Do I need an advocate? Will the IRS pay us interest? Beyond miffed (to put it lightly), Got the letter “Tax Return Under Review.” Called several times- each time: “It’ll possibly be another 60 days.” They say my former employer didn’t file my earning statement- BUT employer hand delivered my late W-2 to me and states they filed an Amended Earnings statement (same day he delivered it), because a former employee deactivated me in database after they filed everyone elses. So… I followed IRS instructions (after calling them again d/t their vague instructions on yet another letter). They have everything in hand to process our simple 1040. It’s been 187 days- So, wondering if it’s time to get an Advocate? And…. may we expect the IRS to pay interest and how much?
