to 11 weeks,” and that would put us at getting our refund by May 16th. I told her there is no way we can wait that long. Behind on our car payment and they want their money soon and we only have the one car. She was puzzled why the lady in the TA dept. transferred me and didn’t go ahead and take my information and get things started. I told her I was puzzled by that too. Oh well, it’s the IRS…nothing they do surprises me anymore.

Hey just to let everybody know something i do know about transcripts for injured spouse claims-if you look on your account transcript at the codes on the bottom- if you ave code 570 that means there is a freeze on your money and it will usually say additional account action pending- this means your refund is still sitting in the system “processing” (ridiculous) when you order transcripts and that code is gone your money is about to be released or has already. That’s one fact I have been able to substantiate in this debacle, and I just wanted to share.

Hi all! I’ve been stalking for awhile (creepy I know)! I was a participant last year and was trying so very hard to be patient this year as we have had to file IS for 3 years now but UGH it’s getting ridiculous. So, here’s my story. E-filed on 1/30, accepted on 1/31 except we had damn education credits so not really accepted until 2/14 I guess? WMR changed about 2 weeks after that and then NOTHING. Started calling around the end of March and been getting the usual 11 week run around, as well as a different date from every rep we talk to. They have been unusually rude this year as well. Some tell me to count the 11 weeks from when we originally filed, some from the 2/14 date, some from 3/11? So I have no idea what’s going on. My hubs is a police academy student and I’m at home with the kids so needless to say we need the $$ as badly as anyone else…..I’m currently on hold with the “advanced individual account dept” thanks to whatthebleeps great tip!!! Hopefully I will get some answers and will be able to update with good news. So, 11 weeks THIS week if we count from the original file date and 9 weeks from the education credits acceptance date…..ugh. Stupid IRS. Thanks for listening to the whine guys!!

    Good morning everyone!

No change in our status either… have not heard a word from the IRS. We e-filed on 2/21 with the IS form, so it will be 8 weeks tomorrow since we filed. I don’t remember when it was actually accepted through the IRS as I didnt keep notes… I should have though. I did order our transcripts, but it doesnt give much information. On the “Received” line… should that be the date that they received the refund? Because ours says 4/15, which is odd I think. But who knows, I reallyd ont know what I am looking at there.

Should I call the IRS and see what they say? I havent called at all yet as I was trying to be patient and wait out the 11 weeks. Our offset is due to my husband’s overpayment from the VA for the GI Bill. Maybe that’s why it’s taking so long?

Thank you everyone for all the great information. Hopefully this will help. If anyone else has real bad problems call the advocate line they are really helpful. Their number is 1-877-777-4778 or TTY/TTD: 1-800-829-4059. Call they have been so helpful so far.

The department you get transferred to is actually called advanced individual accounts if you want to ask the operator to connect you to that instead of saying injured spouse. They are the dept that deals with injured spouse claims as well as a few others.

@maximo2 hang in there. I am waiting with you. I am already at 8 weeks and I am still waiting. @brokeandfrustrated hang in there too. We are strapped for cash too. From now on I am not filing an injured spouse form until they send a letter. Also I now would rather owe the IRS rather than have the IRS owe us. It’s so stupid. All the people I have spoke with from the IRS have no answers except that I have to wait till May the 4th to the 8th to finish processing the paperwork. WHY? It isn’t rocket science… SIGH.

Well I have been monitoring this forum for about the last month. I filed my taxes back on 2/1 and was accepted 2/2 the Irs however has me being accepted 2/5. I can’t seem to get anything but the same old 11week spill. This is my third time filing as an injured spouse I never really counted the days. This year has been super tough financially on my family so I am on edge as to when we will receive our $$. I see some that have filed after me yet they say they have received there DD.

@brokeandfrustrated that’s how she said it “could” go, but that doesn’t mean everyone will have to wait that long I hope. She said that they have had cases where it has taken 3-10 days after deposit date for people to actually have money in hand, so she wanted me to be prepared in case it happens to me. I don’t know the reason behind it, and she could only tell me it was to do with their deposit system. I bank with USAA so I’m not too worried about any issues on my end. I am also extremely flustered by all of the IRS’s huge failures at communication, and disorganization, and I’m a pretty easy going gal :-) the way I have looked at it is this : it is what it is. No matter what I do, they are going to do what they do, and my money is going to be released when they release it. A TA is out of the question for me because I’m not financially struggling,so all I can do is hope that someone there is doing their job. For all of you out there that do rely on this refund to balance your budget, you are not alone we have all been there and that’s why we come back to this site over and over because two minds are better than one, and the more knowledge we share the more informed we are on what lies ahead.

@whatthebleep…you mean that even after we are given a DD that we may still have to wait 3-10 days past that date to get our money? I thought that the money is supposed to go into our account on the exact DD that they give us….It is so wrong how IRS jerks us all around. I know one thing, after going though the long wait this year I will think twice before filing an injured spouse form again.

Hey @maximo2 sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I also filed wit TT, and I just talked with the irs actually and they said I should get my dd this week, but they said that it could take anywhere from 3-10 days after my deposit date to actually receive the funds in my bank. I’m hoping that applies to you too, and that you will receive funds this week. The rep I had was extremely helpful and nice I’m assuming because calls have slowed down, so if I were you I would call again oh and I also only waited on hold for 7 minutes.

whatthebleep. I filed with TT but mailed in IS form and they received it 2/7. They have been telling me for the last month that refund is there just waiting for DD but ITS BEEN SITTING THERE FOR A MONTH. I’m starting to think it somehow got forgotten by their system, but I’m scared to ask for a release of funds cause they say that can take up to 30 days which may delay longer. But I’ll probably hear the same thing when my 1-2 weeks is up. Do you call IRS, what have they told you?

I’ve been looking and reading posts on this site for a few days now and I am happy to see that I’m not alone. Yes, it does suck that we have to wait but at least its not just me! Here’s my story: I filed and was accepted 2/22 (Friday) with the injured spouse form through TurboTax. I have been looking every day at WMR and it changed about 2 weeks after I filed to “its being processed and you’ll get a refund date when available” blah blah blah. I went online today and checked WMR and the status has changed to “we have received your refund and it is being processed”. What I’m hoping is that, based on others experiences via reading this forum, that my family will get our refund within this week. I’ll keep you posted! Fingers crossed!

I’m waiting with you all…I filed and was accepted 3/14/13, efiled through H&R. Got orange bar thingy that they received but the last week and half it changed to no bar, just a message: Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” Did call in to many phone # and finally spoke to an actual live person…told me that they received my return & it’s been assigned to someone for processing. Status: well, told could take to the end of May to complete a return w/IS attached. Our tax dollars at work…they can take our money faster but that can’t process it due to bureaucratic BS (debt ceiling, fiscal crisis, etc) We’re basically paying for them to all sit in DC with their finger in their butts. We’re in the wrong line of employment…

Well, a lot more happened yesterday after I spoke with the offset office. We found out that our house is now being condemned, so thankfully the FB group was able to tell me about tax advocates. I called them, and was informed not only did we have an offset with the Department of Education, but now the IRS is saying that we owe $2800 is back taxes from 2008, which is ridiculous. I called the IRS and was able to straighten it out, but so thankful to the advocates, because otherwise I would never have known. Plus, they are working on an expedition of our refund for hardship, since we will have no place to live in 2 weeks. I definitely recommend them if you have an imminent problem and you need your refund to get to you faster. My plan had been to wait it out, unfortunately that is no longer an option…

UPDATE :I called IRS again today to try to get more information, I was told that I needed to wait till beginning of May for my 1th week . I was accepted 1/24 , I had education credits so waited till 2/14. I was told that my return went to IS department on 2/25 and I had to wait 11 weeks from 2/25. He said if I did not have my refund by then to call back and ask for a TA . He did say my return is still being proceeded, since I do not need the injured spouse I asked him if there was anything I can do. He then just told me to hold and reviewed my account and he took the time to take off the freeze off my account, he told me to hold on the line till he finished unfreezing my funds. He then told me I was all set. I have called 4 other times since I filed to let the IRS know I did not need the form and they all told me I had to wait it out and there was nothing I could do. I did ask to speak to the inured spouse line and when representative came on line the first thing he asked if I filed injured spouse claim. So I’m guessing only the injured spouse department can remove form since this is the only time I asked to speak to someone in insured spouse department. Does anyone knowhow long it would take after they unfreeze funds to get DDD? I forgot to ask I was just so happy that he removed form.

So I have been a stalker for about a month {creepy} lol. Here is my situation…
Filed 01/26 w/ Turbo Tax. F/A 01/31. wmf switched from ddd to offset on 2/16. Didn’t know about IS until end of February. Sent 8379 to IRS on 3/01. Have been waiting since. Got a TA and talked to her on 04/01 (no April fools ). She told me the IRS has my IS but wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me when it was received. Faxed her my papers 2 times that week. Got a VM from a lady telling me she was taking over my case from the other TA and she can’t find my papers to fax them to he. Offset is from husband’s Dept ED from loans before we were married, Community Prop state AZ.OH, I ordered my transcripts yesterday when I found this group and saw that most of you had done that. Is there anything else I should do/have done?

@pamela79, I only mentioned the state because the IRS uses state community property laws to decide how to divide the federal refunds, and since WA and LA are both community property states, but both with different laws, it is making it take even longer.

One burst of good news, I called the IRS today, and of course, was told that they will have no information until the 11th week. I then called the offset office, and it looks like the offset has already been received and dispersed to the Department of Education, so I know at least know what the amount of my refund will be, which is actually much more than I anticipated. Still no word on the timeline, but the 11th week starts on April 29th, so I am hoping to hear something soon.

All of the info that you guys have provided has been incredibly helpful. This is my second year filing IS, but since my husband is the IS, and for tax year 2011 he had no income, we received our 2011 refund quickly, because there wasn’t much refunded.

2012 is a whole different story. I filed our taxes on 2/11, it was accepted on 2/11. IS form was filed electronically with our taxes. The non-tax debt is defaulted student loans in my name. For 2012, my husband was the higher earner, which is good, but we also spent 6 months in Louisiana and 6 months in Washington, both of which have different community property laws, so I imagine this process is going to take a while. I have not heard anything from the IRS as of yet, but I also haven’t made any calls to them either. I will probably try calling them tomorrow, does anyone have a recommendation on which number to try?

Thanks for listening to my story, I am definitely not impatient, since I have so much experience dealing with IRS issues, but I admit the wait is frustrating.

hi everyone! i have been ‘stalking’ this forum for weeks and finally thought i should post my experience. i filed our taxes electronically-first year of filing injured spouse. Filed on 2/11 accepted on 2/13. i called in at about 5 weeks 800-829-0582 x362 and they basically told me to keep checking the website-which still says “still being processed- a refund date will be provided when available”. so i waited. today i called and upon hearing a human-i asked what ‘accepted’ meant-and was told that they run it thru a few quick checks, names, ss#’s additional filings-and if all is well it moves on-i then stated my file date & said i hadn’t heard a word via mail, email or otherwise and that i was terrified that i had done something wrong-being a novice at this-she laughed and said she would look up our filing-she came back with-oh i see you filed an injured spouse form and that takes 11 weeks-giving me the date of april 29th. she said that from what she could tell we hadn’t made any mistakes and that she had no idea what the offset dept was doing so that it was taking so long-but we should see a dd within a couple of weeks…that may sound like a long time but up until i heard that i was dealing with the time frame of never-forever….anyway she also stated that if i hadnt heard anything to be sure to call back so that they could escalate my filing and get a supervisor to figure why we had a delay-she asked how many times i had called before early in our convo-so this was also promising…i know i’m not giving a whole lot of help-but maybe just a little hope :)

The status doesn’t. Change much just the “a refund date will be provided when available ” disappeared about 3 days before deposit I got mine last Thursday and wmr still says processing, I’m guessing it because you original tax return is changed as the amounts are so it doesn’t update? Also some people get TA’s and that speeds it up a lot also your file date doesn’t have anything to do with how long you’ve been waiting even if you filed 1/1/13 the IRS didn’t open until 1/30 (they did run test batches) but when you have education credits it wasn’t accepted until 2/14 that means you are in the 7th week of waiting maybe the 8th tomorrow I am a 0605’er I got mine last week so maybe 2 more weeks but I also got a TA and 3 days later mine was processed

My return accepted on 1/24, due to education credits waited till 2/14. I called IRS yesterday and they told me if I do not have any changes on WMR by Friday to call them since my 11 week was Friday. I was previously told by IRS rep. I had to wait till end of April for my 11th week . My cycle date is 805, I did see on Facebook Injured spouse page that there is still people waiting for refunds with 605 and 705 cycle dates but there is some 805 cycle dates that have received there DDD. Also seems as not many people are getting DDD this week.

    I’m so lost.

This is our first year filing injured spouse. The VA over paid my husband when he was using the GI Bill last year and he was told they would deduct what he owes from our taxes… which would have been the whole refund.

We filed electronically on 2/21and it was accepted pretty much right away, though I can’t remember the exact date. Our WMR states that it is still processing and a refund date will be provided when available… so just like everyone else… we wait.

I did order the transcript from the IRS and it states 4/15/13 as the Received Date. What does that mean? Also our cycle is 20130905… does that mean anything useful?

We’ll be going on 7 weeks this Thursday since filing… should we be seeing something soon?

I have been reading everyone’s post and I too am still waiting. I filed an injured spouse form along with my return electronically. It was accepted on 2/28 and the injured spouse form was accepted on 3/5. I cannot get any answers from IRS as to what is going on. I had 2 representative tell me that it usually does not take 11 weeks and on an average 7-8 weeks, but they have to say it’s going to take 11 weeks This is my first year filing this form and I was hoping I would get my refund before the 11 weeks. So
    frustrating

I called the IRS back and spoke with another agent, who told me that everything was completed but that the coding on the form would not process thru the computer. She said that it is a computer issue and was escalated to their code unit to determine what codes will let it pass thru the system, she also stated that it could be an additional 8-12 weeks….here’s to hoping the rest of you do not run into this coding issue. :(

Hello everyone. I will wait with you because it seems like I am in for a longer wait and I can’t get any answers from the IRS. Below is my story:

E-filed our return and injured spouse form on Feb. 23, accepted within a day or two.

Had one orange bar on WMR until early March, then message change to the “your return is being processed a refund date will be provided when available.” Still have that same message.

Called offset line about a week and a half ago, was told our refund would be offset, but no amount was given.

Ordered return transcripts on March 26 and received April 2. Cycle date on transcripts of 20130905, I was told by BartD the cycle date doesn’t really mean anything.

We have not received any letters at all from the IRS about errors or anything else. April 6th was six weeks since we filed. I know that injured spouse refunds can take up to 11 weeks, but was really hoping that it would be a lot sooner. I think it is ridiculous that it take so long. Have considered getting a TA because husband and I are both unemployed with no health insurance and we both need to see a dr. for health issues and can’t until we get our refund. But then I heard that a TA can’t help you unless you are in danger of eviction or utilities being shut off. Ugh! Have any of your gotten your refund yet and how long did you wait?

@waiting13 I would honestly call back only because they hired a bunch of new people to help with the large number of calls, and it sounds like you got a newbie :( explain your situation and tell her that you got disconnected before he could elaborate, they get their panties in a wad if you say you don’t think the other agent knew what he was talking about :-)

@whatthebleep no the agent only stated that the computer didn’t like what it was seeing, which didn’t seem to be a very professional answer from my side of the conversation. He also asked for my number in case they had any additional questions for me, however I can not fathom with as hard as it its to get answers that they would have the time to call me back. I am considering calling back to see if I can get someone else that can elaborate a little more.

@waiting13 from what I’ve been seeing over on the home page..this is happening to people for reasons like education credit, or identity verification, amongst other things. However, this is the first time I’ve seen it in an injured spouses case, did the agent say exactly what was wrong? For all we know it could just be a different way of saying you have to wait 11-14 weeks which is the irs estimated time frame to process injured spouse refunds.

Here is my situation I filed my injured spouse after my electronic return, i was told to wait 6-8 weeks. I called on April 4th and was told it was in a transaction phase so no date could be given, but I could expect my return in within two weeks . I called back today on the 8th of April to see if I could possibly get a date for deposit. Upon doing so the person on the line informed me that the computer saw something it didnt like and when this happens they have to reprocess …he told me it could be an additional 6-8weeks ?!?!? This is for a school loan of my spouses that was offset which I am not responsible for, does that seem right that it would be another 6-8 weeks? …./depressingly yours waiting13

In regards to interest, last October we filed IS for both 2010 & 2011. We did not get any interest for 2011, but we got about $300 interest on the 2010 check. What stinks is then at the end of the year the IRS sent us a 1099 for the interest & it actually had to be listed on this years IS form as income. Because the check was in both of our names, I had to claim $146 income (1/2 the amount) on the IS form. My husband is the IS & is only source of income so I hope that measly little $146 didn’t mess thing up.

Yes, it still says a refund date will be provided when available. Right now the system is down, so i cannot check the latest status. My sister in law was also told that the internet site and mobile app for WMR is not as up to real time as the phone hotline. I not sure, they both tell me that my tax return is still being processed and adate will be provided when available. Frustrating.

I am on day 67 of waiting for my deposit. I called IRS on my 42nd day, which was a Monday. I was told that I would receive my refund on that Friday which would be day 45. I did not and still have not received it. I called this past week, which was my 62nd day and the lady told me that I needed to wait until day 77 (11 weeks) to call again. She said that they do not give our info until atleast week 11. I am so tired of the run around. It would be nice if everyone gave the same info. But each time you call, it could be 5 times in a row; each rep gives you different info. My status still shows that is is being processed. I filed 1/30-excepted 2/1 and according to a couple reps, it was sent to injured spouse claim department on 2/7. I hope they figure it out. And where do I find info regarding interest? I have never heard of that. Thanks

Just an update. Filed 1/31 accepted, offset 2/7, mailed in injured spouse form 2/7. Just talked to helpful guy at IRS, Said everything was done processing and money was received back from Dept. of Education 3/9 but that automatic 4 week hold of funds after they get them back for all offsets. Money is scheduled to be released to me 4/9 but it won’t be DD it will be paper check, (he said all IS claims are mailed checks, but I’ve seen people on here say they got theirs DD, so I’m hoping for DD but I’ll be happy with a check by 4/15. Will update if I ever see money. Good luck to all of us, maybe our blood pressure will go down soon.

@pamela79 that’s a toughy part of me says that’s your money go for it, but the other part would be afraid of overpaying like you said. In the end I would probably not do it just because I’ve never been a risk taker of any sorts, but maybe you could ask around and see if there’s anyone who has pursued this type of dispute and won the case, if there are then I’d go for it. I’ll talk to my family friend and see if he has any input :-)

    UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST:
April 2nd I stated my status change but still no date determined. Well at 1AM my phone sent me an alert of not 1 but 2 deposits! Child Support didn’t even take my hubby’s return so we got the full amount this AM! I couldn’t go back to sleep and didn’t go back to sleep until 3AM all I could do was lay there haha. FYI my return was accepted on 2/2/13, my transcripts had a cycle date of 20130605 and the processing date was April 15th while the received date on the transcript showed 2/25/13.
Hope this is helpful and hopeful for those of you still waiting it out!!

No problem now I am debating on filing a dispute but at the same time I’ve heard they hold the money for 6 months the way it is and that will just prolong his student loans from getting paid, the way it sits now they will have a $2000 overpayment by the time they get the refund, what would you do? File with the IRS or wait for the refund from dept of education? If I file a dispute and lose and the IRS holds the money longer we could end up over paying a lot more and having to wait for them to give the money back, I don’t really NEED the money I just wanted to do some home improvements

I will wait will you too! I am waiting for my refund. My husband has his refund offset. So we filed injured spouse with our return on 2/16. I know that it takes at least 8 weeks, but the waiting is hard. Last year It didn’t take so long, only 6 weeks. This time it seems like an eternity. I called the IRS and the first time was okay, but the second time the person was really rude. I am waiting for the transcripts now. We may just file separately after this… Not cool. I am, however, taking out the maximum deductions now out of my paycheck. I rather owe the IRS than wait for them to return my money. I mean thousands they owe me…
