Tax Refund Schedule for 2018 IRS e-file and direct deposit dates

2018 Refund Schedule

2018 Refund Schedule

The tax refund schedule for 2018 with Direct Deposit dates shown below are based on filing and transmitting as early as January 2, 2018. The IRS no longer publishes these dates and now notifies tax payers that most refunds will be issued within 21 days of your return being accepted.  This general estimate doesn’t satisfy everyone and now many independent sites try to estimate dates when refunds will be sent.

The tax refund schedule dates you find on the various websites are only estimates.  It might give you a good idea, but never bank on it because many issues arise and delay tax refunds. When will tax season open? Once we know the date tax season open, the estimated tax refund direct deposit dates will likely be updated.

You can view and compare 2017 and prior year tax refund schedules here:  tax refund schedule. To check the status of your tax refund you can use the IRS Where’s My Refund tool.

Just checked my statues, and it does not show anything apart of it saying to check mid to late February, does not show if accepted or not, no bars at all. I did do it with dependents to the child tax credit. Anyone having Sam issue or know anything?

@JAB: It’s usually not until after your DDD passes and you have already received your refund. If WMR is showing approved then it has already been sent from the Treasury and is probably pending at the bank.

@PurpleMama: they did the same exact thing to me. Im assuming HRB? Only reason i went to a tax prep was to get an advance bc im claiming both credits. Still waiting on my refund, get the good ol tax topic 152 on WMR.

I thought the IRS was not accepting returns until 1/29. Why would mine already be accepted?

I hear everyone saying they received their advance. I was approved last year and received it in minutes. I filed today and was denied. The reason they gave was because they could not pull a credit file for me. I have a freeze on my credit but I had one last year no problems . I do not understand because I thought advance had nothing to do with credit. Any thoughts?

Almost that time again! I will wish you all swiftness. I happened upon this site a few years ago when my ex husbands exes got every penny of my taxes because we filed joint. I had no idea injured spouse existed. This site helps so much & I enjoy coming back year after year.
