Nothing for me today either. :( I will be getting in touch with my congressman if I don’t hear from our TA on Monday.April 27, 2013 at 11:15 am #18380
Hi everyone! Quick question: our 11 weeks is up May 7th & we called yesterday bc nothing has changed on the WMR site since the orange bars went away or the offset line at all. WMR continues to say Return being processed blah blah….refund date blah blah blah & I filed the IS form with return thru TT electronically so the offset line has always said Found current debt, return MAY BE offset. When we called yesterday the guy said it had just been worked on Wednesday 24th, but he couldn’t tell what had been done. He told us, as well as another agent 2 weeks prior, that we should see something by May 7th. Anyone care to speculate what may have been “worked on”? Will the offset line change status or just stay the same since it never went into offset mode bc of filing IS with the return?
UGH! It’s sooooo frustrating! I am totally empathetic & sympathetic to everyone’s frustration & financial hardships. I am glad to see that some of the group are finally seeing some progress & refunds. We filed 2010 & 2011 back in October & both of them only took 42 days & 63 days.

Just passed my 11th week on the 23 or 25th just depends on who you talk to. Everytime I called I got that same response you need to wait 11 weeks. Finally I got a guy who actually looked at it and told me he was putting in a referral that could take up to 30 days. grrrr this is so frustrating! This is my fifth or sixth year doing injured spouse and the second time it has taken past the 11 week mark. Mine should have been simple to do. My husband has the debt and only I had income not community prop state no education credit or home credits. I e-filed, sent my form with it and it was accepted Feb 5th or 7th. Depends on who you talk to. I talked to a woman at about 9 1/2 week mark and she said it was just waiting to be released. This is just crazyApril 27, 2013 at 10:18 am #18378
Nothing for me again today. :(April 27, 2013 at 10:18 am #18377
Found out last night a DD is scheduled for Wednesday. The wait is almost over. That will be week 13 day 2, day 13 of referral.April 27, 2013 at 9:39 am #18376
Hey @waiting13 yes that’s a good sign people usually see that message a few days before dd let us know how it goes!April 27, 2013 at 5:02 am #18375
my injured spouse had to be resubmitted due to the irs leaving off my 10 digit number, I have been waiting longer than most and wanted to update my status. The wmr page just changed last night from offset to We have received your tax return and it is being processed. …..I am hoping that this is a good thing and the wait is almost over, anyone get this message just before their refund and if so how long after was it received? ….optimistic but not hopefulApril 26, 2013 at 7:57 pm #18374
Thanks @tiredofwaiting99, it’s hard to stay positive when you have been dealing with this crap as you well know. The extension that I meant was if the IS dept. doesn’t get it done in 11 weeks, they give themselves another 8 weeks. At least that’s how I understood it yesterday. As for your issue, I would call like Weds of next week and see what the deal is. It’s your 11th week technically and they should have SOME info. That’s what I plan on doing anyway.
Stay strong fellow IS’ers!! As @whatthebleep has said, it WILL end eventually.April 26, 2013 at 6:01 pm #18372
Hope for the best @katmill2369 remember @whatthebleep said the extension was only for those people who were the Boston area. What is the purpose of having the TA? When I called last week injured spouse department had it but it was still “open” I am not sure what that means. My 11Th week is May 2nd. Her words to me were if you have not “received” anything by then to call back.
Whai should we believe? I will not call back until 5-3-13 if I have not received anything.April 26, 2013 at 3:52 pm #18371
TA called….said that she will call back May 6th to “check on us.” Then ,if nothing has happened she will start the process and “hopefully” we can get our money by June 17th. According to her, and the rep I talked to yesterday, NOTHING has been done on my return. They accepted it and sent it to IS and that’s it. Nothing else. My 11 weeks are up May 2nd but I’m starting to feel like I’ll be one of the ones they stick another 8 weeks onto for an “extension.” Oh well. Moving on. Maybe something nice will happen next week but I’m not holding my breath.April 26, 2013 at 2:15 pm #18370
@brokeandfrustrated I am in the same boat as you. TA said that they maled the refund Wens but still no check today. Hang in there, sweety. This is turning into a nightmare.April 26, 2013 at 12:54 pm #18369
@tiredofwaiting99: Thanks for the words of encouragement. :) God bless you. :) Praying everyone gets their money soon…..April 26, 2013 at 12:31 pm #18368
@brokeandfrustrated be encouraged I feel your pain and I am in agreement with you and everyone else to get their money. You if we owed money to the IRS they would not hesitate to get their money from you and charge you penalty and interest for not paying on time. I am encouraged by @whatthebleep said that it may be a bad day not a bad life, we are in the land of the living so there is hope for all of us.
Some people are going through worse things than just waiting for their money, not to minimize your pain, but think about the people in West, Tx. who lost everything in that explosion. They lost everything and it will take months to rebuild. I am grateful that nothing like that has every happen to me. Or think about those people in Boston who lost limbs.
Things always have a way of working out if we are patient, tomorrow will always come. Just focus on the positive things you have going on. The times we are in right now are quite scary and uncertain, but look for the good in every situation. Delay is not denial it will come. You may have 3 dollars in the bank, but if you look closer you will find that you have much more to be thankful for. I pray that your money will come soon, and for everyone else who is waiting.April 26, 2013 at 11:26 am #18367
We have three dollars in the bank, that’s all. And I don’t get my monthly pension check (which isn’t much) and my hubby doesn’t get his VA check until the 5th or 6th. Desperately need our refund, and the IRS could care less…..all I can do is pray.April 26, 2013 at 11:14 am #18366
I know it sucks guys but Just remember to take a deep breath, it’s just a bad day(s) not a bad life :-) and the da$n IRS WILL get your money to you, the only question is WHEN!April 26, 2013 at 11:02 am #18365
@irstressing: I know how you feel, bad mood here too. :( @whatthebleep: I am trying to tell myself that maybe the TA is working on it and there are no answers yet. Was just hoping to at least have some hopeful news before the weekend. If she doesn’t call today I will try her on Monday. Her supervisor will be my next step if she doesn’t call me back.April 26, 2013 at 10:50 am #18364
So sorry @irstressing :( I had high hopes for you getting yours pretty quick since you mailed it in hopefully you see something soonApril 26, 2013 at 10:39 am #18363
Hey that’s great news @katmill2369..about the acceptance date, not your TA.. :-) lets hope he is right. @brokeandfrustrated, maybe she is working on your case and doesn’t want to call until she has answers for you? Didnt someone say they got some answers by calling their TA’s supervisor? Or maybe that was on a different forum. Either way i know you can call the TA 800 number and ask to speak with your TA’s boss and they should be able to help.April 26, 2013 at 10:26 am #18362
Nada for me either. I’m gonna tell the TA not to bother…..if they ever call.
On a happier note, I called 1800 829 0582 x462 yesterday and talked to the MOST HELPFUL man. He told me, definitively, that you count the 11 weeks from when your return was ACCEPTED. So 2/14 for me, and that unfortunately for me my return has not been touched thus far. My 11 weeks is up on May 2nd. He also said that the IRS is super backlogged this year, mainly because of the education credits, and are trying desperately to catch up. So if you guys want try calling I would seriously recommend this guy. He was seriously wonderful. Hope everyone has better news later/tomorrow.April 26, 2013 at 10:14 am #18361
Good Morning. No change on dd, wmr or check in the mail. I will check mail today once it comes. I got my hopes up earlier in the week and now the grey cloud has set in above me.
I have adjusted my exemptions, why should the irs have my money over a period of a year while I get no interest and they play with it until they figure out it is OK to give it back.
Bad mood…sorry.April 26, 2013 at 9:48 am #18360
No change on WMR this morning, and no deposit in the bank. :( And my TA was supposed to call me within one business day, so I should have heard from her yesterday, but didn’t. Not very happy this morning. This is beyond frustrating. :(April 26, 2013 at 9:09 am #18359April 26, 2013 at 9:03 am #18358
So i finally mustered up courage to call and thought I’ll add myself to the timeline so everyone here can have some clues to crack the IRS code:
Filed on 2/04
Accepted on 2/14 due to education credits
Called today i.e 4/26/2013 and spoke to a nice lady on the phone or maybe I just giver her enough chance to be nasty just yet lol
She said my taxes are in IS department and are being processed and I wouldn’t know anything for 11 weeks. I didnt want to push my luck so I just asked another simple question “When will my 11 weeks be up. I just want to know incase I don’t hear back” She said May 13th.
So alittle over two weeks and I call again :) Will keep everyone posted!April 25, 2013 at 9:16 pm #18357
howdy! i just got our transcripts in the mail today….they’re almost exactly like ‘tiredofwaiting9’s’…
return due date or return rec’d date (whichever is later) April 15, 2013 March 4, 2013
Code 150 Tax return filed Cycle 20130705 Date 3-4-2013 $!!!!.00
Code 806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 4-15-2013 -$!!!!.00
Code 570 Additional account action pending 3-4-2013 $0.00
Tracking Number: a series of 12 numbers
No idea what any of this means, but i’m sooo happy that i’ve at least rec’d a piece of mail from the IRS which proves that we actually DO EXIST in some data base somewhere HA!
No deposit, no change to the WMR site, 11 weeks will be up on Monday the 29th. Fingers crossed!!!
BTW-the FB group actually posted a plethora of IRS contact numbers last night but I was unable to copy them….not sure if this forum already has them or not?April 25, 2013 at 5:40 pm #18356April 25, 2013 at 4:35 pm #18355
I followed Charbelle’s advice:called 800-304-3107 (thanks aoldenburg83) pressed 1 for english, pressed 2 then option 5 in order to speak to someone live-took me all of 30 seconds so no wait this morning! this is the offset dept…unfortunately thay had not received anything from me yet :( so i guess i’m still stuck in the ‘processing’ limbo…good to have this info-a huge thanks to everyone who shared
I just spoke with a IS rep today 4/25/13 She was very nice. But they only can tell you if they got the money for the person who has the offset only (my husband) they had not received anything from the IRS as of the today. But you can speak with a live person. if you follow the options above. So after the 11 weeks are up then I will begin calling the 800-304-3107 once you hear that an “offset was sent to” whatever agency it should go to, the IS portion will be sent out at the same time by the IRS. :-)
Hope that helps.April 25, 2013 at 4:17 pm #18354
I talked with my TA and she brought me good news. The check was cut and sent in the mail yesterday. I should get the check in a day or two, but I have to wait up to ten days. The check was sent out in my city so it shouldn’t take that long. I hope the best for everyone else. My prayers are with you all.April 25, 2013 at 4:05 pm #18353
I don’t know what the deal is with WMR. It updates for some and not others? So many mysteries behind the IRShovenstuff.April 25, 2013 at 4:00 pm #18352
whatthebleep you must have some finances to make financial decisions LOL. Thank you for all of your answers. You know I did electronically file my 8379 along with my tax return. Last year I did it at the same time, but got the IS refund back earlier. Do you remember that too? Last year on the WMR status I did get that 800-829-0582 Ext. 362 specifically called them regarding my return. This year I got no such message. Don’t know if thats good or bad just saying the differences between this year and last year.
As I stated earlier last year I got my IS refund and I went back to WMR stated that it was still processing.
My daughter did a regular tax return dd this year and she got it just after 21 days with the WMR giving the ddds. Why does it not show the progress bars on WMR for IS processing?
Just wondering…hmmmmApril 25, 2013 at 3:48 pm #18351
I also forgot to mention that I believe your cycle date will only change once it processes the final time through IMF. So like in @maximo2 I don’t know, but I bet his cycle date was something like 20130605 or anything smaller before it changed to 20131105..but these are just my opinions..nothing else :-)April 25, 2013 at 3:41 pm #18350
code 150 is just your withholding-Code 570 is a freeze code BUT its normal and it’s only released when your money is released to your bank..in other words you want that code there it doesn’t keep you from your money, actually it protects your money from being offset..unless you don’t need the injured spouse form, in which case you can call to have it removed as @j33 did.April 25, 2013 at 3:37 pm #18349
So I guess you got the gist about the cycle dates…we don’t know what they mean , and we don’t know if they start jan 30 or jan 1… Irs says we don’t need to know..yeah ok TAXMAN!…anyways your date if we start from jan 30 is march 21, 2013.. From jan 1 it’s feb 19, 2013. I’m going to tell you what I’ve been thinking but only take this with a grain of salt because I’m no tax expert, I’m thinking the cycle date is the last time your return was “cycled” through the IMF system. I think it only tracks processing through IMF and IMF alone. The other processing date march 4, represents the day that your return was picked up by a person in the injured spouse department and began the manual process to calculate what you should receive. The midlle 3 digits in the number under code 150 are your Jillian date. For this you will calculate 440-365= 75 which if you count 75 days from jan 30, you get April 15, which in a theory I recently found means the IRS has until march 6, to get you your refund if they stay inside the 21 day window allotted for normal refund processing, which is what you enter once your Jillian date is up if you e-filed you form 8379, if you mailed it in then then your Jillian date is probably much higher…please do not base any financial decisions on this or think in any way that what I am saying is absolute truth these are just my opinions, and mine alone , nothing more and nothing less. I hope some of this makes sense to you..April 25, 2013 at 3:09 pm #18348
Okay first of all thank you so very much whatthebleep for getting the cycle info. I just got my transcript. Please solve the mystery of the universe:
code 150 tax return filed 080211-440 cycle 20130705 cycle date 3-4-2013 then I got 806 04-15-2003 along with 570 additional account action pending $0.00 I also have a tracking number too. What is that for? as of yesterday my case is still open what the bleep is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for your input.April 25, 2013 at 1:32 pm #18347
I was told mine closed on the 18th and they said 2-3 weeks. Yesterday I had one rep tell me three different time frames in the same call. Keeping my fingers crossed.April 25, 2013 at 1:14 pm #18346April 25, 2013 at 1:07 pm #18345
Hi everyone I have a question. I called the IRS today and was told they finished processing my injured spouse claim and that the case was closed. Was told I would have to wait 2 – 4 weeks to receive my refund. Will I really have to wait this long? As anyone else been told their case is closed received their money before then. Thanks.April 25, 2013 at 12:51 pm #18344
IMF stands for Individual Master File
IRS – After the initial filing of the tax return, any changes or updates (adjustments) to a taxpayer account, whether initiated by the taxpayer or the IRS, is submitted as a transaction to post to the master file so that the file reflects a continuously updated and current record of each taxpayer’s account-
Here’s some info to check out just talks about IMFApril 25, 2013 at 12:33 pm #18343
I’m reposting this so you have a reference @tiredofwaiting99
IMF processing will be daily except on weekends. Some transactions post to IMF on a daily basis as opposed to during the weekly cycle.
In January 2012 with CADE 2 Transition State 1 implementation, IMF began processing and posting all Individual Taxpayer submissions and transactions and remain the system of record.
IMF Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:
01 = Friday
02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = Thursday
This date is the equivalent of the Cycle Date in IDRS and reflects the date the transaction is posted by IMF. See Exhibit 3.30.123-2, Enterprise Computing Center-MTB Posting Cycle Calendar.
IMF daily transactions directed to daily accounts input in the campus on Monday, August 12, 2013 will have a posting cycle of 20133302.http://www.irs.gov/irm/part3/irm_03-030-123r.htmlApril 25, 2013 at 12:28 pm #18342
Let us know what yours is @tiredofwaiting99 and we will discuss it between all of us so you can get multiple answers..the more the merrier :-)April 25, 2013 at 12:19 pm #18341
@tiredofwaitiing99 I wish I could give a definitive answer about the cycle dates, but all we have are mixed answers from people at the irs and opinions of those that don’t. Some say it starts jan1st and it is only the day your return was received, but I have seen several cases where this is impossible and the math does not work..for example @maximo2 accepted 2/14 but cycle date is 20131105.. Which proves that theory completely wrong..others say it starts as of jan 30- so if yours was 20131005 it would be 10 weeks from jan 30 and 05 means thurs. what they represent no one knows for sure? It has to mean something, but I have been told its only for irs use and are of no use to us….sorry so long :-)April 25, 2013 at 12:09 pm #18340
I am waiting to get my transcript so I don’t know my cycle date. The first time I spoke with a rep using the 800-829-0582 ext 362 number she told me the IRS accepted 2/14/13 and my 11th week is May 2nd which happens to be on a Thurdsay. Could someone please give me an overview of what the cycle dates mean. I am going to my po box today and will need this information when I look at my transcript.
Thank so much, You all have educated me in this area, I would not have even got a numbe to call if I had not read the posts.April 25, 2013 at 12:02 pm #18339
@injured4life WOOT WOOT Congrats!!!!
No WMR updates for me, no check no dd.
Dates: Filed 01/26 w/ Turbo Tax. F/A 01/31. Ed Credits 2/11. WMR switched from ddd to offset on 2/16. Didn’t know about IS form until end of February. Sent 8379 to IRS on 3/01. Have been waiting since. Got a TA and talked to her on 04/01 (no April fools ). She does not return calls, called main line was told the TAs are very busy.
Did notice on Act Trans it says return due date or return received date (whichever is later) Apr 15, 2013 and processing date Mar. 11, 2013.
WMR changed on 04/20 from offset to processing.April 25, 2013 at 11:47 am #18338
I filed Accepted 1/31 mailed in Is form 1/31 and proccessing started in IS on 2/14. processing completed on 4/1 (or so I was told) and am expecting a check to be mailed out tomorrow ( again or so I’m told). Trancript date was 20131105 which is also a Thursday. Just hoping they get that check out tomorrow and it gets here quick.April 25, 2013 at 11:36 am #18337
My dates are the same as @whatthebleep but I don’t know when it went to the injured spouse department. Still waiting.April 25, 2013 at 11:35 am #18336
I have been a silent spectator for a few weeks now but thought I will chip in my 2 cents. I filed first week of February but due to education credits wasn’t accepted till 2/14
Now hearing about how some people get theirs sooner then others I was thinking if it is the same things as it is at any other office. There are diligent workers vs the lazy bums who pretend they are working. If your case got picked up by some lazy bum he/she might take forever vs someone who is super efficient and picking up everyone else slack. Who knows? I guess we are coming up with theories to vent our frustrations :)April 25, 2013 at 10:59 am #18335
Accepted 2/14, IRS started processing 2/21? I think, and still waiting……so in week 9……April 25, 2013 at 10:37 am #18334
I did receive mine before the 11 weeks @tiredofwaiting99. I received mine 8 weeks 2 days after being accepted. Accepted 2/23, irs said started actual processing on 2/28 and then went to injured spouse dept on 3/18..got money 4/22. Maybe we should all post our dates again? It would probably help a lot of people so they don’t have to go back through all of the old posts?April 25, 2013 at 10:32 am #18333
And my cycle day was also on a Thursday..April 25, 2013 at 10:31 am #18332
Hmm that is pretty interesting..my 11 week mark would have been on a Thursday as well…April 25, 2013 at 10:26 am #18331
Thursday is my “cycle day.” 20130805 on my transcripts. So I was just wondering if that was how they were gonna schedule it is all LOL. @tiredofwaiting99 what is your cycle date??April 25, 2013 at 10:22 am #18330
Congrats @injured4life too! 4/25/13 no good news, but I am interested in what Katmill2369 said about the 11 week dates landing on a Thursday. My 11th week is May 2nd and it is on a Thursday. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone received their IS refund before 11 weeks?
What is significant about Thursdays?April 25, 2013 at 8:55 am #18329
Congrats @injured4life!!!! :) Wonderful news! No change for us today, same WMR message and no deposit in the bank. Hopefully our TA will call today.April 25, 2013 at 8:33 am #18328
Well no change on anything today. Bummer. Hope ya’ll have better news.April 24, 2013 at 9:23 pm #18327April 24, 2013 at 8:07 pm #18326
Got my refund today!!!! Direct deposit…who would have guessed? 11 weeks and four days to be exact. Good luck to the rest still waiting. I’m still here for you all.April 24, 2013 at 7:06 pm #18325April 24, 2013 at 6:54 pm #18324
hi all! i gave in & called today-( i was requested not to call back until the 29th)…i spoke with a nice gal who said that our return was ‘open’ and that they had until the 29th to ‘close’ it…we have not rec’d anything in the mail to date…she stated that after it goes into a closed status, then it will have the allocations and a DDD or a paper check mail date available. she said that if we haven’t seen or heard anything by monday to call back on that day. she told me that monday is a high volume call day because whatever happens during the week-gets updated on sunday evenings-then everyone calls in to see whats what on monday….btw our file date was 2/11 accepted on 2/13, we filed using TT and i filed the IS claim at the same time. she also asked if we had any problems with our return last year-which kinda scared me-so i told her our entire refund was taken for my student loans…she responded with an OOOHHHH i seeeeee……gosh, i don’t know if that’s good bad or indifferent?! in any case here’s looking forward to a refund soon!!!!!April 24, 2013 at 4:36 pm #18323
There are no answers I think LOL. Unless you want some new form of BS each day. I mean come on! I’ve had several reps tell me that they can see in my “notes” on my account what others have been telling me…..then they tell me something different! I still haven’t heard from the TA, I’m beginning to wonder if this isn’t a good thing?
So, just for shiggles……you guys know how last year things were done on a weekly basis? I believe it was WMR was only updated on Wednesdays or something? Anyhow, do you think that our cycle dates have anything to do with WHEN they process our returns?? Mine is an 05, so a Thursday and all my paperwork that I’ve gotten from the IRS is Thursdays, 11 week dates land on Thursdays……just curious is this is happening to you guys? Maybe wishful thinking as tomorrow is a Thursday and I’m hoping for a change LOL.April 24, 2013 at 4:09 pm #18322April 24, 2013 at 3:27 pm #18321
Yea, I’m a bit bitter but I think TA’s don’t do a damn thing but call every couple days and tell you the obvious. They have no power over the process at all. They are not able to speed it up in any way other then use the same tools the IRS already has in place(the referral that is available after week 11). I saw someone today say their TA put in an “expedited” on their return and I started laughing out loud. Sure ya did. However they couldn’t give an answer as to when it would be completed.April 24, 2013 at 3:23 pm #18320
haha @brokeandfrustrated, I’ll copy/paste it and save your TA the time, “Two to three weeks”April 24, 2013 at 3:11 pm #18319
I did call our TA a bit ago and got her voicemail. We will see if she calls back in one business day or not. I just want more answers than what she was able to give me on Monday. She said we would have our refund “very soon” but didn’t give a real time frame of what that meant. She did tell me that our return had been finished processing for quite some time and was just “sitting there” and that she would expedite our refund. She was really nice and got my hopes up, but after two more days of no update and no money in the bank, I want more specific information about exactly how long “very soon” is.April 24, 2013 at 2:45 pm #18318
I couldn’t work there..I have a serious soft spot for people In need, and I’d be spending way too much time trying to help each person to the fullest extent..no joke..my husband says it’s my gift and my curse..I have a feeling they might see some rogue agents giving out info here soon, with the cuts coming…April 24, 2013 at 2:38 pm #18317
@purple33 I think a lot of it boils down to the fact that injured spouse returns are the irs’s red headed stepchildren and the customer service agents can only do so much without getting chewed out by the actual injured spouse agents working the return. It sucks because I know of times that I called and I could tell the agent wanted to tell me more, but couldn’t kinda like the whispering lady that @buttons16 had who told her what her dd was…April 24, 2013 at 2:26 pm #18316
@whatthebleep that is a relief. Why can’t the IRS reps explain things… I don’t understand.April 24, 2013 at 2:18 pm #18315
I contacted my friend that works for IRShovenstuff guys, he said the alert was for individuals in Boston and its just an extension for those people and nothing else. Injured spouse is still looking at the normal 11 weeksApril 24, 2013 at 1:39 pm #18314
Holy crap that’s terrible news @tiredofwaiting99. 18-20 weeks?? That’s the first i have heard of any kind of alert on injured spouse returns. That’s pretty disturbing, I hope it’s not true.April 24, 2013 at 1:38 pm #18313
Day 87, nothing to report. Did get a referral, on day 7 of that. No news of progressApril 24, 2013 at 1:31 pm #18312
My refund was received by the IRS 2/14/13 and My 11 weeks will be 5/2/13. I called the telephone number 1-800-829-0582 Ext. 362 and was told that my return is still processing and it should complete between the 11-14th week. If I had not received my tax refund by the 14th week to call back. What he did tell me that there is a recent alert for the injured spouse processing, because of the cuts it may now take 18-20 weeks to process injured spouse returns. He checked for me and that alert was not on my return. Has anyone else heard of this? Has anyone received there tax return for IS before the 11th week? I don’t trust the system, last year I got my tax refund (check mailed) and the WMR said it was still being processed.
love to hear from ya!April 24, 2013 at 1:19 pm #18311
I just spent 45 minutes on hold with a representative who told me our tax return was “still processing”. She then informed me that this was only the 9th week after I told her that tomorrow marks 10 weeks since it was accepted *eyeroll* and that I should call back if I haven’t receieved it in 2 weeks. I guess I’ll call again next Thursday exactly at 11 weeks. I must have been luckier the last year or two because those reps were much more helpful and informative.April 24, 2013 at 12:24 pm #18310
@billbilly the same thing happened to me. The IRS is everything, but consistent and reliable, oh and polite too. Not polite, at least to me they haven’t been. Keep at it… Don’t lose hope.April 24, 2013 at 12:22 pm #18309
@irstressing No problem! ;) @katmill I hear ya! I better have the refund by May the 4th! That’s past 11 weeks for me…April 24, 2013 at 12:19 pm #18308
I called today and was told it will be four weeks until I get my refund. It is so frustrating to be told something different every time you speak with someone. Honesty is all I ask for. Going to be a riugh month. :(April 24, 2013 at 12:10 pm #18307April 24, 2013 at 11:56 am #18306
I’m right there with you @purple33 and @brokeandfrustrated. Called again and got a different answer, again. Was told at least no refund date as of yet and to count the 11 weeks from 2/21. So….May 2nd. IDK. So frustrated. My son’s bday is May 4th so we are hoping to have it right before then if nothing else. I know that it will end at some point, I’m just hoping sooner rather than later.April 24, 2013 at 11:20 am #18305
@irstressing I know that the first year I mailed in the IS I had to get it via check in the mail, but that was in 2011. If your TA doesn’t answer your call with in one business day I would call the TA Office in your state and find out what is going on. Go to: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-a-Local-Taxpayer-Advocate click on your state and call the number. I hope that helps. Good luck.April 24, 2013 at 10:58 am #18304
So, update, finally recieved a call from the TA, she said she is looking at a DD date of May 17th, assuming everything she does goes smoothly. Unfortunately, with the IRS saying that my husband had back taxes owed, it is making the process take longer, because I had to refile the year in question and prove we should have gotten a joint refund that year. Ugh…April 24, 2013 at 10:54 am #18303
Now I have a question. Are you sure that if you filled your IS after filing return, by paper, that you get a check? 1st TA said they would make sure it is dd but new TA still hasn’t returned any calls (last one made yesterday) so I have know idea.
I am trying to be patient, shoot have prayed for patients. MY bday is Friday, maybe it will be a present. lol :)April 24, 2013 at 10:48 am #18302
@whatthebleep: No I don’t have a smart phone, so no mobile app. Too poor for a smart phone! :)April 24, 2013 at 10:38 am #18301
@brokeandfrustrated did you check and see if your bank has a mobile app for your phone, you could pull your accounts up pretty quick that way too? Good luck you guys I’m going for a quick run while the sand gnats are at bay, but I’ll be back!April 24, 2013 at 10:29 am #18300
@purple33: I will hang in there with ya! I am going to be in major trouble too if this money doesn’t get here by the end of the week. @whatthebleep: Thanks :) I am not really sure when our bank does deposits but I will check a few times during the day, it’s easy to do by phone on an automated system.April 24, 2013 at 10:21 am #18299April 24, 2013 at 10:12 am #18298
When does your bank normally do deposits? I know some people say the IRS deposits any day except Sundays, and at anytime, but I bank with USAA and our money no matter where it’s coming from if its a dd it hits between 6 and 7 am…that being said, if it were me and I had quick access to my checking throughout the day I would still check often, especially considering the TA’s comments. Either way Im just happy you have somebody going to bat for you, maybe give her another 24-48 hours and if nothing happens by friday call her.April 24, 2013 at 10:03 am #18297
@whatthebleep: Should I check the bank a few times a day? Not sure what time they do deposits during the day, if they just do them once on several times. I am definitely going to call my TA today to see what is going on. She told me that we would see our refund very soon and that we will be pleased that we have her help, well that remains to be seen.April 24, 2013 at 10:00 am #18296
Nothing here for me either. No update on WMR and no deposit. Damn. Maybe the TA will call today.April 24, 2013 at 9:54 am #18295
Hey guys sorry you haven’t seen deposits [email protected] I don’t think they are required to give you any information once a TA is involved, but I have heard of a few ucky people with TA’s getting info from regular agents it just depends on the agent…what’s the worst they an do, tell you I can’t help call your TA?April 24, 2013 at 9:49 am #18294
No deposit here either. :( I know we just got a TA on Monday, but she really got my hopes up that it would be soon although she didn’t give us a time frame other than she would call us back on May 14th to check on us and that and we should get our refund WAY before then. It’s not looking like it. Will check the bank again later and if nothing is there will call her. Question: can we still call the IRS to check on things even though we have a TA?April 24, 2013 at 9:11 am #18293
No Deposit today. I guess I am calling the advocate and asking what is going on… I will keep everyone posted.April 24, 2013 at 7:33 am #18292
Oh and as far as WMR that’s up in the air..I would call 8008291954 to check the status because WMR doesn’t update at all for some folks, and for some it does..April 24, 2013 at 7:30 am #18291
@billbilly I dunno if you saw it but @j33 responded to you they had a hold or freeze removed from their account and it took about 9 days for them to get a dd, but on another note you filed 2/23 so your 11 weeks will be up in “2-3 weeks” too..so it could be a stall tactic. Who knows? I think you will see something soon, but it wouldn’t hurt to call again today to see if someone can dig a little deeper for a dd… :-)April 24, 2013 at 7:18 am #18290
As I posted above, our return posted complete on 4/18. We were told 2-3 weeks for payment. WMR still says refund was applied to irs debt. Will WMR change to the amount I was given on the 18th before we get our refund? Thanks for any help.April 23, 2013 at 10:31 pm #18289April 23, 2013 at 10:22 pm #18288
Yeah I’m sure theres lots of codes they use that make sense to them, so you may be right @whatthebeep. I’m just hoping4/26 is the truth.April 23, 2013 at 10:13 pm #18287April 23, 2013 at 10:12 pm #18286
That’s way too much thinking lolApril 23, 2013 at 10:01 pm #18285
And the reason I subtracted your 21 days is because you paper filed your injured spouse form so you don’t have to wait for the system to generate a dd…I dunno.. I have way too much time on my hands since my hubby is deployed.. :-) I’m sure there are a lot of people this formula makes absolutely no sense for, but when I found it i couldn’t resist comparing the numbers with you allApril 23, 2013 at 9:49 pm #18284
That’s true but something kinda cool..if you subtract 472-365=107 and then subtract the 21 days for normal processing..107-21=86… And 86 days from jan 30 is 4/26… :-) i know it’s crazy I just like trying to figure this stuff out..not that I ever really will lolApril 23, 2013 at 9:40 pm #18283
Just a note for @purple33 my 3 numbers are 472 and I’m scheduled for check release on Friday 4/26, so my numbers can’t be right with that formula or I’d still be waiting a long time.April 23, 2013 at 9:10 pm #18282
Can’t wait to hear everyone’s good news in the am!! What I failed to mention in my rant, lol, was that this idiot rep told me that you have to count 21 days for the original return THEN start counting the 11 weeks. That’s how she came up with May 23rd. Really? I’ve been filing IS for 3 years and this is the first I’m hearing of this. I was always under the impression you count 11 weeks from when you got accepted. Anyone else been told this BS?
Anyhow, TA didn’t call today, hopefully tomorrow. Fingers crossed they are just tired of talking to me and will update my status and give me my damn money LOL.April 23, 2013 at 4:43 pm #18281
@whatthebleep LOL! I know right. I have learned a great deal from this. Hopefully everything will work out for all of us next year. I will keep all of ya’ll informed. Fingers crossed. ;)April 23, 2013 at 4:15 pm #18280
@purple33 you have been awesome too :-) i hope we all meet here next year but under much better circumstances..like to tell eachother we got our refund back really fast…!!April 23, 2013 at 4:12 pm #18279April 23, 2013 at 4:12 pm #18278April 23, 2013 at 4:11 pm #18277
Thanks for that info @tmpe01 but, I’m mailing my injured spouse form in next year :-)April 23, 2013 at 4:07 pm #18276
Hey @purple33 according to that formula your 447-365=82 which means the normal 21 day
Processing that a normal return would require started yesterday so you should see something soon…if that formula is right :-) I hope it is ..April 23, 2013 at 4:05 pm #18275
@tmpe01 There are quite a few of us who have seen week 11 come and go. Don’t get your heart set on a guarantee that your return will be finished in that time frame. :)April 23, 2013 at 3:32 pm #18274
Okay…spoke to a lady in Individual Taxpaxer Accounts, she happily pulled up my account (and notes from all my contacts with the IRS) and told me that the IRS received my return on 03/15/2013 and from 11 weeks which is how long Congress mandated and granted the US Dept of Treasury – IRS to actually get their finger out of their butts and do something to process tax returns with special IS forms. So, looks like according to her calcs. 11 wks from 3/15 is 5/31. She advised me due to holiday on 5/27 that to call in on 5/28 and they should have a ERD (expected refund date) for DD. There is no way one person can file their IS form before or after the tax return because they have to have a return to process with. Even if processed and IS is mailed in after, it would subsequently take longer because it goes by the date IRS received IS form. You would need to e-file your return with IS in the first week of Feb in order to expect your refund at end of April. You file in Mar, your screwed, don’t expect your refund until May. Strongly thinking of MFS next year as I did the previous year…only because I also live in CA a community property state and because my husband had an offset with them, and they are broke as a joke, they snagged my entire refund of $239 to pay his debt prior to our marriage. Can’t file IS because it doesn’t exist. They only have Innocent Spouse Relief for divorce/legal separated and if debt was for child support. — that’s my tussle with IRS today.April 23, 2013 at 3:19 pm #18273
Good news. I will be getting some money back and the process will be complete some time thins week. Thank GOD! Thanks, everyone!April 23, 2013 at 3:02 pm #18272
@whatthebleep. My numbers on my transcript is 447 as of 04/01. Can you help me figure it out? Thanks!April 23, 2013 at 2:59 pm #18271
I am so upset. I haven’t heard from the Advocate, even left a msg. I did the math that @whatthebleep did and it’s not comforting at all. I am soo upset. I can’t take much more of this.April 23, 2013 at 2:16 pm #18270
My refund is supposed to be deposited tomorrow and it closed on 4/15. If it is there, then 9 days from closed to money in my account.April 23, 2013 at 1:52 pm #18269
@billbilly You wil probley geta DDD with in a week, it took a total of 9 days for me to get a DDD and DD.April 23, 2013 at 1:41 pm #18268
I just spoke with a rep. she said my claim was finished and was posted april 18th and that it would be paid within 2-3 weeks. Will it take that long, or can i expect it sooner. BTW the injured spouse claim was accepted Feb 23rd.April 23, 2013 at 1:25 pm #18267
We got the ball rolling on a TA this morning. Was told they would call by Friday. Hoping that they will help. @brokeandfrusterated so glad that you are getting somewhere! I would be money (haha) that ours is just sitting there too. :(April 23, 2013 at 1:09 pm #18266
@katmill2369: Yes sounds like the rep you talked to has a problem with her math and can’t count. :) Heard from our TA for the first time yesterday and she was nice, said she will get our refund expedited and that our processing has been done for a while, it’s just been sitting there for God knows how long. She said we would probably have our money before she calls us again. We will see, at this point I don’t trust what anyone says…..April 23, 2013 at 12:08 pm #18265
So, I just talked to another rep….she was very rude and cranky and told me that I don’t even reach my 11 weeks until May 23rd?! WTF?! We filed 1/30, accepted 2/14 (effing education credits) and have been told by a TA that May 1st was D-day. So…..what is going on?! Every time I call I get a different answer!!! I am so beyond frustrated. If you count from my original file date I’m at 12 weeks, the damn education credits date 10 weeks! I am so irritated I can’t see straight. I understand that we have a debt, so we filed the proper form and all that crap, we waited, patiently for the most part, but it’s OUR MONEY.
How are you guys getting any answers?? I keep calling and just getting bulllsh*t! Ugh, sorry for the vent guys. Stupid IRS.April 23, 2013 at 11:47 am #18264April 23, 2013 at 11:10 am #18263
I have been keeping up with this thread for weeks now and decided to chime in. I will continue to wait with the rest of you. I filed 3/4,accepted 3/6. Tomorrow will start my 7th week of waiting. WMR says “Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” This is my second year filing injured spouse. Last year it took alot longer due to an amended return. This year I am just anxious to get my money. I called the IRS and was basically told that it will take 11 weeks and to call back if I haven’t received anything. Looks like I have 4 more weeks to go. I am hoping for something sooner, we shall see…April 23, 2013 at 10:27 am #18262
No change for me either.April 23, 2013 at 10:26 am #18261
Grats on those getting their refunds!April 23, 2013 at 10:19 am #18260
Nothing here for me. No change on WMR and nada in the bank. Ugh. Congrats to those getting refunds!! Yay!!April 23, 2013 at 9:26 am #18259
No change on WMR this morning and no refund in our bank account, but we were assigned a TA yesterday and she was really nice and said she would get our refund expedited. Fingers crossed and praying hard!April 23, 2013 at 8:50 am #18258
Still waiting here. Just checked WMR… no change in status. We are going on our 9th week of waiting. I havent had the desire, or time really with being at work all day, to call the IRS. I’m going to give it until the 11th week and then start calling like crazy if we don’t see anything before then. I’ll also be off on maternity leave then too, so I will be able to call more often.
Our offset is from the VA. Do you think if my husband calls the VA they might be able to give him some information on what has gone on behind the seens with the money?April 22, 2013 at 10:47 pm #18257
I’ve been mostly lurking but I’m also still here waiting around for our refund. Congrats to all of those who recently got their money! My form was mailed on 03/11 so this is the start of my 7th week. Hoping for good news soon.April 22, 2013 at 8:57 pm #18256April 22, 2013 at 7:25 pm #18255
finally got our check today in mail,7 weeks,5 days since they first received IR form in mail, good luck to you all,April 22, 2013 at 5:28 pm #18254
Just got a phone call from a TA. Very nice lady and she said basically our return is pretty much done and just sitting there, so she is sending over a request to expedite our refund. She didn’t give me a time frame but said that we would probably have our refund very soon. She also told me that she filed an injured spouse form herself and hers was just sitting there too so she knows how we all feel. Anyway, I am very cautiously optimistic. Praying all of us get good news soon.April 22, 2013 at 3:20 pm #18253April 22, 2013 at 1:48 pm #18252
When contacting a congressman, do you contact your State rep. or the US rep?April 22, 2013 at 1:28 pm #18251
For anyone who doesn’t follow the Facebook site, here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/272344846175042/
You have to sign up for the group because it’s private however both my wife and I were approved in less then 5 minutes.April 22, 2013 at 1:16 pm #18250
@whatthebleep Happy for you, finally over! Praying for everyone else to get DDD soon. I was looking on Facebook ant there is several people who are past the 11th week and still waiting. Irs does say o call back and ask to have a referral put on account to try to get it moving faster. But they say it can take up to 30 days for referral. Some also say to keep calling to see if you get a nice representative that will work on your return while you sit on the phone. That is what I did I finally called is department and had a nice representative who unfrozen my refund and I received with in 9 days. Also read that a TA will take your refund to be delayed if your near or past 11 weeks.April 22, 2013 at 12:51 pm #18249
Unfortunately, it is becoming my experience that the TA is causing it to take longer. My 11 weeks is up next week, and we got a TA because we are being forced to move, and I wanted to try to expedite our return. Now the TA is telling me the earliest to expect anything is May 28th…April 22, 2013 at 12:48 pm #18248
@saros: We haven’t been contacted by a TA as of yet and I doubt we will be. I am not going to push the issue either.April 22, 2013 at 12:20 pm #18247
@brokeandfrustrated Careful with the TA. In a few instances a TA can actually DELAY your return. Just read on Facebook yesterday about a TA who put in an inquiry and when the person called on the progress of the return, they were informed that the funds were ready to be deposited, however they are now frozen until the inquiry is completed.
Also, once a TA takes your case, the IRS agents are no longer required to discuss your case with you, and the majority will not.
It’s just my opinion, but I have never seen a case that was accelerated because a TA was involved. I suppose a TA can call them every single day, but I really doubt it speeds up the return.April 22, 2013 at 10:59 am #18246
@brokeandfrustrated Call the state congressman’s office. If you don’t have the number google it on line. I have seen that most have helped quite a bit.
@ugh…seriously I have education credits on my return but am waiting on my refund. However on my account transcript it shows it is credited back to my account.April 22, 2013 at 10:53 am #18245
@whatthebleep: So happy for you! And thank you for your prayers. I am seriously considering emailing my senator. We are in dire straights financially and simply cannot keep waiting for our refund. The lady at the IRS told me last week that we really can’t expect it until the 11 weeks is up on May 16th but I told her we can’t wait that long which is why she put in a referral for a TA for us. Well the TA has yet to contact us and I am fed up!April 22, 2013 at 10:43 am #18244
@whatthebleep So happy you got it! What a relief. No deposit for me and no update on WMR. I’ll check again after work.April 22, 2013 at 10:24 am #18243April 22, 2013 at 10:11 am #18242
No update on WMR, so I called IRS again. Was given paper check to be sent 4/26, I guess maybe thats because I paper filed IS form after e-filing return. So I’m hopeful, but I’ll believe it when it gets here, but I did ask him if that is a definite date and he said yes a check will be mailed out on 4/26. So heres to hoping for everyone. Seems this week is good for all us spouses. By the way e filed 1/31, Is form received by IRS 2/07.April 22, 2013 at 9:57 am #18241
I’m praying for you too @katmillApril 22, 2013 at 9:56 am #18240April 22, 2013 at 9:56 am #18239
Nothing for me this morning, either in the account or on WMR. Damn. Congrats @whatthebleep!!!! Hopefully the rest of us will get some $$ soon!!April 22, 2013 at 9:50 am #18238
No change on WMR this morning. :( :(April 22, 2013 at 9:42 am #18237
Hey you guys remember i told you I have a friend that works for IRShovenstuff? Well he just told me that technically even if you have a dd they aren’t supposed to tell us over the phone. He said that some people told their dd on the px are calling in irate because they haven’t received it as told, so now they can only tell us to watch WMR, even if they see a dd is coming…crazy huh? Makes sense, but sucks too. Just thought I’d share.April 22, 2013 at 7:29 am #18236
Morning guys and gals got my money a few minutes ago. I hope you guys all hear something this week. I’m still gonna be checking this forum so let me know if you all need info from me.April 22, 2013 at 12:39 am #18235
Well, I’ve looked on this page for a couple weeks, now I’m finally posting. Return and IS submitted electronically on 1/30 but not accepted until 2/14 due to education credits. I haven’t ordered transcripts (not that I know what that means), WMR still says the same boring message and the offset hotline has not updated saying anythings been applied yet. Does anyone know of anyone thats received their refund with education credits? entering week 10 here, only took 8 weeks last year :(April 21, 2013 at 5:42 pm #18234
Thanks @irstressing I’m crossing my fingers and toes for you guys. Thats correct. I found this theory on a turbotax community thread so it’s no guarantee or anything but I wanted to see how the numbers were playing out for everyone that did get a dd. mine was 423,it was really close for me so maybe it will be for everyone else too? I’m supposed to get my refund tomorrow morning and I will update everyone as soon as I do.April 21, 2013 at 5:33 pm #18233
@whatthebleep so if your theory is right and I counted right tomorrow would be my day. (?) I’ll let you know if I get it. Have you got yours yet?April 21, 2013 at 5:27 pm #18232April 21, 2013 at 4:08 pm #18231
@katmill2369 Forget checking WMR. Every year, out of curiosity my wife and I check the WMR AFTER we have received our refund and ya know what it says? “Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.”
Ignore WMR. It’s not very accurate.April 21, 2013 at 4:06 pm #18230
@m_wag Welcome to the waiting game! Good to have others join me…..not good for you of course but you know :)April 21, 2013 at 1:34 pm #18229
@katmill2369: I am going to do the same, start checking our bank everyday as the rep told you. Hoping we all get some good news next week. Praying for everyone to get their money soon!April 21, 2013 at 11:58 am #18228
WMR is the same for me today too :(. I’m hoping since tomorrow is a new week and the rep on Friday said that she can’t “officially” tell us, but to start checking the bank account next week that things will start looking up. Fingers crossed!April 21, 2013 at 10:46 am #18227
WMR says the same old crap this morning. Called three days ago for a TA and they told me it would be up to 7 days before I am contacted by a TA. I am so fed up and if there is no change on WMR tomorrow morning I will be calling the IRS again. This is ridiculous!! We have virtually no money in the bank and payday is still 9 days away. :(April 21, 2013 at 10:03 am #18226
Can I play the waiting game with you all? We e-filed our return and the IS form and it was accepted 2/14. I was able to order transcripts online this morning. I hope that means something…April 20, 2013 at 6:11 pm #18225
I’m extremely happy to hear about all of you getting your refunds. I requested the help of a TA 3 days ago. I was old I would hear from one Monday. My wife told me to “just leave it alone, you can’t rush them” Well this time i’m hoping my wife is wrong. Wishing with all those that haven’t received their refunds that this week is the one.April 20, 2013 at 5:29 pm #18224
Awesome news for you too @injured4life! Would you mind telling me your 3 digit nbr too please?April 20, 2013 at 5:26 pm #18223
That’s awesome news @irstressing! Congratulations :) would you mind letting me know what your 3 digit nbr is on your account transcript if you have it? I’m experimenting :)April 20, 2013 at 4:21 pm #18222
Is there anyone else left aside from us and katmill2369? Way I figure, it’s going to be May in 2 weeks. There can’t be that many refunds left to even process! They have to get to us eventually! Trying to stay positive here haha.April 20, 2013 at 4:13 pm #18221
Yay for good news guys!!! My WMR is still the same :(. So we shall see if that theory has any merit to it @whatthebleep. Who knows with the IRS.April 20, 2013 at 4:05 pm #18220
@injured4life awsome! Don’t be a stranger now. We might be here for awhile! haha.
No change here but it’s only been 2 days. I will check back with ya all next week. Maybe before next weekend I can see some progress.April 20, 2013 at 3:32 pm #18219
Sorry for the typo…was too excited. lolApril 20, 2013 at 3:27 pm #18218
Mine WMR changed from offset applied to debt to we have received your refund and shows the amount we are getting back. No ddd yet but there’s progress. :)April 20, 2013 at 1:56 pm #18217
WMR changed this morning!!! I have the orange bar now. States refund is scheduled to be sent April 24th. My blood pressure is starting to come down. I think I’m on board with some of you. Better to owe the government than to wait 11 + frustrating weeks.April 20, 2013 at 1:05 pm #18216
Some people say anything over 366 in that 3 digit nbr is considered invalid so the theory is bogus but who knows…April 20, 2013 at 1:01 pm #18215
And supposedly you can get your refund anywhere between those 21 days.. ? Who knows just wanted to share :-)April 20, 2013 at 12:58 pm #18214
Ok katmill2369 thanks for responding :-) i was trying to test someone’s theory about Jillian dates…which is what that 3 digit nbr is supposed to be.. So you would subtract 445-365=80.. Then count 80days from jan30th and then 21 days from there you should get your refund.. but that would make today your day 80, which would mean between now and 21 days from now the irs has to get you your refund…make sense? I dunno how valid it is but I thought it was pretty cool? :-)April 20, 2013 at 12:50 pm #18213
Thanks dear..ok one sec I’m gonna do some mathApril 20, 2013 at 12:49 pm #18212April 20, 2013 at 12:41 pm #18211
Well if anybody finds their transcripts and finds this 3 digit nbr plse let me know i think I figured something out…April 20, 2013 at 12:14 pm #18210
Or anyone else? Lol that has account transcripts handy? :-)April 20, 2013 at 12:11 pm #18209
It would be the 6th, 7th, and 8th digit right in the middle.April 20, 2013 at 12:06 pm #18208
Hey everyone happy Saturday :-) hey @brokeandfrustrated you have your account transcripts handy? If so look under the transactions part at the bottom, there is a 14 digit number there can you plse tell me what the middle 3 digits are of that number are? Just wanna see something…April 20, 2013 at 10:57 am #18207
No change on WMR this morning and no deposit in the bank. :( I am going to start checking the bank everyday though since others have said that WMR has not always been updating as it should. Praying we have our money soon. Still haven’t been called by a TA and it’s been three days since I requested one…..April 20, 2013 at 9:21 am #18206
Well, I talked to a pretty helpful rep yesterday. For one their computer system was down so that was causing a bunch of problems, and I got my first consistent answer of May 1st….at the latest. She also said that WMR is more often than not NOT changing so to start checking the bank account daily. As of next week. She couldn’t give me a DDD but she did recommend checking the account next week so….maybe next week? At least the rep and the TA have both said that the refund will be here by May 1st. My son’s birthday is May 4th so, fingers crossed LOL.
How about everyone else? News? My WMR hasn’t changed at all as of this morning.April 19, 2013 at 11:54 pm #18205
Officially 11 weeks today. No change on WMR, and no check in my mailbox. Looks like this game is headed into overtime.April 19, 2013 at 4:24 pm #18203
@j33 I am so glad you go your DD. That gives me hope. I am really getting tired of this back and forth. I am hoping that the Advocate is right and that they can get this settled next week for me. My back is to the corner now. All I can do now is wait and pray.April 19, 2013 at 1:28 pm #18202
Hey that’s great news @j33 I’m happy for you, especially considering you didn’t even need the injured spouse form, congrats :-)April 19, 2013 at 12:51 pm #18201
Sorry to hear there is no change on WMR for guys, I know it seems as you will never get your date but it is coming. I finally received my refund in my bank this morning, very happy this is over with. My WMR did change to DDD of 4/19 on 4/17, this morning bars are still showing as approved they have not moved to sent.April 19, 2013 at 11:44 am #18200
@purple33 I am with you! I would rather owe the IRS and make them wait for their money like they have made us wait! I am definitely not going through this again next year….April 19, 2013 at 11:37 am #18199
@maximo2 I would be calling them up everyday. If I was given a DDD and it past with no DD. That is crap. I am so sorry that you have to go through this! Wow.April 19, 2013 at 11:35 am #18198
Still nothing here either, no changes to WMR, Of all the many stories from IRS the one consistent thing was that my return was all through processing and was just waiting on a DDD since 04/01, but still nothing. Will keep updated pray for us all.April 19, 2013 at 11:35 am #18197
For everyone… Last year my WMR never changed from still processing even after I got my DD. Their system is so jacked up. I am from this time on going to owe the IRS… I can make payment arrangements and make them wait for their money… Like they make us wait. This is so stupid! Hang in there!April 19, 2013 at 10:48 am #18196
I called on march 23rd to get a TA they told me I would get a call within 72 hours she didn’t call until April 11th my wmr shows still processing I got my refund in the first week if April I did notice that the message “a refund date will be provided when available” disappeared off my message 3 days before DDApril 19, 2013 at 10:15 am #18195
Nothing here for me either. Same message on WMR……ugh. I might try calling and bugging the IRS later but I don’t know that it will do any good. Hopefully better news for others today!April 19, 2013 at 9:53 am #18194
Still no DDD when I checked this morning. Had the same old message that refund date will be provided when available. :( And we haven’t heard from a TA yet either. So tired of this crap!April 18, 2013 at 7:17 pm #18186
It really depends on the agent you get and how much they want to fork through your file. Some of us have gotten good info, some of us have gotten nothing. It sucks you guys didn’t find out anything but I would still keep calling, I’ve spent a lot of time on the phone with the IRS, some wasted, some not, but in the end worth it..to me.April 18, 2013 at 7:14 pm #18185
Haha injured4life,“should be by the end of this month” is translated, “How soon can I get this person off the phone”. They don’t care and they have no answers and I agree, the government bureaucracy and red tape is ridiculous. Nothing is updated in the computer and no notes left to let the other agents know at what stage the returns are at. And it’s apparently impossible to just pick up a phone and ask.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about filing Injured Spouse over the last 3 years, there are no answers, there is no time frame and no one is able to assist or update you because they have no idea. The only thing you can do is sit, and wait, no matter how long it takes. (our first return filing IS took right at 6 months).April 18, 2013 at 7:05 pm #18184
Wish I would have seen the last two posts by @saros and @charbelle. I too just wasted 40 minutes of my life. I broke my own rule and called the IRS. After endless elevator music, the kind lady told me my IS claim was still being processed. I explained to her that it has been 11 weeks, to which she replied “should be by the end of this month”. REALLY!!!!! SHOULD BE????? With all the technology we have, I would think my tax money would get me something better than a “should be”.April 18, 2013 at 6:56 pm #18183
Ok. After the rather non-helpful response we got when we called Tuesday, I decided to wait a couple days and called the IRS again this evening. After giving the lady my info, she confirmed that yes indeed, it was STILL PROCESSING and we were beyond 11 weeks.
There really isn’t much she can do of course, however she did put in a request, or an inquiry and informed me that a supervisor from the IS dept will contact me…………sometime in the next 30 days. Now that won’t affect the actual return time, however if it does take that long, that would be week 16. If I’m still here by then I’ll be talking to myself haha.April 18, 2013 at 6:05 pm #18182
i gave in and called :( i was on hold for 29 minutes then my call was finally answered and immediately disconnected. i called back because i’m persistent, and after 32 minutes got to speak to a nice gal who told me that our return is still in the processing phase because we filed IS. she said we should hear something back by the end of april or beginning of may. there is not a freeze on out DD. i ordered transcripts via the automated system which seemed to have no problem accepting our address like the irs.gov site did. all in all-no new info & i feel i wasted an hour of my life-which the irs should monetarily refund as well :) congrats to everyone who is getting their refunds! it makes me think that there is a light at the end of the tunnel-just hope its not a train haha!April 18, 2013 at 5:52 pm #18181April 18, 2013 at 4:53 pm #18180
@whatthebleep Congrats on your DDD! I hope everything works out. Also congrats to anyone else who I missed too. Also @charbelle go ahead and call the IRS with those numbers given and order the transcripts that way if you want, but I warn you my transcript really didn’t tell me anything that I already didn’t know. Good luck on your refund. Let us know if you need any help. We are here to help each other. I know that this group has helped me a great deal. Take Care.April 18, 2013 at 3:58 pm #18179
Hi @charbelle the person who has the debt will have their part of the tax refund offset. I don’t think you need transcripts it’s up to you. If you read further up the forum there are numbers we have been calling to get what info we could. Good luck hope you get some info :-)April 18, 2013 at 3:40 pm #18178
hello! I’m keeping up with what everyone is posting & my confusion & fear is getting the best of me :( the last time i called in i was told to wait the full 11 weeks and then call back-which would be on the 29th of April. I filed IS and our taxes via TT-for the first time ever on Feb. 11th. I was told they were rec’d on the 13th. In the meantime I called the automated system & found two offsets-for my student loans. My husband worked all year and I only worked a few months. The student loans were prior to our marriage. I guess my question is: what questions do I need to ask to get some information?! I am highly concerned that I may not have filled out the form properly. I would also like to know if we are getting his amount of our refund back. Do I need to mail in a hard copy? I requested transcripts via the automated line & was told our address didn’t match up with what they have on file-which blows me away because I checked & re-checked that along with our SS#’s every year that i’ve filed. How can I get transcripts-do I need them? Do they have info that can help me figure out the secrets of the IRS IS dept?!!! haha! Any help would be much appreciated! I’ve got my dialing finger all ready-but no where to go.April 18, 2013 at 3:08 pm #18177April 18, 2013 at 3:05 pm #18176
@whatthebleep congratulations on DDD! Now lets hope we get it on our dates and not have to wait longer. Hopefully everyone will see a DDD soon.April 18, 2013 at 2:34 pm #18175
@waiting13 I’ve not seen anyone that had the issue with the irs forgetting the 10 digit ID nbr like they did with you, which is re-damned-diculous, but I do know that it usually only takes one to two weeks to generate a Ddd, hope that helpsApril 18, 2013 at 2:07 pm #18174
After going round and round with the irs and them forgetting to put my banking info on the first time they submited it, I was assured today that it had been resubmitted and that I would have to wait for a posting date. Can anyone tell me about how long it took for you at this stage?April 18, 2013 at 1:59 pm #18173
